מַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyמִשַּׁדַּיmish/Shad/DAYfrom the Almightyלֹא־נִצְפְּנוּlo-nits/pe/NUare not hiddenעִתִּיםit/TIMtimesוְיֹדְעָוve/yod/AVand those who know Himלֹא־חָזוּlo-CHA/zudo not seeיָמָיו׃ya/MAYVHis days
Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

גְּבֻלוֹתge/vu/LOTlandmarksיַשִּׂיגוּyas/SI/guthey removeעֵדֶרE/derflocksגָּזְלוּga/ze/LUthey seizeוַיִּרְעוּ׃vay/yir/Uand pasture them
Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.

חֲמוֹרcha/MORa donkeyיְתוֹמִיםye/to/MIMof the fatherlessיִנְהָגוּyin/HA/guthey drive awayיַחְבְּלוּyach/be/LUthey take in pledgeשׁוֹרshorthe ox ofאַלְמָנָה׃al/ma/NAa widow
They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.

יַטּוּyat/TUthey pushאֶבְיֹנִיםev/yo/NIMthe needyמִדָּרֶךְmid/DA/rekhfrom the pathיַחַדYA/chadtogetherחֻבְּאוּchub/be/Uare made to hideעֲנִיֵּי־אָרֶץ׃a/niy/YE-A/retsthe poor of the earth
They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

הֵןhenbeholdפְּרָאִיםpe/ra/IMas wild donkeysבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessיָצְאוּya/tse/Uthey go forthבְּפׇעֳלָםbe/fo/o/LAMto their workמְשַׁחֲרֵיme/sha/cha/REseeking earlyלַטָּרֶףlat/TA/reffor foodעֲרָבָהa/ra/VAthe desertלוֹlofor himלֶחֶםLE/chemfoodלַנְּעָרִים׃lan/ne/a/RIMfor their children
Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.

בַּשָּׂדֶהbas/sa/DEin the fieldבְּלִילוֹbe/li/LOhis fodder[יִקְצוֹרוּ]yik/TSO/ruthey reapוְכֶרֶםve/KHE/remand the vineyard ofרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedיְלַקֵּשׁוּ׃ye/lak/KE/shuthey gather the vintage
They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.

עָרוֹםa/ROMnakedיָלִינוּya/LI/nuthey spend the nightמִבְּלִיmib/be/LIwithoutלְבוּשׁle/VUSHclothingוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noכְּסוּתke/SUTcoveringבַּקָּרָה׃bak/ka/RAin the cold
They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.

מִזֶּרֶםmiz/ZE/remwith the rain ofהָרִיםha/RIMthe mountainsיִרְטָבוּyir/TA/vuthey are wetוּמִבְּלִיu/mib/be/LIand for lack ofמַחְסֶהmach/SEshelterחִבְּקוּ־צוּר׃chib/be/KU-tsurthey embrace the rock
They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

יִגְזְלוּyig/ze/LUthey snatchמִשֹּׁדmish/SHODfrom the breastיָתוֹםya/TOMthe fatherlessוְעַל־עָנִיve/AL-a/NIand from the poorיַחְבֹּלוּ׃yach/BO/luthey take a pledge
They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.

עָרוֹםa/ROMnakedהִלְּכוּhil/le/KHUthey go aboutבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutלְבוּשׁle/VUSHclothingוּרְעֵבִיםu/re/e/VIMand hungryנָשְׂאוּna/se/Uthey carryעֹמֶר׃O/mersheaves
They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;

בֵּין־שׁוּרֹתָםben-shu/ro/TAMamong their terracesיַצְהִירוּyats/HI/ruthey make oilיְקָבִיםye/ka/VIMwinepressesדָּרְכוּda/re/KHUthey treadוַיִּצְמָאוּ׃vay/yits/MA/uyet suffer thirst
Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

מֵעִירme/IRfrom the cityמְתִיםme/TIMmenיִנְאָקוּyin/A/kuthey groanוְנֶפֶשׁ־חֲלָלִיםve/NE/fesh-cha/la/LIMand the soul of the woundedתְּשַׁוֵּעַte/shav/VE/acries for helpוֶאֱלוֹהַּve/e/LO/ahand Godלֹא־יָשִׂיםlo-ya/SIMdoes not chargeתִּפְלָה׃tif/LAwrong
Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.

