   Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

   וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayשְׁמַעshe/MAhearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDמֶלֶךְME/lekhO king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהַיֹּשֵׁבhay/yo/SHEVwho sitsעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEupon the throne ofדָוִדDa/VIDDavidאַתָּהat/TAyouוַעֲבָדֶיךָva/a/va/DE/khaand your servantsוְעַמְּךָve/am/me/KHAand your peopleהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMwho enterבַּשְּׁעָרִיםbash/she/a/RIMby the gatesהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

   And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲשׂוּa/SUexecuteמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeוּצְדָקָהu/tse/da/KAand righteousnessוְהַצִּילוּve/hats/TSI/luand deliverגָזוּלga/ZULhim who is robbedמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofעָשׁוֹקa/SHOKthe oppressorוְגֵרve/GERand the strangerיָתוֹםya/TOMthe fatherlessוְאַלְמָנָהve/al/ma/NAand a widowאַל־תֹּנוּal-to/NUdo not mistreatאַל־תַּחְמֹסוּal-tach/MO/sudo no violenceוְדָםve/DAMand bloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentאַל־תִּשְׁפְּכוּal-tish/pe/KHUdo not shedבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

   כִּיkiforאִם־עָשׂוֹim-a/SOif doתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou doאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוּבָאוּu/VA/uthen will enterבְשַׁעֲרֵיve/sha/a/REthrough the gates ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMwho sitלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDfor Davidעַל־כִּסְאוֹal-kis/Oupon his throneרֹכְבִיםrokh/VIMridingבָּרֶכֶבba/RE/khevin chariotsוּבַסּוּסִיםu/vas/su/SIMand on the horsesהוּאhuheוַעֲבָדָוva/a/va/DAVand his servantsוְעַמּוֹ׃ve/am/MOand his people

   For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

   וְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotתִשְׁמְעוּtish/me/Uyou obeyאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבִּיbiby myselfנִשְׁבַּעְתִּיnish/BA/tiI have swornנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDכִּי־לְחׇרְבָּהki-le/chor/BAthat a ruinיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill becomeהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

6. 6

   כִּי־כֹהki-khofor thusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־בֵּיתal-betconcerning the house ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahגִּלְעָדGil/ADGilead areאַתָּהat/TAyouלִיlito meרֹאשׁroshthe summit ofהַלְּבָנוֹןHal/le/va/NONLebanonאִם־לֹאim-loyet surelyאֲשִׁיתְךָa/shi/te/KHAI will make youמִדְבָּרmid/BARa wildernessעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesלֹאlonot(נושבה)navashavah[נוֹשָׁבוּ]׃no/SHA/vuinhabited

   For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

   וְקִדַּשְׁתִּיve/kid/dash/TIand I will prepareעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaagainst youמַשְׁחִתִיםmash/chi/TIMdestroyersאִישׁisheachוְכֵלָיוve/khe/LAYVwith his weaponsוְכָרְתוּve/kha/re/TUand they will cut downמִבְחַרmiv/CHARthe choicest ofאֲרָזֶיךָa/ra/ZE/khayour cedarsוְהִפִּילוּve/hip/PI/luand throw themעַל־הָאֵשׁ׃al-ha/ESHupon the fire

   And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

   וְעָבְרוּve/a/ve/RUand will passגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyעַלalbyהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand will sayאִישׁishevery manאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborעַל־מֶהal-mewhyעָשָׂהa/SAhas doneיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכָּכָהKA/khathusלָעִירla/IRto the cityהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

   And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?

9. 9

   וְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand they will sayעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָזְבוּa/ze/VUthey have forsakenאֶת־בְּרִיתet-be/RITthe covenant ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּvay/yish/ta/cha/VUand worshipedלֵאלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםle/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMto other godsוַיַּעַבְדוּם׃vay/ya/av/DUMand they served them

   Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.

10. 10

    אַל־תִּבְכּוּal-tiv/KUdo not weepלְמֵתle/METfor the deadוְאַל־תָּנֻדוּve/AL-ta/NU/dunor grieveלוֹlofor himבְּכוּbe/KHUweepבָכוֹva/KHOweepלַהֹלֵךְla/ho/LEKHfor him who goes awayכִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבya/SHUVwill he returnעוֹדodagainוְרָאָהve/ra/Aor seeאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofמוֹלַדְתּוֹ׃mo/lad/TOhis birth

    Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

    כִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַר־יְהֹוָהa/MAR-Adonaisays the LORDאֶל־שַׁלֻּםel-Shal/LUMconcerning Shallumבֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּהוּben-Yo/shiy/YA/huson of JosiahמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהַמֹּלֵךְham/mo/LEKHwho reignedתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָצָאya/TSAwent outמִן־הַמָּקוֹםmin-ham/ma/KOMfrom the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלֹא־יָשׁוּבlo-ya/SHUVhe will not returnשָׁםshamthereעוֹד׃odagain

    For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:

12. 12

    כִּיkibutבִּמְקוֹםbim/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־הִגְלוּa/SHER-hig/LUwhere they have led captiveאֹתוֹo/TOhimשָׁםshamthereיָמוּתya/MUThe will dieוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלֹא־יִרְאֶהlo-yir/Ehe will not seeעוֹד׃odagain

    But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.

