   Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

   That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.

   Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

   Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

   Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

   And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

   וַיַּעַלvay/YA/also went upיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaמִן־הַגִּלְגָּלmin-Hag/gil/GALfrom Gilgalהוּאhuheוְכׇל־עַםve/KHOL-amand all the people ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarעִמּוֹim/MOwith himוְכֹלve/KHOLand allגִּבּוֹרֵיgib/bo/REthe mighty men ofהֶחָיִל׃he/CHA/yilvalor

   So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַel-Ye/ho/SHU/ato Joshuaאַל־תִּירָאal-ti/RAdo not fearמֵהֶםme/HEMof themכִּיkiforבְיָדְךָve/ya/de/KHAinto your handנְתַתִּיםne/tat/TIMI have delivered themלֹא־יַעֲמֹדlo-ya/a/MODshall not standאִישׁisha manמֵהֶםme/HEMof themבְּפָנֶיךָ׃be/fa/NE/khabefore you

   And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

9. 9

   וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOtherefore cameאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyכׇּל־הַלַּיְלָהkol-hal/LAY/laall the nightעָלָהa/LAhaving gone upמִן־הַגִּלְגָּל׃min-Hag/gil/GALfrom Gilgal

   Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.

10. 10

    וַיְהֻמֵּםvay/hum/MEMand threw into confusionיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand struck themמַכָּה־גְדוֹלָהmak/KA-ge/do/LAwith a great slaughterבְּגִבְעוֹןbe/Giv/ONat Gibeonוַיִּרְדְּפֵםvay/yir/de/FEMand chased themדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhalong the way ofמַעֲלֵהma/a/LEthe ascent ofבֵית־חוֹרֹןVet-cho/RONBeth-horonוַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand struck themעַד־עֲזֵקָהad-A/ze/KAto Azekahוְעַד־מַקֵּדָה׃ve/AD-mak/ke/DAand to Makkedah

    And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּנֻסָםbe/nu/SAMwhen they fledמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהֵםhemthey wereבְּמוֹרַדbe/mo/RADat the descent ofבֵּית־חוֹרֹןBet-cho/RONBeth-horonוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDהִשְׁלִיךְhish/LIKHcast downעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenעַד־עֲזֵקָהad-A/ze/KAto Azekahוַיָּמֻתוּvay/ya/MU/tuand they diedרַבִּיםrab/BIMmoreאֲשֶׁר־מֵתוּa/SHER-ME/tuwho diedבְּאַבְנֵיbe/av/NEby the stones ofהַבָּרָדhab/ba/RADthe hailמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERthan those whomהָרְגוּha/re/GUhad slainבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבֶּחָרֶב׃be/CHA/revby the sword

    And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

    Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

    וַיִּדֹּםvay/yid/DOMso stood stillהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunוְיָרֵחַve/ya/RE/achand the moonעָמָדa/MADstoppedעַד־יִקֹּםad-yik/KOMuntil had avenged itselfגּוֹיgoythe nationאֹיְבָיוoy/VAYVon its enemiesהֲלֹא־הִיאha/LO-hiis this notכְתוּבָהkhe/tu/VAwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofהַיָּשָׁרHay/ya/SHARJasherוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunבַּחֲצִיba/cha/TSIin the midst ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְלֹא־אָץve/LO-atsand did not hastenלָבוֹאla/VOto go downכְּיוֹםke/YOMabout a dayתָּמִים׃ta/MIMwhole

    And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

14. 14

    וְלֹאve/LOand there was noהָיָהha/YAwasכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMday likeהַהוּאha/HUthatלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore itוְאַחֲרָיוve/a/cha/RAYVand after itלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/athat hearkenedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּקוֹלbe/KOLto the voice ofאִישׁisha manכִּיkiforיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנִלְחָםnil/CHAMfoughtלְיִשְׂרָאֵל׃le/Yis/ra/ELfor Israel

    And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

15. 15

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himאֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶהel-ham/ma/cha/NEto the campהַגִּלְגָּלָה׃hag/Gil/GA/laat Gilgal

    And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

16. 16

    וַיָּנֻסוּvay/ya/NU/subut fledחֲמֵשֶׁתcha/ME/shetfiveהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיֵּחָבְאוּvay/ye/cha/ve/Uand they hid themselvesבַמְּעָרָהvam/me/a/RAin the caveבְּמַקֵּדָה׃be/Mak/ke/DAat Makkedah

    But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.

