Job 5 אִיּוֹב פרק ה׳

   קְרָא־נָאke/RA-nacall nowהֲיֵשׁha/YESHis thereעוֹנֶךָּo/NEK/kaanyone who will answer youוְאֶל־מִיve/EL-miand to whichמִקְּדֹשִׁיםmik/ke/do/SHIMof the holy onesתִּפְנֶה׃tif/NEwill you turn

   Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?

2. 2

   כִּי־לֶאֱוִילki-le/e/VILfor the foolיַהֲרׇג־כָּעַשׂya/ha/ROG-KA/asvexation killsוּפֹתֶהu/fo/TEand the simpleתָּמִיתta/MITslaysקִנְאָה׃kin/Ajealousy

   For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

   אֲנִי־רָאִיתִיa/NI-ra/I/tiI have seenאֱוִילe/VILthe foolמַשְׁרִישׁmash/RISHtaking rootוָאֶקּוֹבva/ek/KOVbut I cursedנָוֵהוּna/VE/huhis dwellingפִתְאֹם׃fit/OMsuddenly

   I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

   יִרְחֲקוּyir/cha/KUare farבָנָיוva/NAYVhis childrenמִיֶּשַׁעmiy/YE/shafrom safetyוְיִדַּכְּאוּve/yid/dak/ke/Uand they are crushedבַשַּׁעַרvash/SHA/arin the gateוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמַצִּיל׃mats/TSILdeliverer

   His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseקְצִירוֹke/tsi/ROhis harvestרָעֵבra/EVthe hungryיֹאכֵלyo/KHELeatsוְאֶל־מִצִּנִּיםve/EL-mits/tsin/NIMand even from among thornsיִקָּחֵהוּyik/ka/CHE/hutakes itוְשָׁאַףve/sha/AFand pants afterצַמִּיםtsam/MIMthe robberחֵילָם׃che/LAMtheir wealth

   Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.

   כִּיkiforלֹא־יֵצֵאlo-ye/TSEdoes not comeמֵעָפָרme/a/FARfrom the dustאָוֶןA/venafflictionוּמֵאֲדָמָהu/me/a/da/MAand from the groundלֹא־יִצְמַחlo-yits/MACHdoes not sproutעָמָל׃a/MALtrouble

   Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

   כִּי־אָדָםki-a/DAMyet manלְעָמָלle/a/MALto troubleיוּלָּדyul/LADis bornוּבְנֵי־רֶשֶׁףu/ve/NE-RE/shefas the sparksיַגְבִּיהוּyag/BI/hurise highעוּף׃ufin flight

   Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

   אוּלָםu/LAMbut as for meאֲנִיa/NIIאֶדְרֹשׁed/ROSHwould seekאֶל־אֵלel-elGodוְאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםve/EL-e/lo/HIMand to Godאָשִׂיםa/SIMwould I commitדִּבְרָתִי׃div/ra/TImy cause

   I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

   עֹשֶׂהo/SEwho doesגְדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreat thingsוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noחֵקֶרCHE/kersearchingנִפְלָאוֹתnif/la/OTmarvelous thingsעַד־אֵיןad-enwithoutמִסְפָּר׃mis/PARnumber

   Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:

10. 10

    הַנֹּתֵןhan/no/TENwho givesמָטָרma/TARrainעַל־פְּנֵי־אָרֶץal-pe/NE-A/retson the face of the earthוְשֹׁלֵחַve/SHO/le/achand sendsמַיִםMA/yimwatersעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEon the face ofחוּצוֹת׃chu/TSOTthe fields

    Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:

11. 11

    לָשׂוּםla/SUMto setשְׁפָלִיםshe/fa/LIMthe lowlyלְמָרוֹםle/ma/ROMon highוְקֹדְרִיםve/kod/RIMand those who mournשָׂגְבוּSAG/vuare liftedיֶשַׁע׃YE/shato safety

    To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.

12. 12

    מֵפֵרme/FERHe frustratesמַחְשְׁבוֹתmach/she/VOTthe devices ofעֲרוּמִיםa/ru/MIMthe craftyוְלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂנָהve/LO-ta/a/SE/naso that cannot achieveיְדֵיהֶםye/de/HEMtheir handsתֻּשִׁיָּה׃tu/shiy/YAsuccess

    He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

13. 13

    לֹכֵדlo/KHEDHe catchesחֲכָמִיםcha/kha/MIMthe wiseבְּעׇרְמָםbe/or/MAMin their own craftinessוַעֲצַתva/a/TSATand the counsel ofנִפְתָּלִיםnif/ta/LIMthe twistedנִמְהָרָה׃nim/HA/rais swept away

