   וַיַּעַןand he answeredבִּלְדַּדBildadהַשֻּׁחִיthe Shuhiteוַיֹּאמַר׃and said

   Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

   הַמְשֵׁלdominionוָפַחַדand dreadעִמּוֹwith himעֹשֶׂהhe makesשָׁלוֹםpeaceבִּמְרוֹמָיו׃in his heights

   Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

   הֲיֵשׁis thereמִסְפָּרnumberלִגְדוּדָיוof his armiesוְעַל־מִיand upon whoלֹא־יָקוּםdoes not ariseאוֹרֵהוּ׃his light

   Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

4. 4

   וּמַה־יִּצְדַּקhow then can be justifiedאֱנוֹשׁmanעִם־אֵלwith Godוּמַה־יִּזְכֶּהor how can he be cleanיְלוּדborn ofאִשָּׁה׃a woman

   How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

   הֵןbeholdעַד־יָרֵחַeven to the moonוְלֹאand notיַאֲהִילit shines notוְכוֹכָבִיםand the starsלֹא־זַכּוּnot they are pureבְעֵינָיו׃in his sight

   Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

   אַףmoreoverכִּי־אֱנוֹשׁfor manרִמָּהthe wormוּבֶן־אָדָםand the son of manתּוֹלֵעָה׃a worm

   How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
