Job 17 אִיּוֹב פרק י״ז

   רוּחִיru/CHImy spiritחֻבָּלָהchub/ba/LAis brokenיָמַיya/MAYmy daysנִזְעָכוּniz/A/khuare extinguishedקְבָרִיםke/va/RIMthe gravesלִי׃liare for me

   My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

   אִם־לֹאim-losurelyהֲתֻלִיםha/tu/LIMmockers areעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meוּבְהַמְּרוֹתָםu/ve/ham/me/ro/TAMand on their provocationתָּלַןta/LANdwellsעֵינִי׃e/NImy eye

   Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?

   שִׂימָה־נָּאSI/ma-nagive nowעׇרְבֵנִיor/VE/nia pledge for meעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith Youמִיmiwhoהוּאhuis thereלְיָדִיle/ya/DIto my handיִתָּקֵעַ׃yit/ta/KE/awill strike

   Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

   כִּי־לִבָּםki-lib/BAMfor their heartצָפַנְתָּtsa/FAN/taYou have hiddenמִשָּׂכֶלmis/SA/khelfrom understandingעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeלֹאlonotתְרֹמֵם׃te/ro/MEMwill You exalt them

   For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.

   לְחֵלֶקle/CHE/lekfor a shareיַגִּידyag/GIDhe who denouncesרֵעִיםre/IMfriendsוְעֵינֵיve/e/NEthe eyes ofבָנָיוva/NAYVhis sonsתִּכְלֶנָה׃tikh/LE/nawill fail

   He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

   וְהִצִּיגַנִיve/hits/tsi/GA/niand He has made meלִמְשֹׁלlim/SHOLa byword ofעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesוְתֹפֶתve/TO/fetand one spat onלְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMin the faceאֶהְיֶה׃eh/YEI am

   He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.

   וַתֵּכַהּvat/TE/khahas grown dimמִכַּעַשׂmik/KA/asfrom griefעֵינִיe/NImy eyeוִיצֻרַיvi/tsu/RAYand my limbsכַּצֵּלkats/TSELlike a shadowכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of them

   Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

   יָשֹׁמּוּya/SHOM/muare appalledיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMthe uprightעַל־זֹאתal-zotat thisוְנָקִיve/na/KIand the innocentעַל־חָנֵףal-cha/NEFagainst the godlessיִתְעֹרָר׃yit/o/RARstirs himself up

   Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

9. 9

   וְיֹאחֵזve/yo/CHEZyet holds toצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOhis wayוּטְהׇר־יָדַיִםu/te/HOR-ya/DA/yimand he who has clean handsיֹסִיףyo/SIFwill increaseאֹמֶץ׃O/metsstrength

   The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

10. 10

    וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of youתָּשֻׁבוּta/SHU/vureturnוּבֹאוּu/VO/uand comeנָאnanowוְלֹא־אֶמְצָאve/LO-em/TSAand I will not findבָכֶםva/KHEMamong youחָכָם׃cha/KHAMa wise man

    But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.

11. 11

    יָמַיya/MAYmy daysעָבְרוּa/ve/RUare pastזִמֹּתַיzim/mo/TAYmy plansנִתְּקוּnit/te/KUare broken offמוֹרָשֵׁיmo/ra/SHEthe desires ofלְבָבִי׃le/va/VImy heart

    My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

12. 12

    לַיְלָהLAY/lanightלְיוֹםle/YOMinto dayיָשִׂימוּya/SI/muthey makeאוֹרorlightקָרוֹבka/ROVis nearמִפְּנֵי־חֹשֶׁךְ׃mip/pe/NE-CHO/shekhbecause of darkness

    They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

13. 13

    אִם־אֲקַוֶּהim-a/kav/VEif I hope forשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolבֵּיתִיbe/TIas my houseבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin the darknessרִפַּדְתִּיrip/PAD/tiI have spreadיְצוּעָי׃ye/tsu/AYmy bed

    If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

14. 14

    לַשַּׁחַתlash/SHA/chatto the pitקָרָאתִיka/RA/tiI have calledאָבִיa/VImy fatherאָתָּהAT/tayou areאִמִּיim/MImy motherוַאֲחֹתִיva/a/cho/TIand my sisterלָרִמָּה׃la/rim/MAto the worm

    I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.

15. 15

    וְאַיֵּהve/ay/YEand where isאֵפוֹe/FOthenתִקְוָתִיtik/va/TImy hopeוְתִקְוָתִיve/tik/va/TIand my hopeמִיmiwhoיְשׁוּרֶנָּה׃ye/shu/REN/nawill see it

    And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

16. 16

    בַּדֵּיbad/DEto the bars ofשְׁאֹלShe/OLSheolתֵּרַדְנָהte/RAD/nawill it go downאִם־יַחַדim-YA/chadwhen togetherעַל־עָפָרal-a/FARin the dustנָחַת׃NA/chatwe rest

    They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
