כִּיbecauseיֵשׁthere isלַכֶּסֶףof the silverמוֹצָאa veinוּמָקוֹםand a placeלַזָּהָבto the goldיָזֹקּוּ׃where they fine it
Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.

בַּרְזֶלironמֵעָפָרfrom the dustיֻקָּחshall be takenוְאֶבֶןand out of the stoneיָצוּקis moltenנְחוּשָׁה׃brass
Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.

קֵץendשָׂםhe setsלַחֹשֶׁךְto the darknessוּלְכׇל־תַּכְלִיתand all perfectionהוּאheחוֹקֵרsearches outאֶבֶןstoneאֹפֶלdarknessוְצַלְמָוֶת׃and shadow of death
He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.

פָּרַץbreaks outנַחַלa river ofמֵעִם־גָּרfrom the inhabitantהַנִּשְׁכָּחִיםforgottenמִנִּי־רָגֶלof the footדַּלּוּthey are dried upמֵאֱנוֹשׁfrom menנָעוּ׃they swing
The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.

אֶרֶץthe land ofמִמֶּנָּהfrom itיֵצֵא־לָחֶםcomes breadוְתַחְתֶּיהָand under itנֶהְפַּךְis turned upכְּמוֹ־אֵשׁ׃like fire
As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.

מְקוֹם־סַפִּירthe place of sapphiresאֲבָנֶיהָits stonesוְעַפְרֹתand it has dust ofזָהָבgoldלוֹ׃of it
The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.

נָתִיבthere is a pathלֹא־יְדָעוֹwhich no knowsעָיִטfowlוְלֹאand notשְׁזָפַתּוּhas seen itעֵיןthe eye ofאַיָּה׃the vulture
There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:

לֹא־הִדְרִיכוּהוּhave not trodden itבְנֵי־שָׁחַץthe lion's whelpsלֹא־עָדָהnor has passed byעָלָיוupon himשָׁחַל׃the fierce lion
The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

בַּחַלָּמִישׁon the flintשָׁלַחsentיָדוֹhis handהָפַךְhe overturnsמִשֹּׁרֶשׁby the rootsהָרִים׃mountains
He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.

בַּצּוּרוֹתin the rocksיְאֹרִיםriversבִּקֵּעַhe cuts outוְכׇל־יְקָרand every precious thingרָאֲתָהseesעֵינוֹ׃his eye
He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

מִבְּכִיfrom overflowingנְהָרוֹתthe floodsחִבֵּשׁhe binds upוְתַעֲלֻמָהּand the thing that is hidיֹצִאbrings he forthאוֹר׃light
He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

וְהַחׇכְמָהand the wisdomמֵאַיִןwhenceתִּמָּצֵאwill it be foundוְאֵיand whereזֶהthisמְקוֹםthe placeבִּינָה׃understanding
But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

לֹא־יָדַעnot he knewאֱנוֹשׁmanעֶרְכָּהּthe price thereofוְלֹאand notתִמָּצֵאit will be foundבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofהַחַיִּים׃the living
Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

תְּהוֹםthe depthאָמַרsaidלֹאnotבִי־הִיאit is not in meוְיָםand the seaאָמַרsaidאֵיןthere is noעִמָּדִי׃with me
The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

לֹא־יֻתַּןit cannot be gotten forסְגוֹרfine goldתַּחְתֶּיהָfor itוְלֹאand notיִשָּׁקֵלit will be weighedכֶּסֶףsilverמְחִירָהּ׃its price
It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

לֹא־תְסֻלֶּהit cannot be valuedבְּכֶתֶםin the gold ofאוֹפִירOphirבְּשֹׁהַםin onyxיָקָרpreciousוְסַפִּיר׃and sapphire
It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

לֹא־יַעַרְכֶנָּהcannot equal itזָהָבgoldוּזְכוֹכִיתand glassוּתְמוּרָתָהּand the exchange of itכְּלִי־פָז׃for jewels of fine gold
The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.

רָאמוֹתcoralוְגָבִישׁand crystalלֹאnotיִזָּכֵרno mention shall be madeוּמֶשֶׁךְand the price ofחׇכְמָהwisdomמִפְּנִינִים׃is above rubies
No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

לֹא־יַעַרְכֶנָּהshall not equal itפִּטְדַת־כּוּשׁtopaz of Ethiopiaבְּכֶתֶםin the gold ofטָהוֹרpureלֹאnotתְסֻלֶּה׃shall it be valued
The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

וְהַחׇכְמָהand the wisdomמֵאַיִןwhenceתָּבוֹאthen comesוְאֵיand whereזֶהthisמְקוֹםthe placeבִּינָה׃understanding
Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

וְנֶעֶלְמָהseeing it is hidמֵעֵינֵיfrom the eyes ofכׇל־חָיall aliveוּמֵעוֹףand from the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensנִסְתָּרָה׃and kept close
Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

אֲבַדּוֹןdestructionוָמָוֶתand deathאָמְרוּthey saidבְּאׇזְנֵינוּin our earsשָׁמַעְנוּwe heardשִׁמְעָהּ׃the fame thereof
Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

אֱלֹהִיםGodהֵבִיןunderstoodדַּרְכָּהּits wayוְהוּאand heיָדַעhe knewאֶת־מְקוֹמָהּ׃its place
God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

כִּי־הוּאbecause it isלִקְצוֹת־הָאָרֶץto the ends of the earthיַבִּיטhe looksתַּחַתunderכׇּל־הַשָּׁמַיִםall the heavensיִרְאֶה׃shall see
For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

לַעֲשׂוֹתto doלָרוּחַfor the windsמִשְׁקָלweightוּמַיִםand waterתִּכֵּןhe weighsבְּמִדָּה׃with a measure
To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

בַּעֲשֹׂתוֹwhen he madeלַמָּטָרfor the rainחֹקa decreeוְדֶרֶךְand the way ofלַחֲזִיזfor the lightning ofקֹלוֹת׃thunders
When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

אָזthenרָאָהּhe saw itוַיְסַפְּרָהּand declare itהֱכִינָהּhe prepared itוְגַם־חֲקָרָהּ׃and also he examined it
Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

וַיֹּאמֶרand saidלָאָדָםfor manהֵןbeholdיִרְאַתthe fear ofאֲדֹנָיLordהִיאit isחׇכְמָהwisdomוְסוּרand to departמֵרָעfrom evilבִּינָה׃understanding
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