    וַיֻּגַּדvay/yug/GADand it was toldלִיהוֹשֻׁעַLi/ho/SHU/aJoshuaלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingנִמְצְאוּnim/tse/Uthey were foundחֲמֵשֶׁתcha/ME/shetfiveהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsנֶחְבְּאִיםnech/be/IMhiddenבַּמְּעָרָהbam/me/a/RAin the caveבְּמַקֵּדָה׃be/Mak/ke/DAat Makkedah

    And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaגֹּלּוּGOL/lurollאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTlargeאֶל־פִּיel-pito the mouth ofהַמְּעָרָהham/me/a/RAthe caveוְהַפְקִידוּve/haf/KI/duand setעָלֶיהָa/LE/haby itאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenלְשׇׁמְרָם׃le/shom/RAMto guard them

    And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

19. 19

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאַל־תַּעֲמֹדוּal-ta/a/MO/dudo not stayרִדְפוּrid/FUpursueאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֹיְבֵיכֶםoy/ve/KHEMyour enemiesוְזִנַּבְתֶּםve/zin/nav/TEMand attack the rear ofאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאַל־תִּתְּנוּםal-tit/te/NUMdo not let themלָבוֹאla/VOenterאֶל־עָרֵיהֶםel-a/re/HEMto their citiesכִּיkiforנְתָנָםne/ta/NAMhas delivered themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godבְּיֶדְכֶם׃be/yed/KHEMinto your hands

    And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.

20. 20

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּכַלּוֹתke/khal/LOTwhen had made an endיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְהַכּוֹתָםle/hak/ko/TAMof striking themמַכָּהmak/KAwith a slaughterגְדוֹלָה־מְאֹדge/do/LA-me/ODvery greatעַד־תֻּמָּםad-tum/MAMuntil they were consumedוְהַשְּׂרִידִיםve/has/se/ri/DIMand the remnantשָׂרְדוּsa/re/DUwho remainedמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uenteredאֶל־עָרֵיel-a/REinto the cities ofהַמִּבְצָר׃ham/miv/TSARfortification

    And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.

21. 21

    וַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand returnedכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleאֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶהel-ham/ma/cha/NEto the campאֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַel-Ye/ho/SHU/ato JoshuaמַקֵּדָהMak/ke/DAat Makkedahבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceלֹא־חָרַץlo-cha/RATSdid not moveלִבְנֵיliv/NEagainst the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְאִישׁle/ISHany manאֶת־לְשֹׁנוֹ׃et-le/sho/NOhis tongue

    And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaפִּתְחוּpit/CHUopenאֶת־פִּיet-pithe mouth ofהַמְּעָרָהham/me/a/RAthe caveוְהוֹצִיאוּve/ho/TSI/uand bring outאֵלַיe/LAYto meאֶת־חֲמֵשֶׁתet-cha/ME/shetfiveהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseמִן־הַמְּעָרָה׃min-ham/me/a/RAfrom the cave

    Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.

    And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּהוֹצִיאָםke/ho/tsi/AMwhen they brought outאֶת־הַמְּלָכִיםet-ham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַel-Ye/ho/SHU/ato Joshuaוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAthat calledיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaאֶל־כׇּל־אִישׁel-kol-ishfor all the men ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־קְצִינֵיel-ke/tsi/NEto the chiefs ofאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarהֶהָלְכוּאhe/ha/le/KHUwho wentאִתּוֹit/TOwith himקִרְבוּkir/VUcome nearשִׂימוּSI/muputאֶת־רַגְלֵיכֶםet-rag/le/KHEMyour feetעַל־צַוְּארֵיal-tsav/ve/REon the necks ofהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּקְרְבוּvay/yik/re/VUand they came nearוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they putאֶת־רַגְלֵיהֶםet-rag/le/HEMtheir feetעַל־צַוְּארֵיהֶם׃al-tsav/ve/re/HEMon their necks

