   Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

   And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:

   לֹא־עֲזַבְתֶּםlo-a/zav/TEMyou have not forsakenאֶת־אֲחֵיכֶםet-a/che/KHEMyour brethrenזֶהzetheseיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyעַדadtoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםu/she/mar/TEMbut have keptאֶת־מִשְׁמֶרֶתet-mish/ME/retthe charge ofמִצְוַתmits/VATthe commandment ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

   Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.

   And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.

   But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

   So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.

   Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,

   And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.

   And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־גְּלִילוֹתel-ge/li/LOTto the region ofהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofכְּנָעַןKe/NA/anCanaanוַיִּבְנוּvay/yiv/NUbuiltבְנֵי־רְאוּבֵןve/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadוַחֲצִיva/cha/TSIand halfשֵׁבֶטSHE/vetthe tribe ofהַמְנַשֶּׁהHam/nash/SHEManassehשָׁםshamthereמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarעַל־הַיַּרְדֵּןal-Hay/yar/DENby the Jordanמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatלְמַרְאֶה׃le/mar/Eto look upon

    And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand heardבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבָנוּVA/nuhave builtבְנֵי־רְאוּבֵןve/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadוַחֲצִיva/cha/TSIand halfשֵׁבֶטSHE/vetthe tribe ofהַמְנַשֶּׁהHam/nash/SHEManassehאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarאֶל־מוּלel-mulin front ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanאֶל־גְּלִילוֹתel-ge/li/LOTin the region ofהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/veron the side ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand when heardבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּקָּהֲלוּvay/yik/ka/ha/LUgatheredכׇּל־עֲדַתkol-a/DATthe whole congregation ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of IsraelשִׁלֹהShi/LOat Shilohלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTto go upעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themלַצָּבָא׃lats/tsa/VAto war

    And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.

    וַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand sentבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןel-Be/NE-re/u/VENto the children of Reubenוְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָדve/EL-be/NE-gadand to the children of Gadוְאֶל־חֲצִיve/EL-cha/TSIand to halfשֵׁבֶט־מְנַשֶּׁהSHE/vet-Me/nash/SHEthe tribe of Manassehאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofהַגִּלְעָדHag/gil/ADGileadאֶת־פִּינְחָסet-Pi/ne/CHASPhinehasבֶּן־אֶלְעָזָרben-El/a/ZARthe son of Eleazarהַכֹּהֵן׃hak/ko/HENthe priest

    And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,

    וַעֲשָׂרָהva/a/sa/RAand tenנְשִׂאִיםne/si/IMleadersעִמּוֹim/MOwith himנָשִׂיאna/SIa leaderאֶחָדe/CHADoneנָשִׂיאna/SIa leaderאֶחָדe/CHADoneלְבֵיתle/VETof each house ofאָבavfatherלְכֹלle/KHOLthroughout allמַטּוֹתmat/TOTthe tribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאִישׁve/ISHand eachרֹאשׁroshwas head ofבֵּית־אֲבוֹתָםbet-a/vo/TAMtheir fathers’ houseהֵמָּהHEM/matheyלְאַלְפֵיle/al/FEamong the thousands ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their fathers among the thousands of Israel.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןel-Be/NE-re/u/VENto the children of Reubenוְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָדve/EL-be/NE-gadand to the children of Gadוְאֶל־חֲצִיve/EL-cha/TSIand to halfשֵׁבֶט־מְנַשֶּׁהSHE/vet-Me/nash/SHEthe tribe of Manassehאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofהַגִּלְעָדHag/gil/ADGileadוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand spokeאִתָּםit/TAMwith themלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,

16. 16

    כֹּהkothusאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaysכֹּלkolthe wholeעֲדַתa/DATcongregation ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמָה־הַמַּעַלma-ham/MA/alwhat trespass isהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichמְעַלְתֶּםme/al/TEMyou have committedבֵּאלֹהֵיbe/lo/HEagainst the God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto turn awayהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבִּבְנוֹתְכֶםbiv/not/KHEMin that you have builtלָכֶםla/KHEMyourselvesמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarלִמְרׇדְכֶםlim/rod/KHEMthat you might rebelהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayבַּיהֹוָה׃ba-Adonaiagainst the LORD

    Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD?

