    Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;

    וַיְדַבְּרוּand spokeאֲלֵיהֶםto themבְּשִׁלֹהin Shilohבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofכְּנַעַןCanaanלֵאמֹרsayingיְהֹוָהthe LORDצִוָּהcommandedבְיַד־מֹשֶׁהby the hand of Mosesלָתֶת־לָנוּto give usעָרִיםcitiesלָשָׁבֶתto dwell inוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶןand their pasture landsלִבְהֶמְתֵּנוּ׃for our livestock

    And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.

    וַיִּתְּנוּand they gaveבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesמִנַּחֲלָתָםsome of their inheritanceאֶל־פִּיaccording to the commandment ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־הֶעָרִיםthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהtheseוְאֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃and their pasture lands

    And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

    וַיֵּצֵאand went outהַגּוֹרָלthe lotלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתof the families ofהַקְּהָתִיthe Kohathitesוַיְהִיand it came to passלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֵןthe priestמִן־הַלְוִיִּםfrom the Levitesמִמַּטֵּהfrom the tribe ofיְהוּדָהJudahוּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofהַשִּׁמְעֹנִיthe Simeonitesוּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofבִנְיָמִןBenjaminבַּגּוֹרָלby the lotעָרִיםcitiesשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵה׃thirteen

    And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

    וְלִבְנֵיand to the sons ofקְהָתKohathהַנּוֹתָרִיםthe remainingמִמִּשְׁפְּחֹתfrom the families ofמַטֵּה־אֶפְרַיִםthe tribe of Ephraimוּמִמַּטֵּה־דָןand from the tribe of Danוּמֵחֲצִיand from the half ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהManassehבַּגּוֹרָלby the lotעָרִיםcitiesעָשֶׂר׃ten

    And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

    וְלִבְנֵיand to the sons ofגֵרְשׁוֹןGershonמִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹתfrom the families ofמַטֵּה־יִשָּׂשכָרthe tribe of Issacharוּמִמַּטֵּה־אָשֵׁרand from the tribe of Asherוּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofנַפְתָּלִיNaphtaliוּמֵחֲצִיand from the half ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהManassehבַבָּשָׁןin Bashanבַּגּוֹרָלby the lotעָרִיםcitiesשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵה׃thirteen

    And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

    לִבְנֵיunto the sons ofמְרָרִיMerariלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםto their familiesמִמַּטֵּהfrom the tribe ofרְאוּבֵןReubenוּמִמַּטֵּה־גָדand from the tribe of Gadוּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofזְבוּלֻןZebulunעָרִיםcitiesשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵה׃twelve

    The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

    וַיִּתְּנוּand they gaveבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesאֶת־הֶעָרִיםthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהtheseוְאֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶןand their pasture landsכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁהin the hand of Mosesבַּגּוֹרָל׃by the lot

    And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

    וַיִּתְּנוּand they gaveמִמַּטֵּהfrom the tribe ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיְהוּדָהJudahוּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofשִׁמְעוֹןSimeonאֵת־הֶעָרִיםthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהtheseאֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָאwhich are calledאֶתְהֶןthemבְּשֵׁם׃by name

    And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,

    וַיְהִיand it came to passלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronמִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹתfrom the families ofהַקְּהָתִיthe Kohathitesמִבְּנֵיthe sons ofלֵוִיLeviכִּיforלָהֶםto themהָיָהwasהַגּוֹרָלthe lotרִאישֹׁנָה׃first

    Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.

    וַיִּתְּנוּand they gaveלָהֶםto themאֶת־קִרְיַתKiriath-אַרְבַּעarbaאֲבִיthe father ofהָעֲנוֹקthe Anakהִיאit isחֶבְרוֹןHebronבְּהַרon the mount ofיְהוּדָהJudahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsסְבִיבֹתֶיהָ׃was around it

    And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.