הֵמָּהHEM/matheyהָיוּha/YUareבְּמֹרְדֵי־אוֹרbe/mor/DE-oramong those who rebel against lightלֹא־הִכִּירוּlo-hik/KI/ruthey do not knowדְרָכָיוde/ra/KHAYVits waysוְלֹאve/LOand notיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUdo they stayבִּנְתִיבֹתָיו׃bin/ti/vo/TAYVin its paths
They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

לָאוֹרla/ORat dawnיָקוּםya/KUMrisesרוֹצֵחַro/TSE/achthe murdererיִקְטׇל־עָנִיyik/TOL-a/NIhe kills the poorוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand needyוּבַלַּיְלָהu/val/LAY/laand in the nightיְהִיye/HIhe isכַגַּנָּב׃khag/gan/NAVlike the thief
The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

וְעֵיןve/ENand the eye ofנֹאֵףno/EFthe adultererשָׁמְרָה־נֶשֶׁףsha/me/RA-NE/shefwaits for the twilightלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־תְשׁוּרֵנִיlo-te/shu/RE/niwill not see meעָיִןA/yinan eyeוְסֵתֶרve/SE/terand a coveringפָּנִיםpa/NIMon his faceיָשִׂים׃ya/SIMhe puts
The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

חָתַרcha/TARthey dig throughבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin the darknessבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayחִתְּמוּ־לָמוֹchit/te/MU-LA/mothey shut themselves inלֹא־יָדְעוּlo-ya/de/Uthey do not knowאוֹר׃orlight
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.

כִּיkibecauseיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherבֹּקֶרBO/kermorningלָמוֹLA/moisצַלְמָוֶתtsal/MA/vetthe shadow of deathכִּי־יַכִּירki-yak/KIRfor they knowבַּלְהוֹתbal/HOTthe terrors ofצַלְמָוֶת׃tsal/MA/vetthe shadow of death
For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

קַל־הוּאkal-huhe is swiftעַל־פְּנֵי־מַיִםal-pe/NE-MA/yimon the face of the watersתְּקֻלַּלte/kul/LALis cursedחֶלְקָתָםchel/ka/TAMtheir portionבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landלֹא־יִפְנֶהlo-yif/NEhe does not turnדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtoward the way ofכְּרָמִים׃ke/ra/MIMthe vineyards
He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.

צִיָּהtsiy/YAdroughtגַם־חֹםgam-chomand heatיִגְזְלוּyig/ze/LUsnatch awayמֵימֵי־שֶׁלֶגme/ME-SHE/legthe waters of snowשְׁאוֹלShe/OLso Sheolחָטָאוּ׃cha/TA/uthose who have sinned
Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.

יִשְׁכָּחֵהוּyish/ka/CHE/huforgets himרֶחֶםRE/chemthe wombמְתָקוֹme/ta/KOfeeds sweetly on himרִמָּהrim/MAthe wormעוֹדodno longerלֹא־יִזָּכֵרlo-yiz/za/KHERis he rememberedוַתִּשָּׁבֵרvat/tish/sha/VERand is brokenכָּעֵץka/ETSlike a treeעַוְלָה׃av/LAwickedness
The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

רֹעֶהro/Ehe preys onעֲקָרָהa/ka/RAthe barrenלֹאlonotתֵלֵדte/LEDshe bearsוְאַלְמָנָהve/al/ma/NAand the widowלֹאlonotיְיֵטִיב׃ye/ye/TIVhe does good to
He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

וּמָשַׁךְu/ma/SHAKHyet He drags offאַבִּירִיםab/bi/RIMthe mightyבְּכֹחוֹbe/kho/CHOby His powerיָקוּםya/KUMHe risesוְלֹא־יַאֲמִיןve/LO-ya/a/MINand no one is sureבַּחַיִּין׃ba/chay/YINof life
He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.

יִתֶּן־לוֹyit/TEN-loHe gives himלָבֶטַחla/VE/tachsecurityוְיִשָּׁעֵןve/yish/sha/ENand he is supportedוְעֵינֵיהוּve/e/NE/huand His eyesעַל־דַּרְכֵיהֶם׃al-dar/khe/HEMare on their ways
Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.

רוֹמּוּROM/muthey are exaltedמְּעַטme/ATa little whileוְאֵינֶנּוּve/e/NEN/nuand are goneוְהֻמְּכוּve/hum/me/KHUand they are brought lowכַּכֹּלkak/KOLlike allיִקָּפְצוּןyik/ka/fe/TSUNthey are gathered upוּכְרֹאשׁu/khe/ROSHand like the head ofשִׁבֹּלֶתshib/BO/letan ear of grainיִמָּלוּ׃yim/MA/luthey are cut off
They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notאֵפוֹe/FOsoמִיmiwhoיַכְזִיבֵנִיyakh/zi/VE/nican prove me a liarוְיָשֵׂםve/ya/SEMand makeלְאַלle/ALnothingמִלָּתִי׃mil/la/TImy words
And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
