    הַדָּבָרthe wordאֲשֶׁר־הָיָהwhich wasאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahמֵאֵתfromיְהֹוָהthe LORD(בשנת)[בַּשָּׁנָה]in the yearהָעֲשִׂרִיתthe tenthלְצִדְקִיָּהוּof Zedekiahמֶלֶךְthe king ofיְהוּדָהJudahהִיאit isהַשָּׁנָהthe yearשְׁמֹנֶה־עֶשְׂרֵהthe eighteenthשָׁנָהyearלִנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר׃of Nebuchadrezzar

    The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

    וְאָזand thenחֵילthe army ofמֶלֶךְthe king ofבָּבֶלBabylonצָרִיםwas besiegingעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםupon Jerusalemוְיִרְמְיָהוּand Jeremiahהַנָּבִיאthe prophetהָיָהwasכָלוּאwas shut upבַּחֲצַרin the courtyard ofהַמַּטָּרָהthe guardאֲשֶׁרwhichבֵּית־מֶלֶךְin the house of the king ofיְהוּדָה׃Judah

    For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

    אֲשֶׁרwhichכְּלָאוֹhad shut him upצִדְקִיָּהוּZedekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהking of Judahלֵאמֹרsayingמַדּוּעַwhyאַתָּהyouנִבָּאdo you prophesyלֵאמֹרsayingכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDהִנְנִיbehold IנֹתֵןI will giveאֶת־הָעִירthe cityהַזֹּאתthisבְּיַדin the hand ofמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלking of Babylonוּלְכָדָהּ׃and he shall take it

    For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

    וְצִדְקִיָּהוּand Zedekiahמֶלֶךְthe king ofיְהוּדָהJudahלֹאnotיִמָּלֵטshall escapeמִיַּדfrom the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansכִּיbecauseהִנָּתֹןsurelyיִנָּתֵןbe deliveredבְּיַדin the hand ofמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלking of Babylonוְדִבֶּר־פִּיוand shall speak mouthעִם־פִּיוto mouthוְעֵינָיוand his eyesאֶת־עֵינָוhis eyesתִּרְאֶינָה׃shall behold

    And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

    וּבָבֶלand to Babylonיוֹלִךְhe shall leadאֶת־צִדְקִיָּהוּZedekiahוְשָׁםand thereיִהְיֶהshall beעַד־פׇּקְדִיuntil I visitאֹתוֹhimנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDכִּיbecauseתִלָּחֲמוּyou shall fightאֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansלֹאnotתַצְלִיחוּ׃you shall prosper

    And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיִרְמְיָהוּJeremiahהָיָהhas comeדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹר׃saying

    And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

    הִנֵּהbeholdחֲנַמְאֵלHanameelבֶּן־שַׁלֻּםson of Shallumדֹּדְךָyour uncleבָּאshall comeאֵלֶיךָto youלֵאמֹרsayingקְנֵהbuyלְךָfor youאֶת־שָׂדִיmy fieldאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּעֲנָתוֹתin Anathothכִּיforלְךָfor youמִשְׁפַּטthe right ofהַגְּאֻלָּהthe redemptionלִקְנוֹת׃to buy it

    Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

    וַיָּבֹאand cameאֵלַיto meחֲנַמְאֵלHanameelבֶּן־דֹּדִיson of my uncleכִּדְבַרaccording to the word ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־חֲצַרin the court ofהַמַּטָּרָהthe guardוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meקְנֵהbuyנָאI prayאֶת־שָׂדִיmy fieldאֲשֶׁר־בַּעֲנָתוֹתthat is in Anathothאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּאֶרֶץin the country ofבִּנְיָמִיןBenjaminכִּי־לְךָbecause for youמִשְׁפַּטthe right ofהַיְרֻשָּׁהinheritanceוּלְךָand to youהַגְּאֻלָּהthe redemptionקְנֵה־לָךְbuy for youוָאֵדַעthen I knewכִּיbecauseדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDהוּא׃this was

