Job 36 אִיּוֹב פרק ל״ו

   וַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand continuedאֱלִיהוּאE/li/HUElihuוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

   Elihu also proceeded, and said,

   כַּתַּר־לִיkat/TAR-liwait for meזְעֵירze/ERa littleוַאֲחַוֶּךָּva/a/chav/VEK/kaand I will show youכִּיkiforעוֹדodyetלֶאֱלוֹהַּle/e/LO/ahon behalf of Godמִלִּים׃mil/LIMwords

   Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

3. 3

   אֶשָּׂאes/SAI will bringדֵעִיde/Imy knowledgeלְמֵרָחוֹקle/me/ra/CHOKfrom afarוּלְפֹעֲלִיu/Le/fo/a/LIand to my Makerאֶתֵּן־צֶדֶק׃et/TEN-TSE/dekwill ascribe righteousness

   I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

4. 4

   כִּי־אׇמְנָםki-om/NAMfor trulyלֹא־שֶׁקֶרlo-SHE/kerare not falseמִלָּיmil/LAYmy wordsתְּמִיםte/MIMone complete inדֵּעוֹתde/OTknowledgeעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHis with you

   For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

   הֶן־אֵלhen-elbehold Godכַּבִּירkab/BIRis mightyוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמְאָסyim/ASHe despisesכַּבִּירkab/BIRHe is mighty inכֹּחַKO/achstrength ofלֵב׃levheart

   Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

6. 6

   לֹא־יְחַיֶּהlo-ye/chay/YEHe does not keep aliveרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedוּמִשְׁפַּטu/mish/PATand the right ofעֲנִיִּיםa/niy/YIMthe afflictedיִתֵּן׃yit/TENHe gives

   He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

   לֹא־יִגְרַעlo-yig/RAHe does not withdrawמִצַּדִּיקmits/tsad/DIKfrom the righteousעֵינָיוe/NAYVHis eyesוְאֶת־מְלָכִיםve/ET-me/la/KHIMbut with kingsלַכִּסֵּאlak/kis/SEto the throneוַיֹּשִׁיבֵםvay/yo/shi/VEMand He seats themלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverוַיִּגְבָּהוּ׃vay/yig/BA/huand they are exalted

   He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

   וְאִם־אֲסוּרִיםve/IM-a/su/RIMand if they are boundבַּזִּקִּיםbaz/zik/KIMin fettersיִלָּכְדוּןyil/la/khe/DUNare caughtבְּחַבְלֵי־עֹנִי׃be/chav/LE-O/niin cords of affliction

   And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

9. 9

   וַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDthen He declaresלָהֶםla/HEMto themפׇּעֳלָםpo/o/LAMtheir deedsוּפִשְׁעֵיהֶםu/fish/e/HEMand their transgressionsכִּיkithatיִתְגַּבָּרוּ׃yit/gab/BA/ruthey have behaved arrogantly

   Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

10. 10

    וַיִּגֶלvay/YI/geland He opensאׇזְנָםoz/NAMtheir earלַמּוּסָרlam/mu/SARto instructionוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand commandsכִּי־יְשׁוּבוּןki-ye/shu/VUNthat they returnמֵאָוֶן׃me/A/venfrom iniquity

    He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11. 11

    אִם־יִשְׁמְעוּim-yish/me/Uif they listenוְיַעֲבֹדוּve/ya/a/VO/duand serveיְכַלּוּye/khal/LUthey will completeיְמֵיהֶםye/me/HEMtheir daysבַּטּוֹבbat/TOVin prosperityוּשְׁנֵיהֶםu/she/ne/HEMand their yearsבַּנְּעִימִים׃ban/ne/i/MIMin pleasures

    If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12. 12

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey listenבְּשֶׁלַחbe/SHE/lachby the swordיַעֲבֹרוּya/a/VO/ruthey passוְיִגְוְעוּve/yig/ve/Uand they dieבִּבְלִי־דָעַת׃biv/LI-DA/atwithout knowledge

    But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

13. 13

    וְחַנְפֵי־לֵבve/chan/FE-levbut the godless in heartיָשִׂימוּya/SI/mulay upאָףafangerלֹאlonotיְשַׁוְּעוּye/shav/ve/Uthey cry for helpכִּיkiwhenאֲסָרָם׃a/sa/RAMHe binds them

    But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

14. 14

    תָּמֹתta/MOTthey dieבַּנֹּעַרban/NO/arin youthנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulוְחַיָּתָםve/chay/ya/TAMand their lifeבַּקְּדֵשִׁים׃bak/ke/de/SHIMamong the cult prostitutes

    They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15. 15

    יְחַלֵּץye/chal/LETSHe deliversעָנִיa/NIthe afflictedבְעׇנְיוֹve/on/YOin his afflictionוְיִגֶלve/YI/geland He opensבַּלַּחַץbal/LA/chatsin oppressionאׇזְנָם׃oz/NAMtheir ear

    He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

16. 16

    וְאַףve/AFand alsoהֲסִיתְךָha/si/te/KHAHe has allured youמִפִּי־צָרmip/PI-tsarfrom the mouth of distressרַחַבRA/chava broad placeלֹא־מוּצָקlo-mu/TSAKwith no constraintתַּחְתֶּיהָtach/TE/haunder itוְנַחַתve/NA/chatand what is set onשֻׁלְחָנְךָshul/cha/ne/KHAyour tableמָלֵאma/LEis full ofדָשֶׁן׃DA/shenfatness

    Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

17. 17

    וְדִין־רָשָׁעve/DIN-ra/SHAbut the judgment of the wickedמָלֵאתָma/LE/tayou are full ofדִּיןdinjudgmentוּמִשְׁפָּטu/mish/PATand justiceיִתְמֹכוּ׃yit/MO/khutake hold

    But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

18. 18

    כִּי־חֵמָהki-che/MAbecause wrathפֶּן־יְסִיתְךָpen-ye/si/te/KHAlest it entice youבְסָפֶקve/SA/fekby plentyוְרׇב־כֹּפֶרve/ROV-KO/ferand the greatness of a ransomאַל־יַטֶּךָּ׃al-yat/TEK/kalet it not turn you aside

    Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

19. 19

    הֲיַעֲרֹךְha/ya/a/ROKHwill sufficeשׁוּעֲךָshu/a/KHAyour wealthלֹאlonotבְצָרve/TSARin distressוְכֹלve/KHOLor allמַאֲמַצֵּי־כֹחַ׃ma/a/mats/TSE-KHO/achthe exertions of strength

    Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

20. 20

    אַל־תִּשְׁאַףal-tish/AFdo not long forהַלָּיְלָהhal/LAY/lathe nightלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTwhen go upעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesתַּחְתָּם׃tach/TAMin their place

    Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

21. 21

    הִשָּׁמֶרhish/SHA/mertake heedאַל־תֵּפֶןal-TE/fendo not turnאֶל־אָוֶןel-A/vento iniquityכִּי־עַל־זֶהki-al-zefor thisבָּחַרְתָּba/CHAR/tayou have chosenמֵעֹנִי׃me/O/nirather than affliction

    Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

22. 22

    הֶן־אֵלhen-elbehold Godיַשְׂגִּיבyas/GIVis exaltedבְּכֹחוֹbe/kho/CHOin His powerמִיmiwhoכָמֹהוּkha/MO/hulike Himמוֹרֶה׃mo/REis a teacher

    Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

23. 23

    מִי־פָקַדmi-fa/KADwho has appointedעָלָיוa/LAYVfor Himדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOHis wayוּמִי־אָמַרu/MI-a/MARor who has saidפָּעַלְתָּpa/AL/taYou have doneעַוְלָה׃av/LAinjustice

    Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

24. 24

    זְכֹרze/KHORrememberכִּי־תַשְׂגִּיאki-tas/GIthat you extolפׇעֳלוֹfo/o/LOHis workאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשֹׁרְרוּshor/RUhave sungאֲנָשִׁים׃a/na/SHIMmen

    Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

25. 25

    כׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMall menחָזוּ־בוֹCHA/zu-vohave looked on itאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHmanיַבִּיטyab/BITbeholdsמֵרָחוֹק׃me/ra/CHOKfrom afar

    Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

26. 26

    הֶן־אֵלhen-elbehold Godשַׂגִּיאsag/GIis greatוְלֹאve/LOand notנֵדָעne/DAwe know Himמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe number ofשָׁנָיוsha/NAYVHis yearsוְלֹא־חֵקֶר׃ve/LO-CHE/kerand is unsearchable

    Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

27. 27

    כִּיkiforיְגָרַעye/ga/RAHe draws upנִטְפֵי־מָיִםnit/FE-MA/yimdrops of waterיָזקּוּyaz/KUthey distilמָטָרma/TARrainלְאֵדוֹ׃le/e/DOfrom His mist

    For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

28. 28

    אֲשֶׁר־יִזְּלוּa/SHER-yiz/ze/LUwhich pour downשְׁחָקִיםshe/cha/KIMthe skiesיִרְעֲפוּyir/a/FUdripעֲלֵיa/LEonאָדָםa/DAMmanרָב׃ravabundantly

    Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

29. 29

    אַףafindeedאִם־יָבִיןim-ya/VINcan one understandמִפְרְשֵׂי־עָבmif/re/SE-avthe spreadings of the cloudsתְּשֻׁאוֹתte/shu/OTthe crashings ofסֻכָּתוֹ׃suk/ka/TOHis pavilion

    Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

30. 30

    הֵן־פָּרַשׂhen-pa/RASbehold He spreadsעָלָיוa/LAYVabout Himאוֹרוֹo/ROHis lightוְשׇׁרְשֵׁיve/shor/SHEand the roots ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaכִּסָּה׃kis/SAHe covers

    Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

31. 31

    כִּי־בָםki-vamfor by theseיָדִיןya/DINHe judgesעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesיִתֶּן־אֹכֶלyit/TEN-O/khelHe gives foodלְמַכְבִּיר׃le/makh/BIRin abundance

    For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

32. 32

    עַל־כַּפַּיִםal-kap/PA/yimover His palmsכִּסָּה־אוֹרkis/SA-orHe covers the lightוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commands itעָלֶיהָa/LE/haconcerning itבְמַפְגִּיעַ׃ve/maf/GI/ato strike

    With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

33. 33

    יַגִּידyag/GIDdeclaresעָלָיוa/LAYVabout Himרֵעוֹre/OHis thunderמִקְנֶהmik/NEthe cattleאַףafalsoעַל־עוֹלֶה׃al-o/LEconcerning what rises

    The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
