   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,

   לֹא־תִקַּחlo-tik/KACHyou shall not takeלְךָle/KHAfor yourselfאִשָּׁהish/SHAa wifeוְלֹא־יִהְיוּve/LO-yih/YUnor shall you haveלְךָle/KHAfor yourselfבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsוּבָנוֹתu/va/NOTand daughtersבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.

   כִּי־כֹהki-khofor thusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־הַבָּנִיםal-hab/ba/NIMconcerning the sonsוְעַל־הַבָּנוֹתve/AL-hab/ba/NOTand concerning the daughtersהַיִּלּוֹדִיםhay/yil/lo/DIMwho are bornבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַל־אִמֹּתָםve/AL-im/mo/TAMand concerning their mothersהַיֹּלְדוֹתhay/yol/DOTwho boreאוֹתָםo/TAMthemוְעַל־אֲבוֹתָםve/AL-a/vo/TAMand concerning their fathersהַמּוֹלִדִיםham/mo/li/DIMwho begotאוֹתָםo/TAMthemבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

   For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;

   מְמוֹתֵיme/mo/TEdeaths ofתַחֲלֻאִיםta/cha/lu/IMdiseaseיָמֻתוּya/MU/tuthey will dieלֹאlonotיִסָּפְדוּyis/sa/fe/DUbe lamentedוְלֹאve/LOnorיִקָּבֵרוּyik/ka/VE/ruthey will be buriedלְדֹמֶןle/DO/menas dungעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe groundיִהְיוּyih/YUthey will beוּבַחֶרֶבu/va/CHE/revand by the swordוּבָרָעָבu/va/ra/AVand by famineיִכְלוּyikh/LUthey shall be consumedוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand will beנִבְלָתָםniv/la/TAMtheir carcassesלְמַאֲכָלle/ma/a/KHALfoodלְעוֹףle/OFto the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוּלְבֶהֱמַתu/le/ve/he/MATand for the animals ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.

   כִּי־כֹהki-khofor thusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאַל־תָּבוֹאal-ta/VOdo not enterבֵּיתbetthe house ofמַרְזֵחַmar/ZE/achmourningוְאַל־תֵּלֵךְve/AL-te/LEKHnor goלִסְפּוֹדlis/PODto lamentוְאַל־תָּנֹדve/AL-ta/NODnor grieveלָהֶםla/HEMfor themכִּי־אָסַפְתִּיki-a/SAF/tifor I have taken awayאֶת־שְׁלוֹמִיet-she/lo/MImy peaceמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֶת־הַחֶסֶדet-ha/CHE/sedthe kindnessוְאֶת־הָרַחֲמִים׃ve/ET-ha/ra/cha/MIMand the compassion

   For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.

6. 6

   וּמֵתוּu/ME/tuand they will dieגְדֹלִיםge/do/LIMthe greatוּקְטַנִּיםu/ke/tan/NIMand the smallבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלֹאlonotיִקָּבֵרוּyik/ka/VE/ruthey will be buriedוְלֹא־יִסְפְּדוּve/LO-yis/pe/DUnor will any lamentלָהֶםla/HEMfor themוְלֹאve/LOnorיִתְגֹּדַדyit/go/DADwill cut himselfוְלֹאve/LOnorיִקָּרֵחַyik/ka/RE/achmake himself baldלָהֶם׃la/HEMfor them

   Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:

7. 7

   וְלֹא־יִפְרְסוּve/LO-yif/re/SUnor will they break breadלָהֶםla/HEMfor themעַל־אֵבֶלal-E/velin mourningלְנַחֲמוֹle/na/cha/MOto comfort himעַל־מֵתal-metfor the deadוְלֹא־יַשְׁקוּve/LO-yash/KUnor will they give to drinkאוֹתָםo/TAMthemכּוֹסkosthe cup ofתַּנְחוּמִיםtan/chu/MIMconsolationsעַל־אָבִיוal-a/VIVfor his fatherוְעַל־אִמּוֹ׃ve/AL-im/MOor his mother

   Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.

8. 8

   וּבֵית־מִשְׁתֶּהu/VET-mish/TEand the house of feastingלֹא־תָבוֹאlo-ta/VOdo not go intoלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto sitאוֹתָםo/TAMwith themלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatוְלִשְׁתּוֹת׃ve/lish/TOTand to drink

   Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.

   כִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמַשְׁבִּיתmash/BITwill cause to ceaseמִן־הַמָּקוֹםmin-ham/ma/KOMfrom the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְעֵינֵיכֶםle/e/ne/KHEMbefore your eyesוּבִימֵיכֶםu/vi/me/KHEMand in your daysקוֹלkolthe voice ofשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONmirthוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voice ofשִׂמְחָהsim/CHAgladnessקוֹלkolthe voice ofחָתָןcha/TANthe bridegroomוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voice ofכַּלָּה׃kal/LAthe bride

   For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkiwhenתַגִּידtag/GIDyou tellלָעָםla/AMto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand they sayאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youעַל־מֶהal-mewhyדִבֶּרdib/BERpronouncedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usאֵת־כׇּל־הָרָעָהet-kol-ha/ra/Aall the evilהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּמֶהu/MEand what isעֲוֺנֵנוּa/vo/NE/nuour iniquityוּמֶהu/MEand what isחַטָּאתֵנוּchat/ta/TE/nuour sinאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחָטָאנוּcha/TA/nuwe have committedלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiagainst the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

    And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?

