Job 10 אִיּוֹב פרק י׳

   נָקְטָהna/ke/TAloathesנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulבְּחַיָּיbe/chay/YAYmy lifeאֶעֶזְבָהe/ez/VAI will give vent toעָלַיa/LAYupon myselfשִׂיחִיsi/CHImy complaintאֲדַבְּרָהa/dab/be/RAI will speakבְּמַרbe/MARin the bitterness ofנַפְשִׁי׃naf/SHImy soul

   My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

   אֹמַרo/MARI sayאֶל־אֱלוֹהַּel-e/LO/ahto Godאַל־תַּרְשִׁיעֵנִיal-tar/shi/E/nido not condemn meהוֹדִיעֵנִיho/di/E/nishow meעַלalwhyמַה־תְּרִיבֵנִי׃ma-te/ri/VE/niYou contend with me

   I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.

   הֲטוֹבha/TOVis it betterלְךָle/KHAfor Youכִּי־תַעֲשֹׁקki-ta/a/SHOKthat You should oppressכִּי־תִמְאַסki-tim/ASthat You should rejectיְגִיעַye/GI/athe labor ofכַּפֶּיךָkap/PE/khaYour handsוְעַל־עֲצַתve/AL-a/TSATand on the counsel ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedהוֹפָעְתָּ׃ho/FA/taYou should shine

   Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

   הַעֵינֵיha/e/NEhave eyes ofבָשָׂרva/SARfleshלָךְlakhYouאִם־כִּרְאוֹתim-kir/OTor as seesאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHmanתִּרְאֶה׃tir/Edo You see

   Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?

   הֲכִימֵיha/khi/MEare as the days ofאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHmanיָמֶיךָya/ME/khaYour daysאִם־שְׁנוֹתֶיךָim-she/no/TE/khaor Your yearsכִּימֵיki/MEas the days ofגָבֶר׃GA/vera man

   Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days,

   כִּי־תְבַקֵּשׁki-te/vak/KESHthat You seekלַעֲוֺנִיla/a/vo/NIfor my iniquityוּלְחַטָּאתִיu/le/chat/ta/TIand for my sinתִדְרוֹשׁ׃tid/ROSHand search

   That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?

   עַל־דַּעְתְּךָal-da/te/KHAalthough You knowכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notאֶרְשָׁעer/SHAI am wickedוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמִיָּדְךָmiy/ya/de/KHAfrom Your handמַצִּיל׃mats/TSILany who can deliver

   Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.

   יָדֶיךָya/DE/khaYour handsעִצְּבוּנִיits/tse/vu/NIfashioned meוַיַּעֲשׂוּנִיvay/ya/a/SU/niand they made meיַחַדYA/chadtogetherסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundוַתְּבַלְּעֵנִי׃vat/te/val/le/E/niyet You destroy me

   Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.

   זְכׇר־נָאze/KHOR-naremember nowכִּי־כַחֹמֶרki-kha/CHO/merthat like clayעֲשִׂיתָנִיa/si/TA/niYou have made meוְאֶל־עָפָרve/EL-a/FARand to dustתְּשִׁיבֵנִי׃te/shi/VE/niwill You return me

   Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

10. 10

    הֲלֹאha/LOdid You notכֶחָלָבkhe/cha/LAVlike milkתַּתִּיכֵנִיtat/ti/KHE/nipour me outוְכַגְּבִנָּהve/khag/ge/vin/NAand like cheeseתַּקְפִּיאֵנִי׃tak/pi/E/nicurdle me

    Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

11. 11

    עוֹרorwith skinוּבָשָׂרu/va/SARand fleshתַּלְבִּישֵׁנִיtal/bi/SHE/niYou clothed meוּבַעֲצָמוֹתu/va/a/tsa/MOTand with bonesוְגִידִיםve/gi/DIMand sinewsתְּשֹׂכְכֵנִי׃te/sokh/khe/NIYou knit me together

    Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

12. 12

    חַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeוָחֶסֶדva/CHE/sedand kindnessעָשִׂיתָa/SI/taYou have grantedעִמָּדִיim/ma/DImeוּפְקֻדָּתְךָu/fe/kud/da/te/KHAand Your careשׇׁמְרָהshom/RAhas preservedרוּחִי׃ru/CHImy spirit

    Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

13. 13

    וְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseצָפַנְתָּtsa/FAN/taYou have hiddenבִלְבָבֶךָvil/va/VE/khain Your heartיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־זֹאתki-zotthat thisעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHis with You

    And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.

