Job 13 אִיּוֹב פרק י״ג

   הֶן־כֹּלhen-kolbehold allרָאֲתָהra/a/TAhas seenעֵינִיe/NImy eyeשָׁמְעָהsha/me/Ahas heardאׇזְנִיoz/NImy earוַתָּבֶןvat/TA/venand understoodלָהּ׃lait

   Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.

   כְּדַעְתְּכֶםke/da/te/KHEMas you knowיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowגַם־אָנִיgam-A/nialso Iלֹא־נֹפֵלlo-no/FELnot inferiorאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמִכֶּם׃mik/KEMto you

   What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.

   אוּלָםu/LAMbutאֲנִיa/NIIאֶל־שַׁדַּיel-Shad/DAYto the Almightyאֲדַבֵּרa/dab/BERwould speakוְהוֹכֵחַve/ho/KHE/achand to argueאֶל־אֵלel-elto Godאֶחְפָּץ׃ech/PATSI desire

   Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

   וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutאַתֶּםat/TEMyouטֹפְלֵי־שָׁקֶרtof/LE-SHA/kerforgers of liesרֹפְאֵיrof/Ephysicians ofאֱלִלe/LILworthlessכֻּלְּכֶם׃kul/le/KHEMall of you

   But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

   מִי־יִתֵּןmi-yit/TENoh thatהַחֲרֵשׁha/cha/RESHbe silentתַּחֲרִישׁוּןta/cha/ri/SHUNyou would be silentוּתְהִיu/te/HIand it would beלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youלְחׇכְמָה׃le/chokh/MAwisdom

   O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

   שִׁמְעוּ־נָאshim/U-nahear nowתוֹכַחְתִּיto/khach/TImy argumentוְרִבוֹתve/ri/VOTand the pleadings ofשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsהַקְשִׁיבוּ׃hak/SHI/vulisten

   Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

   הַלְאֵלhal/ELfor Godתְּדַבְּרוּte/dab/be/RUwill you speakעַוְלָהav/LAinjusticeוְלוֹve/LOand for Himתְּדַבְּרוּte/dab/be/RUwill you speakרְמִיָּה׃re/miy/YAdeceit

   Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?

8. 8

   הֲפָנָיוha/fa/NAYVHis faceתִּשָּׂאוּןtis/sa/UNwill you lift upאִם־לָאֵלim-la/ELfor Godתְּרִיבוּן׃te/ri/VUNwill you contend

   Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?

9. 9

   הֲטוֹבha/TOVis it betterכִּי־יַחְקֹרki-yach/KORthat He should search outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִם־כְּהָתֵלim-ke/ha/TELor as one mocksבֶּאֱנוֹשׁbe/e/NOSHa manתְּהָתֵלּוּte/ha/TEL/luwill you mockבוֹ׃voHim

   Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?

10. 10

    הוֹכֵחַho/KHE/achreproveיוֹכִיחַyo/KHI/achHe will reproveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִם־בַּסֵּתֶרim-bas/SE/terif in secretפָּנִיםpa/NIMfacesתִּשָּׂאוּן׃tis/sa/UNyou lift up

    He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.

    הֲלֹאha/LOis it notשְׂאֵתוֹse/e/TOHis majestyתְּבַעֵתte/va/ETterrifyאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּפַחְדּוֹu/fach/DOand His dreadיִפֹּלyip/POLshall fallעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMon you

    Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

12. 12

    זִכְרֹנֵיכֶםzikh/ro/ne/KHEMyour maximsמִשְׁלֵי־אֵפֶרmish/LE-E/ferare proverbs of ashesלְגַבֵּי־חֹמֶרle/gab/BE-CHO/merdefenses of clayגַּבֵּיכֶם׃gab/be/KHEMyour defenses

    Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

    הַחֲרִישׁוּha/cha/RI/shube silentמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meוַאֲדַבְּרָה־אָנִיva/a/dab/be/RA-A/niand let me speakוְיַעֲבֹרve/ya/a/VORand let comeעָלַיa/LAYon meמָה׃mawhat may

    Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

14. 14

    עַל־מָהal-mawhyאֶשָּׂאes/SAshould I takeבְשָׂרִיve/sa/RImy fleshבְשִׁנָּיve/shin/NAYin my teethוְנַפְשִׁיve/naf/SHIand my soulאָשִׂיםa/SIMshall I putבְּכַפִּי׃be/khap/PIin my hand

    Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

15. 15

    הֵןhenbeholdיִקְטְלֵנִיyik/te/le/NIHe will slay me(לא)l[לוֹ]loin Himאֲיַחֵלa/ya/CHELI will hopeאַךְ־דְּרָכַיakh-de/ra/KHAYbut my waysאֶל־פָּנָיוel-pa/NAYVbefore Himאוֹכִיחַ׃o/KHI/achI will argue

    Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

16. 16

    גַּם־הוּא־לִיgam-hu-lithis also shall be to meלִישׁוּעָהli/shu/Asalvationכִּי־לֹאki-lofor notלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himחָנֵףcha/NEFa godless manיָבוֹא׃ya/VOshall come

    He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

17. 17

    שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearשָׁמוֹעַsha/MO/ahearמִלָּתִיmil/la/TImy wordsוְאַחֲוָתִיve/a/cha/va/TIand my declarationבְּאׇזְנֵיכֶם׃be/oz/ne/KHEMin your ears

    Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

18. 18

    הִנֵּה־נָאhin/NE-nabehold nowעָרַכְתִּיa/RAKH/tiI have preparedמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATmy caseיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat Iאֶצְדָּק׃ets/DAKshall be vindicated

    Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

19. 19

    מִי־הוּאmi-huwho is heיָרִיבya/RIVthat will contendעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meכִּי־עַתָּהki-at/TAfor thenאַחֲרִישׁa/cha/RISHI would be silentוְאֶגְוָע׃ve/eg/VAand die

    Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

20. 20

    אַךְ־שְׁתַּיִםakh-SHTA/yimbut twoאַל־תַּעַשׂal-TA/asdo not doעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meאָזazthenמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khafrom Your faceלֹאlonotאֶסָּתֵר׃es/sa/TERwill I hide myself

    Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.

21. 21

    כַּפְּךָkap/pe/KHAYour handמֵעָלַיme/a/LAYfrom meהַרְחַקhar/CHAKremoveוְאֵמָתְךָve/e/ma/te/KHAand Your dreadאַל־תְּבַעֲתַנִּי׃al-te/va/a/TAN/nilet it not terrify me

    Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.

22. 22

    וּקְרָאu/ke/RAand callוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIyet Iאֶעֱנֶהe/e/NEI will answerאוֹ־אֲדַבֵּרo-a/dab/BERor let me speakוַהֲשִׁיבֵנִי׃va/ha/shi/VE/niand You answer me

    Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.

23. 23

    כַּמָּהkam/MAhow manyלִיlihave Iעֲוֺנוֹתa/vo/NOTiniquitiesוְחַטָּאוֹתve/chat/ta/OTand sinsפִּשְׁעִיpish/Imy transgressionוְחַטָּאתִיve/chat/ta/TIand my sinהֹדִיעֵנִי׃ho/di/E/nimake known to me

    How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

24. 24

    לָמָּה־פָנֶיךָLAM/ma-fa/NE/khawhy Your faceתַסְתִּירtas/TIRdo You hideוְתַחְשְׁבֵנִיve/tach/she/VE/niand count meלְאוֹיֵבle/o/YEVas an enemyלָךְ׃lakhto You

    Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

25. 25

    הֶעָלֶהhe/a/LEwill a leafנִדָּףnid/DAFdrivenתַּעֲרוֹץta/a/ROTSYou harassוְאֶת־קַשׁve/ET-kashand stubbleיָבֵשׁya/VESHdryתִּרְדֹּף׃tir/DOFwill You pursue

    Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

26. 26

    כִּי־תִכְתֹּבki-tikh/TOVfor You writeעָלַיa/LAYagainst meמְרֹרוֹתme/ro/ROTbitter thingsוְתוֹרִישֵׁנִיve/to/ri/SHE/niand make me inheritעֲוֺנוֹתa/vo/NOTthe iniquities ofנְעוּרָי׃ne/u/RAYmy youth

    For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

27. 27

    וְתָשֵׂםve/ta/SEMand you putבַּסַּדbas/SADin the stocksרַגְלַיrag/LAYmy feetוְתִשְׁמוֹרve/tish/MORand watchכׇּל־אׇרְחוֹתָיkol-or/cho/TAYall my pathsעַל־שׇׁרְשֵׁיal-shor/SHEon the soles ofרַגְלַיrag/LAYmy feetתִּתְחַקֶּה׃tit/chak/KEYou draw a line

    Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

28. 28

    וְהוּאve/HUand heכְּרָקָבke/ra/KAVlike a rotten thingיִבְלֶהyiv/LEwastes awayכְּבֶגֶדke/VE/gedas a garmentאֲכָלוֹa/KHA/loeaten byעָשׁ׃ashthe moth

    And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.
