   The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

   One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meמָה־אַתָּהma-at/TAwhat do youרֹאֶהro/EseeיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahוָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidתְּאֵנִיםte/e/NIMfigsהַתְּאֵנִיםhat/te/e/NIMthe figsהַטֹּבוֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodטֹבוֹתto/VOTgoodמְאֹדme/ODveryוְהָרָעוֹתve/ha/ra/OTand the badרָעוֹתra/OTbadמְאֹדme/ODveryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־תֵאָכַלְנָהlo-te/a/KHAL/nacannot be eatenמֵרֹעַ׃me/RO/afor badness

   Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכַּתְּאֵנִיםkat/te/e/NIMlike the figsהַטֹּבוֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכֵּן־אַכִּירken-ak/KIRso will I regardאֶת־גָּלוּתet-ga/LUTthe exiles ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomשִׁלַּחְתִּיshil/LACH/tiI have sentמִן־הַמָּקוֹםmin-ham/ma/KOMfrom the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶרֶץE/retsto the land ofכַּשְׂדִּיםkaS/DIMthe Chaldeansלְטוֹבָה׃le/to/VAfor good

   Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

   וְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TIfor I will setעֵינִיe/NImy eyeעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodוַהֲשִׁבֹתִיםva/ha/shi/vo/TIMand I will bring them backעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsto the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּבְנִיתִיםu/ve/ni/TIMand I will build themוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶהֱרֹסe/he/ROStear them downוּנְטַעְתִּיםu/ne/ta/TIMand plant themוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶתּוֹשׁ׃et/TOSHpluck them up

   For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

   וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will giveלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֵבleva heartלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowאֹתִיo/TImeכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְהָיוּ־לִיve/ha/YU-liand they will be to meלְעָםle/AMa peopleוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iאֶהְיֶהeh/YEwill beלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMGodכִּי־יָשֻׁבוּki-ya/SHU/vufor they will returnאֵלַיe/LAYto meבְּכׇל־לִבָּם׃be/KHOL-lib/BAMwith their whole heart

   And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

   וְכַתְּאֵנִיםve/khat/te/e/NIMand like the figsהָרָעוֹתha/ra/OTthe badאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־תֵאָכַלְנָהlo-te/a/KHAL/nacannot be eatenמֵרֹעַme/RO/afor badnessכִּי־כֹהki-khosurely thusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכֵּןkensoאֶתֵּןet/TENwill I give upאֶת־צִדְקִיָּהוּet-Tsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahוְאֶת־שָׂרָיוve/ET-sa/RAYVand his princesוְאֵתve/ETandשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITthe residue ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho remainבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְהַיֹּשְׁבִיםve/hay/yosh/VIMand those who dwellבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

   And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

   וּנְתַתִּיםu/ne/tat/TIMand I will give them(לזועה)lazavh[לְזַעֲוָה]le/za/a/VAa horrorלְרָעָהle/ra/Aan evilלְכֹלle/KHOLto allמַמְלְכוֹתmam/le/KHOTthe kingdoms ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthלְחֶרְפָּהle/cher/PAa reproachוּלְמָשָׁלu/le/ma/SHALand a bywordלִשְׁנִינָהlish/ni/NAa tauntוְלִקְלָלָהve/lik/la/LAand a curseבְּכׇל־הַמְּקֹמוֹתbe/KHOL-ham/me/ko/MOTin all the placesאֲשֶׁר־אַדִּיחֵםa/SHER-ad/di/CHEMwhere I will drive themשָׁם׃shamthere

   And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

    וְשִׁלַּחְתִּיve/shil/lach/TIand I will sendבָםvamamong themאֶת־הַחֶרֶבet-ha/CHE/revthe swordאֶת־הָרָעָבet-ha/ra/AVthe famineוְאֶת־הַדָּבֶרve/ET-had/DA/verand the pestilenceעַד־תֻּמָּםad-tum/MAMtill they are consumedמֵעַלme/ALfromהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתִּיa/SHER-na/TAT/tiwhich I gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלַאֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃ve/la/a/vo/te/HEMand to their fathers

    And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