    So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

    וָאֶקְנֶהand I boughtאֶת־הַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldמֵאֵתfromחֲנַמְאֵלHanameelבֶּן־דֹּדִיson of my uncleאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּעֲנָתוֹתin Anathothוָאֶשְׁקְלָה־לּוֹand weighed himאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףthe moneyשִׁבְעָהseventeenשְׁקָלִיםshekelsוַעֲשָׂרָהofהַכָּסֶף׃silver

    And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

    וָאֶכְתֹּבand I subscribedבַּסֵּפֶרthe deedוָאֶחְתֹּםand I sealed itוָאָעֵדand tookעֵדִיםwitnessesוָאֶשְׁקֹלand I weighed outהַכֶּסֶףthe moneyבְּמֹאזְנָיִם׃with scales

    And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

    וָאֶקַּחand I tookאֶת־סֵפֶרthe deed ofהַמִּקְנָהthe purchaseאֶת־הֶחָתוּםboth that which was sealedהַמִּצְוָהcontaining the termsוְהַחֻקִּיםand conditionsוְאֶת־הַגָּלוּי׃and which was open

    So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

    וָאֶתֵּןand I gaveאֶת־הַסֵּפֶרthe deed ofהַמִּקְנָהthe purchaseאֶל־בָּרוּךְto Baruchבֶּן־נֵרִיָּהson of Neriahבֶּן־מַחְסֵיָהson of Mahseiahלְעֵינֵיin the sight ofחֲנַמְאֵלHanameelדֹּדִיmy uncleוּלְעֵינֵיand in the presence ofהָעֵדִיםthe witnessesהַכֹּתְבִיםthat subscribedבְּסֵפֶרin the book ofהַמִּקְנָהthe purchaseלְעֵינֵיin the sight ofכׇּל־הַיְּהוּדִיםall the men of Judahהַיֹּשְׁבִיםthat satבַּחֲצַרin the courtyard ofהַמַּטָּרָה׃the guard

    And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

    וָאֲצַוֶּהand I chargedאֶת־בָּרוּךְBaruchלְעֵינֵיהֶםbefore themלֵאמֹר׃saying

    And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

  14. 14

    כֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלָקוֹחַtakeאֶת־הַסְּפָרִיםthese documentsהָאֵלֶּהtheseאֵת־סֵפֶרthis deed ofהַמִּקְנָהthe purchaseהַזֶּהthisוְאֵתandהֶחָתוּםwhich was sealedוְאֵתandסֵפֶרdeedהַגָּלוּיopenהַזֶּהthisוּנְתַתָּםand put themבִּכְלִי־חָרֶשׂin a vessel of earthenwareלְמַעַןin order thatיַעַמְדוּthey may lastיָמִיםdaysרַבִּים׃many

    Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.

    כִּיforכֹהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelעוֹדany moreיִקָּנוּthey will be boughtבָתִּיםhousesוְשָׂדוֹתand fieldsוּכְרָמִיםand vineyardsבָּאָרֶץin the landהַזֹּאת׃this

    For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

    וָאֶתְפַּלֵּלand I prayedאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDאַחֲרֵיafterתִתִּיI had deliveredאֶת־סֵפֶרthe deed ofהַמִּקְנָהthe purchaseאֶל־בָּרוּךְto Baruchבֶּן־נֵרִיָּהson of Neriahלֵאמֹר׃saying

    Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

    אֲהָהּalas!אֲדֹנָיLordיֱהֹוִהGODהִנֵּהbeholdאַתָּהyouעָשִׂיתָYou hast madeאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץand the earthבְּכֹחֲךָby Your powerהַגָּדוֹלthe greatוּבִזְרֹעֲךָand armהַנְּטוּיָהstretched outלֹא־יִפָּלֵאthere is nothing too hardמִמְּךָfor Youכׇּל־דָּבָר׃any thing

    Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

  18. 18

    עֹשֶׂהYou showstחֶסֶדloyal loveלַאֲלָפִיםto thousandsוּמְשַׁלֵּםand dost recompenseעֲוֺןthe iniquity ofאָבוֹתthe fathersאֶל־חֵיקinto the bosom ofבְּנֵיהֶםtheir sonsאַחֲרֵיהֶםafter themהָאֵלO Godהַגָּדוֹלthe greatהַגִּבּוֹרand mightyיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsשְׁמוֹ׃his name

    Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

    גְּדֹלgreat inהָעֵצָהcounselוְרַבand mighty inהָעֲלִילִיָּהperformanceאֲשֶׁר־עֵינֶיךָwhich your eyesפְקֻחוֹתare openעַל־כׇּל־דַּרְכֵיupon all the ways ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofאָדָםmenלָתֵתto giveלְאִישׁevery oneכִּדְרָכָיוaccording to his waysוְכִפְרִיand according to the fruit ofמַעֲלָלָיו׃his deeds

    Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

  20. 20

    אֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתָּwho hast setאֹתוֹתsignsוּמֹפְתִיםand wondersבְּאֶרֶץ־מִצְרַיִםin the land of Egyptעַד־הַיּוֹםto dayהַזֶּהthisוּבְיִשְׂרָאֵלand in Israelוּבָאָדָםand among mankindוַתַּעֲשֶׂה־לְּךָand hast made Youשֵׁםa nameכַּיּוֹםas the dayהַזֶּה׃this

    Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

    וַתֹּצֵאand you brought outאֶת־עַמְּךָYour peopleאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptבְּאֹתוֹתby signsוּבְמוֹפְתִיםand by wondersוּבְיָדand by a handחֲזָקָהstrongוּבְאֶזְרוֹעַand by an armנְטוּיָהstretched outוּבְמוֹרָאand with terrorגָּדוֹל׃great

    And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

    וַתִּתֵּןand You have givenלָהֶםto themאֶת־הָאָרֶץthe landהַזֹּאתthisאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְתָּwhich You didst swearלַאֲבוֹתָםto their fathersלָתֵתto giveלָהֶםto themאֶרֶץa landזָבַתflowingחָלָבmilkוּדְבָשׁ׃and honey

    And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

    וַיָּבֹאוּand they cameוַיִּרְשׁוּand possessedאֹתָהּitוְלֹא־שָׁמְעוּand not they heardבְקוֹלֶךָYour voice[וּבְתוֹרָתְךָ]neither in Your lawלֹא־הָלָכוּdid they walkאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall thatצִוִּיתָהYou didst commandלָהֶםto themלַעֲשׂוֹתto doלֹאnotעָשׂוּhave they doneוַתַּקְרֵאtherefore You hast caused to come uponאֹתָםthemאֵת־כׇּל־הָרָעָהall the evilהַזֹּאת׃this

    And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

  24. 24

    הִנֵּהbeholdהַסֹּלְלוֹתthe siege worksבָּאוּare comeהָעִירto the cityלְלׇכְדָהּto take itוְהָעִירand the cityנִתְּנָהis givenבְּיַדin the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansהַנִּלְחָמִיםthat fightעָלֶיהָupon itמִפְּנֵיbecause ofהַחֶרֶבthe swordוְהָרָעָבand the famineוְהַדָּבֶרand the pestilenceוַאֲשֶׁרand whichדִּבַּרְתָּyou have spokenהָיָהis come to passוְהִנְּךָand behold Youרֹאֶה׃see

    Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

    וְאַתָּהand youאָמַרְתָּYou hast saidאֵלַיto meאֲדֹנָיLordיֱהֹוִהGODקְנֵה־לְךָbuy for youהַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldבַּכֶּסֶףfor moneyוְהָעֵדand takeעֵדִיםwitnessesוְהָעִירand the cityנִתְּנָהis givenבְּיַדin the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּים׃the Chaldeans

    And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

  26. 26

    וַיְהִיand it came to passדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahלֵאמֹר׃saying

    Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

  27. 27

    הִנֵּהbeholdאֲנִיIיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofכׇּל־בָּשָׂרall the fleshהֲמִמֶּנִּיis there for meיִפָּלֵאanything too hardכׇּל־דָּבָר׃any thing

    Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

  28. 28

    לָכֵןthereforeכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDהִנְנִיbehold IנֹתֵןI will giveאֶת־הָעִירthe cityהַזֹּאתthisבְּיַדin the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansוּבְיַדand by the hand ofנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלking of Babylonוּלְכָדָהּ׃and he shall take it

    Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

  29. 29

    וּבָאוּshall comeהַכַּשְׂדִּיםthe Chaldeansהַנִּלְחָמִיםthat fightעַל־הָעִירagainst cityהַזֹּאתthisוְהִצִּיתוּand set fire toאֶת־הָעִירthe cityהַזֹּאתthisבָּאֵשׁby fireוּשְׂרָפוּהָand burn itוְאֵתandהַבָּתִּיםthe housesאֲשֶׁרwhichקִטְּרוּthey have offered incenseעַל־גַּגּוֹתֵיהֶםupon their roofsלַבַּעַלto the Baalוְהִסִּכוּand poured outנְסָכִיםdrink offeringsלֵאלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםto other godsלְמַעַןin order thatהַכְעִסֵנִי׃to provoke me to anger

    And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

    כִּי־הָיוּbecause wereבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelוּבְנֵיand sons ofיְהוּדָהJudahאַךְbutעֹשִׂיםhave doneהָרַעonly evilבְּעֵינַיbefore Meמִנְּעֻרֹתֵיהֶםfrom their youthכִּיbecauseבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאַךְbutמַכְעִסִיםhave only provoked to angerאֹתִיmeבְּמַעֲשֵׂהby the work ofיְדֵיהֶםtheir handsנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃says the LORD

    For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

  31. 31

    כִּיforעַל־אַפִּיas a provocation of My angerוְעַל־חֲמָתִיand of My furyהָיְתָהhas beenלִּיto meהָעִירthe cityהַזֹּאתthisלְמִן־הַיּוֹםfrom the dayאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּנוּthey builtאוֹתָהּitוְעַדand untoהַיּוֹםthe dayהַזֶּהthisלַהֲסִירָהּto remove itמֵעַלfrom uponפָּנָי׃My face

    For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

    עַלuponכׇּל־רָעַתall the evil ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelוּבְנֵיand sons ofיְהוּדָהJudahאֲשֶׁרwhichעָשׂוּthey didלְהַכְעִסֵנִיto provoke me to angerהֵמָּהtheyמַלְכֵיהֶםtheir kingsשָׂרֵיהֶםtheir princesכֹּהֲנֵיהֶםtheir priestsוּנְבִיאֵיהֶםand their prophetsוְאִישׁand the men ofיְהוּדָהJudahוְיֹשְׁבֵיand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Jerusalem

    Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

    וַיִּפְנוּand they have turnedאֵלַיto meעֹרֶףtheir backוְלֹאand notפָנִיםtheir faceוְלַמֵּדthough I taught themאֹתָםthemהַשְׁכֵּםfrom morningוְלַמֵּדthough I taught themוְאֵינָםyet they have notשֹׁמְעִיםhearkenedלָקַחַתto receiveמוּסָר׃discipline

    And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

    וַיָּשִׂימוּbut they setשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶםtheir detestable thingsבַּבַּיִתin the houseאֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָא־שְׁמִיwhich is called by my nameעָלָיוupon itלְטַמְּאוֹ׃to defile it

    But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

    וַיִּבְנוּand they builtאֶת־בָּמוֹתthe high places ofהַבַּעַלthe Baalאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּגֵיאin the valley ofבֶן־הִנֹּםHinnomלְהַעֲבִירto cause to pass throughאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםtheir sonsוְאֶת־בְּנוֹתֵיהֶםand their daughtersלַמֹּלֶךְto Molechאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־צִוִּיתִיםnot I have commanded themוְלֹאand notעָלְתָהdid it comeעַל־לִבִּיupon my heartלַעֲשׂוֹתto doהַתּוֹעֵבָהthe abominationהַזֹּאתthisלְמַעַןin order thatהַחֲטִיto cause to sinאֶת־יְהוּדָה׃Judah

