   Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהַיֹּשֵׁבhay/yo/SHEVhe who staysבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisיָמוּתya/MUTwill dieבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revby the swordבָּרָעָבba/ra/AVby the famineוּבַדָּבֶרu/vad/DA/verand by the pestilenceוְהַיֹּצֵאve/hay/yo/TSEbut he who goes outאֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםel-Hak/kas/DIMto the Chaldeans(יחיה)yachayah[וְחָיָה]ve/cha/YAand he will liveוְהָיְתָה־לּוֹve/ha/ye/TA-loand will be to himנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeלְשָׁלָלle/sha/LALas a prizeוָחָי׃va/CHAYand he will live

   Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

   Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַשָּׂרִיםhas/sa/RIMthe princesאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingיוּמַתyu/MATlet be put to deathנָאnanowאֶת־הָאִישׁet-ha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּי־עַל־כֵּןki-al-kenfor thusהוּא־מְרַפֵּאhu-me/rap/PEhe is weakeningאֶת־יְדֵיet-ye/DEthe hands ofאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho remainבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאֵתve/ETandיְדֵיye/DEthe hands ofכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERby speakingאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכַּדְּבָרִיםkad/de/va/RIMaccording to the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּיkiforהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notדֹרֵשׁdo/RESHseekingלְשָׁלוֹםle/sha/LOMthe welfare ofלָעָםla/AMto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkibutאִם־לְרָעָה׃im-le/ra/Athe harm

   Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

   Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

   וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahוַיַּשְׁלִכוּvay/yash/LI/khuand castאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־הַבּוֹרel-hab/BORinto the cistern ofמַלְכִּיָּהוּMal/kiy/YA/huMalchijahבֶן־הַמֶּלֶךְven-ham/ME/lekhson of the kingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wasבַּחֲצַרba/cha/TSARin the court ofהַמַּטָּרָהham/mat/ta/RAthe guardוַיְשַׁלְּחוּvay/shal/le/CHUand they let downאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahבַּחֲבָלִיםba/cha/va/LIMwith cordsוּבַבּוֹרu/vab/BORand in the cisternאֵין־מַיִםen-MA/yimthere was no waterכִּיkibutאִם־טִיטim-titonly mudוַיִּטְבַּעvay/yit/BAand he sankיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahבַּטִּיט׃bat/TITin the mud

   Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

   Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

   וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outעֶבֶד־מֶלֶךְE/ved-ME/lekhEbed-melechמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Ebed-melech went forth out of the king's house, and spake to the king, saying,

   אֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהֵרֵעוּhe/RE/uhave done evilהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERin all thatעָשׂוּa/SUthey didלְיִרְמְיָהוּle/Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־הִשְׁלִיכוּet-a/SHER-hish/LI/khuwhom they have castאֶל־הַבּוֹרel-hab/BORinto the cisternוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand he will dieתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVwhere he isמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chembreadעוֹדodany moreבָּעִיר׃ba/IRin the city

   My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

    וַיְצַוֶּהvay/tsav/VEand commandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֵת־עֶבֶד־מֶלֶךְet-E/ved-ME/lekhEbed-melechהַכּוּשִׁיhak/Ku/SHIthe Cushiteלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingקַחkachtakeבְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAwith youמִזֶּהmiz/ZEfrom hereשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenוְהַעֲלִיתָve/ha/a/LI/taand lift upאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetמִן־הַבּוֹרmin-hab/BORout of the cisternבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיָמוּת׃ya/MUThe dies

    Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookעֶבֶד־מֶלֶךְE/ved-ME/lekhEbed-melechאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOwith himוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand went intoבֵית־הַמֶּלֶךְvet-ham/ME/lekhhouse of the kingאֶל־תַּחַתel-TA/chatunderהָאוֹצָרha/o/TSARthe treasuryוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereבְּלוֹיֵbe/lo/YEold rags of(הסחבות)hasachavavat[סְחָבוֹת]se/cha/VOTtorn clothsוּבְלוֹיֵu/ve/lo/YEand old rags ofמְלָחִיםme/la/CHIMworn garmentsוַיְשַׁלְּחֵםvay/shal/le/CHEMand let them downאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahאֶל־הַבּוֹרel-hab/BORinto the cisternבַּחֲבָלִים׃ba/cha/va/LIMby ropes