    וְאֶת־שְׂדֵהand the field ofהָעִירthe cityוְאֶת־חֲצֵרֶיהָand its villagesנָתְנוּthey gaveלְכָלֵבto Calebבֶּן־יְפֻנֶּהson of Jephunnehבַּאֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃his possession

    But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

    וְלִבְנֵיand to the sons ofאַהֲרֹןAaronהַכֹּהֵןthe priestנָתְנוּthey gaveאֶת־עִירcity ofמִקְלַטrefuge ofהָרֹצֵחַthe manslayerאֶת־חֶבְרוֹןHebronוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־לִבְנָהand Libnahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־יַתִּרand Jattirוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־אֶשְׁתְּמֹעַand Eshtemoaוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־חֹלֹןand Holonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־דְּבִרand Debirוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־עַיִןand Ainוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־יֻטָּהand Juttahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־בֵּיתBeth-שֶׁמֶשׁshemeshוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesתֵּשַׁעnineמֵאֵתfromשְׁנֵיtwoהַשְּׁבָטִיםthe tribesהָאֵלֶּה׃these

    And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.

    וּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofבִנְיָמִיןBenjaminאֶת־גִּבְעוֹןGibeonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־גֶּבַעGebaוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,

    אֶת־עֲנָתוֹתAnathothוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־עַלְמוֹןand Almonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.

    כׇּל־עָרֵיall cities ofבְנֵי־אַהֲרֹןsons of Aaronהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהthirteenעָרִיםcitiesוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃and their pasture lands

    All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

  20. 20

    וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתand to the families ofבְּנֵי־קְהָתsons of Kohathהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesהַנּוֹתָרִיםthe remainingמִבְּנֵיthe sons ofקְהָתKohathוַיְהִיand it came to passעָרֵיcities ofגוֹרָלָםtheir lotמִמַּטֵּהfrom the tribe ofאֶפְרָיִם׃Ephraim

    And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

    וַיִּתְּנוּand they gaveלָהֶםto themאֶת־עִירcity ofמִקְלַטrefuge ofהָרֹצֵחַthe manslayerאֶת־שְׁכֶםShechemוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsבְּהַרon the mount ofאֶפְרָיִםEphraimוְאֶת־גֶּזֶרand Gezerוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,

    וְאֶת־קִבְצַיִםand Kibzaimוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־בֵּיתand Beth-חוֹרֹןhoronוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth-horon with her suburbs; four cities.

  23. 23

    וּמִמַּטֵּה־דָןand from the tribe of Danאֶת־אֶלְתְּקֵאEltekehוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־גִּבְּתוֹןGibbethonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,

    אֶת־אַיָּלוֹןAijalonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־גַּת־רִמּוֹןGath-Rimmonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּחֲצִיתand from the half ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהManassehאֶת־תַּעְנַךְTaanachוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־גַּתand Gath-רִמּוֹןrimmonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesשְׁתָּיִם׃two

    And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; two cities.

  26. 26

    כׇּל־עָרִיםall citiesעֶשֶׂרtenוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶןand their pasture landsלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתto the families ofבְּנֵי־קְהָתsons of Kohathהַנּוֹתָרִים׃the remaining

    All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

  27. 27

    וְלִבְנֵיand to the sons ofגֵרְשׁוֹןGershonמִמִּשְׁפְּחֹתfrom the families ofהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesמֵחֲצִיfrom the half ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהManassehאֶת־עִירcity ofמִקְלַטrefuge ofהָרֹצֵחַthe manslayerאֶת־[גּוֹלָן]Golanבַּבָּשָׁןin Bashanוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־בְּעֶשְׁתְּרָהand Beeshtarahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesשְׁתָּיִם׃two

    And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh-terah with her suburbs; two cities.

    וּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofיִשָּׂשכָרIssacharאֶת־קִשְׁיוֹןKishionוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־דָּבְרַתDaberathוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,

    אֶת־יַרְמוּתJarmuthוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־עֵיןEn-גַּנִּיםgannimוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Jarmuth with her suburbs, En-gannim with her suburbs; four cities.

