Job 4 אִיּוֹב פרק ד׳

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredאֱלִיפַזE/li/FAZEliphazהַתֵּימָנִיhat/Te/ma/NIthe Temaniteוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

   Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

   הֲנִסָּהha/nis/SAif one attemptsדָבָרda/VARa wordאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youתִּלְאֶהtil/Ewill you be wearyוַעְצֹרva/TSORbut to restrainבְּמִלִּיןbe/mil/LINwordsמִיmiwhoיוּכָל׃yu/KHALcan

   If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיִסַּרְתָּyis/SAR/tayou have instructedרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְיָדַיִםve/ya/DA/yimand handsרָפוֹתra/FOTweakתְּחַזֵּק׃te/chaz/ZEKyou have strengthened

   Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

   כּוֹשֵׁלko/SHELhim who was stumblingיְקִימוּןye/ki/MUNhave upheldמִלֶּיךָmil/LE/khayour wordsוּבִרְכַּיִםu/vir/KA/yimand kneesכֹּרְעוֹתkor/OTthat buckledתְּאַמֵּץ׃te/am/METSyou have made firm

   Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

   כִּיkibutעַתָּהat/TAnowתָּבוֹאta/VOit has comeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוַתֵּלֶאvat/TE/leand you are wearyתִּגַּעtig/GAit touchesעָדֶיךָa/DE/khayouוַתִּבָּהֵל׃vat/tib/ba/HELand you are dismayed

   But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

   הֲלֹאha/LOis notיִרְאָתְךָyir/a/te/KHAyour fearכִּסְלָתֶךָkis/la/TE/khayour confidenceתִּקְוָתְךָtik/va/te/KHAyour hopeוְתֹםve/TOMand the integrity ofדְּרָכֶיךָ׃de/ra/KHE/khayour ways

   Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

   זְכׇר־נָאze/KHOR-naremember nowמִיmiwhoהוּאhueverנָקִיna/KIbeing innocentאָבָדa/VADperishedוְאֵיפֹהve/e/FOor whereיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMthe uprightנִכְחָדוּ׃nikh/CHA/duwere cut off

   Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

   כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawחֹרְשֵׁיCHOR/shethose who plowאָוֶןA/veniniquityוְזֹרְעֵיve/zor/Eand sowעָמָלa/MALtroubleיִקְצְרֻהוּ׃yik/tse/RU/hureap it

   Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

9. 9

   מִנִּשְׁמַתmin/nish/MATby the breath ofאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/ahGodיֹאבֵדוּyo/VE/duthey perishוּמֵרוּחַu/me/RU/achand by the blast ofאַפּוֹap/POHis angerיִכְלוּ׃yikh/LUthey are consumed

   By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

    שַׁאֲגַתsha/a/GATthe roaring ofאַרְיֵהar/YEa lionוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voice ofשָׁחַלSHA/chalthe fierce lionוְשִׁנֵּיve/shin/NEand the teeth ofכְפִירִיםkhe/fi/RIMyoung lionsנִתָּעוּ׃nit/TA/uare broken

    The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

    לַיִשׁLA/yishthe old lionאֹבֵדo/VEDperishesמִבְּלִי־טָרֶףmib/be/LI-TA/reffor lack of preyוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the cubs ofלָבִיאla/VIthe lionessיִתְפָּרָדוּ׃yit/pa/RA/duare scattered

    The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

    וְאֵלַיve/e/LAYnow to meדָּבָרda/VARa wordיְגֻנָּבye/gun/NAVwas brought stealthilyוַתִּקַּחvat/tik/KACHand receivedאׇזְנִיoz/NImy earשֵׁמֶץSHE/metsa whisperמֶנְהוּ׃men/HUof it

    Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.

    בִּשְׂעִפִּיםbis/ip/PIMamid disquieting thoughtsמֵחֶזְיֹנוֹתme/chez/yo/NOTfrom the visions ofלָיְלָהLAY/lanightבִּנְפֹלbin/FOLwhen fallsתַּרְדֵּמָהtar/de/MAdeep sleepעַל־אֲנָשִׁים׃al-a/na/SHIMon men

    In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,

14. 14

    פַּחַדPA/chaddreadקְרָאַנִיke/ra/a/NIcame upon meוּרְעָדָהu/re/a/DAand tremblingוְרֹבve/ROVand allעַצְמוֹתַיats/mo/TAYmy bonesהִפְחִיד׃hif/CHIDmade to tremble

    Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

15. 15

    וְרוּחַve/RU/achthen a spiritעַל־פָּנַיal-pa/NAYbefore my faceיַחֲלֹףya/cha/LOFpassedתְּסַמֵּרte/sam/MERstood upשַׂעֲרַתsa/a/RATthe hair ofבְּשָׂרִי׃be/sa/RImy flesh

    Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

    יַעֲמֹדya/a/MODit stood stillוְלֹא־אַכִּירve/LO-ak/KIRbut I could not discernמַרְאֵהוּmar/E/huits appearanceתְּמוּנָהte/mu/NAa formלְנֶגֶדle/NE/gedbeforeעֵינָיe/NAYmy eyesדְּמָמָהde/ma/MAthere was silenceוָקוֹלva/KOLand a voiceאֶשְׁמָע׃esh/MAI heard

    It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

    הַאֱנוֹשׁha/e/NOSHshall mortal manמֵאֱלוֹהַּme/e/LO/ahthan Godיִצְדָּקyits/DAKbe more righteousאִםimshallמֵעֹשֵׂהוּme/O/SE/huthan his Makerיִטְהַר־גָּבֶר׃yit/HAR-GA/vera man be more pure

    Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

18. 18

    הֵןhenbeholdבַּעֲבָדָיוba/a/va/DAYVin His servantsלֹאlonotיַאֲמִיןya/a/MINHe puts trustוּבְמַלְאָכָיוu/ve/mal/a/KHAYVand His angelsיָשִׂיםya/SIMHe charges withתׇּהֳלָה׃to/ho/LAerror

    Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

19. 19

    אַףafhow much moreשֹׁכְנֵיshokh/NEthose who dwell inבָתֵּי־חֹמֶרvat/TE-CHO/merhouses of clayאֲשֶׁר־בֶּעָפָרa/SHER-be/a/FARwhose is in the dustיְסוֹדָםye/so/DAMfoundationיְדַכְּאוּםye/dak/ke/UMwho are crushedלִפְנֵי־עָשׁ׃lif/NE-ashbefore the moth

    How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

20. 20

    מִבֹּקֶרmib/BO/kerbetween morningלָעֶרֶבla/E/revand eveningיֻכַּתּוּyuk/KAT/tuthey are destroyedמִבְּלִיmib/be/LIwithoutמֵשִׂיםme/SIManyone regardingלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverיֹאבֵדוּ׃yo/VE/duthey perish

    They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

21. 21

    הֲלֹא־נִסַּעha/LO-nis/SAis not pulled upיִתְרָםyit/RAMtheir tent cordבָּםbamin themיָמוּתוּya/MU/tuthey dieוְלֹאve/LOand notבְחׇכְמָה׃ve/chokh/MAin wisdom

    Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
