   The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

   דְּרׇשׁ־נָאde/ROSH-nainquire nowבַעֲדֵנוּva/a/DE/nufor usאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDכִּיkiforנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/re/TSARNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonנִלְחָםnil/CHAMis making warעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usאוּלַיu/LAYperhapsיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEwill dealיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusכְּכׇל־נִפְלְאֹתָיוke/KHOL-nif/le/o/TAYVaccording to all His wondersוְיַעֲלֶהve/ya/a/LEthat he may go upמֵעָלֵינוּ׃me/a/LE/nufrom us

   Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusתֹאמְרֻןto/me/RUNyou shall sayאֶל־צִדְקִיָּהוּ׃el-Tsid/kiy/YA/huto Zedekiah

   Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:

   כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמֵסֵבme/SEVwill turn backאֶת־כְּלֵיet-ke/LEthe weapons ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areבְּיֶדְכֶםbe/yed/KHEMin your handsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areנִלְחָמִיםnil/cha/MIMfightingבָּםbamwith themאֶת־מֶלֶךְet-ME/lekhagainst the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְאֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםve/ET-hak/kas/DIMand the Chaldeansהַצָּרִיםhats/tsa/RIMwho besiegeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyouמִחוּץmi/CHUTSoutsideלַחוֹמָהla/cho/MAthe wallוְאָסַפְתִּיve/a/saf/TIand I will assembleאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhinto the midst ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

   Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

   וְנִלְחַמְתִּיve/nil/CHAM/tiand I will fightאֲנִיa/NII myselfאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youבְּיָדbe/YADwith a handנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAoutstretchedוּבִזְרוֹעַu/viz/RO/aand with an armחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAstrongוּבְאַףu/ve/AFand in angerוּבְחֵמָהu/ve/che/MAand in furyוּבְקֶצֶףu/ve/KE/tsefand in wrathגָּדוֹל׃ga/DOLgreat

   And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

   וְהִכֵּיתִיve/hik/ke/TIand I will strikeאֶת־יוֹשְׁבֵיet-yosh/VEthe inhabitants ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאֶת־הָאָדָםve/ET-ha/a/DAMboth manוְאֶת־הַבְּהֵמָהve/ET-hab/be/he/MAand beastבְּדֶבֶרbe/DE/verby a pestilenceגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatיָמֻתוּ׃ya/MU/tuthey will die

   And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.

   וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand afterwardנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֶתֵּןet/TENI will deliverאֶת־צִדְקִיָּהוּet-Tsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAking of Judahוְאֶת־עֲבָדָיוve/ET-a/va/DAYVand his servantsוְאֶת־הָעָםve/ET-ha/AMand the peopleוְאֶת־הַנִּשְׁאָרִיםve/ET-han/nish/a/RIMand those who are leftבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisמִן־הַדֶּבֶרmin-had/DE/verfrom the pestilenceמִן־הַחֶרֶבmin-ha/CHE/revfrom the swordוּמִן־הָרָעָבu/MIN-ha/ra/AVand from the famineבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/re/TSARNebuchadrezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELking of Babylonוּבְיַדu/ve/YADand into the hand ofאֹיְבֵיהֶםoy/ve/HEMtheir enemiesוּבְיַדu/ve/YADand into the hand ofמְבַקְשֵׁיme/vak/SHEthose who seekנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir lifeוְהִכָּםve/hik/KAMand he will strike themלְפִי־חֶרֶבle/FI-CHE/revby the edge of the swordלֹא־יָחוּסlo-ya/CHUShe will not spareעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוְלֹאve/LOnorיַחְמֹלyach/MOLpityוְלֹאve/LOnorיְרַחֵם׃ye/ra/CHEMhave compassion

   And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

   וְאֶל־הָעָםve/EL-ha/AMand to the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisתֹּאמַרto/MARyou shall sayכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iנֹתֵןno/TENsetלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youאֶת־דֶּרֶךְet-DE/rekhthe way ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeוְאֶת־דֶּרֶךְve/ET-DE/rekhand the way ofהַמָּוֶת׃ham/MA/vetdeath

   And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

   הַיֹּשֵׁבhay/yo/SHEVhe who staysבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisיָמוּתya/MUTwill dieבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revby the swordוּבָרָעָבu/va/ra/AVand by famineוּבַדָּבֶרu/vad/DA/verand by the pestilenceוְהַיּוֹצֵאve/hay/yo/TSEbut he who goes outוְנָפַלve/na/FALand falls awayעַל־הַכַּשְׂדִּיםal-Hak/kas/DIMto the Chaldeansהַצָּרִיםhats/tsa/RIMwho besiegeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyou(יחיה)yachayah[וְחָיָה]ve/cha/YAand he will liveוְהָיְתָה־לּוֹve/ha/ye/TA-loand will be to himנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeלְשָׁלָל׃le/sha/LALas a prize

   He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

    כִּיkiforשַׂמְתִּיSAM/tiI have setפָנַיfa/NAYmy faceבָּעִירba/IRagainst the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלְרָעָהle/ra/Afor evilוְלֹאve/LOand notלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDבְּיַד־מֶלֶךְbe/YAD-ME/lekhinto the hand of the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonתִּנָּתֵןtin/na/TENit will be givenוּשְׂרָפָהּu/se/ra/FAand he will burn itבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHby fire

    For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

    וּלְבֵיתu/le/VETand to the house ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָה׃de/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORD

    And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

    בֵּיתbetO house ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדִּינוּDI/nuexecuteלַבֹּקֶרlab/BO/kerin the morningמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeוְהַצִּילוּve/hats/TSI/luand deliverגָזוּלga/ZULhim who is robbedמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofעוֹשֵׁקo/SHEKthe oppressorפֶּן־תֵּצֵאpen-te/TSElest go outכָאֵשׁkha/ESHlike fireחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyוּבָעֲרָהu/va/a/RAand burnוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמְכַבֶּהme/khab/BEone to quench itמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofרֹעַRO/athe evil of(מעלליהם)mlalayaham[מַעַלְלֵיכֶם]׃ma/al/le/KHEMyour deeds

    O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iאֵלַיִךְe/LA/yikhagainst youיֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofהָעֵמֶקha/E/mekthe valleyצוּרtsurO rock ofהַמִּישֹׁרham/mi/SHORthe plainנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwho sayמִי־יֵחַתmi-ye/CHATwho will come downעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוּמִיu/MIand whoיָבוֹאya/VOwill enterבִּמְעוֹנוֹתֵינוּ׃bim/o/no/TE/nuinto our habitations

    Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

14. 14

    וּפָקַדְתִּיu/fa/kad/TIbut I will punishעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyouכִּפְרִיkif/RIaccording to the fruit ofמַעַלְלֵיכֶםma/al/le/KHEMyour deedsנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְהִצַּתִּיve/hits/TSAT/tiand I will kindleאֵשׁeshfireבְּיַעְרָהּbe/ya/RAin her forestוְאׇכְלָהve/okh/LAand it will devourכׇּל־סְבִיבֶיהָ׃kol-se/vi/VE/haall around her

    But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
