    The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

    The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

    From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

    וְשָׁלַחve/sha/LACHand has sentיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאֶת־כׇּל־עֲבָדָיוet-kol-a/va/DAYVall his servantsהַנְּבִאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsהַשְׁכֵּםhash/KEMrising earlyוְשָׁלֹחַve/sha/LO/achand sending themוְלֹאve/LObut notשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMhave you listenedוְלֹא־הִטִּיתֶםve/LO-hit/ti/TEMnor inclinedאֶת־אׇזְנְכֶםet-oz/ne/KHEMyour earsלִשְׁמֹעַ׃lish/MO/ato hear

    And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשׁוּבוּ־נָאSHU/vu-naturn nowאִישׁisheachמִדַּרְכּוֹmid/dar/KOfrom his wayהָרָעָהha/ra/Aevilוּמֵרֹעַu/me/RO/aand from the evil ofמַעַלְלֵיכֶםma/al/le/KHEMyour deedsוּשְׁבוּu/she/VUand dwellעַל־הָאֲדָמָהal-ha/a/da/MAupon the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַןna/TANgaveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוְלַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםve/la/a/vo/te/KHEMand to your ancestorsלְמִן־עוֹלָםle/MIN-o/LAMfrom of oldוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃ve/AD-o/LAMeven forever

    They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

    וְאַל־תֵּלְכוּve/AL-tel/KHUand do not goאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsלְעׇבְדָםle/ov/DAMto serve themוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺתu/le/hish/ta/cha/VOTand to worshipלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלֹא־תַכְעִיסוּve/LO-takh/I/suand do not provokeאוֹתִיo/TImeבְּמַעֲשֵׂהbe/ma/a/SEwith the works ofיְדֵיכֶםye/de/KHEMyour handsוְלֹאve/LOand notאָרַעa/RAI will harmלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

    וְלֹא־שְׁמַעְתֶּםve/LO-she/ma/TEMyet you have not listenedאֵלַיe/LAYto meנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלְמַעַןle/MA/anso as to(הכעסוני)hakhsavanay[הַכְעִיסֵנִי]hakh/i/SE/niprovoke meבְּמַעֲשֵׂהbe/ma/a/SEby the work ofיְדֵיכֶםye/de/KHEMyour handsלְרַעle/RAto harmלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyourselves

    Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־שְׁמַעְתֶּםlo-she/ma/TEMyou have not obeyedאֶת־דְּבָרָי׃et-de/va/RAYmy words

    Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achwill sendוְלָקַחְתִּיve/la/kach/TIand I will takeאֶת־כׇּל־מִשְׁפְּחוֹתet-kol-mish/pe/CHOTall the families ofצָפוֹןtsa/FONthe northנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְאֶל־נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרve/EL-ne/vu/khad/re/TSARand to Nebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantוַהֲבִאֹתִיםva/ha/vi/o/TIMand I will bring themעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsagainst the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְעַל־יֹשְׁבֶיהָve/AL-yosh/VE/haand against its inhabitantsוְעַלve/ALand againstכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםkol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundוְהַחֲרַמְתִּיםve/ha/cha/ram/TIMand devote them to destructionוְשַׂמְתִּיםve/sam/TIMand I will make themלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa horrorוְלִשְׁרֵקָהve/lish/re/KAand a hissingוּלְחׇרְבוֹתu/le/chor/VOTand ruinsעוֹלָם׃o/LAMperpetual

    Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

    וְהַאֲבַדְתִּיve/ha/a/vad/TIand I will banishמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themקוֹלkolthe voice ofשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONmirthוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voice ofשִׂמְחָהsim/CHAgladnessקוֹלkolthe voice ofחָתָןcha/TANthe bridegroomוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voice ofכַּלָּהkal/LAthe brideקוֹלkolthe voice ofרֵחַיִםre/CHA/yimthe millstonesוְאוֹרve/ORand the light ofנֵר׃nerthe lamp

    Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

    וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand will beכׇּל־הָאָרֶץkol-ha/A/retsall the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלְחׇרְבָּהle/chor/BAa ruinלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa horrorוְעָבְדוּve/a/ve/DUand will serveהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֶת־מֶלֶךְet-ME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

    And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall come to passכִמְלֹאותkhim/LOTwhen are fulfilledשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsאֶפְקֹדef/KODI will punishעַל־מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלal-ME/lekh-ba/VELthe king of Babylonוְעַל־הַגּוֹיve/AL-hag/GOYand nationהַהוּאha/HUthatנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֶת־עֲוֺנָםet-a/vo/NAMtheir iniquityוְעַל־אֶרֶץve/AL-E/retsand the land ofכַּשְׂדִּיםkaS/DIMthe Chaldeansוְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TIand will makeאֹתוֹo/TOitלְשִׁמְמוֹתle/shim/MOTdesolationsעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeverlasting

    And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

    [וְהֵבֵאתִי]ve/he/ve/TIand I will bringעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the landהַהִיאha/HIthatאֶת־כׇּל־דְּבָרַיet-kol-de/va/RAYall my wordsאֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּרְתִּיa/SHER-dib/BAR/tithat I have pronouncedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst itאֵת־כׇּל־הַכָּתוּבet-kol-hak/ka/TUVall that is writtenבַּסֵּפֶרbas/SE/ferin the bookהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁר־נִבָּאa/SHER-nib/BAwhich has prophesiedיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahעַל־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם׃al-kol-hag/go/YIMagainst all the nations

    And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

    כִּיkiforעָבְדוּ־בָםa/ve/DU-vamwill make slaves of themגַּם־הֵמָּהgam-HEM/maeven themגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוּמְלָכִיםu/me/la/KHIMand kingsגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreatוְשִׁלַּמְתִּיve/shil/lam/TIand I will repayלָהֶםla/HEMthemכְּפׇעֳלָםke/fo/o/LAMaccording to their deedsוּכְמַעֲשֵׂהu/khe/ma/a/SEand according to the work ofיְדֵיהֶם׃ye/de/HEMtheir hands

    For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

    כִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֵלַיe/LAYto meקַחkachtakeאֶת־כּוֹסet-kosthe cup ofהַיַּיִןhay/YA/yinwineהַחֵמָהha/che/MAof furyהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisמִיָּדִיmiy/ya/DIfrom my handוְהִשְׁקִיתָהve/hish/ki/TAand make drinkאֹתוֹo/TOitאֶת־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםet-kol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achsendאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

    וְשָׁתוּve/sha/TUand they will drinkוְהִתְגֹּעֲשׁוּve/hit/go/a/SHUand staggerוְהִתְהֹלָלוּve/hit/ho/LA/luand go madמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהַחֶרֶבha/CHE/revthe swordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achwill sendבֵּינֹתָם׃be/no/TAMamong them

    And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

    וָאֶקַּחva/ek/KACHand I tookאֶת־הַכּוֹסet-hak/KOSthe cupמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוָאַשְׁקֶהva/ash/KEand made drinkאֶת־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםet-kol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsאֲשֶׁר־שְׁלָחַנִיa/SHER-she/la/CHA/nito whom sent meיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

    אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְאֶת־עָרֵיve/ET-a/REand the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־מְלָכֶיהָve/ET-me/la/KHE/haand its kingsאֶת־שָׂרֶיהָet-sa/RE/haits princesלָתֵתla/TETto makeאֹתָםo/TAMthemלְחׇרְבָּהle/chor/BAa ruinלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa horrorלִשְׁרֵקָהlish/re/KAa hissingוְלִקְלָלָהve/lik/la/LAand a curseכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMas the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

    אֶת־פַּרְעֹהet-Par/OPharaohמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִםME/lekh-Mits/RA/yimking of Egyptוְאֶת־עֲבָדָיוve/ET-a/va/DAYVand his servantsוְאֶת־שָׂרָיוve/ET-sa/RAYVand his princesוְאֶת־כׇּל־עַמּוֹ׃ve/ET-kol-am/MOand all his people

    Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הָעֶרֶבkol-ha/E/revall the mixed peopleוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofהָעוּץHa/UTSUzוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesוְאֶת־אַשְׁקְלוֹןve/ET-ash/ke/LONand Ashkelonוְאֶת־עַזָּהve/ET-az/ZAand Azzahוְאֶת־עֶקְרוֹןve/ET-ek/RONand Ekronוְאֵתve/ETandשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITthe remnant ofאַשְׁדּוֹד׃Ash/DODAshdod

    And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

    אֶת־אֱדוֹםet-E/DOMEdomוְאֶת־מוֹאָבve/ET-mo/AVand Moabוְאֶת־בְּנֵיve/ET-be/NEand the sons ofעַמּוֹן׃Am/MONAmmon

    Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵי־צֹרkol-Mal/KHE-tsorall the kings of Tyreוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofצִידוֹןTsi/DONZidonוְאֵתve/ETandמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofהָאִיha/Ithe coastlandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isבְּעֵבֶרbe/E/veron the other side ofהַיָּם׃hay/YAMthe sea

    And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

  23. 23

    וְאֶת־דְּדָןve/ET-de/DANand Dedanוְאֶת־תֵּימָאve/ET-te/MAand Temaוְאֶת־בּוּזve/ET-buzand Buzוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־קְצוּצֵיkol-ke/tsu/TSEall who cutפֵאָה׃fe/Athe corners

    Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofעֲרָבA/RAVArabiaוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofהָעֶרֶבha/E/revthe mixed peopleהַשֹּׁכְנִיםhash/shokh/NIMwho dwellבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the desert

    And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofזִמְרִיZim/RIZimriוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofעֵילָםE/LAMElamוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofמָדָי׃Ma/DAYMedia

    And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

  26. 26

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מַלְכֵיkol-mal/KHEall the kings ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northהַקְּרֹבִיםhak/ke/ro/VIMnearוְהָרְחֹקִיםve/ha/re/cho/KIMand farאִישׁishoneאֶל־אָחִיוel-a/CHIVwith anotherוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַמַּמְלְכוֹתkol-ham/mam/le/KHOTall the kingdoms ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe worldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe earthוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofשֵׁשַׁךְShe/SHAKHSheshachיִשְׁתֶּהyish/TEwill drinkאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃a/cha/re/HEMafter them

    And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelשְׁתוּshe/TUdrinkוְשִׁכְרוּve/shikh/RUand be drunkוּקְיוּu/ke/YUand vomitוְנִפְלוּve/nif/LUand fallוְלֹאve/LOand notתָקוּמוּta/KU/muriseמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהַחֶרֶבha/CHE/revthe swordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achwill sendבֵּינֵיכֶם׃be/ne/KHEMamong you

    Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkiifיְמָאֲנוּye/ma/a/NUthey refuseלָקַחַת־הַכּוֹסla/KA/chat-hak/KOSto take the cupמִיָּדְךָmiy/ya/de/KHAfrom your handלִשְׁתּוֹתlish/TOTto drinkוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsשָׁתוֹsha/TOdrinkתִשְׁתּוּ׃tish/TUyou shall drink

    And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

    For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

  30. 30

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youתִּנָּבֵאtin/na/VEprophesyאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִמָּרוֹםmim/ma/ROMfrom on highיִשְׁאָגyish/AGwill roarוּמִמְּעוֹןu/mim/me/ONand from the dwelling ofקׇדְשׁוֹkod/SHOHis holinessיִתֵּןyit/TENutterקוֹלוֹko/LOHis voiceשָׁאֹגsha/OGroarיִשְׁאַגyish/AGHe will roarעַל־נָוֵהוּal-na/VE/huagainst His foldהֵידָדhe/DADa shoutכְּדֹרְכִיםke/dor/KHIMlike those who tread grapesיַעֲנֶהya/a/NEHe will giveאֶלelagainstכׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיkol-yosh/VEall the inhabitants ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