11. 11

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁר־עָזְבוּa/SHER-a/ze/VUhave forsakenאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersאוֹתִיo/TImeנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand walkedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsוַיַּעַבְדוּםvay/ya/av/DUMand they served themוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּvay/yish/ta/cha/VUand they worshipedלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְאֹתִיve/o/TIand meעָזָבוּa/ZA/vuthey have forsakenוְאֶת־תּוֹרָתִיve/ET-to/ra/TIand my lawלֹאlonotשָׁמָרוּ׃sha/MA/ruthey have kept

    Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;

12. 12

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youהֲרֵעֹתֶםha/re/o/TEMhave done worseלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTin doingמֵאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםme/a/vo/te/KHEMthan your fathersוְהִנְּכֶםve/hin/ne/KHEMfor behold youהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwalkאִישׁisheachאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterשְׁרִרוּתshe/ri/RUTthe stubbornness ofלִבּוֹ־הָרָעlib/BO-ha/RAhis evil heartלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as notשְׁמֹעַshe/MO/ato listenאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

    And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:

13. 13

    וְהֵטַלְתִּיve/he/tal/TItherefore I will hurlאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵעַלme/ALout ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsinto a landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMhave knownאַתֶּםat/TEMyouוַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםva/a/vo/te/KHEMnor your fathersוַעֲבַדְתֶּם־שָׁםva/a/vad/TEM-shamand there you will serveאֶת־אֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםet-e/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand nightאֲשֶׁרa/SHERforלֹא־אֶתֵּןlo-et/TENI will show noלָכֶםla/KHEMyouחֲנִינָה׃cha/ni/NAfavor

    Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנֵּה־יָמִיםhin/NE-ya/MIMbehold the daysבָּאִיםba/IMare comingנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְלֹא־יֵאָמֵרve/LO-ye/a/MERand it will not be saidעוֹדodagainחַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaias the LORD livesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעֱלָהhe/e/LAbrought upאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

15. 15

    כִּיkibutאִם־חַי־יְהֹוָהim-chay-Adonaias the LORD livesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעֱלָהhe/e/LAbrought upאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofצָפוֹןtsa/FONthe northוּמִכֹּלu/mik/KOLand from allהָאֲרָצוֹתha/a/ra/TSOTthe landsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהִדִּיחָםhid/di/CHAMHe had driven themשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוַהֲשִׁבֹתִיםva/ha/shi/vo/TIMfor I will bring them backעַל־אַדְמָתָםal-ad/ma/TAMto their landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלַאֲבוֹתָם׃la/a/vo/TAMto their fathers

    But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.

16. 16

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achwill send[לְדַיָּגִים]le/day/ya/GIMfor fishermenרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוְדִיגוּםve/di/GUMand they will fish themוְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand afterwardאֶשְׁלַחesh/LACHI will sendלְרַבִּיםle/rab/BIMfor manyצַיָּדִיםtsay/ya/DIMhuntersוְצָדוּםve/tsa/DUMand they will hunt themמֵעַלme/ALfromכׇּל־הַרkol-harevery mountainוּמֵעַלu/me/ALand fromכׇּל־גִּבְעָהkol-giv/Aevery hillוּמִנְּקִיקֵיu/min/ne/ki/KEand from the clefts ofהַסְּלָעִים׃has/se/la/IMthe rocks

    Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforעֵינַיe/NAYmy eyesעַל־כׇּל־דַּרְכֵיהֶםal-kol-dar/khe/HEMare on all their waysלֹאlonotנִסְתְּרוּnis/te/RUare they hiddenמִלְּפָנָיmil/le/fa/NAYfrom my faceוְלֹא־נִצְפַּןve/LO-nits/PANnor is concealedעֲוֺנָםa/vo/NAMtheir iniquityמִנֶּגֶדmin/NE/gedfrom beforeעֵינָי׃e/NAYmy eyes

    For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.

18. 18

    וְשִׁלַּמְתִּיve/shil/lam/TIand I will repayרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstמִשְׁנֵהmish/NEdoubleעֲוֺנָםa/vo/NAMtheir iniquityוְחַטָּאתָםve/chat/ta/TAMand their sinעַלalbecauseחַלְּלָםchal/le/LAMthey have defiledאֶת־אַרְצִיet-ar/TSImy landבְּנִבְלַתbe/niv/LATwith the carcasses ofשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶםshik/ku/tse/HEMtheir detestable thingsוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand their abominationsמָלְאוּma/le/Uthey have filledאֶת־נַחֲלָתִי׃et-na/cha/la/TImy inheritance

    And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.

19. 19

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDעֻזִּיuz/ZImy strengthוּמָעֻזִּיu/ma/uz/ZIand my strongholdוּמְנוּסִיu/me/nu/SIand my refugeבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofצָרָהtsa/RAtroubleאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsיָבֹאוּya/VO/uwill comeמֵאַפְסֵי־אָרֶץme/af/SE-A/retsfrom the ends of the earthוְיֹאמְרוּve/yo/me/RUand sayאַךְ־שֶׁקֶרakh-SHE/kersurely liesנָחֲלוּna/cha/LUhave inheritedאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersהֶבֶלHE/velvanityוְאֵין־בָּםve/EN-bamand in them is noמוֹעִיל׃mo/ILprofit

    O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

20. 20

    הֲיַעֲשֶׂה־לּוֹha/ya/a/SE-locan make for himselfאָדָםa/DAMmanאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/mayet they areלֹאlonotאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMgods

    Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?

21. 21

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמוֹדִיעָםmo/di/AMwill make them knowבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאוֹדִיעֵםo/di/EMI will make them knowאֶת־יָדִיet-ya/DImy handוְאֶת־גְּבוּרָתִיve/ET-ge/vu/ra/TIand my mightוְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand they will knowכִּי־שְׁמִיki-she/MIthat my name isיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
