    וַיְהִיand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahשֵׁנִיתagainוְהוּאand heעוֹדֶנּוּwhile he was stillעָצוּרconfinedבַּחֲצַרin the courtyard ofהַמַּטָּרָהthe guardלֵאמֹר׃saying

    Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

    כֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDעֹשָׂהּthe maker of itיְהֹוָהthe LORDיוֹצֵרthat formedאוֹתָהּitלַהֲכִינָהּto establish itיְהֹוָהthe LORDשְׁמוֹ׃his name

    Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;

    קְרָאcallאֵלַיto meוְאֶעֱנֶךָּand I will answer youוְאַגִּידָהand showלְּךָyouגְּדֹלוֹתgreatוּבְצֻרוֹתand mighty thingsלֹאnotיְדַעְתָּם׃you knowst

    Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

    כִּיforכֹהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelעַל־בָּתֵּיconcerning the houses ofהָעִירthe cityהַזֹּאתthisוְעַל־בָּתֵּיand concerning the houses ofמַלְכֵיkings ofיְהוּדָהJudahהַנְּתֻצִיםwhich are thrown downאֶל־הַסֹּלְלוֹתto withstand the siege worksוְאֶל־הֶחָרֶב׃and the sword

    For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

    בָּאִיםthey comeלְהִלָּחֵםto fightאֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansוּלְמַלְאָםand thereby to fill themאֶת־פִּגְרֵיwith the dead bodies ofהָאָדָםthose menאֲשֶׁר־הִכֵּיתִיwhom I shall stayבְאַפִּיin my angerוּבַחֲמָתִיand in my furyוַאֲשֶׁרand whichהִסְתַּרְתִּיI have hidפָנַיmy faceמֵהָעִירfrom the cityהַזֹּאתthisעַלuponכׇּל־רָעָתָם׃all their wickedness

    They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

    הִנְנִיbehold Iמַעֲלֶה־לָּהּI will bring itאֲרֻכָהhealingוּמַרְפֵּאand cureוּרְפָאתִיםand I will heal themוְגִלֵּיתִיand will revealלָהֶםto themעֲתֶרֶתthe abundance ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceוֶאֱמֶת׃and truth

    Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

    וַהֲשִׁבֹתִיand I will cause to returnאֶת־שְׁבוּתthe captivity ofיְהוּדָהJudahוְאֵתandשְׁבוּתthe captivity ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוּבְנִתִיםand will build themכְּבָרִאשֹׁנָה׃as at the former time

    And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

    וְטִהַרְתִּיםand I will cleanse themמִכׇּל־עֲוֺנָםfrom all their iniquityאֲשֶׁרwhichחָטְאוּ־לִיthey have sinned against meוְסָלַחְתִּיand I will pardon[לְכׇל־]עֲוֺנוֹתֵיהֶםto all their iniquitiesאֲשֶׁרwhichחָטְאוּ־לִיthey have sinned against meוַאֲשֶׁרand whichפָּשְׁעוּthey transgressedבִי׃against Me

    And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

    וְהָיְתָהand it beלִּיto meלְשֵׁםa name ofשָׂשׂוֹןjoyלִתְהִלָּהa praiseוּלְתִפְאֶרֶתand an honorלְכֹלfor allגּוֹיֵיthe nations ofהָאָרֶץthe earthאֲשֶׁרwhichיִשְׁמְעוּwho shall hearאֶת־כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָהall the goodאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIעֹשֶׂהI doאוֹתָםthemוּפָחֲדוּand they shall fearוְרָגְזוּand trembleעַלuponכׇּל־הַטּוֹבָהall the goodוְעַלand uponכׇּל־הַשָּׁלוֹםall the prosperityאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIעֹשֶׂהI doלָּהּ׃to her

    And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

    כֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDעוֹדagainיִשָּׁמַעthere shall be heardבַּמָּקוֹם־הַזֶּהin this placeאֲשֶׁרwhichאַתֶּםyou areאֹמְרִיםsayחָרֵבshall be desolateהוּאheמֵאֵיןwithoutאָדָםmanוּמֵאֵיןand withoutבְּהֵמָהbeastבְּעָרֵיin the cities ofיְהוּדָהJudahוּבְחֻצוֹתand in the streets ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemהַנְשַׁמּוֹתthat are desolateמֵאֵיןwithoutאָדָםmanוּמֵאֵיןand withoutיוֹשֵׁבinhabitantוּמֵאֵיןand withoutבְּהֵמָה׃beast

    Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,

    קוֹלthe voice ofשָׂשׂוֹןjoyוְקוֹלand the voice ofשִׂמְחָהjoyקוֹלthe voice ofחָתָןthe bridegroomוְקוֹלand the voice ofכַּלָּהthe brideקוֹלthe voice ofאֹמְרִיםthem that shall sayהוֹדוּpraiseאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsכִּי־טוֹבfor is goodיְהֹוָהthe LORDכִּי־לְעוֹלָםfor endures for everחַסְדּוֹhis loyal loveמְבִאִיםwhen they shall bringתּוֹדָהthe sacrifice of thanksgivingבֵּיתinto the house ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDכִּי־אָשִׁיבfor I will cause to returnאֶת־שְׁבוּת־הָאָרֶץthe captivity of the landכְּבָרִאשֹׁנָהas at the former timeאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

    כֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsעוֹדagainיִהְיֶהshall beבַּמָּקוֹםin the placeהַזֶּהthisהֶחָרֵבwhich is desolateמֵאֵין־אָדָםwithout manוְעַד־בְּהֵמָהand without beastוּבְכׇל־עָרָיוand in all its citiesנְוֵהa habitation ofרֹעִיםshepherdsמַרְבִּצִיםwho make lie downצֹאן׃flocks

    Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

    בְּעָרֵיin the cities ofהָהָרthe mountainבְּעָרֵיin the cities ofהַשְּׁפֵלָהthe lowlandוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofהַנֶּגֶבthe southוּבְאֶרֶץand in the land ofבִּנְיָמִןBenjaminוּבִסְבִיבֵיand in the places aboutיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofיְהוּדָהJudahעֹדagainתַּעֲבֹרְנָהshall passהַצֹּאןthe flockעַל־יְדֵיunder the hands ofמוֹנֶהone who countsאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.

