    Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיָמִיםya/MIMthe daysבָּאִיםba/IMare comingנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְהִשְׁמַעְתִּיve/hish/MA/tiwhen I will make heardאֶל־רַבַּתel-Rab/BATagainst Rabbah ofבְּנֵי־עַמּוֹןbe/NE-am/MONthe sons of Ammonתְּרוּעַתte/ru/ATthe alarm ofמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand it will becomeלְתֵלle/TELa mound ofשְׁמָמָהshe/ma/MAdesolationוּבְנֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her villagesבָּאֵשׁba/ESHby fireתִּצַּתְנָהtits/TSAT/nawill be burnedוְיָרַשׁve/ya/RASHthen will dispossessיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶת־יֹרְשָׁיוet-yor/SHAYVthose who dispossessed himאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

    Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

    Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמֵבִיאme/VIwill bringעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhon youפַּחַדPA/chadterrorנְאֻם־אֲדֹנָיne/UM-a/do/NAYsays the LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsמִכׇּל־סְבִיבָיִךְmik/KOL-se/vi/VA/yikhfrom all around youוְנִדַּחְתֶּםve/nid/dach/TEMand you will be driven outאִישׁisheachלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVstraight before himוְאֵיןve/ENand no oneמְקַבֵּץme/kab/BETSwill gatherלַנֹּדֵד׃lan/no/DEDthe fugitives

    Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenbut afterwardאָשִׁיבa/SHIVI will bring backאֶת־שְׁבוּתet-she/VUTthe captivity ofבְּנֵי־עַמּוֹןbe/NE-am/MONthe sons of Ammonנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

    לֶאֱדוֹםLe/e/DOMconcerning Edomכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsהַאֵיןha/ENis there noעוֹדodlongerחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבְּתֵימָןbe/Te/MANin Temanאָבְדָהa/ve/DAhas perishedעֵצָהe/TSAcounselמִבָּנִיםmib/ba/NIMfrom the prudentנִסְרְחָהnis/re/CHAhas vanishedחׇכְמָתָם׃chokh/ma/TAMtheir wisdom

    Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

    נֻסוּNU/sufleeהׇפְנוּhof/NUturn backהֶעְמִיקוּhe/MI/kugo deepלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto dwellיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEO inhabitants ofדְּדָןDe/DANDedanכִּיkiforאֵידedthe calamity ofעֵשָׂוE/SAVEsauהֵבֵאתִיhe/VE/tiI will bringעָלָיוa/LAYVon himעֵתetthe timeפְּקַדְתִּיו׃pe/kad/TIVI punish him

    Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.

    אִם־בֹּצְרִיםim-bots/RIMif grape gatherersבָּאוּBA/ucameלָךְlakhto youלֹאlowould notיַשְׁאִרוּyash/I/ruthey leaveעוֹלֵלוֹתo/le/LOTgleaningsאִם־גַּנָּבִיםim-gan/na/VIMif thievesבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/laby nightהִשְׁחִיתוּhish/CHI/tuthey would destroyדַיָּם׃day/YAMonly enough for them

    If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.

    כִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIbut Iחָשַׂפְתִּיcha/SAF/tiI have strippedאֶת־עֵשָׂוet-E/SAVEsauגִּלֵּיתִיgil/LE/tiI have uncoveredאֶת־מִסְתָּרָיוet-mis/ta/RAYVhis hiding placesוְנֶחְבָּהve/nech/BAand to hide himselfלֹאlonotיוּכָלyu/KHALhe will be ableשֻׁדַּדshud/DADis destroyedזַרְעוֹzar/Ohis seedוְאֶחָיוve/e/CHAYVand his brothersוּשְׁכֵנָיוu/she/khe/NAYVand his neighborsוְאֵינֶנּוּ׃ve/e/NEN/nuand he is no more

    But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

    עׇזְבָהoz/VAleaveיְתֹמֶיךָye/to/ME/khayour fatherlessאֲנִיa/NIIאֲחַיֶּהa/chay/YEwill keep them aliveוְאַלְמְנוֹתֶיךָve/al/me/no/TE/khaand your widowsעָלַיa/LAYin meתִּבְטָחוּ׃tiv/TA/chulet trust

    Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

    כִּי־כֹהki-khofor thusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲשֶׁר־אֵיןa/SHER-enthose who were notמִשְׁפָּטָםmish/pa/TAMsentencedלִשְׁתּוֹתlish/TOTto drinkהַכּוֹסhak/KOSthe cupשָׁתוֹsha/TOdrinkיִשְׁתּוּyish/TUmust drinkוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand are youהוּאhuthe oneנָקֹהna/KOgo unpunishedתִּנָּקֶהtin/na/KEwho will go unpunishedלֹאlonotתִנָּקֶהtin/na/KEwill you go unpunishedכִּיkiforשָׁתֹהsha/TOdrinkתִּשְׁתֶּה׃tish/TEyou will drink

    For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.