14. 14

    אִם־חָטָאתִיim-cha/TA/tiif I sinוּשְׁמַרְתָּנִיu/she/mar/TA/nithen You watch meוּמֵעֲוֺנִיu/me/a/vo/NIand from my iniquityלֹאlonotתְנַקֵּנִי׃te/nak/KE/niwill You acquit me

    If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

15. 15

    אִם־רָשַׁעְתִּיim-ra/SHA/tiif I am wickedאַלְלַיal/LAYwoeלִיlito meוְצָדַקְתִּיve/tsa/DAK/tiand if I am righteousלֹא־אֶשָּׂאlo-es/SAI cannot lift upרֹאשִׁיro/SHImy headשְׂבַעse/VAfilled withקָלוֹןka/LONdisgraceוּרְאֵהu/re/Eand looking onעׇנְיִי׃on/YImy affliction

    If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;

16. 16

    וְיִגְאֶהve/yig/Eand if it lifts itselfכַּשַּׁחַלkash/SHA/challike a lionתְּצוּדֵנִיte/tsu/DE/niYou hunt meוְתָשֹׁבve/ta/SHOVand againתִּתְפַּלָּא־בִי׃tit/pal/LA-viYou show Your wonders against me

    For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.

17. 17

    תְּחַדֵּשׁte/chad/DESHYou renewעֵדֶיךָe/DE/khaYour witnessesנֶגְדִּיneg/DIagainst meוְתֶרֶבve/TE/revand increaseכַּעַשְׂךָka/as/KHAYour vexationעִמָּדִיim/ma/DItoward meחֲלִיפוֹתcha/li/FOTrelaysוְצָבָאve/tsa/VAand a hostעִמִּי׃im/MIagainst me

    Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.

18. 18

    וְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyמֵרֶחֶםme/RE/chemfrom the wombהֹצֵאתָנִיho/tse/TA/nidid You bring me outאֶגְוַעeg/VAI should have perishedוְעַיִןve/A/yinand no eyeלֹא־תִרְאֵנִי׃lo-tir/E/nihad seen me

    Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!

19. 19

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERas thoughלֹא־הָיִיתִיlo-ha/YI/tiI had not beenאֶהְיֶהeh/YEI should have beenמִבֶּטֶןmib/BE/tenfrom the wombלַקֶּבֶרlak/KE/verto the graveאוּבָל׃u/VALcarried

    I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

20. 20

    הֲלֹא־מְעַטha/LO-me/ATare not fewיָמַיya/MAYmy days(יחדל)yachadal[וַחֲדָל]va/cha/DALthen cease(ישית)yashayat[וְשִׁית]ve/SHITand turn awayמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meוְאַבְלִיגָהve/av/LI/gathat I may have comfortמְּעָט׃me/ATa little

    Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

21. 21

    בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeאֵלֵךְe/LEKHI goוְלֹאve/LOand notאָשׁוּבa/SHUVreturnאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessוְצַלְמָוֶת׃ve/tsal/MA/vetand the shadow of death

    Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;

22. 22

    אֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofעֵפָתָהe/FA/taof gloomכְּמוֹke/MOlikeאֹפֶלO/feldarknessצַלְמָוֶתtsal/MA/vetthe shadow of deathוְלֹאve/LOwithoutסְדָרִיםse/da/RIMorderוַתֹּפַעvat/TO/faand where it shinesכְּמוֹ־אֹפֶל׃ke/MO-O/fellike darkness

    A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.
