   And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

   Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

   כִּיkibutבָּרוּךְBa/RUKHBaruchבֶּן־נֵרִיָּהben-Ne/riy/YAson of Neriahמַסִּיתmas/SITis incitingאֹתְךָot/KHAyouבָּנוּBA/nuagainst usלְמַעַןle/MA/anso asתֵּתtetto giveאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusבְיַד־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםve/YAD-hak/kas/DIMinto the hand of the Chaldeansלְהָמִיתle/ha/MITto put to deathאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusוּלְהַגְלוֹתu/le/hag/LOTand to carry captiveאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusבָּבֶל׃ba/VELto Babylon

   But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.

   וְלֹא־שָׁמַעve/LO-sha/MAso did not obeyיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohananבֶּן־קָרֵחַben-Ka/RE/achson of Kareahוְכׇל־שָׂרֵיve/KHOL-sa/REand all the commanders ofהַחֲיָלִיםha/cha/ya/LIMthe forcesוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto remainבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

   So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohananבֶּן־קָרֵחַben-Ka/RE/achson of Kareahוְכׇל־שָׂרֵיve/KHOL-sa/REand all the commanders ofהַחֲיָלִיםha/cha/ya/LIMthe forcesאֵת־כׇּל־שְׁאֵרִיתet-kol-she/e/RITall the remnant ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֲשֶׁר־שָׁבוּa/SHER-sha/VUwho had returnedמִכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםmik/KOL-hag/go/YIMfrom all the nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whichנִדְּחוּ־שָׁםnid/de/CHU-shamthey had been drivenלָגוּרla/GURto sojournבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

   But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations, whither they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;

   Even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.

   וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they went intoאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptכִּיkiforלֹאlonotשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Udid they obeyבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameעַד־תַּחְפַּנְחֵס׃ad-Tach/pan/CHESto Tahpanhes

   So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they even to Tahpanhes.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahבְּתַחְפַּנְחֵסbe/Tach/pan/CHESin Tahpanhesלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

   קַחkachtakeבְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAin your handאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatוּטְמַנְתָּםu/te/man/TAMand hide themבַּמֶּלֶטbam/ME/letin the mortarבַּמַּלְבֵּןbam/mal/BENin the brick terraceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isבְּפֶתַחbe/FE/tachat the entrance ofבֵּית־פַּרְעֹהBet-par/OPharaoh's houseבְּתַחְפַּנְחֵסbe/Tach/pan/CHESin Tahpanhesלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEin the sight ofאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenיְהוּדִים׃Ye/hu/DIMJews

   Take great stones in thine hand, and hide them in the clay in the brickkiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

10. 10

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achwill sendוְלָקַחְתִּיve/la/kach/TIand I will takeאֶת־נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרet-Ne/vu/khad/re/TSARNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantוְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TIand will setכִסְאוֹkhis/Ohis throneמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveלָאֲבָנִיםla/a/va/NIMthe stonesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatטָמָנְתִּיta/MAN/tiI have hiddenוְנָטָהve/na/TAand he will spreadאֶת־[שַׁפְרִירוֹ]et-shaf/ri/ROhis royal pavilionעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMover them

    And say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

11. 11

    (ובאה)vavh[וּבָא]u/VAand he will comeוְהִכָּהve/hik/KAand strikeאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsland ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthose who areלַמָּוֶתlam/MA/vetto deathלַמָּוֶתlam/MA/vetto deathוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those who areלַשְּׁבִיlash/she/VIfor captivityלַשֶּׁבִיlash/SHE/vito captivityוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those who areלַחֶרֶבla/CHE/revto the swordלֶחָרֶב׃le/CHA/revto the sword

    And when he cometh, he shall smite the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.

12. 12

    וְהִצַּתִּיve/hits/TSAT/tiand I will kindleאֵשׁeshfireבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe gods ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוּשְׂרָפָםu/se/ra/FAMand he will burn themוְשָׁבָםve/sha/VAMand carry them captiveוְעָטָהve/a/TAand he will wrap himself inאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsland ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptכַּאֲשֶׁר־יַעְטֶהka/a/SHER-ya/TEas wraps himself inהָרֹעֶהha/ro/Ethe shepherdאֶת־בִּגְדוֹet-big/DOhis garmentוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand he will go outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereבְּשָׁלוֹם׃be/sha/LOMin peace

    And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

13. 13

    וְשִׁבַּרve/shib/BARand he shall breakאֶת־מַצְּבוֹתet-mats/tse/VOTthe pillars ofבֵּיתBetBeth-שֶׁמֶשׁSHE/meshshemeshאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְאֶת־בָּתֵּיve/ET-bat/TEand the houses ofאֱלֹהֵי־מִצְרַיִםe/lo/HE-Mits/RA/yimgods of Egyptיִשְׂרֹףyis/ROFhe will burnבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHby fire

    He shall break also the images of Beth-shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
