Jeremiah 13 יִרְמְיָהוּ פרק י״ג

   כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoוְקָנִיתָve/ka/NI/taand buyלְּךָle/KHAyourselfאֵזוֹרe/ZORa waistband ofפִּשְׁתִּיםpish/TIMlinenוְשַׂמְתּוֹve/sam/TOand put itעַל־מׇתְנֶיךָal-mot/NE/khaupon your loinsוּבַמַּיִםu/vam/MA/yimbut in waterלֹאlodo notתְבִאֵהוּ׃te/vi/E/huput it

   Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.

   וָאֶקְנֶהva/ek/NEso I boughtאֶת־הָאֵזוֹרet-ha/e/ZORthe waistbandכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוָאָשִׂםva/a/SIMand put itעַל־מׇתְנָי׃al-mot/NAYupon my loins

   So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meשֵׁנִיתshe/NITa second timeלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,

   קַחkachtakeאֶת־הָאֵזוֹרet-ha/e/ZORthe waistbandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichקָנִיתָka/NI/tayou have boughtאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isעַל־מׇתְנֶיךָal-mot/NE/khaupon your loinsוְקוּםve/KUMand ariseלֵךְlekhgoפְּרָתָהPe/RA/tato the Euphratesוְטׇמְנֵהוּve/tom/NE/huand hide itשָׁםshamthereבִּנְקִיקbin/KIKin a cleft ofהַסָּלַע׃has/SA/lathe rock

   Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

   וָאֵלֵךְva/e/LEKHand I wentוָאֶטְמְנֵהוּva/et/me/NE/huand I hid itבִּפְרָתBif/RATby the Euphratesכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוֹתִי׃o/TIme

   So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִקֵּץmik/KETSat the end ofיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meקוּםkumariseלֵךְlekhgoפְּרָתָהPe/RA/tato the Euphratesוְקַחve/KACHand takeמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶת־הָאֵזוֹרet-ha/e/ZORthe waistbandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוִּיתִיךָtsiv/vi/TI/khaI commanded youלְטׇמְנוֹ־שָׁם׃le/tom/NO-shamto hide it there

   And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

   וָאֵלֵךְva/e/LEKHand I wentפְּרָתָהPe/RA/tato the Euphratesוָאֶחְפֹּרva/ech/PORand I dugוָאֶקַּחva/ek/KACHand I tookאֶת־הָאֵזוֹרet-ha/e/ZORthe waistbandמִן־הַמָּקוֹםmin-ham/ma/KOMfrom the placeאֲשֶׁר־טְמַנְתִּיוa/SHER-te/man/TIVwhere I had hidden itשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִשְׁחַתnish/CHATwas ruinedהָאֵזוֹרha/e/ZORthe waistbandלֹאlonotיִצְלַחyits/LACHgoodלַכֹּל׃lak/KOLfor anything

   Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכָּכָהKA/khathusאַשְׁחִיתash/CHITwill I ruinאֶת־גְּאוֹןet-ge/ONthe pride ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־גְּאוֹןve/ET-ge/ONand the pride ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemהָרָב׃ha/RAVthe great

   Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

    הָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהָרָעha/RAevilהַמֵּאֲנִיםham/me/a/NIMwho refuseלִשְׁמוֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֶת־דְּבָרַיet-de/va/RAYmy wordsהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho walkבִּשְׁרִרוּתbish/ri/RUTin the stubbornness ofלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartsוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand have goneאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsלְעׇבְדָםle/ov/DAMto serve themוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺתu/le/hish/ta/cha/VOTand to worshipלָהֶםla/HEMto themוִיהִיvi/HIwill beכָּאֵזוֹרka/e/ZORlike the waistbandהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יִצְלַחlo-yits/LACHis not goodלַכֹּל׃lak/KOLfor anything

    This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

    כִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיִדְבַּקyid/BAKclingsהָאֵזוֹרha/e/ZORthe waistbandאֶל־מׇתְנֵי־אִישׁel-mot/NE-ishto the loins of a manכֵּןkensoהִדְבַּקְתִּיhid/BAK/tiI made clingאֵלַיe/LAYto meאֶת־כׇּל־בֵּיתet-kol-betthe whole house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאֶת־כׇּל־בֵּיתve/ET-kol-betand the whole house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלִיlito meלְעָםle/AMa peopleוּלְשֵׁםu/le/SHEMand for a nameוְלִתְהִלָּהve/lit/hil/LAand for a praiseוּלְתִפְאָרֶתu/le/tif/A/retand for a gloryוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמֵעוּ׃sha/ME/uwould they listen