    He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

14. 14

    יוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayיְפַגְּשׁוּ־חֹשֶׁךְye/fag/ge/SHU-CHO/shekhthey meet darknessוְכַלַּיְלָהve/khal/LAY/laand as in the nightיְמַשְׁשׁוּye/mash/SHUthey gropeבַצׇּהֳרָיִם׃vats/tso/ho/RA/yimat noon

    They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

15. 15

    וַיֹּשַׁעvay/YO/shabut He savesמֵחֶרֶבme/CHE/revfrom the swordמִפִּיהֶםmip/pi/HEMof their mouthוּמִיַּדu/miy/YADand from the hand ofחָזָקcha/ZAKthe mightyאֶבְיוֹן׃ev/YONthe needy

    But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

16. 16

    וַתְּהִיvat/te/HIso hasלַדַּלlad/DALthe poorתִּקְוָהtik/VAhopeוְעֹלָתָהve/o/LA/taand injusticeקָפְצָהKAF/tsashutsפִּיהָ׃PI/haher mouth

    So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאַשְׁרֵיash/REhappy isאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHthe manיוֹכִחֶנּוּyo/khi/CHEN/nuwhom reprovesאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/ahGodוּמוּסַרu/mu/SARtherefore the discipline ofשַׁדַּיShad/DAYthe Almightyאַל־תִּמְאָס׃al-tim/ASdo not despise

    Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

18. 18

    כִּיkiforהוּאhuHeיַכְאִיבyakh/IVcauses painוְיֶחְבָּשׁve/yech/BASHand binds upיִמְחַץyim/CHATSHe strikesוְיָדָוve/ya/DAVand His handsתִּרְפֶּינָה׃tir/PE/naheal

    For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

19. 19

    בְּשֵׁשׁbe/SHESHin sixצָרוֹתtsa/ROTtroublesיַצִּילֶךָּyats/tsi/LEK/kaHe will deliver youוּבְשֶׁבַעu/ve/SHE/vayes in sevenלֹא־יִגַּעlo-yig/GAshall not touchבְּךָbe/KHAyouרָע׃raevil

    He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

20. 20

    בְּרָעָבbe/ra/AVin famineפָּדְךָpa/de/KHAHe shall redeem youמִמָּוֶתmim/MA/vetfrom deathוּבְמִלְחָמָהu/ve/mil/cha/MAand in warמִידֵיMI/defrom the hand ofחָרֶב׃CHA/reva sword

    In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

21. 21

    בְּשׁוֹטbe/SHOTfrom the lash ofלָשׁוֹןla/SHONthe tongueתֵּחָבֵאte/cha/VEyou will be hiddenוְלֹא־תִירָאve/LO-ti/RAand you shall not fearמִשֹּׁדmish/SHODdestructionכִּיkiwhenיָבוֹא׃ya/VOit comes

    Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

22. 22

    לְשֹׁדle/SHODat destructionוּלְכָפָןu/le/kha/FANand famineתִּשְׂחָקtis/CHAKyou will laughוּמֵחַיַּתu/me/chay/YATand the beasts ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthאַל־תִּירָא׃al-ti/RAyou shall not fear

    At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

23. 23

    כִּיkiforעִם־אַבְנֵיim-av/NEwith the stones ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldבְרִיתֶךָve/ri/TE/khayour covenantוְחַיַּתve/chay/YATand the beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldהׇשְׁלְמָה־לָּךְ׃hosh/le/MA-lakhshall be at peace with you

    For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

24. 24

    וְיָדַעְתָּve/ya/da/TAand you shall knowכִּי־שָׁלוֹםki-sha/LOMthat at peace isאׇהֳלֶךָo/ho/LE/khayour tentוּפָקַדְתָּu/fa/kad/TAand you shall inspectנָוְךָna/ve/KHAyour foldוְלֹאve/LOand notתֶחֱטָא׃te/che/TAmiss

    And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

25. 25

    וְיָדַעְתָּve/ya/da/TAyou shall know alsoכִּי־רַבki-ravthat great isזַרְעֶךָzar/E/khayour seedוְצֶאֱצָאֶיךָve/tse/e/tsa/E/khaand your offspringכְּעֵשֶׂבke/E/sevas the grass ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

26. 26

    תָּבוֹאta/VOyou shall comeבְכֶלַחve/KHE/lachin ripe old ageאֱלֵי־קָבֶרe/LE-KA/verto the graveכַּעֲלוֹתka/a/LOTas is taken upגָּדִישׁga/DISHa sheafבְּעִתּוֹ׃be/it/TOin its time

    Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

27. 27

    הִנֵּה־זֹאתhin/NE-zotbehold thisחֲקַרְנוּהָcha/kar/NU/hawe have searched outכֶּן־הִיאken-hiso it isשְׁמָעֶנָּהshe/ma/EN/nahear itוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youדַע־לָךְ׃da-lakhknow it for yourself

    Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