13. 13

    הוֹיhoywoe toבֹּנֶהbo/NEhim who buildsבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseבְּלֹא־צֶדֶקbe/LO-TSE/dekwithout righteousnessוַעֲלִיּוֹתָיוva/a/liy/yo/TAYVand his upper roomsבְּלֹאbe/LOwithoutמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeבְּרֵעֵהוּbe/re/E/huhis neighborיַעֲבֹדya/a/VODwho makes serveחִנָּםchin/NAMfor nothingוּפֹעֲלוֹu/fo/a/LOand his wagesלֹאlonotיִתֶּן־לוֹ׃yit/TEN-lodoes give him

    Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;

14. 14

    הָאֹמֵרha/o/MERwho saysאֶבְנֶה־לִּיev/NE-liI will build myselfבֵּיתbeta houseמִדּוֹתmid/DOTspaciousוַעֲלִיּוֹתva/a/liy/YOTand upper roomsמְרֻוָּחִיםme/ruv/va/CHIMairyוְקָרַעve/ka/RAand cuts outלוֹlofor himselfחַלּוֹנָיchal/lo/NAYwindowsוְסָפוּןve/sa/FUNpaneling itבָּאָרֶזba/A/rezwith cedarוּמָשׁוֹחַu/ma/SHO/achand painting itבַּשָּׁשַׁר׃bash/sha/SHARwith vermilion

    That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

15. 15

    הֲתִמְלֹךְha/tim/LOKHwill you reignכִּיkibecauseאַתָּהat/TAyouמְתַחֲרֶהme/ta/cha/REcompeteבָאָרֶזva/A/rezin cedarאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherהֲלוֹאha/LOdid notאָכַלa/KHALeatוְשָׁתָהve/sha/TAand drinkוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand doמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeוּצְדָקָהu/tse/da/KAand righteousnessאָזazthenטוֹבtovit was wellלוֹ׃lowith him

    Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?

16. 16

    דָּןdanhe judgedדִּין־עָנִיdin-a/NIthe cause of the poorוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand the needyאָזazthenטוֹבtovit was wellהֲלוֹא־הִיאha/LO-hiwas not thisהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atknowingאֹתִיo/TImeנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD.

17. 17

    כִּיkibutאֵיןenare notעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesוְלִבְּךָve/lib/be/KHAand your heartכִּיkiexceptאִם־עַל־בִּצְעֶךָim-al-bits/E/khaon your gainוְעַלve/ALand onדַּם־הַנָּקִיdam-han/na/KIinnocent bloodלִשְׁפּוֹךְlish/POKHto shedוְעַל־הָעֹשֶׁקve/AL-ha/O/shekand on oppressionוְעַל־הַמְּרוּצָהve/AL-ham/me/ru/TSAand on extortionלַעֲשׂוֹת׃la/a/SOTto do

    But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

18. 18

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־יְהוֹיָקִיםel-Ye/ho/ya/KIMto Jehoiakimבֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּהוּben-Yo/shiy/YA/huson of JosiahמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלֹא־יִסְפְּדוּlo-yis/pe/DUthey will not lamentלוֹlofor himהוֹיhoyalasאָחִיa/CHImy brotherוְהוֹיve/HOYor alasאָחוֹתa/CHOTsisterלֹא־יִסְפְּדוּlo-yis/pe/DUthey will not lamentלוֹlofor himהוֹיhoyalasאָדוֹןa/DONlordוְהוֹיve/HOYor alasהֹדֹה׃ho/DOhis majesty

    Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

19. 19

    קְבוּרַתke/vu/RATwith the burial ofחֲמוֹרcha/MORa donkeyיִקָּבֵרyik/ka/VERhe will be buriedסָחוֹבsa/CHOVdraggedוְהַשְׁלֵךְve/hash/LEKHand cast outמֵהָלְאָהme/HAL/abeyondלְשַׁעֲרֵיle/sha/a/REthe gates ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

    עֲלִיa/LIgo upהַלְּבָנוֹןHal/le/va/NONLebanonוּצְעָקִיu/tse/A/kiand cry outוּבַבָּשָׁןu/Vab/ba/SHANand in Bashanתְּנִיte/NIlift upקוֹלֵךְko/LEKHyour voiceוְצַעֲקִיve/tsa/a/KIand cry outמֵעֲבָרִיםme/A/va/RIMfrom Abarimכִּיkiforנִשְׁבְּרוּnish/be/RUare brokenכׇּל־מְאַהֲבָיִךְ׃kol-me/a/ha/VA/yikhall your lovers

    Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.

21. 21

    דִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have spokenאֵלַיִךְe/LA/yikhto youבְּשַׁלְוֺתַיִךְbe/shal/vo/TA/yikhin your prosperityאָמַרְתְּa/MARTbut you saidלֹאlonotאֶשְׁמָעesh/MAI will listenזֶהzethis has beenדַרְכֵּךְdar/KEKHyour wayמִנְּעוּרַיִךְmin/ne/u/RA/yikhfrom your youthכִּיkithatלֹא־שָׁמַעַתְּlo-sha/MA/attyou did not obeyבְּקוֹלִי׃be/ko/LImy voice

    I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.