    For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכׇּל־נֵבֶלkol-NE/velevery jarיִמָּלֵאyim/MA/lewill be filled withיָיִןYA/yinwineוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand they will sayאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youהֲיָדֹעַha/ya/DO/aknowלֹאlonotנֵדַעne/DAdo we knowכִּיkithatכׇל־נֵבֶלkhol-NE/velevery jarיִמָּלֵאyim/MA/lewill be filled withיָיִן׃YA/yinwine

    Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמְמַלֵּאme/mal/LEwill fillאֶת־כׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיet-kol-yosh/VEall the inhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאֶת־הַמְּלָכִיםve/ET-ham/me/la/KHIMand the kingsהַיֹּשְׁבִיםhay/yosh/VIMwho sitלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDfor Davidעַל־כִּסְאוֹal-kis/Oupon his throneוְאֶת־הַכֹּהֲנִיםve/ET-hak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוְאֶת־הַנְּבִאִיםve/ET-han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיkol-yosh/VEall the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemשִׁכָּרוֹן׃shik/ka/RONwith drunkenness

    Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

14. 14

    וְנִפַּצְתִּיםve/nip/pats/TIMand I will dash themאִישׁishoneאֶל־אָחִיוel-a/CHIVagainst anotherוְהָאָבוֹתve/ha/a/VOTand the fathersוְהַבָּנִיםve/hab/ba/NIMand the sonsיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלֹא־אֶחְמוֹלlo-ech/MOLI will not pityוְלֹא־אָחוּסve/LO-a/CHUSnor spareוְלֹאve/LOnorאֲרַחֵםa/ra/CHEMhave mercyמֵהַשְׁחִיתָם׃me/hash/chi/TAMso as not to destroy them

    And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

15. 15

    שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearוְהַאֲזִינוּve/ha/a/ZI/nuand give earאַל־תִּגְבָּהוּal-tig/BA/hudo not be proudכִּיkiforיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדִּבֵּר׃dib/BERhas spoken

    Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.

16. 16

    תְּנוּte/NUgiveלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godכָּבוֹדka/VODgloryבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיַחְשִׁךְyach/SHIKHit grows darkוּבְטֶרֶםu/ve/TE/remand beforeיִתְנַגְּפוּyit/nag/ge/FUstumbleרַגְלֵיכֶםrag/le/KHEMyour feetעַל־הָרֵיal-ha/REupon the mountains ofנָשֶׁףNA/sheftwilightוְקִוִּיתֶםve/kiv/vi/TEMand while you waitלְאוֹרle/ORfor lightוְשָׂמָהּve/sa/MAHe turns itלְצַלְמָוֶתle/tsal/MA/vetinto the shadow of death(ישית)yashayat[וְשִׁית]ve/SHITand makes itלַעֲרָפֶל׃la/a/ra/FELinto thick darkness

    Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

17. 17

    וְאִםve/IMbut ifלֹאlonotתִשְׁמָעוּהָtish/ma/U/hayou will hear itבְּמִסְתָּרִיםbe/mis/ta/RIMin secret placesתִּבְכֶּה־נַפְשִׁיtiv/KE-naf/SHImy soul shall weepמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEforגֵוָהge/VAprideוְדָמֹעַve/da/MO/aand weepתִּדְמַעtid/MAwill weepוְתֵרַדve/te/RADand run down withעֵינִיe/NImy eyeדִּמְעָהdim/Atearsכִּיkiforנִשְׁבָּהnish/BAis taken captiveעֵדֶרE/derthe flock ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive.

18. 18

    אֱמֹרe/MORsayלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhto the kingוְלַגְּבִירָהve/lag/ge/vi/RAand to the queen motherהַשְׁפִּילוּhash/PI/luhumble yourselvesשֵׁבוּSHE/vusit lowכִּיkiforיָרַדya/RADhas come downמַרְאֲשׁוֹתֵיכֶםmar/a/sho/te/KHEMfrom your headעֲטֶרֶתa/TE/retthe crown ofתִּפְאַרְתְּכֶם׃tif/ar/te/KHEMyour glory

    Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.

19. 19

    עָרֵיa/REthe cities ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe Negevסֻגְּרוּsug/ge/RUare shut upוְאֵיןve/ENand no oneפֹּתֵחַpo/TE/achopensהׇגְלָתhog/LATis carried away captiveיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahכֻּלָּהּkul/LAall of itהׇגְלָתhog/LATcarried awayשְׁלוֹמִים׃she/lo/MIMwholly

    The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.