  30. 30

    וּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofאָשֵׁרAsherאֶת־מִשְׁאָלMishalוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־עַבְדּוֹןAbdonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,

  31. 31

    אֶת־חֶלְקָתHelkathוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־רְחֹבand Rehobוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּטֵּהand from the tribe ofנַפְתָּלִיNaphtaliאֶת־עִירcity ofמִקְלַטrefuge ofהָרֹצֵחַthe manslayerאֶת־קֶדֶשׁKedeshבַּגָּלִילin Galileeוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־חַמֹּתand Hammoth-דֹּארdorוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־קַרְתָּןand Kartanוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesשָׁלֹשׁ׃three

    And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammoth-dor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.

    כׇּל־עָרֵיall cities ofהַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּיthe Gershonitesלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםto their familiesשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהthirteenעִירcitiesוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃and their pasture lands

    All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

    וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתand to the families ofבְּנֵי־מְרָרִיsons of Merariהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesהַנּוֹתָרִיםthe remainingמֵאֵתfromמַטֵּהthe tribe ofזְבוּלֻןZebulunאֶת־יׇקְנְעָםJokneamוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־קַרְתָּהKartahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,

  35. 35

    אֶת־דִּמְנָהDimnahוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־נַהֲלָלNahalalוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.

    וּמִמַּטֵּה־גָדand from the tribe of Gadאֶת־עִירcity ofמִקְלַטrefuge ofהָרֹצֵחַthe manslayerאֶת־רָמֹתRamothבַּגִּלְעָדin Gileadוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsוְאֶת־מַחֲנַיִםand Mahanaimוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָ׃and its pasture lands

    And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

    אֶת־חֶשְׁבּוֹןHeshbonוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsאֶת־יַעְזֵרJazerוְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁהָand its pasture landsכׇּל־עָרִיםall citiesאַרְבַּע׃four

    Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.

    כׇּל־הֶעָרִיםall the citiesלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofמְרָרִיMerariלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםto their familiesהַנּוֹתָרִיםthe remainingמִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹתfrom the families ofהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesוַיְהִיand it came to passגּוֹרָלָםtheir lotעָרִיםcitiesשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵה׃twelve

    So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

    כֹּלallעָרֵיcities ofהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesבְּתוֹךְamongאֲחֻזַּתpossession ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבָּעִיםfortyוּשְׁמֹנֶהand eightוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃and their pasture lands

    All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

    תִּהְיֶינָהthere shall beהֶעָרִיםthe citiesהָאֵלֶּהtheseעִירcityעִירby cityוּמִגְרָשֶׁיהָwith its pasture landsסְבִיבֹתֶיהָround about itכֵּןthusלְכׇל־הֶעָרִיםto all the citiesהָאֵלֶּה׃these

    These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.

  41. 41

    וַיִּתֵּןand gaveיְהֹוָהthe LORDלְיִשְׂרָאֵלto Israelאֶת־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץall the landאֲשֶׁרwhichנִשְׁבַּעsworeלָתֵתto giveלַאֲבוֹתָםto their fathersוַיִּרָשׁוּהָand they took possession of itוַיֵּשְׁבוּand they had dweltבָהּ׃in it

    And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

  42. 42

    וַיָּנַחand restedיְהֹוָהthe LORDלָהֶםto themמִסָּבִיבall aroundכְּכֹלaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעwhich sworeלַאֲבוֹתָםto their fathersוְלֹא־עָמַדand not stoodאִישׁa manבִּפְנֵיהֶםin their facesמִכׇּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶםfrom all their enemiesאֵת־כׇּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶםall their enemiesנָתַןgaveיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּיָדָם׃into their hands

    And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

    לֹא־נָפַלnot fellדָּבָרa wordמִכֹּלof allהַדָּבָרthe wordהַטּוֹבthe goodאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרwhich spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־בֵּיתto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelהַכֹּלallבָּא׃came to pass

    There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