    And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

    וְעַתָּהand nowלָכֵןthereforeכֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֶל־הָעִירconcerning cityהַזֹּאתthisאֲשֶׁרwhichאַתֶּםyou areאֹמְרִיםsayנִתְּנָהit shall be deliveredבְּיַדin the hand ofמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלking of Babylonבַּחֶרֶבwith the swordוּבָרָעָבand by famineוּבַדָּבֶר׃and by the pestilence

    And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

    הִנְנִיbehold IמְקַבְּצָםI will gather themמִכׇּל־הָאֲרָצוֹתfrom all the landsאֲשֶׁרwhichהִדַּחְתִּיםI have driven themשָׁםthereבְּאַפִּיin My angerוּבַחֲמָתִיand in My furyוּבְקֶצֶףand in wrathגָּדוֹלgreatוַהֲשִׁבֹתִיםand I will bring back themאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםunto the placeהַזֶּהthisוְהֹשַׁבְתִּיםand I will cause them to dwellלָבֶטַח׃in safety

    Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

  38. 38

    וְהָיוּand they shall beלִיto meלְעָםMy peopleוַאֲנִיand Iאֶהְיֶהwill beלָהֶםto themלֵאלֹהִים׃their God

    And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

  39. 39

    וְנָתַתִּיand I will giveלָהֶםto themלֵבheartאֶחָדoneוְדֶרֶךְand wayאֶחָדoneלְיִרְאָהthat they may fearאוֹתִיmeכׇּל־הַיָּמִיםfor everלְטוֹבfor goodלָהֶםto themוְלִבְנֵיהֶםand that of their childrenאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃after them

    And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

  40. 40

    וְכָרַתִּיand I will makeלָהֶםto themבְּרִיתa covenantעוֹלָםeverlastingאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־אָשׁוּבI will not turn awayמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶםfrom themלְהֵיטִיבִיfrom doing goodאוֹתָםthemוְאֶת־יִרְאָתִיbut My fearאֶתֵּןI will putבִּלְבָבָםin their heartsלְבִלְתִּיto notסוּרturn asideמֵעָלָי׃from me

    And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

  41. 41

    וְשַׂשְׂתִּיand I will rejoiceעֲלֵיהֶםupon themלְהֵטִיבto do goodאוֹתָםthemוּנְטַעְתִּיםand I will plant themבָּאָרֶץin the landהַזֹּאתthisבֶּאֱמֶתtrulyבְּכׇל־לִבִּיwith My whole heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשִׁי׃and with My whole soul

    Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

  42. 42

    כִּי־כֹהbecause thusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDכַּאֲשֶׁרasהֵבֵאתִיI have broughtאֶל־הָעָםupon peopleהַזֶּהthisאֵת־כׇּל־הָרָעָהall the evilהַגְּדוֹלָהthe greatהַזֹּאתthisכֵּןsoאָנֹכִיIמֵבִיאwill I bringעֲלֵיהֶםupon themאֶת־כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָהall the goodאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIדֹּבֵרI have promisedעֲלֵיהֶם׃upon them

    For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

  43. 43

    וְנִקְנָהand shall be broughtהַשָּׂדֶהfieldsבָּאָרֶץin the landהַזֹּאתthisאֲשֶׁרwhichאַתֶּםyou areאֹמְרִיםsayשְׁמָמָהit is desolateהִיאit isמֵאֵיןwithoutאָדָםmanוּבְהֵמָהor beastנִתְּנָהit is givenבְּיַדin the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּים׃the Chaldeans

    And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

  44. 44

    שָׂדוֹתfieldsבַּכֶּסֶףfor moneyיִקְנוּmen shall buyוְכָתוֹבand subscribeבַּסֵּפֶרdeedsוְחָתוֹםand seal themוְהָעֵדand takeעֵדִיםwitnessesבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofבִּנְיָמִןBenjaminוּבִסְבִיבֵיand in the places aboutיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofיְהוּדָהJudahוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofהָהָרthe mountainוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofהַשְּׁפֵלָהthe coastal plainוּבְעָרֵיand in the cities ofהַנֶּגֶבthe southכִּי־אָשִׁיבfor I will cause to returnאֶת־שְׁבוּתָםtheir captivityנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃says the LORD

    Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
