Jonah 2 יוֹנָה פרק ב׳

   וַיְמַןvay/MANand preparedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדָּגdaga fishגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatלִבְלֹעַliv/LO/ato swallow upאֶת־יוֹנָהet-Yo/NAJonahוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasיוֹנָהYo/NAJonahבִּמְעֵיbim/Ein the belly ofהַדָּגhad/DAGthe fishשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוּשְׁלֹשָׁהu/she/lo/SHAand threeלֵילוֹת׃le/LOTnights

   Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

2. 2

   וַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand he prayedיוֹנָהYo/NAJonahאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godמִמְּעֵיmim/me/Eout of the belly ofהַדָּגָה׃had/da/GAthe fish

   Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidקָרָאתִיka/RA/tiI criedמִצָּרָהmits/tsa/RAout of distressלִיliof mineאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDוַיַּעֲנֵנִיvay/ya/a/NE/niand He answered meמִבֶּטֶןmib/BE/tenout of the belly ofשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolשִׁוַּעְתִּיshiv/VA/tiI criedשָׁמַעְתָּsha/MA/taYou heardקוֹלִי׃ko/LImy voice

   And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

   וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵנִיvat/tash/li/KHE/nifor You cast meמְצוּלָהme/tsu/LAthe deepבִּלְבַבbil/VAVin the heart ofיַמִּיםyam/MIMseasוְנָהָרve/na/HARand the floodיְסֹבְבֵנִיye/sov/VE/nicompassed meכׇּל־מִשְׁבָּרֶיךָkol-mish/ba/RE/khaall Your billowsוְגַלֶּיךָve/gal/LE/khaand Your wavesעָלַיa/LAYupon meעָבָרוּ׃a/VA/rupassed

   For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidנִגְרַשְׁתִּיnig/RASH/tiI am cast outמִנֶּגֶדmin/NE/gedfrom beforeעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaYour eyesאַךְakhyetאוֹסִיףo/SIFI will againלְהַבִּיטle/hab/BITto lookאֶל־הֵיכַלel-he/KHALto the temple ofקׇדְשֶׁךָ׃kod/SHE/khaYour holiness

   Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

   אֲפָפוּנִיa/fa/FU/nicompassed meמַיִםMA/yimthe watersעַד־נֶפֶשׁad-NE/fesheven to the soulתְּהוֹםte/HOMthe deepיְסֹבְבֵנִיye/sov/VE/niclosed me roundסוּףsufweedsחָבוּשׁcha/VUSHwere wrappedלְרֹאשִׁי׃le/ro/SHIabout my head

   The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

   לְקִצְבֵיle/kits/VEto the bottoms ofהָרִיםha/RIMthe mountainsיָרַדְתִּיya/RAD/tiI went downהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthבְּרִחֶיהָbe/ri/CHE/haher barsבַעֲדִיva/a/DIabout meלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverוַתַּעַלvat/TA/alyet You brought upמִשַּׁחַתmish/SHA/chatfrom the pitחַיַּיchay/YAYmy lifeיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהָי׃e/lo/HAYmy God

   I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

8. 8

   בְּהִתְעַטֵּףbe/hit/at/TEFwhen faintedעָלַיa/LAYwithin meנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDזָכָרְתִּיza/KHAR/tiI rememberedוַתָּבוֹאvat/ta/VOand cameאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youתְּפִלָּתִיte/fil/la/TImy prayerאֶל־הֵיכַלel-he/KHALto the temple ofקׇדְשֶׁךָ׃kod/SHE/khaYour holiness

   When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

9. 9

   מְשַׁמְּרִיםme/sham/me/RIMthey that observeהַבְלֵי־שָׁוְאhav/LE-shavlying vanitiesחַסְדָּםchas/DAMtheir own mercyיַעֲזֹבוּ׃ya/a/ZO/vuforsake

   They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

10. 10

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith the voice ofתּוֹדָהto/DAthanksgivingאֶזְבְּחָה־לָּךְez/be/CHA-lakhwill sacrifice to Youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatנָדַרְתִּיna/DAR/tiI vowedאֲשַׁלֵּמָהa/shal/LE/maI will payיְשׁוּעָתָהye/shu/A/tasalvationלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaiis of the LORD

    But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

11. 11

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַדָּגlad/DAGto the fishוַיָּקֵאvay/ya/KEand it vomited outאֶת־יוֹנָהet-Yo/NAJonahאֶל־הַיַּבָּשָׁה׃el-hay/yab/ba/SHAupon the dry land

    And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
