Leviticus 1 וַיִּקְרָא פרק א׳

1. 1

   וַיִּקְרָאand calledאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוַיְדַבֵּרand spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֵלָיוto himמֵאֹהֶלfrom the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationלֵאמֹר׃saying

   And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,

2. 2

   דַּבֵּרspeakאֶל־בְּנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֲלֵהֶםunto themאָדָםa manכִּי־יַקְרִיבwhen he offersמִכֶּםfrom youקׇרְבָּןofferingלַיהֹוָהto the LORDמִן־הַבְּהֵמָהfrom the livestockמִן־הַבָּקָרfrom the herdוּמִן־הַצֹּאןand from the flockתַּקְרִיבוּyou shall offerאֶת־קׇרְבַּנְכֶם׃your offering

   Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

3. 3

   אִם־עֹלָהif a burnt offeringקׇרְבָּנוֹhis offeringמִן־הַבָּקָרfrom the herdזָכָרmaleתָּמִיםwithout blemishיַקְרִיבֶנּוּshall offer itאֶל־פֶּתַחto the door ofאֹהֶלthe tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationיַקְרִיבhe shall offerאֹתוֹitלִרְצֹנוֹfor his acceptanceלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.

4. 4

   וְסָמַךְand shall layיָדוֹhis handעַלuponרֹאשׁthe head ofהָעֹלָהthe burnt offeringוְנִרְצָהand it will be acceptedלוֹfor himלְכַפֵּרto make atonementעָלָיו׃upon him

   And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

5. 5

   וְשָׁחַטand shall slaughterאֶת־בֶּןson ofהַבָּקָרthe herdלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְהִקְרִיבוּand shall presentבְּנֵיthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאֶת־הַדָּםthe bloodוְזָרְקוּand shall sprinkleאֶת־הַדָּםthe bloodעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַupon the altarסָבִיבall aroundאֲשֶׁר־פֶּתַחwhich is at the door ofאֹהֶלthe tent ofמוֹעֵד׃the congregation

   And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

6. 6

   וְהִפְשִׁיטand shall flayאֶת־הָעֹלָהthe burnt offeringוְנִתַּחand shall cut in piecesאֹתָהּitלִנְתָחֶיהָ׃into its pieces

   And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.

7. 7

   וְנָתְנוּand shall putבְּנֵיthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֵשׁfireעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַupon the altarוְעָרְכוּand shall arrangeעֵצִיםwoodעַל־הָאֵשׁ׃upon the fire

   And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:

8. 8

   וְעָרְכוּand shall arrangeבְּנֵיthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאֵת־הַנְּתָחִיםthe piecesאֶת־הָרֹאשׁthe headוְאֶת־הַפָּדֶרand the suetעַל־הָעֵצִיםupon the woodאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הָאֵשׁupon the fireאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ׃upon the altar

   And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

9. 9

   וְקִרְבּוֹand its entrailsוּכְרָעָיוand its legsיִרְחַץshall washבַּמָּיִםin the waterוְהִקְטִירand shall burnהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶת־הַכֹּלthe wholeהַמִּזְבֵּחָהon the altarעֹלָהa burnt offeringאִשֵּׁהa fire offeringרֵיחַ־נִיחוֹחַa soothing aromaלַיהֹוָה׃to the LORD

   But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

10. 10

    וְאִם־מִן־הַצֹּאןand if from the flockקׇרְבָּנוֹhis offeringמִן־הַכְּשָׂבִיםfrom the lambsאוֹorמִן־הָעִזִּיםfrom the goatsלְעֹלָהto a burnt offeringזָכָרmaleתָּמִיםwithout blemishיַקְרִיבֶנּוּ׃shall offer it

    And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.

11. 11

    וְשָׁחַטand shall slaughterאֹתוֹitעַלuponיֶרֶךְthe side ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַthe altarצָפֹנָהnorthwardלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְזָרְקוּand shall sprinkleבְּנֵיthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאֶת־דָּמוֹhis bloodעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַupon the altarסָבִיב׃all around

    And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.

12. 12

    וְנִתַּחand shall cut in piecesאֹתוֹitלִנְתָחָיוinto its piecesוְאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹand his headוְאֶת־פִּדְרוֹand its suetוְעָרַךְand he will arrangeהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֹתָםthemעַל־הָעֵצִיםupon the woodאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הָאֵשׁupon the fireאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ׃upon the altar

    And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

13. 13

    וְהַקֶּרֶבand the entrailsוְהַכְּרָעַיִםand the legsיִרְחַץshall washבַּמָּיִםin the waterוְהִקְרִיבand shall offerהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶת־הַכֹּלthe wholeוְהִקְטִירand shall burnהַמִּזְבֵּחָהon the altarעֹלָהa burnt offeringהוּאitאִשֵּׁהa fire offeringרֵיחַaroma ofנִיחֹחַsoothingלַיהֹוָה׃to the LORD

    But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

14. 14

    וְאִםand ifמִן־הָעוֹףfrom the birdsעֹלָהa burnt offeringקׇרְבָּנוֹhis offeringלַיהֹוָהto the LORDוְהִקְרִיבand shall offerמִן־הַתֹּרִיםfrom the turtle dovesאוֹorמִן־בְּנֵיfrom the sons ofהַיּוֹנָהthe doveאֶת־קׇרְבָּנוֹ׃his offering

    And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.

15. 15

    וְהִקְרִיבוֹand he will present itהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַto the altarוּמָלַקand he will nip offאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹhis headוְהִקְטִירand shall burnהַמִּזְבֵּחָהon the altarוְנִמְצָהand shall be drained outדָמוֹhis bloodעַלuponקִירthe wall ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַ׃the altar

    And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:

16. 16

    וְהֵסִירand he shall removeאֶת־מֻרְאָתוֹits crawבְּנֹצָתָהּwith its feathersוְהִשְׁלִיךְand shall castאֹתָהּitאֵצֶלnearהַמִּזְבֵּחַthe altarקֵדְמָהeastwardאֶל־מְקוֹםto place ofהַדָּשֶׁן׃the fatty ash

    And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:

17. 17

    וְשִׁסַּעand shall tearאֹתוֹitבִכְנָפָיוby its wingsלֹאnotיַבְדִּילhe shall divideוְהִקְטִירand shall burnאֹתוֹitהַכֹּהֵןthe priestהַמִּזְבֵּחָהon the altarעַל־הָעֵצִיםupon the woodאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הָאֵשׁupon the fireעֹלָהa burnt offeringהוּאitאִשֵּׁהa fire offeringרֵיחַaroma ofנִיחֹחַsoothingלַיהֹוָה׃to the LORD

    And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
