    Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;

    And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of IsraelלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMto the Levitesמִנַּחֲלָתָםmin/na/cha/la/TAMout of their inheritanceאֶל־פִּיel-piaccording to the command ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הֶעָרִיםet-he/a/RIMthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְאֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃ve/ET-mig/re/she/HENand their pasture lands

    And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand came outהַגּוֹרָלhag/go/RALthe lotלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתle/mish/pe/CHOTfor the families ofהַקְּהָתִיhak/Ke/ha/TIthe Kohathitesוַיְהִיvay/HIand hadלִבְנֵיliv/NEthe children ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestמִן־הַלְוִיִּםmin-Hal/viy/YIMwho were of the Levitesמִמַּטֵּהmim/mat/TEfrom the tribe ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוּמִמַּטֵּהu/mim/mat/TEand from the tribe ofהַשִּׁמְעֹנִיhash/Shim/o/NIthe Simeonitesוּמִמַּטֵּהu/mim/mat/TEand from the tribe ofבִנְיָמִןVin/ya/MINBenjaminבַּגּוֹרָלbag/go/RALby lotעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵה׃she/LOSH-es/REthirteen

    And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

    וְלִבְנֵיve/liv/NEand the children ofקְהָתKe/HATKohathהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMthe restמִמִּשְׁפְּחֹתmim/mish/pe/CHOTfrom the families ofמַטֵּה־אֶפְרַיִםmat/TE-Ef/RA/yimthe tribe of Ephraimוּמִמַּטֵּה־דָןu/Mim/mat/TE-danand from the tribe of Danוּמֵחֲצִיu/me/cha/TSIand from halfמַטֵּהmat/TEthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehבַּגּוֹרָלbag/go/RALby lotעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesעָשֶׂר׃A/serten

    And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

    And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

    The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

    And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,

    וַיְהִיvay/HIwhich wereלִבְנֵיliv/NEfor the children ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronמִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹתmim/mish/pe/CHOTfrom the families ofהַקְּהָתִיhak/Ke/ha/TIthe Kohathitesמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the children ofלֵוִיLe/VILeviכִּיkiforלָהֶםla/HEMtheirsהָיָהha/YAwasהַגּוֹרָלhag/go/RALthe lotרִאישֹׁנָה׃riy/sho/NAthe first

    Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־קִרְיַתet-Kir/YATKiriath-אַרְבַּעar/BAarbaאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofהָעֲנוֹקHa/a/NOKAnakהִיאhiwhich isחֶבְרוֹןChev/RONHebronבְּהַרbe/HARin the hill country ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsסְבִיבֹתֶיהָ׃se/vi/vo/TE/haaround it

    And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.

    וְאֶת־שְׂדֵהve/ET-se/DEbut the fields ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityוְאֶת־חֲצֵרֶיהָve/ET-cha/tse/RE/haand its villagesנָתְנוּna/te/NUthey gaveלְכָלֵבle/Kha/LEVto Calebבֶּן־יְפֻנֶּהben-Ye/fun/NEthe son of Jephunnehבַּאֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃ba/a/chuz/za/TOas his possession

    But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

    וְלִבְנֵיve/liv/NEand to the children ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestנָתְנוּna/te/NUthey gaveאֶת־עִירet-irthe city ofמִקְלַטmik/LATrefuge forהָרֹצֵחַha/ro/TSE/achthe manslayerאֶת־חֶבְרוֹןet-Chev/RONHebronוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־לִבְנָהve/ET-liv/NAand Libnahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־יַתִּרve/ET-yat/TIRand Jattirוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־אֶשְׁתְּמֹעַve/ET-esh/te/MO/aand Eshtemoaוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־חֹלֹןve/ET-cho/LONand Holonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־דְּבִרve/ET-de/VIRand Debirוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־עַיִןve/ET-A/yinand Ainוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־יֻטָּהve/ET-yut/TAand Juttahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־בֵּיתet-BetBeth-שֶׁמֶשׁSHE/meshshemeshוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesתֵּשַׁעTE/shanineמֵאֵתme/ETout ofשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoהַשְּׁבָטִיםhash/she/va/TIMthe tribesהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.

    וּמִמַּטֵּהu/mim/mat/TEand from the tribe ofבִנְיָמִיןVin/ya/MINBenjaminאֶת־גִּבְעוֹןet-Giv/ONGibeonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־גֶּבַעet-GE/vaGebaוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,

    אֶת־עֲנָתוֹתet-A/na/TOTAnathothוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־עַלְמוֹןve/ET-al/MONand Almonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesאַרְבַּע׃ar/BAfour

    Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.

    כׇּל־עָרֵיkol-a/REall the cities ofבְנֵי־אַהֲרֹןve/NE-a/ha/RONthe children of Aaronהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהshe/LOSH-es/REthirteenעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃u/mig/re/she/HENwith their pasture lands

    All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

    וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתu/le/mish/pe/CHOTand the families ofבְּנֵי־קְהָתbe/NE-ke/HATthe children of KohathהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMthe restמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the children ofקְהָתKe/HATKohathוַיְהִיvay/HIeven they hadעָרֵיa/REthe cities ofגוֹרָלָםgo/ra/LAMtheir lotמִמַּטֵּהmim/mat/TEfrom the tribe ofאֶפְרָיִם׃Ef/RA/yimEphraim

