    Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneיְהוֹיָקִם׃Ye/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakim

    And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

    כִּיkiforעַל־אַףal-afbecause of the anger ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהָיְתָהha/ye/TAit came to passבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin JerusalemוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahעַד־הִשְׁלִיכוֹad-hish/li/KHOuntil He had castאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵעַלme/ALfromפָּנָיוpa/NAYVHis faceוַיִּמְרֹדvay/yim/RODand rebelledצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahבְּמֶלֶךְbe/ME/lekhagainst the king ofבָּבֶל׃Ba/VELBabylon

    For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

    And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.

    וַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOso cameהָעִירha/IRthe cityבַּמָּצוֹרbam/ma/TSORunder siegeעַדaduntilעַשְׁתֵּי־עֶשְׂרֵהash/TE-es/REthe eleventhשָׁנָהsha/NAyearלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhof Kingצִדְקִיָּהוּ׃Tsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiah

    So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

    בַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהָרְבִיעִיha/re/vi/Ithe fourthבְּתִשְׁעָהbe/tish/Aon the ninthלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthוַיֶּחֱזַקvay/ye/che/ZAKand was severeהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineבָּעִירba/IRin the cityוְלֹא־הָיָהve/LO-HA/yaand there was noלֶחֶםLE/chembreadלְעַםle/AMfor the people ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe land

    And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

    וַתִּבָּקַעvat/tib/ba/KAthen was breachedהָעִירha/IRthe cityוְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁיve/KHOL-an/SHEand all the men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarיִבְרְחוּyiv/re/CHUfledוַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand went outמֵהָעִירme/ha/IRfrom the cityלַיְלָהLAY/laby nightדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhby way ofשַׁעַרSHA/arthe gate ofבֵּין־הַחֹמֹתַיִםben-ha/cho/mo/TA/yimbetween the two wallsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wasעַל־גַּןal-ganby the garden ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְכַשְׂדִּיםve/Khas/DIMnow the Chaldeans wereעַל־הָעִירal-ha/IRagainst the cityסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtowardהָעֲרָבָה׃ha/A/ra/VAthe Arabah

    Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.

    וַיִּרְדְּפוּvay/yir/de/FUand pursuedחֵיל־כַּשְׂדִּיםchel-Kas/DIMthe army of the Chaldeansאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּשִּׂיגוּvay/yas/SI/guand overtookאֶת־צִדְקִיָּהוּet-Tsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahבְּעַרְבֹתbe/ar/VOTin the plains ofיְרֵחוֹYe/re/CHOJerichoוְכׇל־חֵילוֹve/KHOL-che/LOand all his armyנָפֹצוּna/FO/tsuwas scatteredמֵעָלָיו׃me/a/LAYVfrom him

    But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

    וַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUthen they tookאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUand brought upאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonרִבְלָתָהRiv/LA/tato Riblahבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he pronouncedאִתּוֹit/TOon himמִשְׁפָּטִים׃mish/pa/TIMjudgment

    Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.

    וַיִּשְׁחַטvay/yish/CHATthen killedמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahלְעֵינָיוle/e/NAYVbefore his eyesוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־כׇּל־שָׂרֵיet-kol-sa/REall the princes ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahשָׁחַטsha/CHAThe killedבְּרִבְלָתָה׃be/Riv/LA/taat Riblah

    And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

    וְאֶת־עֵינֵיve/ET-e/NEand eyes ofצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahעִוֵּרiv/VERhe blindedוַיַּאַסְרֵהוּvay/ya/as/RE/huand he bound himבַנְחֻשְׁתַּיִםvan/chush/TA/yimin bronze fettersוַיְבִאֵהוּvay/vi/E/huand brought himמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonבָּבֶלָהba/VE/lato Babylonוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand put him(בבית)vavayat[בֵית־]הַפְּקֻדֹּתvet-hap/pe/kud/DOTin the house of custodyעַד־יוֹםad-yomuntil the day ofמוֹתוֹ׃mo/TOhis death

    Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

    Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,

    וַיִּשְׂרֹףvay/yis/ROFand he burnedאֶת־בֵּית־יְהֹוָהet-bet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוְאֶת־בֵּיתve/ET-betand the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־בָּתֵּיkol-bat/TEall the houses ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְאֶת־כׇּל־בֵּיתve/ET-kol-betand every house ofהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatשָׂרַףsa/RAFhe burnedבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHby fire

    And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:

    וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֹמוֹתve/ET-kol-cho/MOTand all the walls ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundנָתְצוּna/te/TSUbroke downכׇּל־חֵילkol-chelall the army ofכַּשְׂדִּיםkaS/DIMthe Chaldeansאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereאֶת־רַב־טַבָּחִים׃et-rav-tab/ba/CHIMwith the captain of the guard

