   וַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUthen came nearכׇּל־שָׂרֵיkol-sa/REall the commanders ofהַחֲיָלִיםha/cha/ya/LIMthe forcesוְיוֹחָנָןve/Yo/cha/NANand Johananבֶּן־קָרֵחַben-Ka/RE/achson of KareahוִיזַנְיָהVi/zan/YAand Jezaniahבֶּן־הוֹשַׁעְיָהben-Ho/sha/YAson of Hoshaiahוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleמִקָּטֹןmik/ka/TONfrom the leastוְעַד־גָּדוֹל׃ve/AD-ga/DOLto the greatest

   Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetתִּפׇּל־נָאtip/POL-nalet fall nowתְחִנָּתֵנוּte/chin/na/TE/nuour supplicationלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוְהִתְפַּלֵּלve/hit/pal/LELand prayבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּעַדbe/ADforכׇּל־הַשְּׁאֵרִיתkol-hash/she/e/RITall the remnantהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכִּי־נִשְׁאַרְנוּki-nish/AR/nufor we are leftמְעַטme/ATfewמֵהַרְבֵּהme/har/BEof manyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesרֹאוֹתro/OTseeאֹתָנוּ׃o/TA/nuus

   And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)

   וְיַגֶּד־לָנוּve/yag/GED-LA/nuthat may tell usיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְet-had/DE/rekhthe wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichנֵלֶךְ־בָּהּNE/lekh-bawe should walkוְאֶת־הַדָּבָרve/ET-had/da/VARand the thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנַעֲשֶׂה׃na/a/SEwe should do

   That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELwill prayאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godכְּדִבְרֵיכֶםke/div/re/KHEMaccording to your wordsוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכׇּל־הַדָּבָרkol-had/da/VARwhateverאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲנֶהa/SHER-ya/a/NEanswersיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאַגִּידag/GIDI will tellלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹא־אֶמְנַעlo-em/NAI will not keep backמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youדָּבָר׃da/VARa word

   Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

   וְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyאָמְרוּa/me/RUthey saidאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahיְהִיye/HImay beיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבָּנוּBA/nuagainst usלְעֵדle/EDa witnessאֱמֶתe/METtrueוְנֶאֱמָןve/ne/e/MANand faithfulאִם־לֹאim-loif notכְּכׇל־הַדָּבָרke/KHOL-had/da/VARaccording to all the wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichיִשְׁלָחֲךָyish/la/cha/KHAsends youיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usכֵּןkensoנַעֲשֶׂה׃na/a/SEwe will do

   Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.

   אִם־טוֹבim-tovwhether goodוְאִם־רָעve/IM-raor badבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whom(אנו)nav[אֲנַחְנוּ]a/NACH/nuweשֹׁלְחִיםshol/CHIMare sendingאֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himנִשְׁמָעnish/MAwe will obeyלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִיטַב־לָנוּyi/TAV-LA/nuit shall be well with usכִּיkiwhenנִשְׁמַעnish/MAwe obeyבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

   Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִקֵּץmik/KETSat the end ofעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוַיְהִיvay/HIthat cameדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּ׃el-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiah

   And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAthen he calledאֶל־יוֹחָנָןel-Yo/cha/NANto Johananבֶּן־קָרֵחַben-Ka/RE/achson of Kareahוְאֶלve/ELandכׇּל־שָׂרֵיkol-sa/REall the commanders ofהַחֲיָלִיםha/cha/ya/LIMthe forcesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוּלְכׇל־הָעָםu/le/KHOL-ha/AMand to all the peopleלְמִקָּטֹןle/mik/ka/TONfrom the leastוְעַד־גָּדוֹל׃ve/AD-ga/DOLto the greatest

   Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

9. 9

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomשְׁלַחְתֶּםshe/lach/TEMyou sentאֹתִיo/TImeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלְהַפִּילle/hap/PILto presentתְּחִנַּתְכֶםte/chin/nat/KHEMyour supplicationלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore him

   And said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him;

10. 10

    אִם־שׁוֹבim-shovif remainתֵּשְׁבוּtesh/VUyou will remainבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּבָנִיתִיu/va/NI/tithen I will buildאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶהֱרֹסe/he/ROStear downוְנָטַעְתִּיve/na/TA/tiand I will plantאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶתּוֹשׁet/TOSHpluck upכִּיkiforנִחַמְתִּיni/CHAM/tiI have relentedאֶל־הָרָעָהel-ha/ra/Aof the evilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI have doneלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

    אַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Udo not fearמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEtheמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonאֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּםa/SHER-at/TEMof whom youיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMare afraidמִפָּנָיוmip/pa/NAYVof himאַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Udo not fearמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuhimנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDכִּי־אִתְּכֶםki-it/te/KHEMfor with youאָנִיA/niam Iלְהוֹשִׁיעַle/ho/SHI/ato saveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּלְהַצִּילu/le/hats/TSILand to deliverאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִיָּדוֹ׃miy/ya/DOfrom his hand

    Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

12. 12

    וְאֶתֵּןve/et/TENand I will grantלָכֶםla/KHEMto youרַחֲמִיםra/cha/MIMcompassionוְרִחַםve/ri/CHAMthat he may have compassion onאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְהֵשִׁיבve/he/SHIVand let returnאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֶל־אַדְמַתְכֶם׃el-ad/mat/KHEMto your land

    And I will shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.