    And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־עִירet-irthe city ofמִקְלַטmik/LATrefuge forהָרֹצֵחַha/ro/TSE/achthe manslayerאֶת־שְׁכֶםet-She/KHEMShechemוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsבְּהַרbe/HARin the hill country ofאֶפְרָיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוְאֶת־גֶּזֶרve/ET-GE/zerand Gezerוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,

    And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth-horon with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּטֵּה־דָןu/Mim/mat/TE-danand from the tribe of Danאֶת־אֶלְתְּקֵאet-El/te/KEEltekehוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־גִּבְּתוֹןet-Gib/be/TONGibbethonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,

    אֶת־אַיָּלוֹןet-Ay/ya/LONAijalonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־גַּת־רִמּוֹןet-Gat-rim/MONGath-rimmonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesאַרְבַּע׃ar/BAfour

    Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּחֲצִיתu/mim/ma/cha/TSITand from halfמַטֵּהmat/TEthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאֶת־תַּעְנַךְet-Ta/NAKHTaanachוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־גַּתve/ET-gatand Gath-רִמּוֹןrim/MONrimmonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesשְׁתָּיִם׃SHTA/yimtwo

    And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; two cities.

    כׇּל־עָרִיםkol-a/RIMall the citiesעֶשֶׂרE/sertenוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶןu/mig/re/she/HENwith their pasture landsלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתle/mish/pe/CHOTfor the families ofבְּנֵי־קְהָתbe/NE-ke/HATthe children of Kohathהַנּוֹתָרִים׃han/no/ta/RIMthe rest

    All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

    And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,

    And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,

    Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.

    All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

    וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתu/le/mish/pe/CHOTand to the families ofבְּנֵי־מְרָרִיbe/NE-me/ra/RIthe children of MerariהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMthe restמֵאֵתme/ETfromמַטֵּהmat/TEthe tribe ofזְבוּלֻןZe/vu/LUNZebulunאֶת־יׇקְנְעָםet-Yok/ne/AMJokneamוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־קַרְתָּהet-Kar/TAKartahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,

    אֶת־דִּמְנָהet-Dim/NADimnahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־נַהֲלָלet-Na/ha/LALNahalalוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesאַרְבַּע׃ar/BAfour

    Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּטֵּה־גָדu/Mim/mat/TE-gadand from the tribe of Gadאֶת־עִירet-irthe city ofמִקְלַטmik/LATrefuge forהָרֹצֵחַha/ro/TSE/achthe manslayerאֶת־רָמֹתet-Ra/MOTRamothבַּגִּלְעָדbag/Gil/ADin Gileadוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsוְאֶת־מַחֲנַיִםve/ET-ma/cha/NA/yimand Mahanaimוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃ve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

    אֶת־חֶשְׁבּוֹןet-Chesh/BONHeshbonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsאֶת־יַעְזֵרet-Ya/ZERJazerוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָve/ET-mig/ra/SHE/haand its pasture landsכׇּל־עָרִיםkol-a/RIMall the citiesאַרְבַּע׃ar/BAfour

    Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.

  38. 38

    כׇּל־הֶעָרִיםkol-he/a/RIMall the citiesלִבְנֵיliv/NEfor the children ofמְרָרִיMe/ra/RIMerariלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםle/mish/pe/cho/TAMby their familiesהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMthe restמִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹתmim/mish/pe/CHOTfrom the families ofהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesוַיְהִיvay/HIwereגּוֹרָלָםgo/ra/LAMtheir lotעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵה׃shtem-es/REtwelve

    So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

    כֹּלkolallעָרֵיa/REthe cities ofהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHwithinאֲחֻזַּתa/chuz/ZATthe possession ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyוּשְׁמֹנֶהu/she/mo/NEand eightוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃u/mig/re/she/HENwith their pasture lands

    All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

  40. 40

    תִּהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nawereהֶעָרִיםhe/a/RIMthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseעִירircityעִירirby cityוּמִגְרָשֶׁיהָu/mig/ra/SHE/hawith its pasture landsסְבִיבֹתֶיהָse/vi/vo/TE/haaround itכֵּןkensoלְכׇל־הֶעָרִיםle/KHOL-he/a/RIMto all the citiesהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.

  41. 41

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENso gaveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְיִשְׂרָאֵלle/Yis/ra/ELto Israelאֶת־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץet-kol-ha/A/retsall the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAHe sworeלָתֵתla/TETto giveלַאֲבוֹתָםla/a/vo/TAMto their fathersוַיִּרָשׁוּהָvay/yi/ra/SHU/haand they possessed itוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand dweltבָהּ׃vain it

    And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

  42. 42

    וַיָּנַחvay/YA/nachand gave restיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָהֶםla/HEMthemמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVall aroundכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעa/SHER-nish/BAthat He had swornלַאֲבוֹתָםla/a/vo/TAMto their fathersוְלֹא־עָמַדve/LO-A/madand there did not standאִישׁisha manבִּפְנֵיהֶםbif/ne/HEMagainst themמִכׇּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶםmik/KOL-oy/ve/HEMof all their enemiesאֵת־כׇּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶםet-kol-oy/ve/HEMall their enemiesנָתַןna/TANdeliveredיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיָדָם׃be/ya/DAMinto their hands

    And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

  43. 43

    לֹא־נָפַלlo-na/FALthere failed notדָּבָרda/VARa thingמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERthat had spokenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַכֹּלhak/KOLallבָּא׃bacame to pass

    There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