    הִנֵּהbeholdיָמִיםdaysבָּאִיםcomeנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDוַהֲקִמֹתִיand I will establishאֶת־הַדָּבָרthe wordהַטּוֹבthe goodאֲשֶׁרwhichדִּבַּרְתִּיI have spokenאֶל־בֵּיתto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְעַל־בֵּיתand upon the house ofיְהוּדָה׃Judah

    Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

  15. 15

    בַּיָּמִיםin the daysהָהֵםthoseוּבָעֵתand at that timeהַהִיאthatאַצְמִיחַI will make growלְדָוִדof Davidצֶמַחthe branch ofצְדָקָהa state of righteousnessוְעָשָׂהand shall doמִשְׁפָּטjudgmentוּצְדָקָהand righteousnessבָּאָרֶץ׃in the land

    In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

    בַּיָּמִיםin the daysהָהֵםthoseתִּוָּשַׁעit will be savedיְהוּדָהJudahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםand Jerusalemתִּשְׁכּוֹןit dwellsלָבֶטַחin safetyוְזֶהand thisאֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָא־לָהּwhich calls itיְהֹוָהthe LORDצִדְקֵנוּ׃our righteousness

    In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

  17. 17

    כִּי־כֹהbecause thusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDלֹא־יִכָּרֵתnot he shall be cut offלְדָוִדof Davidאִישׁa manיֹשֵׁבwho dwell inעַל־כִּסֵּאupon throneבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃the house of Israel

    For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

  18. 18

    וְלַכֹּהֲנִיםand to the those priestsהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesלֹא־יִכָּרֵתnot he shall be cut offאִישׁa manמִלְּפָנָיfrom My-presenceמַעֲלֶהbrings upעוֹלָהascends upוּמַקְטִירand burningמִנְחָהa grain offeringוְעֹשֶׂהand I make itזֶּבַחa sacrificeכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃all the days

    Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

  19. 19

    וַיְהִיand it came to passדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahלֵאמוֹר׃saying

    And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,

  20. 20

    כֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאִם־תָּפֵרוּif breakאֶת־בְּרִיתִיmy covenantהַיּוֹםthe dayוְאֶת־בְּרִיתִיand my covenantהַלָּיְלָהthe nightוּלְבִלְתִּיand that notהֱיוֹתhaveיוֹמָם־וָלַיְלָהby day and a nightבְּעִתָּם׃in their time

    Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

  21. 21

    גַּם־בְּרִיתִיalso my covenantתֻפַרit will be brokenאֶת־דָּוִדDavidעַבְדִּיmy servantמִהְיוֹת־לוֹfrom being himבֵןsonמֹלֵךְwho reignsעַל־כִּסְאוֹupon His-throneוְאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםand the Levitesהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsמְשָׁרְתָי׃my servants

    Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

  22. 22

    אֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יִסָּפֵרnot it will be countedצְבָאan army ofהַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensוְלֹאand notיִמַּדhe shall be measuredחוֹלsandהַיָּםthe seaכֵּןthusאַרְבֶּהI will greatאֶת־זֶרַעseed ofדָּוִדDavidעַבְדִּיmy servantוְאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםand the Levitesמְשָׁרְתֵיministers ofאֹתִי׃me

    As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

  23. 23

    וַיְהִיand it came to passדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahלֵאמֹר׃saying

    Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

  24. 24

    הֲלוֹאis it notרָאִיתָyou sawמָה־הָעָםwhat the peopleהַזֶּהthisדִּבְּרוּhave spokenלֵאמֹרsayingשְׁתֵּיtwoהַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹתthe familiesאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּחַרchoseיְהֹוָהthe LORDבָּהֶםin themוַיִּמְאָסֵםand he has rejected themוְאֶת־עַמִּיand my peopleיִנְאָצוּןthey spurnמִהְיוֹתfrom beingעוֹדany moreגּוֹיnationלִפְנֵיהֶם׃down before them

    Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

  25. 25

    כֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאִם־לֹאif notבְרִיתִיmy covenantיוֹמָםby dayוָלָיְלָהand the nightחֻקּוֹתthe decrees ofשָׁמַיִםthe heavensוָאָרֶץand earthלֹא־שָׂמְתִּי׃not I have ordained

    Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

  26. 26

    גַּם־זֶרַעalso seedיַעֲקוֹבJacobוְדָוִדand Davidעַבְדִּיmy servantאֶמְאַסI rejectמִקַּחַתfrom takingמִזַּרְעוֹfrom his seedמֹשְׁלִיםrulersאֶל־זֶרַעto seedאַבְרָהָםAbrahamיִשְׂחָקhe laughsוְיַעֲקֹבand Jacobכִּי־[אָשִׁיב]because I will return(אשוב)אֶת־שְׁבוּתָםtheir captivityוְרִחַמְתִּים׃and I will have compassion on them

    Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
