    הַדָּבָרthe wordאֲשֶׁרwhichהָיָהwasאֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּto Jeremiahמֵאֵתfromיְהֹוָהthe LORDלֵאמֹר׃saying

    The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

    כֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלֵאמֹרsayingכְּתׇב־לְךָwriteאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםall the wordsאֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּרְתִּיwhich I have spokenאֵלֶיךָto youאֶל־סֵפֶר׃in a book

    Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

    כִּיforהִנֵּהbeholdיָמִיםdaysבָּאִיםcomeנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDוְשַׁבְתִּיwhen I will bring backאֶת־שְׁבוּתthe captivity ofעַמִּיmy peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוִיהוּדָהand Judahאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַהֲשִׁבֹתִיםand I will bring back themאֶל־הָאָרֶץunto the landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתִּיwhich I gaveלַאֲבוֹתָםto their fathersוִירֵשׁוּהָ׃and they shall possess it

    For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

    וְאֵלֶּהand theseהַדְּבָרִיםthe wordsאֲשֶׁרwhichדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵלconcerning Israelוְאֶל־יְהוּדָה׃and concerning Judah

    And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

    כִּי־כֹהbecause thusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDקוֹלthe voice ofחֲרָדָהof tremblingשָׁמָעְנוּwe have heardפַּחַדof fearוְאֵיןand there is noשָׁלוֹם׃peace

    For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

    שַׁאֲלוּ־נָאask nowוּרְאוּand seeאִם־יֹלֵדwhether travails with childזָכָרa manמַדּוּעַwhyרָאִיתִיdo I seeכׇל־גֶּבֶרevery manיָדָיוhis handsעַל־חֲלָצָיוupon his loinsכַּיּוֹלֵדָהas the woman in travailוְנֶהֶפְכוּand are turnedכׇל־פָּנִיםall facesלְיֵרָקוֹן׃into paleness

    Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

    הוֹיalasכִּיforגָדוֹלgreatהַיּוֹםthe dayהַהוּאthatמֵאַיִןso that noneכָּמֹהוּis like itוְעֵת־צָרָהand it is a time of troubleהִיאit isלְיַעֲקֹבto Jacobוּמִמֶּנָּהand from itיִוָּשֵׁעַ׃he shall be saved

    Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

    וְהָיָהand beבַיּוֹםby the dayהַהוּאthatנְאֻםsaysיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof HostsאֶשְׁבֹּרI will breakעֻלּוֹhis yokeמֵעַלfrom uponצַוָּארֶךָyour neckוּמוֹסְרוֹתֶיךָand your bandsאֲנַתֵּקwill burstוְלֹא־יַעַבְדוּ־בוֹand shall no more enslave himעוֹדany moreזָרִים׃strangers

    For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

    וְעָבְדוּand they will serveאֵת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםtheir GodוְאֵתandדָּוִדDavidמַלְכָּםtheir kingאֲשֶׁרwhichאָקִיםshall I raise upלָהֶם׃to them

    But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

  10. 10

    וְאַתָּהand youאַל־תִּירָאbe not afraidעַבְדִּיmy servantיַעֲקֹבJacobנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDוְאַל־תֵּחַתand be not dismayedיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelכִּיforהִנְנִיbehold IמוֹשִׁיעֲךָI will save youמֵרָחוֹקfrom farוְאֶת־זַרְעֲךָand your seedמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofשִׁבְיָםtheir captivityוְשָׁבand shall returnיַעֲקֹבJacobוְשָׁקַטand shall be quietוְשַׁאֲנַןand at easeוְאֵיןand there is noמַחֲרִיד׃shall make him afraid

    Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

    כִּי־אִתְּךָbecause with youאֲנִיIנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDלְהוֹשִׁיעֶךָto save youכִּיbecauseאֶעֱשֶׂהI will makeכָלָהa full endבְּכׇל־הַגּוֹיִםin all the nationsאֲשֶׁרwhichהֲפִצוֹתִיךָI have scattered youשָּׁםthereאַךְbutאֹתְךָyouלֹא־אֶעֱשֶׂהwill I not makeכָלָהa full endוְיִסַּרְתִּיךָbut I will correct youלַמִּשְׁפָּטin due measureוְנַקֵּהaltogetherלֹאnotאֲנַקֶּךָּ׃will I leave you unpunished

    For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

    כִּיforכֹהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאָנוּשׁis incurableלְשִׁבְרֵךְyour bruiseנַחְלָהis grievousמַכָּתֵךְ׃your wound

    For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

  13. 13

    אֵין־דָּןthere is none to pleadדִּינֵךְyour causeלְמָזוֹרto bind up the woundרְפֻאוֹתhealing medicinesתְּעָלָהyou hast noאֵיןthere is noלָךְ׃to you

