   For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,

   The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

   שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁיםsar-cha/mish/SHIMthe-captain-of-fiftyוּנְשׂוּאu/ne/SUand-the-lifted-up-ofפָנִיםfa/NIMfaceוְיוֹעֵץve/yo/ETSand-the-counselorוַחֲכַםva/cha/KHAMand-the-wise-ofחֲרָשִׁיםcha/ra/SHIMcraftsmenוּנְבוֹןu/ne/VONand-the-discerning-ofלָחַשׁ׃LA/chashwhispering

   The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

   וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand-I-will-giveנְעָרִיםne/a/RIMyouthsשָׂרֵיהֶםsa/re/HEMtheir-princesוְתַעֲלוּלִיםve/ta/a/lu/LIMand-babesיִמְשְׁלוּ־בָם׃yim/she/LU-vamshall-rule-over-them

   And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

   וְנִגַּשׂve/nig/GASand-shall-be-oppressedהָעָםha/AMthe-peopleאִישׁisha-manבְּאִישׁbe/ISHby-a-manוְאִישׁve/ISHand-a-manבְּרֵעֵהוּbe/re/E/huby-his-neighborיִרְהֲבוּyir/ha/VUshall-be-insolentהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe-youthבַּזָּקֵןbaz/za/KENagainst-the-elderוְהַנִּקְלֶהve/han/nik/LEand-the-baseבַּנִּכְבָּד׃ban/nikh/BADagainst-the-honorable

   And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

   כִּי־יִתְפֹּשׂki-yit/POSwhen-shall-take-holdאִישׁisha-manבְּאָחִיוbe/a/CHIVof-his-brotherבֵּיתbetthe-house-ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis-fatherשִׂמְלָהsim/LAa-garmentלְכָהle/KHAyou-haveקָצִיןka/TSINa-rulerתִּהְיֶה־לָּנוּtih/YE-LA/nuyou-shall-be-to-usוְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָהve/ham/makh/she/LAand-the-ruinהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתַּחַתTA/chatunderיָדֶךָ׃ya/DE/khayour-hand

   When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

   יִשָּׂאyis/SAhe-shall-swearבַיּוֹםvay/YOMin-the-dayהַהוּאha/HUthatלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־אֶהְיֶהlo-eh/YEI-will-not-beחֹבֵשׁcho/VESHa-healerוּבְבֵיתִיu/ve/ve/TIand-in-my-houseאֵיןenthere-is-noלֶחֶםLE/chembreadוְאֵיןve/ENand-there-is-noשִׂמְלָהsim/LAa-garmentלֹאlonotתְשִׂימֻנִיte/si/MU/niyou-shall-make-meקְצִיןke/TSINa-ruler-ofעָם׃ampeople

   In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

   כִּיkibecauseכָשְׁלָהkha/she/LAhas-stumbledיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand-Judahנָפָלna/FALis-fallenכִּי־לְשׁוֹנָםki-le/sho/NAMbecause-their-tongueוּמַעַלְלֵיהֶםu/ma/al/le/HEMand-their-doingsאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaiagainst-the-LORDלַמְרוֹתlam/ROTto-defyעֵנֵיe/NEthe-eyes-ofכְבוֹדוֹ׃khe/vo/DOHis-glory

   For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

   הַכָּרַתhak/ka/RATthe-look-ofפְּנֵיהֶםpe/ne/HEMtheir-facesעָנְתָהAN/tatestifiesבָּםbamagainst-themוְחַטָּאתָםve/chat/ta/TAMand-their-sinכִּסְדֹםKis/DOMas-Sodomהִגִּידוּhig/GI/duthey-declareלֹאlonotכִחֵדוּkhi/CHE/duthey-hideאוֹיoywoeלְנַפְשָׁםle/naf/SHAMto-their-soulכִּי־גָמְלוּki-ga/me/LUfor-they-have-requitedלָהֶםla/HEMto-themselvesרָעָה׃ra/Aevil

