Job 32 אִיּוֹב פרק ל״ב

   וַיִּשְׁבְּתוּvay/yish/be/TUand ceasedשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthreeהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseמֵעֲנוֹתme/a/NOTfrom answeringאֶת־אִיּוֹבet-Iy/YOVJobכִּיkibecauseהוּאhuheצַדִּיקtsad/DIKwas righteousבְּעֵינָיו׃be/e/NAYVin his eyes

   So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2. 2

   וַיִּחַרvay/YI/charthen was kindledאַףafthe anger ofאֱלִיהוּאE/li/HUElihuבֶן־בַּרַכְאֵלven-Ba/rakh/ELthe son of Barachelהַבּוּזִיhab/Bu/ZIthe Buziteמִמִּשְׁפַּחַתmim/mish/PA/chatof the family ofרָםRamRamבְּאִיּוֹבbe/Iy/YOVagainst Jobחָרָהcha/RAwas kindledאַפּוֹap/POhis angerעַל־צַדְּקוֹal-tsad/de/KObecause he justifiedנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhimselfמֵאֱלֹהִים׃me/e/lo/HIMrather than God

   Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

   וּבִשְׁלֹשֶׁתu/vish/LO/shetand against the three ofרֵעָיוre/AYVhis friendsחָרָהcha/RAwas kindledאַפּוֹap/POhis angerעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־מָצְאוּlo-ma/tse/Uthey had found noמַעֲנֶהma/a/NEanswerוַיַּרְשִׁיעוּvay/yar/SHI/uand yet had condemnedאֶת־אִיּוֹב׃et-Iy/YOVJob

   Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

   וֶאֱלִיהוּVe/e/li/HUand Elihuחִכָּהchik/KAhad waited forאֶת־אִיּוֹבet-Iy/YOVJobבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMwith wordsכִּיkibecauseזְקֵנִים־הֵמָּהze/ke/NIM-HEM/mathey were olderמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuthan heלְיָמִים׃le/ya/MIMin days

   Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.

   וַיַּרְאvay/YARand when sawאֱלִיהוּאE/li/HUElihuכִּי־אֵיןki-enthat there was noמַעֲנֶהma/a/NEanswerבְּפִיbe/FIin the mouth ofשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthe threeהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menוַיִּחַרvay/YI/charwas kindledאַפּוֹ׃ap/POhis anger

   When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredאֱלִיהוּאE/li/HUElihuבֶן־בַּרַכְאֵלven-Ba/rakh/ELthe son of Barachelהַבּוּזִיhab/Bu/ZIthe Buziteוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidצָעִירtsa/IRyoungאֲנִיa/NIam Iלְיָמִיםle/ya/MIMin daysוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youיְשִׁישִׁיםye/shi/SHIMare agedעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeזָחַלְתִּיza/CHAL/tiI was timidוָאִירָאva/i/RAand I fearedמֵחַוֺּתme/chav/VOTto declareדֵּעִיde/Imy opinionאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMto you

   And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

   אָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidיָמִיםya/MIMdaysיְדַבֵּרוּye/dab/BE/rushould speakוְרֹבve/ROVand the multitude ofשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsיֹדִיעוּyo/DI/ushould teachחׇכְמָה׃chokh/MAwisdom

   I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

8. 8

   אָכֵןa/KHENsurelyרוּחַ־הִיאRU/ach-hiit is a spiritבֶאֱנוֹשׁve/e/NOSHin manוְנִשְׁמַתve/nish/MATand the breath ofשַׁדַּיShad/DAYthe Almightyתְּבִינֵם׃te/vi/NEMgives them understanding

   But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

9. 9

   לֹא־רַבִּיםlo-rab/BIMthe great are notיֶחְכָּמוּyech/KA/muwiseוּזְקֵנִיםu/ze/ke/NIMnor the agedיָבִינוּya/VI/nuwho understandמִשְׁפָּט׃mish/PATjudgment

   Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

10. 10

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidשִׁמְעָה־לִּיshim/A-lilisten to meאֲחַוֶּהa/chav/VEI will declareדֵעִיde/Imy opinionאַף־אָנִי׃af-A/niI also

    Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

11. 11

    הֵןhenbeholdהוֹחַלְתִּיho/CHAL/tiI waitedלְדִבְרֵיכֶםle/div/re/KHEMfor your wordsאָזִיןa/ZINI listenedעַד־תְּבוּנֹתֵיכֶםad-te/vu/no/te/KHEMto your reasoningsעַד־תַּחְקְרוּןad-tach/ke/RUNwhile you searched outמִלִּין׃mil/LINwords

    Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.

