   The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

   Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.

   הֲרָרִיha/ra/RIO my mountainבַּשָּׂדֶהbas/sa/DEin the fieldחֵילְךָche/le/KHAyour wealthכׇל־אוֹצְרוֹתֶיךָkhol-ots/ro/TE/khaall your treasuresלָבַזla/VAZas plunderאֶתֵּןet/TENI will giveבָּמֹתֶיךָba/mo/TE/khaand your high placesבְּחַטָּאתbe/chat/TATfor sinבְּכׇל־גְּבוּלֶיךָ׃be/KHOL-ge/vu/LE/khathroughout all your territory

   O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.

   וְשָׁמַטְתָּהve/sha/mat/TAand you will let goוּבְךָu/ve/KHAeven by yourselfמִנַּחֲלָתְךָmin/na/cha/la/te/KHAfrom your inheritanceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָךְlakhyouוְהַעֲבַדְתִּיךָve/ha/a/vad/TI/khaand I will make you serveאֶת־אֹיְבֶיךָet-oy/VE/khayour enemiesבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יָדָעְתָּlo-ya/DA/tayou have not knownכִּי־אֵשׁki-eshfor a fireקְדַחְתֶּםke/dach/TEMyou have kindledבְּאַפִּיbe/ap/PIin my angerעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverתּוּקָד׃tu/KADit will burn

   And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

   Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAfor he will beכְּעַרְעָרke/ar/ARlike a shrubבָּעֲרָבָהba/a/ra/VAin the desertוְלֹאve/LOand notיִרְאֶהyir/Eseeכִּי־יָבוֹאki-ya/VOwhen comesטוֹבtovgoodוְשָׁכַןve/sha/KHANbut will dwell inחֲרֵרִיםcha/re/RIMthe parched placesבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessאֶרֶץE/retsa landמְלֵחָהme/le/CHAsaltוְלֹאve/LOnotתֵשֵׁב׃te/SHEVinhabited

   For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

   בָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessed isהַגֶּבֶרhag/GE/verthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִבְטַחyiv/TACHtrustsבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand isיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִבְטַחוֹ׃miv/ta/CHOhis trust

   Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAfor he will beכְּעֵץke/ETSlike a treeשָׁתוּלsha/TULplantedעַל־מַיִםal-MA/yimby the watersוְעַל־יוּבַלve/AL-yu/VALand by the streamיְשַׁלַּחye/shal/LACHsends outשׇׁרָשָׁיוsho/ra/SHAYVits rootsוְלֹאve/LOand not(ירא)yar[יִרְאֶה]yir/Eseeכִּי־יָבֹאki-ya/VOwhen comesחֹםchomheatוְהָיָהve/ha/YAbut will beעָלֵהוּa/LE/huits leafרַעֲנָןra/a/NANgreenוּבִשְׁנַתu/vish/NATand in the year ofבַּצֹּרֶתbats/TSO/retthe droughtלֹאlonotיִדְאָגyid/AGwill be anxiousוְלֹאve/LOnorיָמִישׁya/MISHceaseמֵעֲשׂוֹתme/a/SOTfrom yieldingפְּרִי׃pe/RIfruit

   For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

   עָקֹבa/KOVdeceitfulהַלֵּבhal/LEVis the heartמִכֹּלmik/KOLabove all thingsוְאָנֻשׁve/a/NUSHand desperately sickהוּאhuit isמִיmiwhoיֵדָעֶנּוּ׃ye/da/EN/nucan know it

   The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    אֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDחֹקֵרcho/KERsearchלֵבlevthe heartבֹּחֵןbo/CHENI testכְּלָיוֹתke/la/YOTthe kidneysוְלָתֵתve/la/TETto giveלְאִישׁle/ISHto eachכִּדְרָכָוkid/ra/KHAVaccording to his waysכִּפְרִיkif/RIaccording to the fruit ofמַעֲלָלָיו׃ma/a/la/LAYVhis deeds

    I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

    קֹרֵאko/RElike a partridgeדָגַרda/GARthat gathersוְלֹאve/LOwhat notיָלָדya/LADit laidעֹשֶׂהo/SEis he who getsעֹשֶׁרO/sherrichesוְלֹאve/LObut notבְמִשְׁפָּטve/mish/PATby justiceבַּחֲצִיba/cha/TSIin the midst ofיָמָוya/MAVhis daysיַעַזְבֶנּוּya/az/VEN/nuit will leave himוּבְאַחֲרִיתוֹu/ve/a/cha/ri/TOand at his endיִהְיֶהyih/YEhe will beנָבָל׃na/VALa fool