    And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

    And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

26. 26

    וַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand struck themיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardוַיְמִיתֵםvay/mi/TEMand put them to deathוַיִּתְלֵםvay/yit/LEMand he hanged themעַלalonחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveעֵצִיםe/TSIMtreesוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereתְּלוּיִםte/lu/YIMhangingעַל־הָעֵצִיםal-ha/e/TSIMon the treesעַד־הָעָרֶב׃ad-ha/A/revuntil evening

    And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

27. 27

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passלְעֵתle/ETat the time ofבּוֹאbothe going down ofהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוַיֹּרִידוּםvay/yo/ri/DUMand they took them downמֵעַלme/ALoffהָעֵצִיםha/e/TSIMthe treesוַיַּשְׁלִכֻםvay/yash/li/KHUMand cast themאֶל־הַמְּעָרָהel-ham/me/a/RAinto the caveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנֶחְבְּאוּ־שָׁםnech/be/U-shamthey had hiddenוַיָּשִׂמוּvay/ya/SI/muand laidאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTlargeעַל־פִּיal-pion the mouth ofהַמְּעָרָהham/me/a/RAthe caveעַד־עֶצֶםad-E/tsemuntil the veryהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.

28. 28

    וְאֶת־מַקֵּדָהve/ET-mak/ke/DAand Makkedahלָכַדla/KHADtookיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוַיַּכֶּהָvay/yak/KE/haand struck itלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revwith the edge of the swordוְאֶת־מַלְכָּהּve/ET-mal/KAand its kingהֶחֱרִםhe/che/RIMhe utterly destroyedאוֹתָםo/TAMthemוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁve/ET-kol-han/NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itלֹאlonotהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhe leftשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofמַקֵּדָהMak/ke/DAMakkedahכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAhe had doneלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofיְרִיחוֹ׃Ye/ri/CHOJericho

    And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

29. 29

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORthen passedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himמִמַּקֵּדָהmim/Mak/ke/DAfrom MakkedahלִבְנָהLiv/NAto Libnahוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand foughtעִם־לִבְנָה׃im-Liv/NAagainst Libnah

    Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

30. 30

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDגַּם־אוֹתָהּgam-o/TAit alsoבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאֶת־מַלְכָּהּve/ET-mal/KAand its kingוַיַּכֶּהָvay/yak/KE/haand he struck itלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revwith the edge of the swordוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁve/ET-kol-han/NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itלֹא־הִשְׁאִירlo-hish/IRhe did not leaveבָּהּbain itשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didלְמַלְכָּהּle/mal/KAto its kingכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAhe had doneלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofיְרִיחוֹ׃Ye/ri/CHOJericho

    And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

31. 31

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORthen passedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himמִלִּבְנָהmil/Liv/NAfrom Libnahלָכִישָׁהla/KHI/shato Lachishוַיִּחַןvay/YI/chanand encampedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst itוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand he foughtבָּהּ׃baagainst it

    And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:

32. 32

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־לָכִישׁet-La/KHISHLachishבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּלְכְּדָהּvay/yil/ke/DAwho took itבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondוַיַּכֶּהָvay/yak/KE/haand struck itלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revwith the edge of the swordוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁve/ET-kol-han/NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he had doneלְלִבְנָה׃le/Liv/NAto Libnah

    And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

33. 33

    אָזazthenעָלָהa/LAcame upהֹרָםHo/RAMHoramמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofגֶּזֶרGE/zerGezerלַעְזֹרla/ZORto helpאֶת־לָכִישׁet-La/KHISHLachishוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand struck himיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְאֶת־עַמּוֹve/ET-am/MOand his peopleעַד־בִּלְתִּיad-bil/TIuntil notהִשְׁאִיר־לוֹhish/IR-lohe had left himשָׂרִיד׃sa/RIDa survivor

    Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.