    And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

    וּמִדַּלּוֹתu/mid/dal/LOTand some of the poorest ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוְאֶת־יֶתֶרve/ET-YE/terand the rest ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho remainedבָּעִירba/IRin the cityוְאֶת־הַנֹּפְלִיםve/ET-han/nof/LIMand the desertersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָפְלוּna/fe/LUhad desertedאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְאֵתve/ETandיֶתֶרYE/terthe rest ofהָאָמוֹןha/a/MONthe craftsmenהֶגְלָהheg/LAcarried captiveנְבוּזַרְאֲדָןNe/vu/zar/a/DANNebuzar-adanרַב־טַבָּחִים׃rav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guard

    Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

    וּמִדַּלּוֹתu/mid/dal/LOTbut some of the poorest ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhe leftנְבוּזַרְאֲדָןNe/vu/zar/a/DANNebuzar-adanרַב־טַבָּחִיםrav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guardלְכֹרְמִיםle/khor/MIMas vinedressersוּלְיֹגְבִים׃u/le/yog/VIMand plowmen

    But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

    וְאֶת־עַמּוּדֵיve/ET-am/mu/DEand the pillars ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereלְבֵית־יְהֹוָהle/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDוְאֶת־הַמְּכֹנוֹתve/ET-ham/me/kho/NOTand the standsוְאֶת־יָםve/ET-yamand the sea ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDשִׁבְּרוּshib/be/RUbroke in piecesכַשְׂדִּיםKhas/DIMthe Chaldeansוַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand carriedאֶת־כׇּל־נְחֻשְׁתָּםet-kol-ne/chush/TAMall their bronzeבָּבֶלָה׃ba/VE/lato Babylon

    Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

    וְאֶת־הַסִּרוֹתve/ET-has/si/ROTand the potsוְאֶת־הַיָּעִיםve/ET-hay/ya/IMand the shovelsוְאֶת־הַמְזַמְּרוֹתve/ET-ham/zam/me/ROTand the snuffersוְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָקֹתve/ET-ham/miz/ra/KOTand the bowlsוְאֶת־הַכַּפּוֹתve/ET-hak/kap/POTand the pansוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־כְּלֵיkol-ke/LEall the vessels ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁר־יְשָׁרְתוּa/SHER-ye/sha/re/TUwith which they ministeredבָהֶםva/HEMwith themלָקָחוּ׃la/KA/chuthey took

    The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

    וְאֶת־הַסִּפִּיםve/ET-has/sip/PIMand the basinsוְאֶת־הַמַּחְתּוֹתve/ET-ham/mach/TOTand the firepansוְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָקוֹתve/ET-ham/miz/ra/KOTand the bowlsוְאֶת־הַסִּירוֹתve/ET-has/si/ROTand the potsוְאֶת־הַמְּנֹרוֹתve/ET-ham/me/no/ROTand the lampstandsוְאֶת־הַכַּפּוֹתve/ET-hak/kap/POTand the pansוְאֶת־הַמְּנַקִּיּוֹתve/ET-ham/me/nak/kiy/YOTand the cupsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhat was ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldזָהָבza/HAVin goldוַאֲשֶׁר־כֶּסֶףva/a/SHER-KE/sefand what was of silverכָּסֶףKA/sefin silverלָקַחla/KACHtookרַב־טַבָּחִים׃rav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guard

    And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.

    הָעַמּוּדִיםha/am/mu/DIMthe pillarsשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaאֶחָדe/CHADoneוְהַבָּקָרve/hab/ba/KARand the bullsשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרshe/NEM-a/SARtwelveנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetof bronzeאֲשֶׁר־תַּחַתa/SHER-TA/chatthat were underהַמְּכֹנוֹתham/me/kho/NOTthe standsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשָׂהa/SAhad madeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonלְבֵיתle/VETfor the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־הָיָהlo-ha/YAthere was noמִשְׁקָלmish/KALweightלִנְחֻשְׁתָּםlin/chush/TAMfor their bronzeכׇּל־הַכֵּלִיםkol-hak/ke/LIMof all the vesselsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

    וְהָעַמּוּדִיםve/ha/am/mu/DIMand the pillarsשְׁמֹנֶה־עֶשְׂרֵהshe/mo/NE-es/REeighteenאַמָּהam/MAcubits(קומה)kavamah[קוֹמַת]ko/MATwas the height ofהָעַמֻּדha/am/MUDthe pillarהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADthe oneוְחוּטve/CHUTand a line ofשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵהshtem-es/REtwelveאַמָּהam/MAcubitsיְסֻבֶּנּוּye/sub/BEN/numeasured its circumferenceוְעׇבְיוֹve/ov/YOand its thickness wasאַרְבַּעar/BAfourאֶצְבָּעוֹתets/ba/OTfingersנָבוּב׃na/VUVhollow

