Job 11 אִיּוֹב פרק י״א

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredצֹפַרTso/FARZopharהַנַּעֲמָתִיhan/Na/a/ma/TIthe Naamathiteוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

   Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

   הֲרֹבha/ROVshould a multitude ofדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsלֹאlonotיֵעָנֶהye/a/NEbe answeredוְאִם־אִישׁve/IM-ishand should a man ofשְׂפָתַיִםse/fa/TA/yimlipsיִצְדָּק׃yits/DAKbe vindicated

   Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

   בַּדֶּיךָbad/de/KHAshould your boastingמְתִיםme/TIMmenיַחֲרִישׁוּya/cha/RI/shumake silentוַתִּלְעַגvat/til/AGand when you mockוְאֵיןve/ENshall no oneמַכְלִם׃makh/LIMput you to shame

   Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

   וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merfor you sayזַךְzakhis pureלִקְחִיlik/CHImy teachingוּבַרu/VARand cleanהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI amבְעֵינֶיךָ׃ve/e/NE/khain Your eyes

   For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

   וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutמִי־יִתֵּןmi-yit/TENoh thatאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/ahGodדַּבֵּרdab/BERwould speakוְיִפְתַּחve/yif/TACHand openשְׂפָתָיוse/fa/TAYVHis lipsעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHagainst you

   But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

   וְיַגֶּד־לְךָve/yag/GED-le/KHAand show youתַּעֲלֻמוֹתta/a/lu/MOTthe secrets ofחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomכִּי־כִפְלַיִםki-khif/LA/yimfor doubleלְתוּשִׁיָּהle/tu/shiy/YAis sound wisdomוְדַעve/DAknow thenכִּי־יַשֶּׁהki-yash/SHEthat forgetsלְךָle/KHAfor youאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/ahGodמֵעֲוֺנֶךָ׃me/a/vo/NE/khaof your iniquity

   And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

   הַחֵקֶרha/CHE/kerthe depths ofאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/ahGodתִּמְצָאtim/TSAcan you findאִםimorעַד־תַּכְלִיתad-takh/LITthe limit ofשַׁדַּיShad/DAYthe Almightyתִּמְצָא׃tim/TSAcan you find

   Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

   גׇּבְהֵיgov/HEthe heights ofשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensמַה־תִּפְעָלma-tif/ALwhat can you doעֲמֻקָּהa/muk/KAdeeperמִשְּׁאוֹלmish/She/OLthan Sheolמַה־תֵּדָע׃ma-te/DAwhat can you know

   It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

   אֲרֻכָּהa/ruk/KAlongerמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsthan the earthמִדָּהּmid/DAits measureוּרְחָבָהu/re/cha/VAand broaderמִנִּי־יָם׃min/NI-yamthan the sea

   The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

    אִם־יַחֲלֹףim-ya/cha/LOFif He passes byוְיַסְגִּירve/yas/GIRand imprisonsוְיַקְהִילve/yak/HILand calls to judgmentוּמִיu/MIthen whoיְשִׁיבֶנּוּ׃ye/shi/VEN/nucan turn Him back

    If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

11. 11

    כִּי־הוּאki-hufor Heיָדַעya/DAknowsמְתֵי־שָׁוְאme/TE-shavvain menוַיַּרְא־אָוֶןvay/YAR-A/venand He sees iniquityוְלֹאve/LOand does notיִתְבּוֹנָן׃yit/bo/NANconsider it

    For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

12. 12

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manנָבוּבna/VUVhollowיִלָּבֵבyil/la/VEVwill get understandingוְעַיִרve/A/yirwhen a colt ofפֶּרֶאPE/rea wild donkeyאָדָםa/DAMa manיִוָּלֵד׃yiv/va/LEDis born

    For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.

13. 13

    אִם־אַתָּהim-at/TAif youהֲכִינוֹתָha/khi/NO/taprepareלִבֶּךָlib/BE/khayour heartוּפָרַשְׂתָּu/fa/ras/TAand stretch outאֵלָיוe/LAYVtoward Himכַּפֶּיךָ׃kap/PE/khayour hands

    If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

14. 14

    אִם־אָוֶןim-A/venif iniquityבְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAin your handהַרְחִיקֵהוּhar/chi/KE/huput it far awayוְאַל־תַּשְׁכֵּןve/AL-tash/KENand let not dwellבְּאֹהָלֶיךָbe/o/ha/LE/khain your tentsעַוְלָה׃av/LAinjustice

    If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

15. 15

    כִּי־אָזki-azfor thenתִּשָּׂאtis/SAshall you lift upפָנֶיךָfa/NE/khayour faceמִמּוּםmim/MUMwithout blemishוְהָיִיתָve/ha/YI/taand you shall beמֻצָקmu/TSAKfirmוְלֹאve/LOand notתִירָא׃ti/RAyou shall fear

    For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

16. 16

    כִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAfor youעָמָלa/MALmiseryתִּשְׁכָּחtish/KACHyou will forgetכְּמַיִםke/MA/yimas watersעָבְרוּa/ve/RUthat have passedתִזְכֹּר׃tiz/KORyou will remember

    Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

17. 17

    וּמִצׇּהֳרַיִםu/mits/tso/ho/RA/yimand brighter than noondayיָקוּםya/KUMshall ariseחָלֶדCHA/ledyour lifeתָּעֻפָהta/U/fathough it be darkכַּבֹּקֶרkab/BO/kerlike the morningתִּהְיֶה׃tih/YEit will be

    And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

18. 18

    וּבָטַחְתָּu/va/TACH/taand you will trustכִּי־יֵשׁki-yeshbecause there isתִּקְוָהtik/VAhopeוְחָפַרְתָּve/cha/far/TAand you will look aroundלָבֶטַחla/VE/tachin safetyתִּשְׁכָּב׃tish/KAVyou will rest

    And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

19. 19

    וְרָבַצְתָּve/ra/vats/TAand you will lie downוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמַחֲרִידma/cha/RIDto make you afraidוְחִלּוּve/chil/LUwill entreatפָנֶיךָfa/NE/khayour favorרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

20. 20

    וְעֵינֵיve/e/NEbut the eyes ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedתִּכְלֶינָהtikh/LE/nawill failוּמָנוֹסu/ma/NOSand refugeאָבַדa/VADwill perishמִנְהֶםmin/HEMfrom themוְתִקְוָתָםve/tik/va/TAMand their hopeמַפַּח־נָפֶשׁ׃map/PACH-NA/feshbreathing out the soul

    But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