22. 22

    כׇּל־רֹעַיִךְkol-ro/A/yikhall your shepherdsתִּרְעֶה־רוּחַtir/E-RU/achthe wind will shepherdוּמְאַהֲבַיִךְu/me/a/ha/VA/yikhand your loversבַּשְּׁבִיbash/she/VIinto captivityיֵלֵכוּye/LE/khuwill goכִּיkisurelyאָזazthenתֵּבֹשִׁיte/VO/shiyou will be ashamedוְנִכְלַמְתְּve/nikh/LAMTand humiliatedמִכֹּלmik/KOLfor allרָעָתֵךְ׃ra/a/TEKHyour wickedness

    The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

    (ישבתי)yashavatay[יֹשַׁבְתְּ]yo/SHAVTO you who dwell inבַּלְּבָנוֹןBal/le/va/NONLebanon[מְקֻנַּנְתְּ]me/kun/NANTwho nestבָּאֲרָזִיםba/a/ra/ZIMin the cedarsמַה־נֵּחַנְתְּma-ne/CHANThow you will groanבְּבֹא־לָךְbe/VO-lakhwhen come on youחֲבָלִיםcha/va/LIMpangsחִילchilpainכַּיֹּלֵדָה׃kay/yo/le/DAas of a woman in labor

    O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!

24. 24

    חַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDכִּיkithoughאִם־יִהְיֶהim-yih/YEwereכׇּנְיָהוּKon/YA/huConiahבֶן־יְהוֹיָקִיםven-Ye/ho/ya/KIMson of JehoiakimמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahחוֹתָםcho/TAMa signetעַל־יַדal-yadon the hand ofיְמִינִיye/mi/NImy rightכִּיkiyetמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶתְּקֶנְךָּ׃et/te/KEN/kaI would pull you off

    As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;

25. 25

    וּנְתַתִּיךָu/ne/tat/TI/khaand I will give youבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofמְבַקְשֵׁיme/vak/SHEthose who seekנַפְשֶׁךָnaf/SHE/khayour lifeוּבְיַדu/ve/YADand into the hand ofאֲשֶׁר־אַתָּהa/SHER-at/TAof whom you areיָגוֹרya/GORafraidמִפְּנֵיהֶםmip/pe/ne/HEMof themוּבְיַדu/ve/YADand into the hand ofנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/re/TSARNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonוּבְיַדu/ve/YADand into the hand ofהַכַּשְׂדִּים׃hak/Kas/DIMthe Chaldeans

    And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26. 26

    וְהֵטַלְתִּיve/he/tal/TIand I will hurlאֹתְךָot/KHAyouוְאֶת־אִמְּךָve/ET-im/me/KHAand your motherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיְלָדַתְךָye/la/DAT/khabore youעַלalintoהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereלֹא־יֻלַּדְתֶּםlo-yul/lad/TEMyou were not bornשָׁםshamthereוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereתָּמוּתוּ׃ta/MU/tuyou will die

    And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.

27. 27

    וְעַל־הָאָרֶץve/AL-ha/A/retsbut to the landאֲשֶׁר־הֵםa/SHER-hemto which theyמְנַשְּׂאִיםme/nas/se/IMlift upאֶת־נַפְשָׁםet-naf/SHAMtheir soulלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto returnשָׁםshamthereשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vuwill they return

    But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.

28. 28

    הַעֶצֶבha/E/tsevis a vesselנִבְזֶהniv/ZEdespisedנָפוּץna/FUTSbrokenהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכׇּנְיָהוּKon/YA/huConiahאִם־כְּלִיim-ke/LIa vesselאֵיןennoחֵפֶץCHE/fetspleasureבּוֹboin itמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyהוּטְלוּhut/LUare they hurled outהוּאhuheוְזַרְעוֹve/zar/Oand his seedוְהֻשְׁלְכוּve/hush/le/KHUand castעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsinto the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יָדָעוּ׃lo-ya/DA/uthey do not know

    Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

29. 29

    אֶרֶץE/retsO landאֶרֶץE/retsO landאָרֶץA/retsO landשִׁמְעִיshim/Ihearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָה׃de/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORD

    O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

30. 30

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכִּתְבוּkit/VUwriteאֶת־הָאִישׁet-ha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעֲרִירִיa/ri/RIchildlessגֶּבֶרGE/vera manלֹא־יִצְלַחlo-yits/LACHwho will not prosperבְּיָמָיוbe/ya/MAYVin his daysכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיִצְלַחyits/LACHwill prosperמִזַּרְעוֹmiz/zar/Ofrom his seedאִישׁisha manיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEupon the throne ofדָוִדDa/VIDDavidוּמֹשֵׁלu/mo/SHELand rulingעוֹדodagainבִּיהוּדָה׃bI/hu/DAin Judah

    Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
