    And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

    דַּבְּרוּdab/be/RUspeakאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingזֹאתzotthisהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe living thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatמִכׇּל־הַבְּהֵמָהmik/KOL-hab/be/he/MAamong all the animalsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retson the earth

    Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

    כֹּלkolwhateverמַפְרֶסֶתmaf/RE/setpartsפַּרְסָהpar/SAthe hoofוְשֹׁסַעַתve/sho/SA/atand cleavesשֶׁסַעSHE/sathe cleft ofפְּרָסֹתpe/ra/SOThoovesמַעֲלַתma/a/LATbrings upגֵּרָהge/RAthe cudבַּבְּהֵמָהbab/be/he/MAamong the animalsאֹתָהּo/TAthatתֹּאכֵלוּ׃to/KHE/luyou shall eat

    Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

    אַךְakhbutאֶת־זֶהet-zethisלֹאlonotתֹאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatמִמַּעֲלֵיmim/ma/a/LEof those that bring upהַגֵּרָהhag/ge/RAthe cudוּמִמַּפְרִסֵיu/mim/maf/ri/SEand of those that divideהַפַּרְסָהhap/par/SAthe hoofאֶת־הַגָּמָלet-hag/ga/MALthe camelכִּי־מַעֲלֵהki-ma/a/LEbecause brings upגֵרָהge/RAthe cudהוּאhuitוּפַרְסָהu/far/SAbut the hoofאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuit does notמַפְרִיסmaf/RISpartטָמֵאta/MEuncleanהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    וְאֶת־הַשָּׁפָןve/ET-hash/sha/FANand the rock badgerכִּי־מַעֲלֵהki-ma/a/LEbecause brings upגֵרָהge/RAthe cudהוּאhuitוּפַרְסָהu/far/SAbut the hoofלֹאlonotיַפְרִיסyaf/RISdoes it partטָמֵאta/MEuncleanהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    וְאֶת־הָאַרְנֶבֶתve/ET-ha/ar/NE/vetand the hareכִּי־מַעֲלַתki-ma/a/LATbecause brings upגֵּרָהge/RAthe cudהִואhivitוּפַרְסָהu/far/SAbut the hoofלֹאlonotהִפְרִיסָהhif/RI/sadoes it partטְמֵאָהte/me/Auncleanהִואhivit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    וְאֶת־הַחֲזִירve/ET-ha/cha/ZIRand the pigכִּי־מַפְרִיסki-maf/RISbecause partsפַּרְסָהpar/SAthe hoofהוּאhuitוְשֹׁסַעve/sho/SAand cleavesשֶׁסַעSHE/sathe cleft ofפַּרְסָהpar/SAthe hoofוְהוּאve/HUand itגֵּרָהge/RAthe cudלֹא־יִגָּרlo-yig/GARdoes not chewטָמֵאta/MEuncleanהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

    מִבְּשָׂרָםmib/be/sa/RAMtheir fleshלֹאlonotתֹאכֵלוּto/KHE/luyou shall eatוּבְנִבְלָתָםu/ve/niv/la/TAMand their carcassesלֹאlonotתִגָּעוּtig/GA/uyou shall touchטְמֵאִיםte/me/IMuncleanהֵםhemthey areלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

    אֶת־זֶהet-zethisתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבַּמָּיִםbam/MA/yimin the waterכֹּלkolwhateverאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat hasסְנַפִּירse/nap/PIRfinsוְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂתve/kas/KE/setand scalesבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimin the watersבַּיַּמִּיםbay/yam/MIMin the seasוּבַנְּחָלִיםu/van/ne/cha/LIMand in the riversאֹתָםo/TAMthemתֹּאכֵלוּ׃to/KHE/luyou shall eat

    These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵין־לוֹen-lohas notסְנַפִּירse/nap/PIRfinsוְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂתve/kas/KE/setand scalesבַּיַּמִּיםbay/yam/MIMin the seasוּבַנְּחָלִיםu/van/ne/cha/LIMand in the riversמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allשֶׁרֶץSHE/retsthe swarming things ofהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersוּמִכֹּלu/mik/KOLand of allנֶפֶשׁNE/feshcreatureהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAlivingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבַּמָּיִםbam/MA/yimin the waterשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהֵםhemthey areלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

