   At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:

   וּשְׁטָחוּםu/she/ta/CHUMand they will spread themלַשֶּׁמֶשׁlash/SHE/meshbefore the sunוְלַיָּרֵחַve/lay/ya/RE/achand the moonוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLand allצְבָאtse/VAthe host ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֲהֵבוּםa/he/VUMthey have lovedוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichעֲבָדוּםa/va/DUMthey have servedוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichהָלְכוּha/le/KHUthey have walkedאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichדְּרָשׁוּםde/ra/SHUMthey have soughtוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichהִשְׁתַּחֲווּhish/ta/cha/VUthey have worshipedלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֹאlonotיֵאָסְפוּye/a/se/FUshall they be gatheredוְלֹאve/LOnorיִקָּבֵרוּyik/ka/VE/rube buriedלְדֹמֶןle/DO/menas dungעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe earthיִהְיוּ׃yih/YUthey will be

   And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

   וְנִבְחַרve/niv/CHARand will be chosenמָוֶתMA/vetdeathמֵחַיִּיםme/chay/YIMmore than lifeלְכֹלle/KHOLfor allהַשְּׁאֵרִיתhash/she/e/RITthe remnantהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho remainמִן־הַמִּשְׁפָּחָהmin-ham/mish/pa/CHAfrom the familyהָרָעָהha/ra/Aevilהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּכׇל־הַמְּקֹמוֹתbe/KHOL-ham/me/ko/MOTin all the placesהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwhere they remainאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהִדַּחְתִּיםhid/dach/TIMI have driven themשָׁםshamthereנְאֻםne/UMsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃tse/va/OTof hosts

   And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.

   וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהֲיִפְּלוּha/yip/pe/LUwill they fallוְלֹאve/LOand notיָקוּמוּya/KU/muriseאִם־יָשׁוּבim-ya/SHUVwill one turn awayוְלֹאve/LOand notיָשׁוּב׃ya/SHUVreturn

   Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?

   מַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyשׁוֹבְבָהshov/VAhas turned awayהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemמְשֻׁבָהme/shu/VAin backslidingנִצַּחַתnits/TSA/chatperpetualהֶחֱזִיקוּhe/che/ZI/kuthey hold fastבַּתַּרְמִתbat/tar/MITto deceitמֵאֲנוּme/a/NUthey refuseלָשׁוּב׃la/SHUVto return

   Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

   הִקְשַׁבְתִּיhik/SHAV/tiI listenedוָאֶשְׁמָעva/esh/MAand heardלוֹא־כֵןlo-khennot rightיְדַבֵּרוּye/dab/BE/ruwill they speakאֵיןennoאִישׁisha manנִחָםni/CHAMrepentsעַל־רָעָתוֹal-ra/a/TOof his wickednessלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמֶהmewhatעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tihave I doneכֻּלֹּהkul/LOeveryoneשָׁבshavturns[בִּמְרוּצָתָם]bim/ru/tsa/TAMin their courseכְּסוּסke/SUSlike a horseשׁוֹטֵףsho/TEFrushingבַּמִּלְחָמָה׃bam/mil/cha/MAin the battle

   I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

   גַּם־חֲסִידָהgam-cha/si/DAalso the storkבַשָּׁמַיִםvash/sha/MA/yimin the heavensיָדְעָהya/de/Aknowsמוֹעֲדֶיהָmo/a/DE/haher appointed timesוְתֹרve/TORand the turtledove(וסוס)vasavas[וְסִיס]ve/SISand a swiftוְעָגוּרve/a/GURand the craneשָׁמְרוּsha/me/RUobserveאֶת־עֵתet-etthe time ofבֹּאָנָהbo/A/natheir comingוְעַמִּיve/am/MIand my peopleלֹאlonotיָדְעוּya/de/Udo knowאֵת־מִשְׁפַּטet-mish/PATthe ordinance ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

   אֵיכָהe/KHAhowתֹאמְרוּto/me/RUcan you sayחֲכָמִיםcha/kha/MIMwe are wiseאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweוְתוֹרַתve/to/RATand the law ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלַשֶּׁקֶרlash/SHE/kerfalselyעָשָׂהa/SAhas made itעֵטetthe pen ofשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodסֹפְרִים׃sof/RIMthe scribes