    כִּיkiforבִיviby myselfנִשְׁבַּעְתִּיnish/BA/tiI have swornנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDכִּי־לְשַׁמָּהki-le/sham/MAthat a horrorלְחֶרְפָּהle/cher/PAfor reproachלְחֹרֶבle/CHO/reva wasteוְלִקְלָלָהve/lik/la/LAand a curseתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill becomeבׇצְרָהVots/RABozrahוְכׇל־עָרֶיהָve/KHOL-a/RE/haand all her citiesתִהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nawill beלְחׇרְבוֹתle/chor/VOTwastesעוֹלָם׃o/LAMperpetual

    For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

    שְׁמוּעָהshe/mu/Aa reportשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardמֵאֵתme/ETfromיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְצִירve/TSIRand an envoyבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsשָׁלוּחַsha/LU/achis sentהִתְקַבְּצוּhit/kab/be/TSUgather yourselvesוּבֹאוּu/VO/uand comeעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst herוְקוּמוּve/KU/muand riseלַמִּלְחָמָה׃lam/mil/cha/MAfor battle

    I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

    כִּי־הִנֵּהki-hin/NEfor beholdקָטֹןka/TONsmallנְתַתִּיךָne/tat/TI/khaI have made youבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsבָּזוּיba/ZUYdespisedבָּאָדָם׃ba/a/DAMamong men

    For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.

  16. 16

    תִּפְלַצְתְּךָtif/lats/te/KHAyour terrorהִשִּׁיאhish/SHIhas deceivedאֹתָךְo/TAKHyouזְדוֹןze/DONthe pride ofלִבֶּךָlib/BE/khayour heartשֹׁכְנִיshokh/NIO you who dwellבְּחַגְוֵיbe/chag/VEin the clefts ofהַסֶּלַעhas/SE/lathe rockתֹּפְשִׂיtof/SIwho holdמְרוֹםme/ROMthe height ofגִּבְעָהgiv/Aa hillכִּי־תַגְבִּיהַּki-tag/BI/ahthough you make highכַּנֶּשֶׁרkan/NE/sherlike the eagleקִנֶּךָkin/NE/khayour nestמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאוֹרִידְךָo/ri/de/KHAI will bring you downנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

    וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand will becomeאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa horrorכֹּלkoleveryoneעֹבֵרo/VERwho passesעָלֶיהָa/LE/haby itיִשֹּׁםyish/SHOMwill be appalledוְיִשְׁרֹקve/yish/ROKand hissעַל־כׇּל־מַכּוֹתֶהָ׃al-kol-mak/ko/TE/haat all its plagues

    Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

    כְּמַהְפֵּכַתke/mah/pe/KHATas the overthrow ofסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomוַעֲמֹרָהva/A/mo/RAand Gomorrahוּשְׁכֵנֶיהָu/she/khe/NE/haand their neighborsאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־יֵשֵׁבlo-ye/SHEVwill not dwellשָׁםshamthereאִישׁishanyoneוְלֹא־יָגוּרve/LO-ya/GURnor will sojournבָּהּbain itבֶּן־אָדָם׃ben-a/DAMson of man

    As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdכְּאַרְיֵהke/ar/YElike a lionיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEhe will come upמִגְּאוֹןmig/ge/ONfrom the thickets ofהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanאֶל־נְוֵהel-ne/VEagainst a pastureאֵיתָןe/TANperennialכִּי־אַרְגִּיעָהki-ar/GI/afor in an instantאֲרִיצֶנּוּa/ri/TSEN/nuI will make him runמֵעָלֶיהָme/a/LE/hafrom herוּמִיu/MIand whoeverבָחוּרva/CHURis chosenאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haover herאֶפְקֹדef/KODI will appointכִּיkiforמִיmiwhoכָמוֹנִיkha/MO/niis like meוּמִיu/MIand whoיֹעִידֶנִּיyo/i/DEN/niwill summon meוּמִי־זֶהu/MI-zeand who is thisרֹעֶהro/Eis the shepherdאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODcan standלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

    Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearעֲצַת־יְהֹוָהa/TSAT-Adonaithe counsel of the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָעַץya/ATSHe has counseledאֶל־אֱדוֹםel-E/DOMagainst Edomוּמַחְשְׁבוֹתָיוu/mach/she/vo/TAYVand his purposesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחָשַׁבcha/SHAVHe has purposedאֶל־יֹשְׁבֵיel-yosh/VEagainst the inhabitants ofתֵימָןTe/MANTemanאִם־לוֹאim-losurelyיִסְחָבוּםyis/cha/VUMwill drag them awayצְעִירֵיtse/i/REthe little ones ofהַצֹּאןhats/TSONthe flockאִם־לֹאim-losurelyיַשִּׁיםyash/SHIMwill be appalledעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMat themנְוֵהֶם׃ne/ve/HEMtheir pasture

    Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

    מִקּוֹלmik/KOLat the sound ofנִפְלָםnif/LAMtheir fallרָעֲשָׁהra/a/SHAtremblesהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthצְעָקָהtse/a/KAthe cryבְּיַם־סוּףbe/YAM-sufin the Red Seaנִשְׁמַעnish/MAis heardקוֹלָהּ׃ko/LAits sound

    The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdכַנֶּשֶׁרkhan/NE/sherlike the eagleיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEhe will riseוְיִדְאֶהve/yid/Eand swoopוְיִפְרֹשׂve/yif/ROSand spreadכְּנָפָיוke/na/FAYVhis wingsעַל־בׇּצְרָהal-Bots/RAover Bozrahוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand will beלֵבlevthe heart ofגִּבּוֹרֵיgib/bo/REthe mighty men ofאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatכְּלֵבke/LEVlike the heart ofאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanמְצֵרָה׃me/tse/RAin labor

    Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

    לְדַמֶּשֶׂקle/Dam/ME/sekconcerning DamascusבּוֹשָׁהBO/shaare put to shameחֲמָתCha/MATHamathוְאַרְפָּדve/Ar/PADand Arpadכִּי־שְׁמֻעָהki-she/mu/Afor newsרָעָהra/Aevilשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey have heardנָמֹגוּna/MO/guthey meltבַּיָּםbay/YAMon the seaדְּאָגָהde/a/GAthere is anxietyהַשְׁקֵטhash/KETbe quietלֹאlonotיוּכָל׃yu/KHALit can

    Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

    רָפְתָהra/fe/TAhas grown feebleדַמֶּשֶׂקDam/ME/sekDamascusהִפְנְתָהhif/ne/TAshe has turnedלָנוּסla/NUSto fleeוְרֶטֶטve/RE/tetand tremblingהֶחֱזִיקָהhe/che/ZI/kahas seized herצָרָהtsa/RAanguishוַחֲבָלִיםva/cha/va/LIMand pangsאֲחָזַתָּהa/cha/ZAT/tahave taken herכַּיּוֹלֵדָה׃kay/yo/le/DAas a woman in labor

    Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

    אֵיךְekhhowלֹא־עֻזְּבָהlo-uz/ze/VAis not forsakenעִירirthe city of(תהלה)tahalah[תְּהִלָּת]te/hil/LATpraiseקִרְיַתkir/YATthe town ofמְשׂוֹשִׂי׃me/so/SImy joy

    How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeיִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUwill fallבַחוּרֶיהָva/chu/RE/haits young menבִּרְחֹבֹתֶיהָbir/cho/vo/TE/hain her squaresוְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁיve/KHOL-an/SHEand all the men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarיִדַּמּוּyid/DAM/muwill be silencedבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatנְאֻםne/UMsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃tse/va/OTof hosts

    Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

    וְהִצַּתִּיve/hits/TSAT/tiand I will kindleאֵשׁeshfireבְּחוֹמַתbe/cho/MATin the wall ofדַּמָּשֶׂקDam/MA/sekDamascusוְאׇכְלָהve/okh/LAand it will devourאַרְמְנוֹתar/me/NOTthe palaces ofבֶּן־הֲדָד׃ben-Ha/DADBen-hadad

    And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.

    לְקֵדָרle/Ke/DARconcerning Kedarוּלְמַמְלְכוֹתu/le/mam/le/KHOTand concerning the kingdoms ofחָצוֹרCha/TSORHazorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִכָּהhik/KAstruck[נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר]Ne/vu/khad/re/TSARNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDקוּמוּKU/muariseעֲלוּa/LUgo upאֶל־קֵדָרel-Ke/DARto Kedarוְשׇׁדְדוּve/shod/DUand destroyאֶת־בְּנֵי־קֶדֶם׃et-be/NE-KE/demthe sons of the east

    Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

    אׇהֳלֵיהֶםo/ho/le/HEMtheir tentsוְצֹאנָםve/tso/NAMand their flocksיִקָּחוּyik/KA/chuthey will takeיְרִיעוֹתֵיהֶםye/ri/o/te/HEMtheir tent curtainsוְכׇל־כְּלֵיהֶםve/KHOL-ke/le/HEMand all their goodsוּגְמַלֵּיהֶםu/ge/mal/le/HEMand their camelsיִשְׂאוּyis/Uthey will carry offלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesוְקָרְאוּve/ka/re/Uand they will cryעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמָגוֹרma/GORterrorמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVall around

    Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.

    Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.

    קוּמוּKU/muariseעֲלוּa/LUgo upאֶל־גּוֹיel-goyagainst a nationשְׁלֵיוshe/LEVat easeיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVthat dwellsלָבֶטַחla/VE/tachin safetyנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלֹא־דְלָתַיִםlo-de/la/TA/yimwhich has no gatesוְלֹא־בְרִיחַve/LO-ve/RI/achnor barsלוֹloitבָּדָדba/DADaloneיִשְׁכֹּנוּ׃yish/KO/nuwho dwell

    Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.

  32. 32

    וְהָיוּve/ha/YUand will becomeגְמַלֵּיהֶםge/mal/le/HEMtheir camelsלָבַזla/VAZplunderוַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand the multitude ofמִקְנֵיהֶםmik/ne/HEMtheir cattleלְשָׁלָלle/sha/LALspoilוְזֵרִתִיםve/ze/ri/TIMand I will scatterלְכׇל־רוּחַle/KHOL-RU/achto every windקְצוּצֵיke/tsu/TSEthose who cutפֵאָהfe/Athe cornersוּמִכׇּל־עֲבָרָיוu/mik/KOL-a/va/RAYVand from every sideאָבִיאa/VII will bringאֶת־אֵידָםet-e/DAMtheir disasterנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.

  33. 33

    וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand will becomeחָצוֹרCha/TSORHazorלִמְעוֹןlim/ONa haunt ofתַּנִּיםtan/NIMjackalsשְׁמָמָהshe/ma/MAa desolationעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverלֹא־יֵשֵׁבlo-ye/SHEVwill not dwellשָׁםshamthereאִישׁishanyoneוְלֹא־יָגוּרve/LO-ya/GURnor sojournבָּהּbain itבֶּן־אָדָם׃ben-a/DAMson of man

    And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAcameדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetאֶל־עֵילָםel-E/LAMconcerning Elamבְּרֵאשִׁיתbe/re/SHITin the beginning ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe reign ofצִדְקִיָּהTsid/kiy/YAZedekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁבֵרsho/VERwill breakאֶת־קֶשֶׁתet-KE/shetthe bow ofעֵילָםE/LAMElamרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITthe foremost ofגְּבוּרָתָם׃ge/vu/ra/TAMtheir might

    Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

  36. 36

    וְהֵבֵאתִיve/he/ve/TIand I will bringאֶל־עֵילָםel-E/LAMon Elamאַרְבַּעar/BAfourרוּחוֹתru/CHOTwindsמֵאַרְבַּעme/ar/BAfrom fourקְצוֹתke/TSOTquarters ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְזֵרִתִיםve/ze/ri/TIMand scatter themלְכֹלle/KHOLto allהָרֻחוֹתha/ru/CHOTthe windsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְלֹא־יִהְיֶהve/LO-yih/YEand there will be noהַגּוֹיhag/GOYthe nationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whichלֹא־יָבוֹאlo-ya/VOwill not comeשָׁםshamthereנִדְּחֵיnid/de/CHEthe outcasts of(עולם)valam[עֵילָם]׃E/LAMElam

    And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

  37. 37

    וְהַחְתַּתִּיve/hach/tat/TIfor I will dismayאֶת־עֵילָםet-E/LAMElamלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֹיְבֵיהֶםoy/ve/HEMtheir enemiesוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeמְבַקְשֵׁיme/vak/SHEthose who seekנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir lifeוְהֵבֵאתִיve/he/ve/TIand I will bringעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themרָעָהra/Aevilאֶת־חֲרוֹןet-cha/RONmy fierceאַפִּיap/PIangerנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְשִׁלַּחְתִּיve/shil/lach/TIand I will sendאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themאֶת־הַחֶרֶבet-ha/CHE/revthe swordעַדaduntilכַּלּוֹתִיkal/lo/TII have consumedאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

    וְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TIand I will setכִסְאִיkhis/Imy throneבְּעֵילָםbe/E/LAMin Elamוְהַאֲבַדְתִּיve/ha/a/vad/TIand destroyמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereמֶלֶךְME/lekhkingוְשָׂרִיםve/sa/RIMand princesנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.

  39. 39

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAbut it shall come to passבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITin the latter part ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe days(אשוב)shavav[אָשִׁיב]a/SHIVI will turn backאֶת־[שְׁבוּת]et-she/VUTthe captivity of(שבית)shavayatעֵילָםE/LAMElamנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