    וְשֶׁקֶץve/SHE/ketsand a detestable thingיִהְיוּyih/YUthey shall beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמִבְּשָׂרָםmib/be/sa/RAMtheir fleshלֹאlonotתֹאכֵלוּto/KHE/luyou shall eatוְאֶת־נִבְלָתָםve/ET-niv/la/TAMand their carcassesתְּשַׁקֵּצוּ׃te/shak/KE/tsuyou shall detest

    They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

    כֹּלkolwhateverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵין־לוֹen-lohas notסְנַפִּירse/nap/PIRfinsוְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂתve/kas/KE/setand scalesבַּמָּיִםbam/MA/yimin the waterשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

    וְאֶת־אֵלֶּהve/ET-EL/leand theseתְּשַׁקְּצוּte/shak/ke/TSUyou shall detestמִן־הָעוֹףmin-ha/OFamong the birdsלֹאlonotיֵאָכְלוּye/a/khe/LUthey shall be eatenשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהֵםhemthey areאֶת־הַנֶּשֶׁרet-han/NE/sherthe eagleוְאֶת־הַפֶּרֶסve/ET-hap/PE/resand the bearded vultureוְאֵתve/ETandהָעׇזְנִיָּה׃ha/oz/niy/YAthe sea eagle

    And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

  14. 14

    וְאֶת־הַדָּאָהve/ET-had/da/Aand the kiteוְאֶת־הָאַיָּהve/ET-ha/ay/YAand the falconלְמִינָהּ׃le/mi/NAafter its kind

    And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

  15. 15

    אֵת־כׇּל־עֹרֵבet-kol-o/REVevery ravenלְמִינוֹ׃le/mi/NOafter its kind

    Every raven after his kind;

  16. 16

    וְאֵתve/ETandבַּתbatthe daughter ofהַיַּעֲנָהhay/ya/a/NAthe ostrichוְאֶת־הַתַּחְמָסve/ET-hat/tach/MASand the screech owlוְאֶת־הַשָּׁחַףve/ET-hash/SHA/chafand the gullוְאֶת־הַנֵּץve/ET-han/NETSand the hawkלְמִינֵהוּ׃le/mi/NE/huafter its kind

    And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

    וְאֶת־הַכּוֹסve/ET-hak/KOSand the little owlוְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָךְve/ET-hash/sha/LAKHand the cormorantוְאֶת־הַיַּנְשׁוּף׃ve/ET-hay/yan/SHUFand the great owl

    And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

  18. 18

    וְאֶת־הַתִּנְשֶׁמֶתve/ET-hat/tin/SHE/metand the barn owlוְאֶת־הַקָּאָתve/ET-hak/ka/ATand the desert owlוְאֶת־הָרָחָם׃ve/ET-ha/ra/CHAMand the Egyptian vulture

    And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

    וְאֵתve/ETandהַחֲסִידָהha/cha/si/DAthe storkהָאֲנָפָהha/a/na/FAthe heronלְמִינָהּle/mi/NAafter its kindוְאֶת־הַדּוּכִיפַתve/ET-had/du/khi/FATand the hoopoeוְאֶת־הָעֲטַלֵּף׃ve/ET-ha/a/tal/LEFand the bat

    And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

    כֹּלkolallשֶׁרֶץSHE/retsswarmingהָעוֹףha/OFwinged thingsהַהֹלֵךְha/ho/LEKHthat goesעַל־אַרְבַּעal-ar/BAon all foursשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

  21. 21

    אַךְakhbutאֶת־זֶהet-zethisתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allשֶׁרֶץSHE/retsswarmingהָעוֹףha/OFwinged thingsהַהֹלֵךְha/ho/LEKHthat goesעַל־אַרְבַּעal-ar/BAon all foursאֲשֶׁר־[לוֹ]a/SHER-lothat have(לא)lכְרָעַיִםkhe/ra/A/yimlegsמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveלְרַגְלָיוle/rag/LAYVtheir feetלְנַתֵּרle/nat/TERto leapבָּהֵןba/HENwith themעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retson the earth

    Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

    אֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/letheseמֵהֶםme/HEMof themתֹּאכֵלוּto/KHE/luyou shall eatאֶת־הָאַרְבֶּהet-ha/ar/BEthe locustלְמִינוֹle/mi/NOafter its kindוְאֶת־הַסׇּלְעָםve/ET-has/sol/AMand the bald locustלְמִינֵהוּle/mi/NE/huafter its kindוְאֶת־הַחַרְגֹּלve/ET-ha/char/GOLand the cricketלְמִינֵהוּle/mi/NE/huafter its kindוְאֶת־הֶחָגָבve/ET-he/cha/GAVand the grasshopperלְמִינֵהוּ׃le/mi/NE/huafter its kind

    Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allשֶׁרֶץSHE/retsswarmingהָעוֹףha/OFwinged thingsאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat hasאַרְבַּעar/BAfourרַגְלָיִםrag/LA/yimfeetשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

    וּלְאֵלֶּהu/le/EL/leand by theseתִּטַּמָּאוּtit/tam/MA/uyou shall be uncleanכׇּל־הַנֹּגֵעַkol-han/no/GE/awhoever touchesבְּנִבְלָתָםbe/niv/la/TAMtheir carcassesיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil the evening

    And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

    וְכׇל־הַנֹּשֵׂאve/KHOL-han/no/SEand whoever carriesמִנִּבְלָתָםmin/niv/la/TAMany of their carcassesיְכַבֵּסye/khab/BESshall washבְּגָדָיוbe/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil the evening

    And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

    לְכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָהle/KHOL-hab/be/he/MAevery animalאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִואhivitמַפְרֶסֶתmaf/RE/setpartsפַּרְסָהpar/SAthe hoofוְשֶׁסַעve/SHE/sabut cleftאֵינֶנָּהe/NEN/nait does notשֹׁסַעַתsho/SA/atcleaveוְגֵרָהve/ge/RAnor the cudאֵינֶנָּהe/NEN/nait does notמַעֲלָהma/a/LAbring upטְמֵאִיםte/me/IMuncleanהֵםhemthey areלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכׇּל־הַנֹּגֵעַkol-han/no/GE/awhoever touchesבָּהֶםba/HEMthemיִטְמָא׃yit/MAshall be unclean

    The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand whateverהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoesעַל־כַּפָּיוal-kap/PAYVon its pawsבְּכׇל־הַחַיָּהbe/KHOL-ha/chay/YAamong all the animalsהַהֹלֶכֶתha/ho/LE/khetthat goעַל־אַרְבַּעal-ar/BAon all foursטְמֵאִיםte/me/IMuncleanהֵםhemthey areלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכׇּל־הַנֹּגֵעַkol-han/no/GE/awhoever touchesבְּנִבְלָתָםbe/niv/la/TAMtheir carcassesיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil the evening

    And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

    וְהַנֹּשֵׂאve/han/no/SEand he who carriesאֶת־נִבְלָתָםet-niv/la/TAMtheir carcassesיְכַבֵּסye/khab/BESshall washבְּגָדָיוbe/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶבad-ha/A/revuntil the eveningטְמֵאִיםte/me/IMuncleanהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

    וְזֶהve/ZEand thisלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַטָּמֵאhat/ta/MEthe uncleanבַּשֶּׁרֶץbash/SHE/retsamong the swarming thingsהַשֹּׁרֵץhash/sho/RETSthat swarmsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthהַחֹלֶדha/CHO/ledthe weaselוְהָעַכְבָּרve/ha/akh/BARand the mouseוְהַצָּבve/hats/TSAVand the great lizardלְמִינֵהוּ׃le/mi/NE/huafter its kind

    These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

  30. 30

    וְהָאֲנָקָהve/ha/a/na/KAand the geckoוְהַכֹּחַve/hak/KO/achand the monitor lizardוְהַלְּטָאָהve/hal/le/ta/Aand the wall lizardוְהַחֹמֶטve/ha/CHO/metand the skinkוְהַתִּנְשָׁמֶת׃ve/hat/tin/SHA/metand the chameleon