13. 13

    וְאִם־אֹמְרִיםve/IM-om/RIMbut if sayאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלֹאlonotנֵשֵׁבne/SHEVwill we stayבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as notשְׁמֹעַshe/MO/ato obeyבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

    But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,

14. 14

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlonoכִּיkibutאֶרֶץE/retsto the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptנָבוֹאna/VOwe will goאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereלֹא־נִרְאֶהlo-nir/Ewe will not seeמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarוְקוֹלve/KOLand the sound ofשׁוֹפָרsho/FARthe trumpetלֹאlonotנִשְׁמָעnish/MAhearוְלַלֶּחֶםve/lal/LE/chemnor for breadלֹא־נִרְעָבlo-nir/AVbe hungryוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereנֵשֵׁב׃ne/SHEVwe will dwell

    Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

15. 15

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITO remnant ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאִם־אַתֶּםim-at/TEMif youשׂוֹםsomsetתְּשִׂמוּןte/si/MUNsetפְּנֵיכֶםpe/ne/KHEMyour facesלָבֹאla/VOto enterמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוּבָאתֶםu/va/TEMand goלָגוּרla/GURto sojournשָׁם׃shamthere

    And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; If ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;

16. 16

    וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAthen willהַחֶרֶבha/CHE/revthe swordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMfearמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/naitשָׁםshamthereתַּשִּׂיגtas/SIGwill overtakeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְהָרָעָבve/ha/ra/AVand the famineאֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּםa/SHER-at/TEMof which youדֹּאֲגִיםdo/a/GIMare afraidמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof itשָׁםshamthereיִדְבַּקyid/BAKwill follow closeאַחֲרֵיכֶםa/cha/re/KHEMafter youמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimin Egyptוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereתָּמֻתוּ׃ta/MU/tuyou will die

    Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.

17. 17

    וְיִהְיוּve/yih/YUso will it be withכׇל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםkhol-ha/a/na/SHIMall the menאֲשֶׁר־שָׂמוּa/SHER-SA/muwho setאֶת־פְּנֵיהֶםet-pe/ne/HEMtheir facesלָבוֹאla/VOto go intoמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלָגוּרla/GURto sojournשָׁםshamthereיָמוּתוּya/MU/tuthey will dieבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revby the swordבָּרָעָבba/ra/AVby the famineוּבַדָּבֶרu/vad/DA/verand by the pestilenceוְלֹא־יִהְיֶהve/LO-yih/YEand there will not beלָהֶםla/HEMof themשָׂרִידsa/RIDa survivorוּפָלִיטu/fa/LITor one who escapesמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהָרָעָהha/ra/Athe evilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIמֵבִיאme/VIwill bringעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMupon them

    So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.

    כִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנִתַּךְnit/TAKHhas been poured outאַפִּיap/PImy angerוַחֲמָתִיva/cha/ma/TIand my furyעַל־יֹשְׁבֵיal-yosh/VEon the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemכֵּןkensoתִּתַּךְtit/TAKHwill be poured outחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMon youבְּבֹאֲכֶםbe/vo/a/KHEMwhen you enterמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוִהְיִיתֶםvih/yi/TEMand you will becomeלְאָלָהle/a/LAan oathוּלְשַׁמָּהu/le/sham/MAand a horrorוְלִקְלָלָהve/lik/la/LAand a curseוּלְחֶרְפָּהu/le/cher/PAand a reproachוְלֹא־תִרְאוּve/LO-tir/Uand you will not seeעוֹדodagainאֶת־הַמָּקוֹםet-ham/ma/KOMthe placeהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.

19. 19

    דִּבֶּרdib/BERhas spokenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMconcerning youשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITO remnant ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאַל־תָּבֹאוּal-ta/VO/udo not go intoמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptיָדֹעַya/DO/aknowתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou shall knowכִּי־הַעִידֹתִיki-ha/i/DO/tithat I have warnedבָכֶםva/KHEMyouהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMtoday

    The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

20. 20

    כִּיkifor[הִתְעֵיתֶם]hit/e/TEMyou have deceivedבְּנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶםbe/naf/sho/te/KHEMyourselvesכִּי־אַתֶּםki-at/TEMfor youשְׁלַחְתֶּםshe/lach/TEMyou sentאֹתִיo/TImeאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִתְפַּלֵּלhit/pal/LELprayבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godוּכְכֹלu/khe/KHOLand according to allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֹאמַרyo/MARwill sayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godכֵּןkensoהַגֶּד־לָנוּhag/GED-LA/nutell usוְעָשִׂינוּ׃ve/a/SI/nuand we will do it

    For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.

21. 21

    וָאַגִּדva/ag/GIDand I have toldלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayוְלֹאve/LObut notשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou have obeyedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLin anythingאֲשֶׁר־שְׁלָחַנִיa/SHER-she/la/CHA/nifor which has sent meאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

    And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.

22. 22

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיָדֹעַya/DO/aknowתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou shall knowכִּיkithatבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revby the swordבָּרָעָבba/ra/AVby the famineוּבַדֶּבֶרu/vad/DE/verand by the pestilenceתָּמוּתוּta/MU/tuyou will dieבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereחֲפַצְתֶּםcha/fats/TEMyou desireלָבוֹאla/VOto comeלָגוּרla/GURto sojournשָׁם׃shamthere

    Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go and to sojourn.