20. 20

    (שאי)shy[שְׂאוּ]se/Ulift upעֵינֵיכֶםe/ne/KHEMyour eyes(וראי)vary[וּרְאוּ]u/re/Uand beholdהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMthose who comeמִצָּפוֹןmits/tsa/FONfrom the northאַיֵּהay/YEwhere isהָעֵדֶרha/E/derthe flockנִתַּן־לָךְnit/TAN-lakhthat was given to youצֹאןtsonthe flock ofתִּפְאַרְתֵּךְ׃tif/ar/TEKHyour beauty

    Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

21. 21

    מַה־תֹּאמְרִיma-to/me/RIwhat will you sayכִּי־יִפְקֹדki-yif/KODwhen He punishesעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhyouוְאַתְּve/ATTfor youלִמַּדְתְּlim/MADThave taughtאֹתָםo/TAMthemעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst yourselfאַלֻּפִיםal/lu/FIMas chiefsלְרֹאשׁle/ROSHover youהֲלוֹאha/LOwill notחֲבָלִיםcha/va/LIMpangsיֹאחֱזוּךְyo/che/ZUKHseize youכְּמוֹke/MOlikeאֵשֶׁתE/sheta womanלֵדָה׃le/DAin labor

    What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?

22. 22

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifתֹאמְרִיto/me/RIyou will sayבִּלְבָבֵךְbil/va/VEKHin your heartמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyקְרָאֻנִיke/ra/U/nihave come upon meאֵלֶּהEL/lethese thingsבְּרֹבbe/ROVfor the greatness ofעֲוֺנֵךְa/vo/NEKHyour iniquityנִגְלוּnig/LUare uncoveredשׁוּלַיִךְshu/LA/yikhyour skirtsנֶחְמְסוּnech/me/SUsuffer violenceעֲקֵבָיִךְ׃a/ke/VA/yikhyour heels

    And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.

23. 23

    הֲיַהֲפֹךְha/ya/ha/FOKHcan changeכּוּשִׁיKu/SHIthe Cushiteעוֹרוֹo/ROhis skinוְנָמֵרve/na/MERor the leopardחֲבַרְבֻּרֹתָיוcha/var/bu/ro/TAYVits spotsגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMthen also youתּוּכְלוּtukh/LUcanלְהֵיטִיבle/he/TIVdo goodלִמֻּדֵיlim/mu/DEwho are accustomed toהָרֵעַ׃ha/RE/adoing evil

    Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

24. 24

    וַאֲפִיצֵםva/a/fi/TSEMtherefore I will scatter themכְּקַשׁ־עוֹבֵרke/KASH-o/VERlike chaff that passesלְרוּחַle/RU/achon the wind ofמִדְבָּר׃mid/BARthe wilderness

    Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

25. 25

    זֶהzethis isגוֹרָלֵךְgo/ra/LEKHyour lotמְנָת־מִדַּיִךְme/NAT-mid/DA/yikhthe portion of your measuresמֵאִתִּיme/it/TIfrom meנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERbecauseשָׁכַחַתְּsha/KHA/chattyou have forgottenאוֹתִיo/TImeוַתִּבְטְחִיvat/tiv/te/CHIand you trustedבַּשָּׁקֶר׃bash/SHA/kerin falsehood

    This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

26. 26

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NIso I alsoחָשַׂפְתִּיcha/SAF/tiwill strip offשׁוּלַיִךְshu/LA/yikhyour skirtsעַל־פָּנָיִךְal-pa/NA/yikhover your faceוְנִרְאָהve/nir/Aand will be seenקְלוֹנֵךְ׃ke/lo/NEKHyour shame

    Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.

27. 27

    נִאֻפַיִךְni/u/FA/yikhyour adulteriesוּמִצְהֲלוֹתַיִךְu/mits/ha/lo/TA/yikhand your neighingsזִמַּתzim/MATthe lewdness ofזְנוּתֵךְze/nu/TEKHyour harlotryעַל־גְּבָעוֹתal-ge/va/OTupon the hillsבַּשָּׂדֶהbas/sa/DEin the fieldרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawשִׁקּוּצָיִךְshik/ku/TSA/yikhyour abominable idolsאוֹיoywoeלָךְlakhto youיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimO Jerusalemלֹאlonotתִטְהֲרִיtit/ha/RIwill you be cleanאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterמָתַיma/TAYhow longעֹד׃odyet

    I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?