    And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

  31. 31

    אֵלֶּהEL/letheseהַטְּמֵאִיםhat/te/me/IMare the uncleanלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּכׇל־הַשָּׁרֶץbe/KHOL-hash/SHA/retsamong all that swarmכׇּל־הַנֹּגֵעַkol-han/no/GE/awhoever touchesבָּהֶםba/HEMthemבְּמֹתָםbe/mo/TAMwhen they are deadיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil the evening

    These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand anythingאֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל־עָלָיוa/SHER-yip/POL-a/LAYVupon which fallsמֵהֶםme/HEMany of themבְּמֹתָםbe/mo/TAMwhen they are deadיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanמִכׇּל־כְּלִי־עֵץmik/KOL-ke/LI-etswhether any vessel of woodאוֹoorבֶגֶדVE/geda garmentאוֹ־עוֹרo-oror skinאוֹoorשָׂקsaksackclothכׇּל־כְּלִיkol-ke/LIany vesselאֲשֶׁר־יֵעָשֶׂהa/SHER-ye/a/SEwith which is doneמְלָאכָהme/la/KHAany workבָּהֶםba/HEMwith themבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yiminto waterיוּבָאyu/VAit must be putוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand it shall be uncleanעַד־הָעֶרֶבad-ha/E/revuntil the eveningוְטָהֵר׃ve/ta/HERthen it shall be clean

    And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

    וְכׇל־כְּלִי־חֶרֶשׂve/KHOL-ke/LI-CHE/resand any vessel of earthenwareאֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּלa/SHER-yip/POLinto which fallsמֵהֶםme/HEMany of themאֶל־תּוֹכוֹel-to/KHOinsideכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבְּתוֹכוֹbe/to/KHOis in itיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanוְאֹתוֹve/o/TOand itתִשְׁבֹּרוּ׃tish/BO/ruyou shall break

    And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

    מִכׇּל־הָאֹכֶלmik/KOL-ha/O/khelof all the foodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיֵאָכֵלye/a/KHELmay be eatenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָבוֹאya/VOcomesעָלָיוa/LAYVupon itמַיִםMA/yimwaterיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanוְכׇל־מַשְׁקֶהve/KHOL-mash/KEand any drinkאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִשָּׁתֶהyish/sha/TEmay be drunkבְּכׇל־כְּלִיbe/KHOL-ke/LIin any vesselיִטְמָא׃yit/MAshall be unclean

    Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand everythingאֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּלa/SHER-yip/POLwhich fallsמִנִּבְלָתָםmin/niv/la/TAMany of their carcassesעָלָיוa/LAYVupon itיִטְמָאyit/MAshall be uncleanתַּנּוּרtan/NURan ovenוְכִירַיִםve/khi/RA/yimand a stoveיֻתָּץyut/TATSit shall be broken downטְמֵאִיםte/me/IMuncleanהֵםhemthey areוּטְמֵאִיםu/te/me/IMand uncleanיִהְיוּyih/YUthey shall beלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

    אַךְakhbutמַעְיָןma/YANa springוּבוֹרu/VORand a cisternמִקְוֵה־מַיִםmik/VE-MA/yima gathering of waterיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beטָהוֹרta/HORcleanוְנֹגֵעַve/no/GE/abut whoever touchesבְּנִבְלָתָםbe/niv/la/TAMtheir carcassesיִטְמָא׃yit/MAshall be unclean

    Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifיִפֹּלyip/POLfallsמִנִּבְלָתָםmin/niv/la/TAMany of their carcassעַל־כׇּל־זֶרַעal-kol-ZE/raon any seedזֵרוּעַze/RU/afor sowingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִזָּרֵעַyiz/za/RE/ais to be sownטָהוֹרta/HORcleanהוּא׃huit is

    And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

    וְכִיve/KHIbut ifיֻתַּן־מַיִםyut/TAN-MA/yimwater is putעַל־זֶרַעal-ZE/raon the seedוְנָפַלve/na/FALand fallsמִנִּבְלָתָםmin/niv/la/TAMany of their carcassעָלָיוa/LAYVon itטָמֵאta/MEuncleanהוּאhuit isלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