   The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

    אִמְרוּim/RUsayצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe-righteousכִּי־טוֹבki-tovthat-it-shall-be-wellכִּי־פְרִיki-fe/RIfor-the-fruit-ofמַעַלְלֵיהֶםma/al/le/HEMtheir-doingsיֹאכֵלוּ׃yo/KHE/luthey-shall-eat

    Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

11. 11

    אוֹיoywoeלְרָשָׁעle/ra/SHAto-the-wickedרָעrait-shall-be-illכִּי־גְמוּלki-ge/MULfor-the-recompense-ofיָדָיוya/DAYVhis-handsיֵעָשֶׂהye/a/SEshall-be-doneלּוֹ׃loto-him

    Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

    עַמִּיam/MImy-peopleנֹגְשָׂיוnog/SAYVhis-oppressorsמְעוֹלֵלme/o/LELa-childוְנָשִׁיםve/na/SHIMand-womenמָשְׁלוּMASH/luruleבוֹvoover-himעַמִּיam/MImy-peopleמְאַשְּׁרֶיךָme/ash/she/RE/khathey-that-lead-youמַתְעִיםmat/IMcause-to-errוְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand-the-way-ofאֹרְחֹתֶיךָor/cho/TE/khayour-pathsבִּלֵּעוּ׃bil/LE/uthey-have-swallowed-up

    As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

    נִצָּבnits/TSAVstands-upלָרִיבla/RIVto-pleadיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDוְעֹמֵדve/o/MEDand-standsלָדִיןla/DINto-judgeעַמִּים׃am/MIMpeoples

    The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

14. 14

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDבְּמִשְׁפָּטbe/mish/PATin-judgmentיָבוֹאya/VOwill-enterעִם־זִקְנֵיim-zik/NEwith-the-elders-ofעַמּוֹam/MOHis-peopleוְשָׂרָיוve/sa/RAYVand-its-princesוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand-youבִּעַרְתֶּםbi/ar/TEMhave-consumedהַכֶּרֶםhak/KE/remthe-vineyardגְּזֵלַתge/ze/LATthe-plunder-ofהֶעָנִיhe/a/NIthe-poorבְּבָתֵּיכֶם׃be/vat/te/KHEMin-your-houses

    The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

15. 15

    (מלכם)malakham[מַה־לָּכֶם]ma-la/KHEMwhat-mean-youתְּדַכְּאוּte/dak/ke/Uyou-crushעַמִּיam/MImy-peopleוּפְנֵיu/fe/NEand-the-faces-ofעֲנִיִּיםa/niy/YIMthe-poorתִּטְחָנוּtit/CHA/nuyou-grindנְאֻם־אֲדֹנָיne/UM-a/do/NAYsays-the-LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODצְבָאוֹת׃Tse/va/OTof-Hosts

    What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand-saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDיַעַןYA/anbecauseכִּיkithatגָבְהוּga/ve/HUare-haughtyבְּנוֹתbe/NOTthe-daughters-ofצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionוַתֵּלַכְנָהvat/te/LAKH/naand-walk[נְטוּיוֹת]ne/tu/YOToutstretchedגָּרוֹןga/RONneckוּמְשַׂקְּרוֹתu/me/sak/ke/ROTand-oglingעֵינָיִםe/NA/yimeyesהָלוֹךְha/LOKHwalkingוְטָפֹףve/ta/FOFand-mincingתֵּלַכְנָהte/LAKH/nathey-walkוּבְרַגְלֵיהֶםu/ve/rag/le/HEMand-with-their-feetתְּעַכַּסְנָה׃te/ak/KAS/nathey-jingle

    Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

17. 17

    וְשִׂפַּחve/sip/PACHand-will-smite-with-a-scabאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe-Lordקׇדְקֹדkod/KODthe-scalp-ofבְּנוֹתbe/NOTthe-daughters-ofצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand-the-LORDפׇּתְהֵןpot/HENtheir-secret-partsיְעָרֶה׃ye/a/REwill-lay-bare

    Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

18. 18

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin-the-dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיָסִירya/SIRwill-take-awayאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe-Lordאֵת־תִּפְאֶרֶתet-tif/E/retthe-finery-ofהָעֲכָסִיםha/a/kha/SIMthe-ankletsוְהַשְּׁבִיסִיםve/hash/she/vi/SIMand-the-hairnetsוְהַשַּׂהֲרֹנִים׃ve/has/sa/ha/ro/NIMand-the-crescents

    In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

19. 19

    הַנְּטִפוֹתhan/ne/ti/FOTthe-pendantsוְהַשֵּׁירוֹתve/hash/she/ROTand-the-braceletsוְהָרְעָלוֹת׃ve/ha/re/a/LOTand-the-scarves

    The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

20. 20

    הַפְּאֵרִיםhap/pe/e/RIMthe-headdressesוְהַצְּעָדוֹתve/hats/tse/a/DOTand-the-leg-chainsוְהַקִּשֻּׁרִיםve/hak/kish/shu/RIMand-the-headbandsוּבָתֵּיu/vat/TEand-the-boxes-ofהַנֶּפֶשׁhan/NE/feshthe-perfumeוְהַלְּחָשִׁים׃ve/hal/le/cha/SHIMand-the-earrings

    The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

21. 21

    הַטַּבָּעוֹתhat/tab/ba/OTthe-ringsוְנִזְמֵיve/niz/MEand-the-rings-ofהָאָף׃ha/AFthe-nose

    The rings, and nose jewels,

22. 22

    הַמַּחֲלָצוֹתham/ma/cha/la/TSOTthe-fine-robesוְהַמַּעֲטָפוֹתve/ham/ma/a/ta/FOTand-the-mantlesוְהַמִּטְפָּחוֹתve/ham/mit/pa/CHOTand-the-kerchiefsוְהָחֲרִיטִים׃ve/ha/cha/ri/TIMand-the-purses

    The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

23. 23

    וְהַגִּלְיֹנִיםve/hag/gil/yo/NIMand-the-mirrorsוְהַסְּדִינִיםve/has/se/di/NIMand-the-fine-linenוְהַצְּנִיפוֹתve/hats/tse/ni/FOTand-the-turbansוְהָרְדִידִים׃ve/ha/re/di/DIMand-the-veils

    The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

24. 24

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand-it-shall-beתַחַתTA/chatinstead-ofבֹּשֶׂםBO/sema-sweet-smellמַקmakrotיִהְיֶהyih/YEthere-shall-beוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand-instead-ofחֲגוֹרָהcha/go/RAa-girdleנִקְפָּהnik/PAa-rentוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand-instead-ofמַעֲשֶׂהma/a/SEworkמִקְשֶׁהmik/SHEwell-setקׇרְחָהkor/CHAbaldnessוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand-instead-ofפְּתִיגִילpe/ti/GILa-wide-sashמַחֲגֹרֶתma/cha/GO/reta-girding-ofשָׂקsaksackclothכִּי־תַחַתki-TA/chatburning-instead-ofיֹפִי׃YO/fibeauty

    And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

25. 25

    מְתַיִךְme/TA/yikhyour-menבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revwith-the-swordיִפֹּלוּyip/PO/lushall-fallוּגְבוּרָתֵךְu/ge/vu/ra/TEKHand-your-mightבַּמִּלְחָמָה׃bam/mil/cha/MAin-the-battle

    Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

26. 26

    וְאָנוּve/a/NUand-shall-lamentוְאָבְלוּve/a/ve/LUand-mournפְּתָחֶיהָpe/ta/CHE/haher-entrancesוְנִקָּתָהve/nik/KA/taand-she-shall-be-emptiedלָאָרֶץla/A/retsupon-the-groundתֵּשֵׁב׃te/SHEVshall-sit

    And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