    הַמְעַט־לָנוּham/AT-LA/nuis too little for usאֶת־עֲוֺןet-a/VONthe iniquity ofפְּעוֹרPe/ORPeorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־הִטַּהַרְנוּlo-hit/ta/HAR/nuwe are not cleansedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom itעַדadtoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיְהִיvay/HIalthough there wasהַנֶּגֶףhan/NE/gefthe plagueבַּעֲדַתba/a/DATin the congregation ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD,

18. 18

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youתָּשֻׁבוּta/SHU/vumust turn awayהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it will beאַתֶּםat/TEMyouתִּמְרְדוּtim/re/DUrebelהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiagainst the LORDוּמָחָרu/ma/CHARand tomorrowאֶל־כׇּל־עֲדַתel-kol-a/DATwith the whole congregation ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelיִקְצֹף׃yik/TSOFHe will be angry

    But that ye must turn away this day from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

    וְאַךְve/AKHbutאִם־טְמֵאָהim-te/me/Aif is uncleanאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofאֲחֻזַּתְכֶםa/chuz/zat/KHEMyour possessionעִבְרוּiv/RUthen pass overלָכֶםla/KHEMyourselvesאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofאֲחֻזַּתa/chuz/ZATthe possession ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereשָׁכַן־שָׁםsha/KHAN-shamdwellsמִשְׁכַּןmish/KANthe tabernacle ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְהֵאָחֲזוּve/he/a/cha/ZUand take possessionבְּתוֹכֵנוּbe/to/KHE/nuamong usוּבַיהֹוָהu/vay/ho/VAbut against the LORDאַל־תִּמְרֹדוּal-tim/RO/dudo not rebelוְאֹתָנוּve/o/TA/nunor against usאַל־תִּמְרֹדוּal-tim/RO/dudo not rebelבִּבְנֹתְכֶםbiv/not/KHEMin buildingלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarמִבַּלְעֲדֵיmib/bal/a/DEbesidesמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

    Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.

    הֲלוֹאha/LOdid notעָכָןA/KHANAchanבֶּן־זֶרַחben-ZE/rachson of Zerahמָעַלma/ALcommitמַעַלMA/ala trespassבַּחֵרֶםba/CHE/remin the devoted thingוְעַל־כׇּל־עֲדַתve/AL-kol-a/DATand on all the congregation ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהָיָהha/YAfellקָצֶףKA/tsefwrathוְהוּאve/HUand heאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADoneלֹאlonotגָוַעga/VAperishבַּעֲוֺנוֹ׃ba/a/vo/NOin his iniquity

    Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUthen answeredבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadוַחֲצִיva/cha/TSIand halfשֵׁבֶטSHE/vetthe tribe ofהַמְנַשֶּׁהHam/nash/SHEManassehוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand said toאֶת־רָאשֵׁיet-ra/SHEthe heads ofאַלְפֵיal/FEthe thousands ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered, and said unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,

22. 22

    אֵלelGodאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלelGodאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּאhuHeיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelהוּאhuitיֵדָעye/DAshall knowאִם־בְּמֶרֶדim-be/ME/redif in rebellionוְאִם־בְּמַעַלve/IM-be/MA/alor if in trespassבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiagainst the LORDאַל־תּוֹשִׁיעֵנוּal-to/shi/E/nudo not save usהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)

    לִבְנוֹתliv/NOTthat we have builtלָנוּLA/nuourselvesמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto turn awayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְאִם־לְהַעֲלוֹתve/IM-le/ha/a/LOTor if to offerעָלָיוa/LAYVon itעוֹלָהo/LAburnt offeringוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand a grain offeringוְאִם־לַעֲשׂוֹתve/IM-la/a/SOTor if to offerעָלָיוa/LAYVon itזִבְחֵיziv/CHEsacrifices ofשְׁלָמִיםshe/la/MIMpeace offeringsיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּאhuHimselfיְבַקֵּשׁ׃ye/vak/KESHrequire it

    That we have built us an altar to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it;

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notמִדְּאָגָהmid/de/a/GAfor fearמִדָּבָרmid/da/VARof a thingעָשִׂינוּa/SI/nuwe have doneאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמָחָרma/CHARin time to comeיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUmight sayבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMyour childrenלְבָנֵינוּle/va/NE/nuto our childrenלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־לָּכֶםma-la/KHEMwhat have you to doוְלַיהֹוָהve-la-Adonaiwith the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel?

25. 25

    וּגְבוּלu/ge/VULfor a borderנָתַן־יְהֹוָהna/TAN-Adonaithe LORD has madeבֵּינֵנוּbe/NE/nubetween usוּבֵינֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand between youבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadאֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּןet-Hay/yar/DENthe Jordanאֵין־לָכֶםen-la/KHEMyou have noחֵלֶקCHE/lekpartבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDוְהִשְׁבִּיתוּve/hish/BI/tuso might make ceaseבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMyour childrenאֶת־בָּנֵינוּet-ba/NE/nuour childrenלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIfromיְרֹאye/ROfearingאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.