    And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

    וְכֹתֶרֶתve/kho/TE/retand a capitalעָלָיוa/LAYVupon itנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetof bronzeוְקוֹמַתve/ko/MATand the height ofהַכֹּתֶרֶתhak/ko/TE/retthe capitalהָאַחַתha/a/CHAToneחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsוּשְׂבָכָהu/se/va/KHAwith a networkוְרִמּוֹנִיםve/rim/mo/NIMand pomegranatesעַל־הַכּוֹתֶרֶתal-hak/ko/TE/reton the capitalסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundהַכֹּלhak/KOLall ofנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeוְכָאֵלֶּהve/kha/EL/leand like theseלַעַמּוּדla/am/MUDhad the pillarהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIsecondוְרִמּוֹנִים׃ve/rim/mo/NIMand pomegranates

    And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereהָרִמֹּנִיםha/rim/mo/NIMthe pomegranatesתִּשְׁעִיםtish/IMninetyוְשִׁשָּׁהve/shish/SHAand sixרוּחָהRU/chaon the sidesכׇּל־הָרִמּוֹנִיםkol-ha/rim/mo/NIMall the pomegranates wereמֵאָהme/Aa hundredעַל־הַשְּׂבָכָהal-has/se/va/KHAon the networkסָבִיב׃sa/VIVall around

    And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookרַב־טַבָּחִיםrav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guardאֶת־שְׂרָיָהet-Se/ra/YASeraiahכֹּהֵןko/HENthe priestהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHchiefוְאֶת־צְפַנְיָהve/ET-tse/fan/YAand Zephaniahכֹּהֵןko/HENthe priestהַמִּשְׁנֶהham/mish/NEsecondוְאֶת־שְׁלֹשֶׁתve/ET-she/LO/shetand three ofשֹׁמְרֵיshom/REthe keepers ofהַסַּף׃has/SAFthe threshold

    And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

    וּמִן־הָעִירu/MIN-ha/IRand from the cityלָקַחla/KACHtookסָרִיסsa/RISofficialאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲשֶׁר־הָיָהa/SHER-ha/YAwho wasפָקִידfa/KIDoverseerעַל־אַנְשֵׁיal-an/SHEover the men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarוְשִׁבְעָהve/shiv/Aand sevenאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמֵרֹאֵיme/ro/Eof those who sawפְנֵי־הַמֶּלֶךְfe/NE-ham/ME/lekhthe face of the kingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִמְצְאוּnim/tse/Uwere foundבָעִירva/IRin the cityוְאֵתve/ETandסֹפֵרso/FERthe scribe ofשַׂרsarthe commander ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyהַמַּצְבִּאham/mats/BIwho musteredאֶת־עַםet-amthe people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְשִׁשִּׁיםve/shish/SHIMand sixtyאִישׁishmenמֵעַםme/AMof the people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַנִּמְצְאִיםhan/nim/tse/IMwho were foundבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongהָעִיר׃ha/IRthe city

    He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

    So Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

    וַיַּכֶּהvay/yak/KEand struckאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוַיְמִתֵםvay/mi/TEMand put them to deathבְּרִבְלָהbe/Riv/LAat Riblahבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathוַיִּגֶלvay/YI/gelso was carried captiveיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahמֵעַלme/ALout ofאַדְמָתוֹ׃ad/ma/TOhis land

    And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.

    This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:

    In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:

    In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

    And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himטֹבוֹתto/VOTkindlyוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand setאֶת־כִּסְאוֹet-kis/Ohis throneמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveלְכִסֵּאle/khis/SEthe throne of(מלכים)malakhayam[הַמְּלָכִים]ham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבְּבָבֶל׃be/Va/VELin Babylon

    And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,

  33. 33

    וְשִׁנָּהve/shin/NAso he changedאֵת־בִּגְדֵיet-big/DEthe garments ofכִלְאוֹkhil/Ohis prisonוְאָכַלve/a/KHALand he ateלֶחֶםLE/chembreadלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofחַיָּו׃chay/YAVhis life

    And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.

  34. 34

    וַאֲרֻחָתוֹva/a/ru/cha/TOand for his allowanceאֲרֻחַתa/ru/CHATa regular allowanceתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyנִתְּנָה־לּוֹnit/te/NA-lowas given to himמֵאֵתme/ETfromמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonדְּבַר־יוֹםde/VAR-yoma portionבְּיוֹמוֹbe/yo/MOeach dayעַד־יוֹםad-yomuntil the day ofמוֹתוֹmo/TOhis deathכֹּלkolallיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחַיָּיו׃chay/YAYVhis life

    And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