    And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

    וְהָאֹכֵלve/ha/o/KHELand he who eatsמִנִּבְלָתָהּmin/niv/la/TAany of its carcassיְכַבֵּסye/khab/BESshall washבְּגָדָיוbe/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶבad-ha/A/revuntil the eveningוְהַנֹּשֵׂאve/han/no/SEand he who carriesאֶת־נִבְלָתָהּet-niv/la/TAits carcassיְכַבֵּסye/khab/BESshall washבְּגָדָיוbe/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand be uncleanעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil the evening

    And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

  41. 41

    וְכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץve/KHOL-hash/SHE/retsand every swarming thingהַשֹּׁרֵץhash/sho/RETSthat swarmsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsa detestable thingהוּאhuit isלֹאlonotיֵאָכֵל׃ye/a/KHELshall be eaten

    And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

  42. 42

    כֹּלkolwhateverהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoesעַל־גָּחוֹןal-ga/CHONon the bellyוְכֹלve/KHOLand whateverהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoesעַל־אַרְבַּעal-ar/BAon all foursעַדadevenכׇּל־מַרְבֵּהkol-mar/BEwhatever has manyרַגְלַיִםrag/LA/yimfeetלְכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץle/KHOL-hash/SHE/retsamong all the swarming thingsהַשֹּׁרֵץhash/sho/RETSthat swarmsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthלֹאlonotתֹאכְלוּםto/khe/LUMyou shall eat themכִּי־שֶׁקֶץki-SHE/ketsfor a detestable thingהֵם׃hemthey are

    Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

  43. 43

    אַל־תְּשַׁקְּצוּal-te/shak/ke/TSUdo not make detestableאֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםet-naf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsבְּכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץbe/KHOL-hash/SHE/retswith any swarming thingהַשֹּׁרֵץhash/sho/RETSthat swarmsוְלֹאve/LOnorתִטַּמְּאוּtit/tam/me/Uyou shall make yourselves uncleanבָּהֶםba/HEMwith themוְנִטְמֵתֶםve/nit/me/TEMthat you should be defiledבָּם׃bamby them

    Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

    כִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתֶּםve/hit/kad/dish/TEMand you shall sanctify yourselvesוִהְיִיתֶםvih/yi/TEMand you shall beקְדֹשִיםke/do/SHIMholyכִּיkiforקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyאָנִיA/niam Iוְלֹאve/LOnorתְטַמְּאוּte/tam/me/Ushall you defileאֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםet-naf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsבְּכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץbe/KHOL-hash/SHE/retswith any swarming thingהָרֹמֵשׂha/ro/MESthat creepsעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retson the earth

    For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

  45. 45

    כִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהַמַּעֲלֶהham/ma/a/LEwho brought upאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלִהְיֹתlih/YOTto beלָכֶםla/KHEMyourלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMGodוִהְיִיתֶםvih/yi/TEMand you shall beקְדֹשִׁיםke/do/SHIMholyכִּיkiforקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyאָנִי׃A/niam I

    For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

  46. 46

    זֹאתzotthisתּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofהַבְּהֵמָהhab/be/he/MAthe livestockוְהָעוֹףve/ha/OFand the birdsוְכֹלve/KHOLand allנֶפֶשׁNE/feshcreatureהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAlivingהָרֹמֶשֶׂתha/ro/ME/setthat movesבַּמָּיִםbam/MA/yimin the watersוּלְכׇל־נֶפֶשׁu/le/KHOL-NE/feshand of every creatureהַשֹּׁרֶצֶתhash/sho/RE/tsetthat swarmsעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retson the earth

    This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

  47. 47

    לְהַבְדִּילle/hav/DILto distinguishבֵּיןbenbetweenהַטָּמֵאhat/ta/MEthe uncleanוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַטָּהֹרhat/ta/HORthe cleanוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe animalהַנֶּאֱכֶלֶתhan/ne/e/KHE/letthat may be eatenוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe animalאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotתֵאָכֵל׃te/a/KHELmay be eaten

    To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