    So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעֶבֶד־מֶלֶךְE/ved-ME/lekhEbed-melechהַכּוּשִׁיhak/Ku/SHIthe Cushiteאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahשִׂיםsimputנָאnanowבְּלוֹאֵיbe/lo/Ethe old rags ofהַסְּחָבוֹתhas/se/cha/VOTthe torn clothsוְהַמְּלָחִיםve/ham/me/la/CHIMand the worn garmentsתַּחַתTA/chatunderאַצִּלוֹתats/tsi/LOTthe armpits ofיָדֶיךָya/DE/khayour armsמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatunderלַחֲבָלִיםla/cha/va/LIMthe ropesוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahכֵּן׃kenso

    And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

    וַיִּמְשְׁכוּvay/yim/she/KHUand they drewאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahבַּחֲבָלִיםba/cha/va/LIMwith ropesוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUand liftedאֹתוֹo/TOhimמִן־הַבּוֹרmin-hab/BORout of the cisternוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand remainedיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahבַּחֲצַרba/cha/TSARin the court ofהַמַּטָּרָה׃ham/mat/ta/RAthe guard

    So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHthen sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֶל־מָבוֹאel-ma/VOat the entranceהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthe thirdאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahשֹׁאֵלsho/ELwill askאֲנִיa/NIIאֹתְךָot/KHAyouדָּבָרda/VARsomethingאַל־תְּכַחֵדal-te/kha/CHEDdo not hideמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meדָּבָר׃da/VARanything

    Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahאֶל־צִדְקִיָּהוּel-Tsid/kiy/YA/huto Zedekiahכִּיkiifאַגִּידag/GIDI tellלְךָle/KHAyouהֲלוֹאha/LOwill you notהָמֵתha/METput to deathתְּמִיתֵנִיte/mi/TE/niyou will put me to deathוְכִיve/KHIand ifאִיעָצְךָi/a/tse/KHAI advise youלֹאlonotתִשְׁמַעtish/MAwill you listenאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

    Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

16. 16

    וַיִּשָּׁבַעvay/yish/sha/VAand sworeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahבַּסֵּתֶרbas/SE/tersecretlyלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingחַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaias the LORD lives(את)tאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָשָׂה־לָנוּa/SA-LA/numade for usאֶת־הַנֶּפֶשׁet-han/NE/feshthe soulהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאִם־אֲמִיתֶךָim-a/mi/TE/khaI will not put you to deathוְאִם־אֶתֶּנְךָve/IM-et/ten/KHAnor will I give youבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMseekאֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ׃et-naf/SHE/khayour life

    So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahאֶל־צִדְקִיָּהוּel-Tsid/kiy/YA/huto Zedekiahכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאִם־יָצֹאim-ya/TSOif go outתֵצֵאte/TSEyou will go outאֶל־שָׂרֵיel-sa/REto the princes ofמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonוְחָיְתָהve/cha/ye/TAthen will liveנַפְשֶׁךָnaf/SHE/khayour soulוְהָעִירve/ha/IRand the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלֹאlonotתִשָּׂרֵףtis/sa/REFwill be burnedבָּאֵשׁba/ESHby fireוְחָיִתָהve/cha/YI/taand you will liveאַתָּהat/TAyouוּבֵיתֶךָ׃u/ve/TE/khaand your house

    Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

18. 18

    וְאִםve/IMbut ifלֹא־תֵצֵאlo-te/TSEyou will not go outאֶל־שָׂרֵיel-sa/REto the princes ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְנִתְּנָהve/nit/te/NAthen will be givenהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּיםhak/Kas/DIMthe Chaldeansוּשְׂרָפוּהָu/se/ra/FU/haand they will burn itבָּאֵשׁba/ESHby fireוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youלֹא־תִמָּלֵטlo-tim/ma/LETwill not escapeמִיָּדָם׃miy/ya/DAMfrom their hand

    But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahאֲנִיa/NIIדֹאֵגdo/EGam afraid ofאֶת־הַיְּהוּדִיםet-Hay/ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָפְלוּna/fe/LUhave desertedאֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםel-Hak/kas/DIMto the Chaldeansפֶּן־יִתְּנוּpen-yit/te/NUlest they giveאֹתִיo/TImeבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMinto their handsוְהִתְעַלְּלוּ־בִי׃ve/hit/al/le/LU-viand they abuse me

    And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahלֹאlonotיִתֵּנוּyit/TE/nuwill they give youשְׁמַע־נָאshe/MA-naobey nowבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERin whatאֲנִיa/NIIדֹּבֵרdo/VERspeakאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוְיִיטַבve/yi/TAVand it will be wellלְךָle/KHAwith youוּתְחִיu/te/CHIand will liveנַפְשֶׁךָ׃naf/SHE/khayour soul