    As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

    כִּסֵּאkis/SEa throne ofכָבוֹדkha/VODgloryמָרוֹםma/ROMon highמֵרִאשׁוֹןme/ri/SHONfrom the beginningמְקוֹםme/KOMis the place ofמִקְדָּשֵׁנוּ׃mik/da/SHE/nuour sanctuary

    A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

13. 13

    מִקְוֵהMik/VEO Hope ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDכׇּל־עֹזְבֶיךָkol-oz/VE/khaall who forsake Youיֵבֹשׁוּye/VO/shuwill be ashamed(יסורי)yasavaray[וְסוּרַי]ve/su/RAYand those who turn from meבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthיִכָּתֵבוּyik/ka/TE/vuwill be writtenכִּיkibecauseעָזְבוּa/ze/VUthey have forsakenמְקוֹרme/KORthe fountain ofמַיִם־חַיִּיםMA/yim-chay/YIMliving watersאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

    רְפָאֵנִיre/fa/E/niheal meיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDוְאֵרָפֵאve/e/ra/FEand I will be healedהוֹשִׁיעֵנִיho/shi/E/nisave meוְאִוָּשֵׁעָהve/iv/va/SHE/aand I will be savedכִּיkiforתְהִלָּתִיte/hil/la/TImy praiseאָתָּה׃AT/taare You

    Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

15. 15

    הִנֵּה־הֵמָּהhin/NE-HEM/mabehold theyאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayאֵלָיe/LAYto meאַיֵּהay/YEwhere isדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDיָבוֹאya/VOlet it comeנָא׃nanow

    Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.

16. 16

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iלֹא־אַצְתִּיlo-ATS/tiI have not hurried awayמֵרֹעֶהme/ro/Efrom being a shepherdאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youוְיוֹםve/YOMand the dayאָנוּשׁa/NUSHof disasterלֹאlonotהִתְאַוֵּיתִיhit/av/VE/tiI have desiredאַתָּהat/TAYouיָדָעְתָּya/DA/taYou knowמוֹצָאmo/TSAwhat came out ofשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsנֹכַחNO/khachbeforeפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khaYour faceהָיָה׃ha/YAit was

    As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

17. 17

    אַל־תִּהְיֵה־לִיal-tih/YE-lido not be to meלִמְחִתָּהlim/chit/TAa terrorמַחֲסִי־אַתָּהma/cha/SI-AT/taYou are my refugeבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofרָעָה׃ra/Aevil

    Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.

    יֵבֹשׁוּye/VO/shulet be ashamedרֹדְפַיrod/FAYthose who persecute meוְאַל־אֵבֹשָׁהve/AL-e/VO/shabut let me not be ashamedאָנִיA/nimeיֵחַתּוּye/CHAT/tulet them be dismayedהֵמָּהHEM/mathemוְאַל־אֵחַתָּהve/AL-e/CHAT/tabut let me not be dismayedאָנִיA/nimeהָבִיאha/VIbringעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themיוֹםyomthe day ofרָעָהra/Aevilוּמִשְׁנֶהu/mish/NEand with doubleשִׁבָּרוֹןshib/ba/RONdestructionשׇׁבְרֵם׃shov/REMdestroy them

    Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

19. 19

    כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meהָלֹךְha/LOKHgoוְעָמַדְתָּve/a/mad/TAand standבְּשַׁעַרbe/SHA/arin the gate ofבְּנֵי־[הָעָם]be/NE-ha/AMof the sons of the people(עם)mאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichיָבֹאוּya/VO/uenterבוֹvoitמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand by whichיֵצְאוּyets/Uthey go outבוֹvoitוּבְכֹלu/ve/KHOLand in allשַׁעֲרֵיsha/a/REthe gates ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDמַלְכֵיmal/KHEO kings ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahוְכֹלve/KHOLand allיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMwho enterבַּשְּׁעָרִיםbash/she/a/RIMby the gatesהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

21. 21

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUtake heedבְּנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶםbe/naf/sho/te/KHEMto yourselvesוְאַל־תִּשְׂאוּve/AL-tis/Uand do not carryמַשָּׂאmas/SAa burdenבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוַהֲבֵאתֶםva/ha/ve/TEMor bring it inבְּשַׁעֲרֵיbe/sha/a/REthrough the gates ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