    There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

    כׇּל־מְאַהֲבַיִךְall your loversשְׁכֵחוּךְhave forgotten youאוֹתָךְyouלֹאnotיִדְרֹשׁוּthey seekכִּיbecauseמַכַּתwith the wound ofאוֹיֵבan enemyהִכִּיתִיךְI struck youמוּסַרwith the chastisement ofאַכְזָרִיa cruel oneעַלuponרֹבthe multitude ofעֲוֺנֵךְyour iniquityעָצְמוּwere increasedחַטֹּאתָיִךְ׃your sins

    All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

    מַה־תִּזְעַקwhy cry youעַל־שִׁבְרֵךְfor your hurtאָנוּשׁis incurableמַכְאֹבֵךְyour sorrowעַלuponרֹבthe multitude ofעֲוֺנֵךְyour iniquityעָצְמוּwere increasedחַטֹּאתַיִךְyour sinsעָשִׂיתִיI have doneאֵלֶּהtheseלָךְ׃to you

    Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

    לָכֵןthereforeכׇּל־אֹכְלַיִךְall those who devour youיֵאָכֵלוּshall be devouredוְכׇל־צָרַיִךְand all your adversariesכֻּלָּםevery one of themבַּשְּׁבִיinto captivityיֵלֵכוּshall goוְהָיוּthen they shall beשֹׁאסַיִךְthey that spoil youלִמְשִׁסָּהa spoilוְכׇל־בֹּזְזַיִךְand all that plunder youאֶתֵּןwill I giveלָבַז׃for a prey

    Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

    כִּיbecauseאַעֲלֶהI will restoreאֲרֻכָהhealthלָךְto youוּמִמַּכּוֹתַיִךְand from your woundsאֶרְפָּאֵךְI will heal youנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDכִּיbecauseנִדָּחָהan Outcastקָרְאוּthey calledלָךְto youצִיּוֹןZionהִיאit isדֹּרֵשׁfor whom caresאֵיןno oneלָהּ׃to her

    For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

  18. 18

    כֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDהִנְנִי־שָׁבbehold I will bring backשְׁבוּתthe captivity ofאׇהֳלֵיthe tents ofיַעֲקוֹבJacobוּמִשְׁכְּנֹתָיוand his dwellingplacesאֲרַחֵםhave mercy onוְנִבְנְתָהand shall be builtעִירthe cityעַל־תִּלָּהּupon her own telוְאַרְמוֹןand the palaceעַל־מִשְׁפָּטוֹon its proper placeיֵשֵׁב׃shall stand

    Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

  19. 19

    וְיָצָאand shall come forthמֵהֶםof themתּוֹדָהthanksgivingוְקוֹלand the voice ofמְשַׂחֲקִיםthem that make merryוְהִרְבִּתִיםand I will multiply themוְלֹאand notיִמְעָטוּshall they be diminishedוְהִכְבַּדְתִּיםI will also glorify themוְלֹאand notיִצְעָרוּ׃shall they be small

    And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

  20. 20

    וְהָיוּthen they shall beבָנָיוtheir childrenכְּקֶדֶםas beforeוַעֲדָתוֹand their congregationלְפָנַיbefore meתִּכּוֹןshall be establishedוּפָקַדְתִּיand I will punishעַלuponכׇּל־לֹחֲצָיו׃all that oppress them

    Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

  21. 21

    וְהָיָהand beאַדִּירוֹtheir princeמִמֶּנּוּshall be of themselvesוּמֹשְׁלוֹand their governorמִקִּרְבּוֹfrom the midst of themיֵצֵאshall proceedוְהִקְרַבְתִּיוand I will cause him to draw nearוְנִגַּשׁand he shall approachאֵלָיunto meכִּיforמִיwhoהוּא־זֶהit is thisעָרַבthat engagedאֶת־לִבּוֹhis heartלָגֶשֶׁתto approachאֵלַיto meנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃says the LORD

    And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

  22. 22

    וִהְיִיתֶםand you shall beלִיto meלְעָםpeopleוְאָנֹכִיand Iאֶהְיֶהwill beלָכֶםto youלֵאלֹהִים׃your God

    And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

  23. 23

    הִנֵּהbeholdסַעֲרַתthe storm wind ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDחֵמָהwith furyיָצְאָהgoes outסַעַרa stormמִתְגּוֹרֵרsweepingעַלuponרֹאשׁthe head ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedיָחוּל׃it shall fall with pain

    Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

  24. 24

    לֹאnotיָשׁוּבshall turn backחֲרוֹןfierceאַף־יְהֹוָהthe anger of the LORDעַד־עֲשֹׂתוֹuntil he has done itוְעַד־הֲקִימוֹand until he has performedמְזִמּוֹתthe intents ofלִבּוֹhis heartבְּאַחֲרִיתin the latterהַיָּמִיםthe daysתִּתְבּוֹנְנוּyou shall understandבָהּ׃in it

    The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
