Job 8 אִיּוֹב פרק ח׳

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredבִּלְדַּדBil/DADBildadהַשּׁוּחִיhash/Shu/CHIthe Shuhiteוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

   Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

   עַד־אָןad-anhow longתְּמַלֶּל־אֵלֶּהte/mal/LEL-EL/lewill you speak these thingsוְרוּחַve/RU/achand a windכַּבִּירkab/BIRmightyאִמְרֵי־פִיךָ׃im/RE-FI/khaare the words of your mouth

   How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

   הַאֵלha/ELdoes Godיְעַוֵּתye/av/VETpervertמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjudgmentוְאִם־שַׁדַּיve/IM-shad/DAYor does the Almightyיְעַוֵּת־צֶדֶק׃ye/av/VET-TSE/dekpervert righteousness

   Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

4. 4

   אִם־בָּנֶיךָim-ba/NE/khaif your childrenחָטְאוּ־לוֹcha/te/U-lohave sinned against Himוַיְשַׁלְּחֵםvay/shal/le/CHEMHe has cast them awayבְּיַד־פִּשְׁעָם׃be/YAD-pish/AMinto the hand of their transgression

   If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

   אִם־אַתָּהim-at/TAif youתְּשַׁחֵרte/sha/CHERwould seek earnestlyאֶל־אֵלel-elGodוְאֶל־שַׁדַּיve/EL-shad/DAYand to the Almightyתִּתְחַנָּן׃tit/chan/NANmake supplication

   If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

   אִם־זַךְim-zakhif pureוְיָשָׁרve/ya/SHARand uprightאָתָּהAT/tayou areכִּי־עַתָּהki-at/TAsurely nowיָעִירya/IRHe would rouse Himselfעָלֶיךָa/LE/khafor youוְשִׁלַּםve/shil/LAMand restoreנְוַתne/VATthe habitation ofצִדְקֶךָ׃tsid/KE/khayour righteousness

   If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAthough wasרֵאשִׁיתְךָre/shi/te/KHAyour beginningמִצְעָרmits/ARsmallוְאַחֲרִיתְךָve/a/cha/ri/te/KHAand your latter endיִשְׂגֶּהyis/GEwould growמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

   Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

   כִּי־שְׁאַל־נָאki-she/AL-nafor inquire nowלְדֹרle/DORof the generationרִישׁוֹןri/SHONformerוְכוֹנֵןve/kho/NENand considerלְחֵקֶרle/CHE/kerthe searching ofאֲבוֹתָם׃a/vo/TAMtheir fathers

   For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

   כִּי־תְמוֹלki-te/MOLfor of yesterdayאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weוְלֹאve/LOand notנֵדָעne/DAknowכִּיkiforצֵלtsela shadowיָמֵינוּya/ME/nuare our daysעֲלֵי־אָרֶץ׃a/LE-A/retson the earth

   (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

10. 10

    הֲלֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemwill they notיוֹרוּךָyo/RU/khateach youיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUtellלָךְlakhto youוּמִלִּבָּםu/mil/lib/BAMand from their heartיוֹצִאוּyo/TSI/ubring forthמִלִּים׃mil/LIMwords

    Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

11. 11

    הֲיִגְאֶה־גֹּמֶאha/yig/E-GO/mecan the papyrus grow upבְּלֹאbe/LOwithoutבִצָּהvits/TSAa marshיִשְׂגֶּה־אָחוּyis/GE-A/chucan the reed flourishבְלִי־מָיִם׃ve/LI-MA/yimwithout water

    Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

12. 12

    עֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile it is stillבְאִבּוֹve/ib/BOin its greennessלֹאlonotיִקָּטֵףyik/ka/TEFcut downוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeכׇל־חָצִירkhol-cha/TSIRany grassיִיבָשׁ׃yi/VASHit withers

    Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

13. 13

    כֵּןkensoאׇרְחוֹתor/CHOTare the paths ofכׇּל־שֹׁכְחֵיkol-SHOKH/cheall those who forgetאֵלelGodוְתִקְוַתve/tik/VATand the hope ofחָנֵףcha/NEFthe godlessתֹּאבֵד׃to/VEDshall perish

    So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

14. 14

    אֲשֶׁר־יָקוֹטa/SHER-ya/KOTwhose is cut offכִּסְלוֹkis/LOconfidenceוּבֵיתu/VETand house ofעַכָּבִישׁak/ka/VISHa spiderמִבְטַחוֹ׃miv/ta/CHOwhose trust

    Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

15. 15

    יִשָּׁעֵןyish/sha/ENhe shall leanעַל־בֵּיתוֹal-be/TOon his houseוְלֹאve/LOand notיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODit shall standיַחֲזִיקya/cha/ZIKhe holds fastבּוֹboto itוְלֹאve/LOand notיָקוּם׃ya/KUMit shall endure

    He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

16. 16

    רָטֹבra/TOVgreenהוּאhuhe isלִפְנֵי־שָׁמֶשׁlif/NE-SHA/meshbefore the sunוְעַלve/ALand overגַּנָּתוֹgan/na/TOhis gardenיֹנַקְתּוֹyo/nak/TOhis shootsתֵצֵא׃te/TSEgo out

    He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

17. 17

    עַל־גַּלal-galaround a heapשׇׁרָשָׁיוsho/ra/SHAYVits rootsיְסֻבָּכוּye/sub/BA/khuare wrappedבֵּיתbeta house ofאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesיֶחֱזֶה׃ye/che/ZEhe looks on

    His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.

18. 18

    אִם־יְבַלְּעֶנּוּim-ye/val/le/EN/nuif He destroys himמִמְּקֹמוֹmim/me/ko/MOfrom his placeוְכִחֶשׁve/KHI/cheshthen it will denyבּוֹbohimלֹאlonotרְאִיתִיךָ׃re/i/TI/khaI have seen you

    If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

19. 19

    הֶן־הוּאhen-hubehold this isמְשׂוֹשׂme/SOSthe joy ofדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOhis wayוּמֵעָפָרu/me/a/FARand from the dustאַחֵרa/CHERothersיִצְמָחוּ׃yits/MA/chuwill spring up

    Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

20. 20

    הֶן־אֵלhen-elbehold Godלֹאlonotיִמְאַס־תָּםyim/AS-tamwill reject a blameless manוְלֹא־יַחֲזִיקve/LO-ya/cha/ZIKnor will He upholdבְּיַד־מְרֵעִים׃be/YAD-me/re/IMthe hand of evildoers

    Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

21. 21

    עַד־יְמַלֵּהad-ye/mal/LEHe will yet fillשְׂחוֹקse/CHOKwith laughterפִּיךָPI/khayour mouthוּשְׂפָתֶיךָu/se/fa/TE/khaand your lipsתְרוּעָה׃te/ru/Awith shouting

    Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

22. 22

    שֹׂנְאֶיךָson/E/khathose who hate youיִלְבְּשׁוּ־בֹשֶׁתyil/be/SHU-VO/shetshall be clothed with shameוְאֹהֶלve/O/heland the tent ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedאֵינֶנּוּ׃e/NEN/nushall be no more

    They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