22. 22

    וְלֹא־תוֹצִיאוּve/LO-to/TSI/unor carry outמַשָּׂאmas/SAa burdenמִבָּתֵּיכֶםmib/bat/te/KHEMfrom your housesבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוְכׇל־מְלָאכָהve/KHOL-me/la/KHAand any workלֹאlonotתַעֲשׂוּta/a/SUdoוְקִדַּשְׁתֶּםve/kid/dash/TEMbut keep holyאֶת־יוֹםet-yomthe day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוִּיתִיtsiv/VI/tiI commandedאֶת־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם׃et-a/vo/te/KHEMyour fathers

    Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

    וְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Udid they listenוְלֹאve/LOnorהִטּוּhit/TUinclineאֶת־אׇזְנָםet-oz/NAMtheir earוַיַּקְשׁוּvay/yak/SHUbut stiffenedאֶת־עׇרְפָּםet-or/PAMtheir necksלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as not to(שומע)shavam[שְׁמוֹעַ]she/MO/ahearוּלְבִלְתִּיu/le/vil/TIand not toקַחַתKA/chatreceiveמוּסָר׃mu/SARinstruction

    But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beאִם־שָׁמֹעַim-sha/MO/aif listenתִּשְׁמְעוּןtish/me/UNyou listenאֵלַיe/LAYto meנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toהָבִיאha/VIbringמַשָּׂאmas/SAa burdenבְּשַׁעֲרֵיbe/sha/a/REthrough the gates ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוּלְקַדֵּשׁu/le/kad/DESHand keep holyאֶת־יוֹםet-yomthe day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toעֲשׂוֹת־בֹּהa/SOT-bodo on itכׇּל־מְלָאכָה׃kol-me/la/KHAany work

    And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

    וּבָאוּu/VA/uthen will enterבְשַׁעֲרֵיve/sha/a/REthrough the gates ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsוְשָׂרִיםve/sa/RIMand princesיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMwho sitעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the throne ofדָוִדDa/VIDDavidרֹכְבִיםrokh/VIMridingבָּרֶכֶבba/RE/khevin chariotsוּבַסּוּסִיםu/vas/su/SIMand on the horsesהֵמָּהHEM/matheyוְשָׂרֵיהֶםve/sa/re/HEMand their princesאִישׁishthe men ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְיָשְׁבָהve/ya/she/VAand will be inhabitedהָעִיר־הַזֹּאתha/IR-haz/ZOTthis cityלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.

    וּבָאוּu/VA/uand they shall comeמֵעָרֵי־יְהוּדָהme/A/RE-ye/hu/DAfrom the cities of Judahוּמִסְּבִיבוֹתu/mis/se/vi/VOTand from the places aroundיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוּמֵאֶרֶץu/me/E/retsand from the land ofבִּנְיָמִןBin/ya/MINBenjaminוּמִן־הַשְּׁפֵלָהu/MIN-hash/she/fe/LAand from the lowlandוּמִן־הָהָרu/MIN-ha/HARand from the mountainוּמִן־הַנֶּגֶבu/MIN-han/NE/gevand from the Negevמְבִאִיםme/vi/IMbringingעוֹלָהo/LAburnt offeringsוְזֶבַחve/ZE/vachand sacrificesוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand grain offeringsוּלְבוֹנָהu/le/vo/NAand frankincenseוּמְבִאֵיu/me/vi/Eand bringingתוֹדָהto/DAthanksgivingבֵּיתbetto the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notתִשְׁמְעוּtish/me/Ulistenאֵלַיe/LAYto meלְקַדֵּשׁle/kad/DESHto keep holyאֶת־יוֹםet-yomthe day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוּלְבִלְתִּיu/le/vil/TIand not toשְׂאֵתse/ETcarryמַשָּׂאmas/SAa burdenוּבֹאu/VOand enterבְּשַׁעֲרֵיbe/sha/a/REthrough the gates ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוְהִצַּתִּיve/hits/TSAT/tiand I will kindleאֵשׁeshfireבִּשְׁעָרֶיהָbish/a/RE/hain its gatesוְאׇכְלָהve/okh/LAand it will devourאַרְמְנוֹתar/me/NOTthe palaces ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְלֹאve/LOand notתִכְבֶּה׃tikh/BEbe quenched

    But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
