   וַיְהִי־אִישׁvay/HI-ishand there was a manמֵהַר־אֶפְרָיִםme/HAR-ef/RA/yimof the hill country of Ephraimוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameמִיכָיְהוּ׃Mi/KHAY/huMicah

   And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלְאִמּוֹle/im/MOto his motherאֶלֶףE/lefthe thousandוּמֵאָהu/me/Aand hundredהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefthe silverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֻקַּח־לָךְluk/KACH-lakhwas taken from you(ואתי)vtay[וְאַתְּ]ve/ATTand youאָלִיתa/LITuttered a curseוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאָמַרְתְּa/MARTspokeבְּאׇזְנַיbe/oz/NAYin my earsהִנֵּה־הַכֶּסֶףhin/NE-hak/KE/sefbehold the silverאִתִּיit/TIwith meאֲנִיa/NIIלְקַחְתִּיוle/kach/TIVtook itוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessed beבְּנִיbe/NImy sonלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaiof the LORD

   And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my son.

   וַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevand he restoredאֶת־אֶלֶף־וּמֵאָהet-E/lef-u/me/Athe thousand and hundredהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefthe silverלְאִמּוֹle/im/MOto his motherוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherהַקְדֵּשׁhak/DESHdedicateהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיhik/DASH/tiI had dedicatedאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDמִיָּדִיmiy/ya/DIfrom my handלִבְנִיliv/NIfor my sonלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeפֶּסֶלPE/sela graven imageוּמַסֵּכָהu/mas/se/KHAand a molten imageוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֲשִׁיבֶנּוּa/shi/VEN/nuI will return itלָךְ׃lakhto you

   And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

   וַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevyet he restoredאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverלְאִמּוֹle/im/MOto his motherוַתִּקַּחvat/tik/KACHand tookאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherמָאתַיִםma/TA/yimtwo hundredכֶּסֶףKE/sefof silverוַתִּתְּנֵהוּvat/tit/te/NE/huand gave themלַצּוֹרֵףlats/tso/REFto the silversmithוַיַּעֲשֵׂהוּvay/ya/a/SE/huwho made itפֶּסֶלPE/sela graven imageוּמַסֵּכָהu/mas/se/KHAand a molten imageוַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofמִיכָיְהוּ׃Mi/KHAY/huMicah

   Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.

   וְהָאִישׁve/ha/ISHand the manמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahלוֹlohadבֵּיתbeta house ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand madeאֵפוֹדe/FODan ephodוּתְרָפִיםu/te/ra/FIMand teraphimוַיְמַלֵּאvay/mal/LEand he filledאֶת־יַדet-yadthe hand ofאַחַדa/CHADoneמִבָּנָיוmib/ba/NAYVof his sonsוַיְהִי־לוֹvay/HI-lowho became hisלְכֹהֵן׃le/kho/HENpriest

   And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

   בַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאֵיןenthere was noמֶלֶךְME/lekhkingבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin Israelאִישׁishevery manהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינָיוbe/e/NAYVin his eyesיַעֲשֶׂה׃ya/a/SEdid

   In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

   וַיְהִי־נַעַרvay/HI-NA/arand there was a young manמִבֵּיתmib/BETof Beth-לֶחֶםLE/chemlehemיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahמִמִּשְׁפַּחַתmim/mish/PA/chatof the clan ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְהוּאve/HUand heלֵוִיLe/VIwas a Leviteוְהוּאve/HUand heגָר־שָׁם׃gar-shamsojourned there

   And there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.

   וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manמֵהָעִירme/ha/IRout of the cityמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom Beth-לֶחֶםLE/chemlehemיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלָגוּרla/GURto sojournבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERwhereיִמְצָאyim/TSAhe could findוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameהַר־אֶפְרַיִםhaR-ef/RA/yimto the hill country of Ephraimעַד־בֵּיתad-betto the house ofמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doדַּרְכּוֹ׃dar/KOhis way

   And the man departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.

   וַיֹּאמֶר־לוֹvay/YO/mer-loand said to himמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahמֵאַיִןme/A/yinfrom whereתָּבוֹאta/VOdo you comeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֵוִיLe/VIa Leviteאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amמִבֵּיתmib/BETof Beth-לֶחֶםLE/chemlehemיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iהֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingלָגוּרla/GURto sojournבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERwhereאֶמְצָא׃em/TSAI may find

   And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahשְׁבָהshe/VAdwellעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meוֶהְיֵה־לִיveh/YE-liand be to meלְאָבle/AVa fatherוּלְכֹהֵןu/le/kho/HENand a priestוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iאֶתֶּן־לְךָet/TEN-le/KHAwill give youעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenכֶּסֶףKE/sefof silverלַיָּמִיםlay/ya/MIMa yearוְעֵרֶךְve/E/rekhand a suit ofבְּגָדִיםbe/ga/DIMclothesוּמִחְיָתֶךָu/mich/ya/TE/khaand your foodוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhso went inהַלֵּוִי׃hal/Le/VIthe Levite

    And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.

    וַיּוֹאֶלvay/YO/eland was contentהַלֵּוִיhal/Le/VIthe Leviteלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto dwellאֶת־הָאִישׁet-ha/ISHwith the manוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe young manלוֹloto himכְּאַחַדke/a/CHADas oneמִבָּנָיו׃mib/ba/NAYVof his sons

    And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.

    וַיְמַלֵּאvay/mal/LEand filledמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahאֶת־יַדet-yadthe hand ofהַלֵּוִיhal/Le/VIthe Leviteוַיְהִי־לוֹvay/HI-loand became hisהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe young manלְכֹהֵןle/kho/HENpriestוַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofמִיכָה׃Mi/KHAMicah

    And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

13. 13

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahעַתָּהat/TAnowיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־יֵיטִיבki-ye/TIVthat will do goodיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִיlito meכִּיkisinceהָיָה־לִיha/YA-liI haveהַלֵּוִיhal/Le/VIthe Leviteלְכֹהֵן׃le/kho/HENas priest

    Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