  31. 31

    בָּאbahas comeשָׁאוֹןsha/ONa tumultעַד־קְצֵהad-ke/TSEto the ends ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthכִּיkiforרִיבriva controversyלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORD hasבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMwith the nationsנִשְׁפָּטnish/PATHe will enter into judgmentהוּאhuHeלְכׇל־בָּשָׂרle/KHOL-ba/SARwith all fleshהָרְשָׁעִיםha/re/sha/IMthe wickedנְתָנָםne/ta/NAMHe will give themלַחֶרֶבla/CHE/revto the swordנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

  32. 32

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdרָעָהra/Aevilיֹצֵאתyo/TSETgoes outמִגּוֹיmig/GOYfrom nationאֶל־גּוֹיel-goyto nationוְסַעַרve/SA/arand a stormגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatיֵעוֹרye/ORwill be stirred upמִיַּרְכְּתֵי־אָרֶץ׃miy/yar/ke/TE-A/retsfrom the remotest parts of the earth

    Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

  33. 33

    וְהָיוּve/ha/YUand will beחַלְלֵיchal/LEslain ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatמִקְצֵהmik/TSEfrom the end ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְעַד־קְצֵהve/AD-ke/TSEto the other end ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthלֹאlonotיִסָּפְדוּyis/sa/fe/DUbe lamentedוְלֹאve/LOnorיֵאָסְפוּye/a/se/FUgatheredוְלֹאve/LOnorיִקָּבֵרוּyik/ka/VE/ruthey will be buriedלְדֹמֶןle/DO/mendungעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe earthיִהְיוּ׃yih/YUthey will be

    And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

  34. 34

    הֵילִילוּhe/LI/luwailהָרֹעִיםha/ro/IMO shepherdsוְזַעֲקוּve/za/a/KUand cryוְהִתְפַּלְּשׁוּve/hit/pal/le/SHUand roll in the dustאַדִּירֵיad/di/REO masters ofהַצֹּאןhats/TSONthe flockכִּי־מָלְאוּki-ma/le/Ufor are fulfilledיְמֵיכֶםye/me/KHEMyour daysלִטְבוֹחַlit/VO/achfor slaughterוּתְפוֹצוֹתִיכֶםu/te/fo/tso/ti/KHEMand your dispersionsוּנְפַלְתֶּםu/ne/fal/TEMand you will fallכִּכְלִיkikh/LIlike a vessel ofחֶמְדָּה׃chem/DAdelight

    Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

  35. 35

    וְאָבַדve/a/VADand will perishמָנוֹסma/NOSflightמִן־הָרֹעִיםmin-ha/ro/IMfrom the shepherdsוּפְלֵיטָהu/fe/le/TAand escapeמֵאַדִּירֵיme/ad/di/REfrom the masters ofהַצֹּאן׃hats/TSONthe flock

    And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

  36. 36

    קוֹלkolthe sound ofצַעֲקַתtsa/a/KATthe cry ofהָרֹעִיםha/ro/IMthe shepherdsוִילְלַתvi/le/LATand the wailing ofאַדִּירֵיad/di/REthe masters ofהַצֹּאןhats/TSONthe flockכִּי־שֹׁדֵדki-sho/DEDfor is destroyingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מַרְעִיתָם׃et-mar/i/TAMtheir pasture

    A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

  37. 37

    וְנָדַמּוּve/na/DAM/muand are silencedנְאוֹתne/OTthe pastures ofהַשָּׁלוֹםhash/sha/LOMpeaceמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe fierceאַף־יְהֹוָה׃af-Adonaithe anger of the LORD

    And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

  38. 38

    עָזַבa/ZAVHe has leftכַּכְּפִירkak/ke/FIRlike the young lionסֻכּוֹsuk/KOHis lairכִּי־הָיְתָהki-ha/ye/TAfor has becomeאַרְצָםar/TSAMtheir own landלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa horrorמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe fierceness ofהַיּוֹנָהhay/yo/NAthe oppressorוּמִפְּנֵיu/mip/pe/NEand because ofחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe fierceness ofאַפּוֹ׃ap/POHis anger

    He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