26. 26

    וַנֹּאמֶרvan/NO/mertherefore we saidנַעֲשֶׂה־נָּאna/a/SE-nalet us now prepareלָנוּLA/nuourselvesלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarלֹאlonotלְעוֹלָהle/o/LAfor burnt offeringוְלֹאve/LOand notלְזָבַח׃le/ZA/vachfor sacrifice

    Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:

27. 27

    כִּיkibutעֵדeda witnessהוּאhuit isבֵּינֵינוּbe/NE/nuamong usוּבֵינֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand youוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenדֹּרוֹתֵינוּdo/ro/te/NUour generationsאַחֲרֵינוּa/cha/RE/nuafter usלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODthat we may performאֶת־עֲבֹדַתet-a/vo/DATthe service ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himבְּעֹלוֹתֵינוּbe/o/lo/TE/nuwith our burnt offeringsוּבִזְבָחֵינוּu/viz/va/CHE/nuand with our sacrificesוּבִשְׁלָמֵינוּu/vish/la/ME/nuand with our peace offeringsוְלֹא־יֹאמְרוּve/LO-yo/me/RUthat may not sayבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMyour childrenמָחָרma/CHARin time to comeלְבָנֵינוּle/va/NE/nuto our childrenאֵין־לָכֶםen-la/KHEMyou have noחֵלֶקCHE/lekpartבַּיהֹוָה׃ba-Adonaiin the LORD

    But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.

28. 28

    וַנֹּאמֶרvan/NO/mertherefore we saidוְהָיָהve/ha/YAthat it shall beכִּי־יֹאמְרוּki-yo/me/RUwhen they sayאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usוְאֶל־דֹּרֹתֵינוּve/EL-do/ro/TE/nuor to our generationsמָחָרma/CHARin time to comeוְאָמַרְנוּve/a/MAR/nuthat we may sayרְאוּre/Useeאֶת־תַּבְנִיתet-tav/NITthe pattern ofמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁר־עָשׂוּa/SHER-a/SUwhich madeאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersלֹאlonotלְעוֹלָהle/o/LAfor burnt offeringוְלֹאve/LOand notלְזֶבַחle/ZE/vachfor sacrificeכִּי־עֵדki-edbut a witnessהוּאhuit isבֵּינֵינוּbe/NE/nuamong usוּבֵינֵיכֶם׃u/ve/ne/KHEMand you

    Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.

29. 29

    חָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itלָּנוּLA/nufrom usמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuthat we shouldלִמְרֹדlim/RODrebelבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiagainst the LORDוְלָשׁוּבve/la/SHUVand turn awayהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarלְעֹלָהle/o/LAfor burnt offeringלְמִנְחָהle/min/CHAfor grain offeringוּלְזָבַחu/le/ZA/vachor for sacrificeמִלְּבַדmil/le/VADbesidesמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמִשְׁכָּנוֹ׃mish/ka/NOHis tabernacle

    God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.

30. 30

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand when heardפִּינְחָסPi/ne/CHASPhinehasהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוּנְשִׂיאֵיu/ne/si/Eand the leaders ofהָעֵדָהha/e/DAthe congregationוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the heads ofאַלְפֵיal/FEthe thousands ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUspokeבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the children ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehוַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVit pleasedבְּעֵינֵיהֶם׃be/e/ne/HEMin their eyes

    And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפִּינְחָסPi/ne/CHASPhinehasבֶּן־אֶלְעָזָרben-El/a/ZARthe son of Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןel-Be/NE-re/u/VENto the children of Reubenוְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָדve/EL-be/NE-gadand to the children of Gadוְאֶל־בְּנֵיve/EL-be/NEand to the children ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe perceiveכִּי־בְתוֹכֵנוּki-ve/to/KHE/nuthat among us isיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERbecauseלֹא־מְעַלְתֶּםlo-me/al/TEMyou have not committedבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiagainst the LORDהַמַּעַלham/MA/altrespassהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאָזaznowהִצַּלְתֶּםhits/tsal/TEMyou have deliveredאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמִיַּדmiy/YADout of the hand ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.

32. 32

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedפִּינְחָסPi/ne/CHASPhinehasבֶּן־אֶלְעָזָרben-El/a/ZARthe son of Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוְהַנְּשִׂיאִיםve/han/ne/si/IMand the leadersמֵאֵתme/ETfromבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּמֵאֵתu/me/ETand fromבְּנֵי־גָדbe/NE-gadthe children of Gadמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofהַגִּלְעָדHag/gil/ADGileadאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיָּשִׁבוּvay/ya/SHI/vuand brought backאוֹתָםo/TAMthemדָּבָר׃da/VARword

    And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.

33. 33

    וַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVand pleasedהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְבָרְכוּvay/va/re/KHUand blessedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְלֹאve/LOand notאָמְרוּa/me/RUspokeלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTof going upעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themלַצָּבָאlats/tsa/VAto warלְשַׁחֵתle/sha/CHETto destroyאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMdweltבָּהּ׃bain it

    And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.

34. 34

    וַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they calledבְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadלַמִּזְבֵּחַlam/miz/BE/achthe altarכִּיkiforעֵדeda witnessהוּאhuit isבֵּינֹתֵינוּbe/no/TE/nubetween usכִּיkithatיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMis God

    And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.