12. 12

    וְעָדֵיכֶםve/a/de/KHEMand to youאֶתְבּוֹנָןet/bo/NANI gave attentionוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֵיןenthere was noneלְאִיּוֹבLe/iy/YOVJobמוֹכִיחַmo/KHI/achwho refutedעוֹנֶהo/NEansweringאֲמָרָיוa/ma/RAYVhis wordsמִכֶּם׃mik/KEMamong you

    Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:

13. 13

    פֶּן־תֹּאמְרוּpen-TO/me/rulest you sayמָצָאנוּma/TSA/nuwe have foundחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomאֵלelGodיִדְּפֶנּוּyid/de/FEN/numay vanquish himלֹא־אִישׁ׃lo-ishnot man

    Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

14. 14

    וְלֹא־עָרַךְve/LO-a/RAKHhe has not directedאֵלַיe/LAYto meמִלִּיןmil/LINwordsוּבְאִמְרֵיכֶםu/ve/im/re/KHEMand with your speechesלֹאlonotאֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ׃a/shi/VEN/nuI will answer him

    Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.

15. 15

    חַתּוּCHAT/tuthey are dismayedלֹא־עָנוּlo-A/nuthey answer noעוֹדodmoreהֶעְתִּיקוּhe/TI/kuhave leftמֵהֶםme/HEMthemמִלִּים׃mil/LIMwords

    They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

16. 16

    וְהוֹחַלְתִּיve/ho/CHAL/tiand shall I waitכִּי־לֹאki-lobecause notיְדַבֵּרוּye/dab/BE/ruthey speakכִּיkibecauseעָמְדוּa/me/DUthey standלֹא־עָנוּlo-A/nuthey answer noעוֹד׃odmore

    When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

17. 17

    אַעֲנֶהa/a/NEI will answerאַף־אֲנִיaf-a/NII alsoחֶלְקִיchel/KImy shareאֲחַוֶּהa/chav/VEI will declareדֵעִיde/Imy opinionאַף־אָנִי׃af-A/niI also

    I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforמָלֵתִיma/LE/tiI am full ofמִלִּיםmil/LIMwordsהֱצִיקַתְנִיhe/tsi/KAT/niconstrains meרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofבִּטְנִי׃bit/NImy belly

    For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

19. 19

    הִנֵּה־בִטְנִיhin/NE-vit/NIbehold my bellyכְּיַיִןke/YA/yinis like wineלֹא־יִפָּתֵחַlo-yip/pa/TE/achthat is not openedכְּאֹבוֹתke/o/VOTlike wineskinsחֲדָשִׁיםcha/da/SHIMnewיִבָּקֵעַ׃yib/ba/KE/ait is ready to burst

    Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

20. 20

    אֲדַבְּרָהa/dab/be/RAlet me speakוְיִרְוַח־לִיve/yir/VACH-lithat I may find reliefאֶפְתַּחef/TACHI shall openשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsוְאֶעֱנֶה׃ve/e/e/NEand answer

    I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

21. 21

    אַל־נָאal-nalet me notאֶשָּׂאes/SAlift upפְנֵי־אִישׁfe/NE-ishthe face of any manוְאֶל־אָדָםve/EL-a/DAMand to manלֹאlonotאֲכַנֶּה׃a/khan/NEflatter

    Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.

22. 22

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowאֲכַנֶּהa/khan/NEhow to flatterכִּמְעַטkim/ATelse quicklyיִשָּׂאֵנִיyis/sa/E/niwould soon take me awayעֹשֵׂנִי׃O/SE/nimy Maker

    For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
