   In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲמֹדa/MODstandבַּחֲצַרba/cha/TSARin the court ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוְדִבַּרְתָּve/dib/bar/TAand speakעַל־כׇּל־עָרֵיal-kol-a/REto all the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMwho comeלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTto worshipבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaiat the house of the LORDאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוִּיתִיךָtsiv/vi/TI/khaI commanded youלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַל־תִּגְרַעal-tig/RAdo not diminishדָּבָר׃da/VARa word

   Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:

   אוּלַיu/LAYperhapsיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey will listenוְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuand turnאִישׁisheachמִדַּרְכּוֹmid/dar/KOfrom his wayהָרָעָהha/ra/Aevilוְנִחַמְתִּיve/ni/cham/TIthat I may relentאֶל־הָרָעָהel-ha/ra/Aof the evilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIחֹשֵׁבcho/SHEVplanלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doלָהֶםla/HEMto themמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofרֹעַRO/athe evil ofמַעַלְלֵיהֶם׃ma/al/le/HEMtheir deeds

   If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

   And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

   לִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato listenעַל־דִּבְרֵיal-div/REto the words ofעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsהַנְּבִאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achsendאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youוְהַשְׁכֵּםve/hash/KEMrising earlyוְשָׁלֹחַve/sha/LO/achand sendingוְלֹאve/LObut notשְׁמַעְתֶּם׃she/ma/TEMhave you listened

   To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;

   וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIthen I will makeאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכְּשִׁלֹהke/Shi/LOlike Shilohוְאֶת־הָעִירve/ET-ha/IRand the city[הַזֹּאת]haz/ZOTthisאֶתֵּןet/TENI will makeלִקְלָלָהlik/la/LAa curseלְכֹלle/KHOLto allגּוֹיֵgo/YEthe nations ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

   וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand heardהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַנְּבִאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huJeremiahמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּכַלּוֹתke/khal/LOTwhen had finishedיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהet-kol-a/SHER-tsiv/VAall that had commandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֶל־כׇּל־הָעָםel-kol-ha/AMto all the peopleוַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUthen seizedאֹתוֹo/TOhimהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַנְּבִיאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמוֹתmotdieתָּמוּת׃ta/MUTyou will die

   Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.

   Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they heardשָׂרֵיsa/REthe princes ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֵת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUand they came upמִבֵּית־הַמֶּלֶךְmib/BET-ham/ME/lekhfrom the house of the kingבֵּיתbetto the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand satבְּפֶתַחbe/FE/tachat the entrance ofשַׁעַר־יְהֹוָהSHA/ar-Adonaithe gate of the LORDהֶחָדָשׁ׃he/cha/DASHnew

    When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַנְּבִאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsאֶל־הַשָּׂרִיםel-has/sa/RIMto the princesוְאֶל־כׇּל־הָעָםve/EL-kol-ha/AMand all the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמִשְׁפַּט־מָוֶתmish/PAT-MA/veta sentence of deathלָאִישׁla/ISHfor the manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkiforנִבָּאnib/BAhe has prophesiedאֶל־הָעִירel-ha/IRagainst the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou have heardבְּאׇזְנֵיכֶם׃be/oz/ne/KHEMin your ears

    Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahאֶל־כׇּל־הַשָּׂרִיםel-kol-has/sa/RIMto all the princesוְאֶל־כׇּל־הָעָםve/EL-kol-ha/AMand all the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDשְׁלָחַנִיshe/la/CHA/nisent meלְהִנָּבֵאle/hin/na/VEto prophesyאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yitagainst the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְאֶל־הָעִירve/EL-ha/IRand against the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשְׁמַעְתֶּם׃she/ma/TEMyou have heard

    Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהֵיטִיבוּhe/TI/vuamendדַרְכֵיכֶםdar/khe/KHEMyour waysוּמַעַלְלֵיכֶםu/ma/al/le/KHEMand your deedsוְשִׁמְעוּve/shim/Uand obeyבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוְיִנָּחֵםve/yin/na/CHEMand will relentיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־הָרָעָהel-ha/ra/Aof the evilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבֶּרdib/BERHe has pronouncedעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMagainst you

    Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold I amבְיֶדְכֶםve/yed/KHEMin your handעֲשׂוּ־לִיa/SU-lido to meכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas is goodוְכַיָּשָׁרve/khay/ya/SHARand rightבְּעֵינֵיכֶם׃be/e/ne/KHEMin your eyes

    As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.

    אַךְakhonlyיָדֹעַya/DO/aknowתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou shall knowכִּיkithatאִם־מְמִתִיםim-me/mi/TIMif put to deathאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאֹתִיo/TImeכִּי־דָםki-damthen bloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentאַתֶּםat/TEMyouנֹתְנִיםnot/NIMwill bringעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMon yourselvesוְאֶל־הָעִירve/EL-ha/IRand on the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאֶל־יֹשְׁבֶיהָve/EL-yosh/VE/haand on its inhabitantsכִּיkiforבֶאֱמֶתve/e/METin truthשְׁלָחַנִיshe/la/CHA/nisent meיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakבְּאׇזְנֵיכֶםbe/oz/ne/KHEMin your earsאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַשָּׂרִיםhas/sa/RIMthe princesוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleאֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִיםel-hak/ko/ha/NIMto the priestsוְאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִיםve/EL-han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsאֵין־לָאִישׁen-la/ISHthe man has noהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמִשְׁפַּט־מָוֶתmish/PAT-MA/vetsentence of deathכִּיkiforבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe has spokenאֵלֵינוּ׃e/LE/nuto us

    Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.

    וַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they rose upאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמִזִּקְנֵיmiz/zik/NEof the elders ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־כׇּל־קְהַלel-kol-ke/HALto all the assembly ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,

    (מיכיה)mayakhayah[מִיכָה]Mi/KHAMicahהַמּוֹרַשְׁתִּיham/Mo/rash/TIthe Morasthiteהָיָהha/YAwasנִבָּאnib/BAprophesyingבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofחִזְקִיָּהוּChiz/kiy/YA/huHezekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־כׇּל־עַםel-kol-amto all the people ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionשָׂדֶהsa/DEas a fieldתֵחָרֵשׁte/cha/RESHwill be plowedוִירוּשָׁלַיִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemעִיִּיםiy/YIMheaps of ruinsתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill becomeוְהַרve/HARand the mountain ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseלְבָמוֹתle/va/MOTas the high places ofיָעַר׃YA/arthe forest

    Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

    הֶהָמֵתhe/ha/METput to deathהֱמִתֻהוּhe/mi/tu/HUdid they put him to deathחִזְקִיָּהוּChiz/kiy/YA/huHezekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahהֲלֹאha/LOdid notיָרֵאya/REhe fearאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוַיְחַלvay/CHALand entreatאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEthe face ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּנָּחֶםvay/yin/NA/chemand relentedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־הָרָעָהel-ha/ra/Aof the evilאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERwhich He had pronouncedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nubut weעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingרָעָהra/Aevilגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatעַל־נַפְשׁוֹתֵינוּ׃al-naf/sho/TE/nuagainst ourselves

    Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.

    וְגַם־אִישׁve/GAM-ishand also a manהָיָהha/YAwasמִתְנַבֵּאmit/nab/BEprophesyingבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוּרִיָּהוּU/riy/YA/huUriahבֶּן־שְׁמַעְיָהוּben-She/ma/YA/huson of Shemaiahמִקִּרְיַתmik/Kir/YATof Kirjath-הַיְּעָרִיםhay/ye/a/RIMjearimוַיִּנָּבֵאvay/yin/na/VEand he prophesiedעַל־הָעִירal-ha/IRagainst the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְעַל־הָאָרֶץve/AL-ha/A/retsand against the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofיִרְמְיָהוּ׃Yir/me/YA/huJeremiah

    And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah:

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardהַמֶּלֶךְ־יְהוֹיָקִיםham/ME/lekh-ye/ho/ya/KIMthe king Jehoiakimוְכׇל־גִּבּוֹרָיוve/KHOL-gib/bo/RAYVwith all his mighty menוְכׇל־הַשָּׂרִיםve/KHOL-has/sa/RIMand all the princesאֶת־דְּבָרָיוet-de/va/RAYVhis wordsוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand soughtהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהֲמִיתוֹha/mi/TOto put him to deathוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAbut heardאוּרִיָּהוּU/riy/YA/huUriahוַיִּרָאvay/yi/RAand was afraidוַיִּבְרַחvay/yiv/RACHand he fledוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand went toמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHthen sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingיְהוֹיָקִיםYe/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakimאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimto Egyptאֵת־אֶלְנָתָןet-El/na/TANElnathanבֶּן־עַכְבּוֹרben-Akh/BORson of Achborוַאֲנָשִׁיםva/a/na/SHIMand menאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֶל־מִצְרָיִם׃el-Mits/RA/yimto Egypt

    And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.

    וַיּוֹצִיאוּvay/yo/TSI/uand they brought outאֶת־אוּרִיָּהוּet-U/riy/YA/huUriahמִמִּצְרַיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egyptוַיְבִאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand brought himאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingיְהוֹיָקִיםYe/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakimוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand he struck himבֶּחָרֶבbe/CHA/revby the swordוַיַּשְׁלֵךְvay/yash/LEKHand castאֶת־נִבְלָתוֹet-niv/la/TOhis dead bodyאֶל־קִבְרֵיel-kiv/REto the graves ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָעָם׃ha/AMpeople

    And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

    אַךְakhneverthelessיַדyadthe hand ofאֲחִיקָםA/chi/KAMAhikamבֶּן־שָׁפָןben-Sha/FANson of Shaphanהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasאֶת־יִרְמְיָהוּet-Yir/me/YA/huwith Jeremiahלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as notתֵּת־אֹתוֹtet-o/TOto give himבְיַד־הָעָםve/YAD-ha/AMinto the hand of the peopleלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃la/ha/mi/TOto put him to death

    Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