34. 34

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORthen passedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himמִלָּכִישׁmil/La/KHISHfrom LachishעֶגְלֹנָהEg/LO/nato Eglonוַיַּחֲנוּvay/ya/cha/NUand they encampedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst itוַיִּלָּחֲמוּvay/yil/la/cha/MUand they foughtעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haagainst it

    And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:

35. 35

    וַיִּלְכְּדוּהָvay/yil/ke/DU/haand they took itבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוַיַּכּוּהָvay/yak/KU/haand struck itלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revwith the edge of the swordוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁkol-han/NE/feshevery soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon dayהַהוּאha/HUthatהֶחֱרִיםhe/che/RIMhe utterly destroyedכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he had doneלְלָכִישׁ׃le/La/KHISHto Lachish

    And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

36. 36

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/althen went upיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himמֵעֶגְלוֹנָהme/Eg/LO/nafrom EglonחֶבְרוֹנָהChev/RO/nato Hebronוַיִּלָּחֲמוּvay/yil/la/cha/MUand they foughtעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haagainst it

    And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:

37. 37

    וַיִּלְכְּדוּהָvay/yil/ke/DU/haand they took itוַיַּכּוּהָ־לְפִי־חֶרֶבvay/yak/KU/ha-le/FI-CHE/revand struck it with the edge of the swordוְאֶת־מַלְכָּהּve/ET-mal/KAand its kingוְאֶת־כׇּל־עָרֶיהָve/ET-kol-a/RE/haand all its citiesוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁve/ET-kol-han/NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itלֹא־הִשְׁאִירlo-hish/IRhe left noשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he had doneלְעֶגְלוֹןle/Eg/LONto Eglonוַיַּחֲרֵםvay/ya/cha/REMand he utterly destroyedאוֹתָהּo/TAitוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁve/ET-kol-han/NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ׃a/SHER-bathat was in it

    And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.

38. 38

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovthen returnedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himדְּבִרָהDe/VI/rato Debirוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand he foughtעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haagainst it

    And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:

39. 39

    וַיִּלְכְּדָהּvay/yil/ke/DAand he took itוְאֶת־מַלְכָּהּve/ET-mal/KAand its kingוְאֶת־כׇּל־עָרֶיהָve/ET-kol-a/RE/haand all its citiesוַיַּכּוּםvay/yak/KUMand they struck themלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revwith the edge of the swordוַיַּחֲרִימוּvay/ya/cha/RI/muand utterly destroyedאֶת־כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁet-kol-NE/feshevery soulאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bathat was in itלֹאlonotהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhe leftשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAhe had doneלְחֶבְרוֹןle/Chev/RONto Hebronכֵּן־עָשָׂהken-a/SAso he didלִדְבִרָהLid/VI/rato Debirוּלְמַלְכָּהּu/le/mal/KAand to its kingוְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asעָשָׂהa/SAhe had doneלְלִבְנָהle/Liv/NAto Libnahוּלְמַלְכָּהּ׃u/le/mal/KAand to its king

    And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.

40. 40

    וַיַּכֶּהvay/yak/KEso struckיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaאֶת־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץet-kol-ha/A/retsall the landהָהָרha/HARthe hill countryוְהַנֶּגֶבve/han/NE/gevand the Negevוְהַשְּׁפֵלָהve/hash/She/fe/LAand the Shephelahוְהָאֲשֵׁדוֹתve/ha/a/she/DOTand the slopesוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיהֶםkol-mal/khe/HEMall their kingsלֹאlonotהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhe leftשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַנְּשָׁמָהkol-han/ne/sha/MAall that breathedהֶחֱרִיםhe/che/RIMhe utterly destroyedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.

41. 41

    וַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand struck themיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaמִקָּדֵשׁmik/Ka/DESHfrom Kadesh-בַּרְנֵעַbar/NE/abarneaוְעַד־עַזָּהve/AD-az/ZAto Gazaוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־אֶרֶץkol-E/retsall the country ofגֹּשֶׁןGO/shenGoshenוְעַד־גִּבְעוֹן׃ve/AD-giv/ONto Gibeon

    And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.

42. 42

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַמְּלָכִיםkol-ham/me/la/KHIMall the kingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְאֶת־אַרְצָםve/ET-ar/TSAMand their landלָכַדla/KHADtookיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaפַּעַםPA/amtimeאֶחָתe/CHAToneכִּיkibecauseיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנִלְחָםnil/CHAMfoughtלְיִשְׂרָאֵל׃le/Yis/ra/ELfor Israel

    And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

43. 43

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJoshuaוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himאֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶהel-ham/ma/cha/NEto the campהַגִּלְגָּלָה׃hag/Gil/GA/laat Gilgal

    And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