   How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

   הֹבִשׁוּho/VI/shuare put to shameחֲכָמִיםcha/kha/MIMthe wiseחַתּוּCHAT/tuthey are dismayedוַיִּלָּכֵדוּvay/yil/la/KHE/duand caughtהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבִדְבַר־יְהֹוָהvid/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDמָאָסוּma/A/suthey rejectedוְחׇכְמַתve/chokh/MATand wisdomמֶהmewhatלָהֶם׃la/HEMdo they have

   The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

10. 10

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֶתֵּןet/TENI will giveאֶת־נְשֵׁיהֶםet-ne/she/HEMtheir wivesלַאֲחֵרִיםla/a/che/RIMto othersשְׂדוֹתֵיהֶםse/do/te/HEMtheir fieldsלְיוֹרְשִׁיםle/yor/SHIMto those who will possess themכִּיkibecauseמִקָּטֹןmik/ka/TONfrom the leastוְעַד־גָּדוֹלve/AD-ga/DOLto the greatestכֻּלֹּהkul/LOeveryoneבֹּצֵעַbo/TSE/ais greedy forבָּצַעBA/tsagainמִנָּבִיאmin/na/VIfrom the prophetוְעַד־כֹּהֵןve/AD-ko/HENto the priestכֻּלֹּהkul/LOeveryoneעֹשֶׂהo/SEdealsשָּׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalsehood

    Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

    וַיְרַפּוּvay/rap/PUthey have healedאֶת־שֶׁבֶרet-SHE/verthe wound ofבַּת־עַמִּיbat-am/MIthe daughter of my peopleעַל־נְקַלָּהal-ne/kal/LAlightlyלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noשָׁלוֹם׃sha/LOMpeace

    For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

12. 12

    הֹבִשׁוּho/VI/shuwere they ashamedכִּיkiwhenתוֹעֵבָהto/e/VAabominationעָשׂוּa/SUthey committedגַּם־בּוֹשׁgam-bosheven be ashamedלֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּlo-ye/VO/shuthey were not ashamedוְהִכָּלֵםve/hik/ka/LEMand to blushלֹאlonotיָדָעוּya/DA/udid they knowלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeיִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUthey will fallבַנֹּפְלִיםvan/nof/LIMamong those who fallבְּעֵתbe/ETin the time ofפְּקֻדָּתָםpe/kud/da/TAMtheir punishmentיִכָּשְׁלוּyik/ka/she/LUthey will stumbleאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

13. 13

    אָסֹףa/SOFgatherאֲסִיפֵםa/si/FEMI will make an end of themנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֵיןenthere are noעֲנָבִיםa/na/VIMgrapesבַּגֶּפֶןbag/GE/fenon the vineוְאֵיןve/ENand there are noתְּאֵנִיםte/e/NIMfigsבַּתְּאֵנָהbat/te/e/NAon the fig treeוְהֶעָלֶהve/he/a/LEand the leafנָבֵלNA/velhas witheredוָאֶתֵּןva/et/TENand what I gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themיַעַבְרוּם׃ya/av/RUMwill pass from them

    I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

14. 14

    עַל־מָהal-mawhyאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMsit stillהֵאָסְפוּhe/a/se/FUassembleוְנָבוֹאve/na/VOand let us goאֶל־עָרֵיel-a/REto the cities ofהַמִּבְצָרham/miv/TSARfortifiedוְנִדְּמָה־שָּׁםve/nid/de/MA-shamand be silent thereכִּיkiforיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godהֲדִמָּנוּha/dim/MA/nuhas put us to silenceוַיַּשְׁקֵנוּvay/yash/KE/nuand given us to drinkמֵי־רֹאשׁme-roshwater of gallכִּיkibecauseחָטָאנוּcha/TA/nuwe have sinnedלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaiagainst the LORD

    Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

15. 15

    קַוֵּהkav/VEwe lookedלְשָׁלוֹםle/sha/LOMfor peaceוְאֵיןve/ENbut noטוֹבtovgoodלְעֵתle/ETfor a time ofמַרְפֵּהmar/PEhealingוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבְעָתָה׃ve/a/TAterror

    We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

16. 16

    מִדָּןmid/DANfrom Danנִשְׁמַעnish/MAis heardנַחְרַתnach/RATthe snorting ofסוּסָיוsu/SAYVhis horsesמִקּוֹלmik/KOLat the voice ofמִצְהֲלוֹתmits/ha/LOTthe neighings ofאַבִּירָיוab/bi/RAYVhis strong onesרָעֲשָׁהra/a/SHAtremblesכׇּל־הָאָרֶץkol-ha/A/retsall the landוַיָּבוֹאוּvay/ya/VO/ufor they have comeוַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand devouredאֶרֶץE/retsthe landוּמְלוֹאָהּu/me/lo/Aand all that is in itעִירirthe cityוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand those who dwellבָהּ׃vain it

    The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.

    כִּיkiforהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמְשַׁלֵּחַme/shal/LE/achwill sendבָּכֶםba/KHEMamong youנְחָשִׁיםne/cha/SHIMserpentsצִפְעֹנִיםtsif/o/NIMaddersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMwhich have noלָחַשׁLA/chashcharmוְנִשְּׁכוּve/nish/she/KHUand they will biteאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

18. 18

    מַבְלִיגִיתִיmav/li/gi/TIO my comfortעֲלֵיa/LEinיָגוֹןya/GONsorrowעָלַיa/LAYwithin meלִבִּיlib/BImy heartדַוָּי׃dav/VAYis sick

    When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

19. 19

    הִנֵּה־קוֹלhin/NE-kolbehold the voice ofשַׁוְעַתshav/ATthe cry ofבַּת־עַמִּיbat-am/MIthe daughter of my peopleמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom a landמַרְחַקִּיםmar/chak/KIMfar offהַיהֹוָהha-Adonaiis the LORDאֵיןennotבְּצִיּוֹןbe/Tsiy/YONin Zionאִם־מַלְכָּהּim-mal/KAis her kingאֵיןennotבָּהּbain herמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyהִכְעִסוּנִיhikh/i/SU/nithey have provoked me to angerבִּפְסִלֵיהֶםbif/si/le/HEMby their idolsבְּהַבְלֵיbe/hav/LEwith the vanities ofנֵכָר׃ne/KHARforeigners

    Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

20. 20

    עָבַרa/VARis pastקָצִירka/TSIRthe harvestכָּלָהka/LAis endedקָיִץKA/yitsthe summerוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand we areלוֹאlonotנוֹשָׁעְנוּ׃no/SHA/nusaved

    The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

21. 21

    עַל־שֶׁבֶרal-SHE/verfor the wound ofבַּת־עַמִּיbat-am/MIthe daughter of my peopleהׇשְׁבָּרְתִּיhosh/BAR/tiI am hurtקָדַרְתִּיka/DAR/tiI mournשַׁמָּהsham/MAdismayהֶחֱזִקָתְנִי׃he/che/zi/KAT/niit has taken hold of me

    For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.

22. 22

    הַצֳּרִיhats/tso/RIis balmאֵיןennotבְּגִלְעָדbe/Gil/ADin Gileadאִם־רֹפֵאim-ro/FEis a physicianאֵיןennotשָׁםshamthereכִּיkiforמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyלֹאlonotעָלְתָהa/le/TAhas comeאֲרֻכַתa/ru/KHATthe health ofבַּת־עַמִּי׃bat-am/MIthe daughter of my people

    Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

23. 23

    מִי־יִתֵּןmi-yit/TENoh thatרֹאשִׁיro/SHImy headמַיִםMA/yimwere watersוְעֵינִיve/e/NIand my eyesמְקוֹרme/KORa fountain ofדִּמְעָהdim/Atearsוְאֶבְכֶּהve/ev/KEso I may weepיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand nightאֵת־חַלְלֵיet-chal/LEfor the slain ofבַת־עַמִּי׃vat-am/MIthe daughter of my people

    Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
