Job 26 אִיּוֹב פרק כ״ו

   וַיַּעַןand he answeredאִיּוֹבJobוַיֹּאמַר׃and said

   But Job answered and said,

   מֶה־עָזַרְתָּhow have you helpedלְלֹא־כֹחַhim that is without powerהוֹשַׁעְתָּyou have savedזְרוֹעַthe armלֹא־עֹז׃that has no strength

   How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

   מַה־יָּעַצְתָּhow have you counselledלְלֹאhim that has noחׇכְמָהwisdomוְתֻשִׁיָּהand sound wisdomלָרֹבplentifullyהוֹדָעְתָּ׃you have made known

   How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

   אֶת־מִיwhomהִגַּדְתָּhave you utteredמִלִּיןwordsוְנִשְׁמַת־מִיand whose spiritיָצְאָהwent forthמִמֶּךָּ׃from you

   To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

5. 5

   הָרְפָאִיםthe deadיְחוֹלָלוּare formedמִתַּחַתfrom beneathמַיִםwaterוְשֹׁכְנֵיהֶם׃and the inhabitants thereof

   Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

6. 6

   עָרוֹםis nakedשְׁאוֹלSheolנֶגְדּוֹbefore himוְאֵיןand there is noכְּסוּתa covering ofלָאֲבַדּוֹן׃to destruction

   Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.

7. 7

   נֹטֶהhe stretches outצָפוֹןthe northעַל־תֹּהוּover the empty placeתֹּלֶהhe hangsאֶרֶץthe land ofעַל־בְּלִי־מָה׃upon nothing

   He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

   צֹרֵר־מַיִםhe binds up the watersבְּעָבָיוin his thick cloudsוְלֹא־נִבְקַעand not it is split openעָנָןa cloudתַּחְתָּם׃under them

   He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.

9. 9

   מְאַחֵזhe holds backפְּנֵי־כִסֵּהthe face of his throneפַּרְשֵׁזand spreadsעָלָיוupon himעֲנָנוֹ׃his cloud

   He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.

10. 10

    חֹק־חָגhe has compassed with boundsעַל־פְּנֵי־מָיִםupon the face of waterעַד־תַּכְלִיתuntil come to an endאוֹרthe dayעִם־חֹשֶׁךְ׃and night

    He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

    עַמּוּדֵיpillars ofשָׁמַיִםthe heavensיְרוֹפָפוּtrembleוְיִתְמְהוּand they may be astonishedמִגַּעֲרָתוֹ׃at his reproof

    The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.

12. 12

    בְּכֹחוֹwith his powerרָגַעhe dividesהַיָּםthe sea[וּבִתְבוּנָתוֹ]and by understanding hisמָחַץhe smites throughרָהַב׃the proud

    He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

13. 13

    בְּרוּחוֹby his spiritשָׁמַיִםthe heavensשִׁפְרָהhe has garnishedחֹלְלָהhas formedיָדוֹhis handנָחָשׁthe serpentבָּרִחַ׃the crooked

    By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

14. 14

    הֶן־אֵלֶּהbehold theseקְצוֹתparts ofדְּרָכָוhis waysוּמַה־שֵּׁמֶץbut how little a portionדָּבָרa wordנִשְׁמַע־בּוֹis heard of himוְרַעַםand the thunder ofגְּבוּרֹתָוof his powerמִיwhoיִתְבּוֹנָן׃who can understand

    Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