    But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

21. 21

    וְאִם־מָאֵןve/IM-ma/ENbut if refuseאַתָּהat/TAyouלָצֵאתla/TSETto go outזֶהzethis isהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִרְאַנִיhir/A/nihas shown meיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:

22. 22

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכׇל־הַנָּשִׁיםkhol-han/na/SHIMall the womenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִשְׁאֲרוּnish/a/RUare leftבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahמוּצָאוֹתmu/tsa/OTwill be brought outאֶל־שָׂרֵיel-sa/REto the princes ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְהֵנָּהve/HEN/naand theyאֹמְרֹתom/ROTwill sayהִסִּיתוּךָhis/si/TU/khahave misled youוְיָכְלוּve/ya/khe/LUand have prevailedלְךָle/KHAover youאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofשְׁלֹמֶךָshe/lo/ME/khayour peaceהׇטְבְּעוּhot/be/Uhave sunkבַבֹּץvab/BOTSin the mireרַגְלֶךָrag/LE/khayour footנָסֹגוּna/SO/guthey have turnedאָחוֹר׃a/CHORback

    And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

    וְאֶת־כׇּל־נָשֶׁיךָve/ET-kol-na/SHE/khaand all your wivesוְאֶת־בָּנֶיךָve/ET-ba/NE/khaand your sonsמוֹצִאִיםmo/tsi/IMthey will bring outאֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםel-Hak/kas/DIMto the Chaldeansוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youלֹא־תִמָּלֵטlo-tim/ma/LETwill not escapeמִיָּדָםmiy/ya/DAMout of their handsכִּיkibutבְיַדve/YADby the hand ofמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonתִּתָּפֵשׂtit/ta/FESyou will be takenוְאֶת־הָעִירve/ET-ha/IRand the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתִּשְׂרֹףtis/ROFyou will burnבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHby fire

    So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

24. 24

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahאִישׁishlet no oneאַל־יֵדַעal-ye/DAknowבַּדְּבָרִים־הָאֵלֶּהbad/de/va/RIM-ha/EL/leof these wordsוְלֹאve/LOand notתָמוּת׃ta/MUTwill you die

    Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

25. 25

    וְכִי־יִשְׁמְעוּve/KHI-yish/me/Ubut if hearהַשָּׂרִיםhas/sa/RIMthe princesכִּי־דִבַּרְתִּיki-dib/BAR/tithat I have spokenאִתָּךְit/TAKHwith youוּבָאוּu/VA/uand they comeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand sayאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youהַגִּידָה־נָּאhag/GI/da-natell nowלָנוּLA/nuusמַה־דִּבַּרְתָּma-dib/BAR/tawhat you saidאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingאַל־תְּכַחֵדal-te/kha/CHEDdo not hideמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom usוְלֹאve/LOand notנְמִיתֶךָne/mi/TE/khawill we put you to deathוּמַה־דִּבֶּרu/MA-dib/BERand what saidאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

26. 26

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמַפִּיל־אֲנִיmap/PIL-a/NII presentedתְחִנָּתִיte/chin/na/TImy supplicationלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotהֲשִׁיבֵנִיha/shi/VE/nito send me backבֵּיתbetto the house ofיְהוֹנָתָןYe/ho/na/TANJonathanלָמוּתla/MUTto dieשָׁם׃shamthere

    Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

27. 27

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameכׇל־הַשָּׂרִיםkhol-has/sa/RIMall the princesאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּel-Yir/me/YA/huto Jeremiahוַיִּשְׁאֲלוּvay/yish/a/LUand they askedאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand he toldלָהֶםla/HEMto themכְּכׇל־הַדְּבָרִיםke/KHOL-had/de/va/RIMaccording to all the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּחֲרִשׁוּvay/ya/cha/RI/shuso they stopped speakingמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuwith himכִּיkiforלֹא־נִשְׁמַעlo-nish/MAwas not heardהַדָּבָר׃had/da/VARthe matter

    Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

28. 28

    וַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevso remainedיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahבַּחֲצַרba/cha/TSARin the court ofהַמַּטָּרָהham/mat/ta/RAthe guardעַד־יוֹםad-yomuntil the day ofאֲשֶׁר־נִלְכְּדָהa/SHER-nil/ke/DAthat was takenיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenנִלְכְּדָהnil/ke/DAwas takenיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.
