Jeremiah 12 יִרְמְיָהוּ פרק י״ב

   Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

   נְטַעְתָּםne/ta/TAMYou have planted themגַּם־שֹׁרָשׁוּgam-sho/RA/shuyes they have taken rootיֵלְכוּyel/KHUthey growגַּם־עָשׂוּgam-A/suyes they bring forthפֶרִיFE/rifruitקָרוֹבka/ROVnear areאַתָּהat/TAYouבְּפִיהֶםbe/fi/HEMin their mouthsוְרָחוֹקve/ra/CHOKand is farמִכִּלְיוֹתֵיהֶם׃mik/kil/yo/te/HEMfrom their kidneys

   Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDיְדַעְתָּנִיye/da/TA/niknow meתִּרְאֵנִיtir/E/niYou see meוּבָחַנְתָּu/va/chan/TAand testלִבִּיlib/BImy heartאִתָּךְit/TAKHtowards Youהַתִּקֵםhat/ti/KEMdrag them outכְּצֹאןke/TSONlike sheepלְטִבְחָהle/tiv/CHAfor slaughterוְהַקְדִּשֵׁםve/hak/di/SHEMand set them apartלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the day ofהֲרֵגָה׃ha/re/GAslaughter

   But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

   עַד־מָתַיad-ma/TAYhow longתֶּאֱבַלte/e/VALwill mournהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְעֵשֶׂבve/E/sevand the herbs ofכׇּל־הַשָּׂדֶהkol-has/sa/DEevery fieldיִיבָשׁyi/VASHwitherמֵרָעַתme/ra/ATfor the wickedness ofיֹשְׁבֵי־בָהּyosh/VE-vathose who dwell in itסָפְתָהsa/fe/TAare swept awayבְהֵמוֹתve/he/MOTthe beastsוָעוֹףva/OFand birdsכִּיkibecauseאָמְרוּa/me/RUthey saidלֹאlonotיִרְאֶהyir/Ewill He seeאֶת־אַחֲרִיתֵנוּ׃et-a/cha/ri/TE/nuour end

   How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

   כִּיkiifאֶת־רַגְלִיםet-rag/LIMwith the footmenרַצְתָּהRATS/tayou have runוַיַּלְאוּךָvay/yal/U/khaand they have wearied youוְאֵיךְve/EKHand howתְּתַחֲרֶהte/ta/cha/REcan you contendאֶת־הַסּוּסִיםet-has/su/SIMwith horsesוּבְאֶרֶץu/ve/E/retsand if in a land ofשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceאַתָּהat/TAyouבוֹטֵחַvo/TE/achfeel secureוְאֵיךְve/EKHand howתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEwill you doבִּגְאוֹןbig/ONin the thicket ofהַיַּרְדֵּן׃hay/Yar/DENthe Jordan

   If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

   כִּיkiforגַם־אַחֶיךָgam-a/CHE/khaalso your brothersוּבֵית־אָבִיךָu/VET-a/VI/khaand your father's houseגַּם־הֵמָּהgam-HEM/maeven theyבָּגְדוּBAG/duhave dealt treacherouslyבָךְvakhwith youגַּם־הֵמָּהgam-HEM/maeven theyקָרְאוּka/re/Uhave criedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youמָלֵאma/LEaloudאַל־תַּאֲמֵןal-ta/a/MENdo not believeבָּםbamin themכִּי־יְדַבְּרוּki-ye/dab/be/RUthough they speakאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youטוֹבוֹת׃to/VOTgood things

   For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

   עָזַבְתִּיa/ZAV/tiI have forsakenאֶת־בֵּיתִיet-be/TImy houseנָטַשְׁתִּיna/TASH/tiI have abandonedאֶת־נַחֲלָתִיet-na/cha/la/TImy inheritanceנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveאֶת־יְדִדוּתet-ye/di/DUTthe beloved ofנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulבְּכַףbe/KHAFinto the hand ofאֹיְבֶיהָ׃oy/VE/haher enemies

   I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

   הָיְתָה־לִּיha/ye/TA-lihas become to meנַחֲלָתִיna/cha/la/TImy inheritanceכְּאַרְיֵהke/ar/YEas a lionבַיָּעַרvay/YA/arin the forestנָתְנָהna/te/NAshe has raisedעָלַיa/LAYagainst meבְּקוֹלָהּbe/ko/LAwith her voiceעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeשְׂנֵאתִיהָ׃se/ne/TI/haI hate her

   Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

   הַעַיִטha/A/yita bird of preyצָבוּעַtsa/VU/aspeckledנַחֲלָתִיna/cha/la/TIis my inheritanceלִיlito meהַעַיִטha/A/yitare the birds of preyסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst herלְכוּle/KHUgoאִסְפוּis/FUgatherכׇּל־חַיַּתkol-chay/YATall the beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldהֵתָיוּhe/TA/yubring themלְאׇכְלָה׃le/okh/LAto devour

   Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

    רֹעִיםro/IMshepherdsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyשִׁחֲתוּshi/cha/TUhave destroyedכַּרְמִיkar/MImy vineyardבֹּסְסוּbos/SUthey have trodden downאֶת־חֶלְקָתִיet-chel/ka/TImy portionנָתְנוּna/te/NUthey have madeאֶת־חֶלְקַתet-chel/KATthe portion ofחֶמְדָּתִיchem/da/TImy delightלְמִדְבַּרle/mid/BARinto a wilderness ofשְׁמָמָה׃she/ma/MAdesolation

    Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

11. 11

    שָׂמָהּsa/MAthey have made itלִשְׁמָמָהlish/ma/MAa desolationאָבְלָהa/ve/LAit mournsעָלַיa/LAYto meשְׁמֵמָהshe/me/MAdesolateנָשַׁמָּהna/SHAM/mais made desolateכׇּל־הָאָרֶץkol-ha/A/retsthe whole landכִּיkibecauseאֵיןennoאִישׁisha manשָׂםsamlays itעַל־לֵב׃al-levto heart

    They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

12. 12

    עַל־כׇּל־שְׁפָיִםal-kol-she/FA/yimon all the bare heightsבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessבָּאוּBA/uhave comeשֹׁדְדִיםshod/DIMdestroyersכִּיkiforחֶרֶבCHE/revthe swordלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiof the LORDאֹכְלָהokh/LAdevoursמִקְצֵה־אֶרֶץmik/TSE-E/retsfrom one end of the landוְעַד־קְצֵהve/AD-ke/TSEto the other end ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landאֵיןenthere is noשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלְכׇל־בָּשָׂר׃le/KHOL-ba/SARfor any flesh

    The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

13. 13

    זָרְעוּza/re/Uthey have sownחִטִּיםchit/TIMwheatוְקֹצִיםve/ko/TSIMbut thornsקָצָרוּka/TSA/ruthey have reapedנֶחְלוּnech/LUthey have exhausted themselvesלֹאlonotיוֹעִלוּyo/I/ludo they profitוּבֹשׁוּu/VO/shuand they will be ashamedמִתְּבוּאֹתֵיכֶםmit/te/vu/o/te/KHEMof your harvestsמֵחֲרוֹןme/cha/RONbecause of the fierceאַף־יְהֹוָה׃af-Adonaithe anger of the LORD

    They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

14. 14

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־כׇּל־שְׁכֵנַיal-kol-she/khe/NAYagainst all my neighborsהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMevilהַנֹּגְעִיםhan/nog/IMwho touchבַּנַּחֲלָהban/na/cha/LAthe inheritanceאֲשֶׁר־הִנְחַלְתִּיa/SHER-hin/CHAL/tiwhich I gave as an inheritance toאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iנֹתְשָׁםnot/SHAMwill pluck them upמֵעַלme/ALfromאַדְמָתָםad/ma/TAMtheir landוְאֶת־בֵּיתve/ET-betand the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֶתּוֹשׁet/TOSHI will pluck upמִתּוֹכָם׃mit/to/KHAMfrom among them

    Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

15. 15

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall come to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterנׇתְשִׁיnot/SHII have plucked upאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאָשׁוּבa/SHUVI will returnוְרִחַמְתִּיםve/ri/cham/TIMand I will have compassion on themוַהֲשִׁבֹתִיםva/ha/shi/vo/TIMand bring them backאִישׁishevery manלְנַחֲלָתוֹle/na/cha/la/TOto his own inheritanceוְאִישׁve/ISHand every manלְאַרְצוֹ׃le/ar/TSOto his own land

    And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

16. 16

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall come to passאִם־לָמֹדim-la/MODif learnיִלְמְדוּyil/me/DUthey learnאֶת־דַּרְכֵיet-dar/KHEthe ways ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleלְהִשָּׁבֵעַle/hish/sha/VE/ato swearבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIby my nameחַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaias the LORD livesכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asלִמְּדוּlim/me/DUthey taughtאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleלְהִשָּׁבֵעַle/hish/sha/VE/ato swearבַּבָּעַלbab/BA/alby Baalוְנִבְנוּve/niv/NUthen they will be built upבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongעַמִּי׃am/MImy people

    And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

17. 17

    וְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotיִשְׁמָעוּyish/MA/uobeyוְנָתַשְׁתִּיve/na/tash/TIthen I will pluck upאֶת־הַגּוֹיet-hag/GOYthe nationהַהוּאha/HUthatנָתוֹשׁna/TOSHpluck upוְאַבֵּדve/ab/BEDand destroyנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
