כִּיforהִנֵּהbeholdהָאָדוֹןthe-Masterיְהֹוָהthe-LORDצְבָאוֹתof-Hostsמֵסִירtakes-awayמִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםfrom-Jerusalemוּמִיהוּדָהand-from-Judahמַשְׁעֵןthe-stayוּמַשְׁעֵנָהand-the-staffכֹּלthe-wholeמִשְׁעַן־לֶחֶםstay-of-breadוְכֹלand-the-wholeמִשְׁעַן־מָיִם׃stay-of-water
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,

גִּבּוֹרthe-mighty-manוְאִישׁand-the-man-ofמִלְחָמָהwarשׁוֹפֵטthe-judgeוְנָבִיאand-the-prophetוְקֹסֵםand-the-divinerוְזָקֵן׃and-the-elder
The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁיםthe-captain-of-fiftyוּנְשׂוּאand-the-honorableפָנִיםmanוְיוֹעֵץand-the-counselorוַחֲכַםand-the-cunningחֲרָשִׁיםartificerוּנְבוֹןand-the-eloquentלָחַשׁ׃orator
The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

וְנָתַתִּיand-I-will-makeנְעָרִיםyoungstersשָׂרֵיהֶםas-their-princesוְתַעֲלוּלִיםand-babesיִמְשְׁלוּ־בָם׃shall-rule-over-them
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

וְנִגַּשׂand-shall-be-oppressedהָעָםthe-peopleאִישׁa-manבְּאִישׁby-anotherוְאִישׁand-a-manבְּרֵעֵהוּwith-anotherיִרְהֲבוּshall-behave-himself-proudlyהַנַּעַרthe-childבַּזָּקֵןagainst-the-elderוְהַנִּקְלֶהand-the-baseבַּנִּכְבָּד׃against-the-honorable
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

כִּי־יִתְפֹּשׂwhen-shall-take-holdאִישׁa-manבְּאָחִיוof-his-brotherבֵּיתthe-house-ofאָבִיוhis-fatherשִׂמְלָהclothingלְכָהyou-haveקָצִיןa-rulerתִּהְיֶה־לָּנוּbe-you-to-usוְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָהand-let-this-ruinהַזֹּאתthisתַּחַתbe-underיָדֶךָ׃your-hand
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

יִשָּׂאshall-he-swearבַיּוֹםin-that-dayהַהוּאthatלֵאמֹרsayingלֹא־אֶהְיֶהI-will-not-beחֹבֵשׁa-healerוּבְבֵיתִיand-in-my-houseאֵיןthere-is-noלֶחֶםbreadוְאֵיןand-there-is-noשִׂמְלָהa-garmentלֹאnotתְשִׂימֻנִיmake-me-notקְצִיןa-ruler-ofעָם׃the-people
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

כִּיbecauseכָשְׁלָהis-ruinedיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemוִיהוּדָהand-Judahנָפָלis-fallenכִּי־לְשׁוֹנָםbecause-their-tongueוּמַעַלְלֵיהֶםand-their-doingsאֶל־יְהֹוָהare-against-the-LORDלַמְרוֹתto-provokeעֵנֵיthe-eyes-ofכְבוֹדוֹ׃His-glory
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

הַכָּרַתthe-show-ofפְּנֵיהֶםtheir-facesעָנְתָהwitnessesבָּםagainst-themוְחַטָּאתָםand-their-sinכִּסְדֹםas-Sodomהִגִּידוּthey-declareלֹאnotכִחֵדוּthey-hide-itאוֹיwoeלְנַפְשָׁםto-their-own-soulsכִּי־גָמְלוּfor-they-have-requitedלָהֶםto-themselvesרָעָה׃evil
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

אִמְרוּsay-ofצַדִּיקrighteousכִּי־טוֹבthat-it-shall-be-wellכִּי־פְרִיfor-the-fruit-ofמַעַלְלֵיהֶםtheir-doingsיֹאכֵלוּ׃they-shall-eat
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

אוֹיalasלְרָשָׁעto-the-wickedרָעit-shall-be-illכִּי־גְמוּלfor-the-deserving-ofיָדָיוhis-handsיֵעָשֶׂהshall-be-doneלּוֹ׃to-him
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

עַמִּיmy-peopleנֹגְשָׂיוtheir-oppressorsמְעוֹלֵלchildrenוְנָשִׁיםand-womenמָשְׁלוּruleבוֹover-themעַמִּיmy-peopleמְאַשְּׁרֶיךָthey-that-lead-youמַתְעִיםcause-you-to-errוְדֶרֶךְand-the-way-ofאֹרְחֹתֶיךָyour-pathsבִּלֵּעוּ׃destroy
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

נִצָּבstands-upלָרִיבto-pleadיְהֹוָהthe-LORDוְעֹמֵדand-standsלָדִיןto-judgeעַמִּים׃the-people
The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

יְהֹוָהthe-LORDבְּמִשְׁפָּטin-judgmentיָבוֹאwill-enterעִם־זִקְנֵיwith-the-elders-ofעַמּוֹhis-peopleוְשָׂרָיוand-its-princesוְאַתֶּםand-youבִּעַרְתֶּםit-is-you-who-have-eaten-upהַכֶּרֶםthe-vineyardגְּזֵלַתthe-robbery-ofהֶעָנִיthe-poorבְּבָתֵּיכֶם׃is-in-your-houses
The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

(מלכם)[מַה־לָּכֶם]what-mean-youתְּדַכְּאוּby-crushingעַמִּיmy-peopleוּפְנֵיand-the-faces-ofעֲנִיִּיםthe-poorתִּטְחָנוּand-grindingנְאֻם־אֲדֹנָיsays-LordיֱהֹוִהGODצְבָאוֹת׃of-Hosts
What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

וַיֹּאמֶרand-saidיְהֹוָהthe-LORDיַעַןbecauseכִּיbecauseגָבְהוּare-haughtyבְּנוֹתthe-daughters-ofצִיּוֹןZionוַתֵּלַכְנָהand-walk[נְטוּיוֹת]outstretchedגָּרוֹןnecksוּמְשַׂקְּרוֹתand-oglingעֵינָיִםeyesהָלוֹךְwalkingוְטָפֹףand-mincingתֵּלַכְנָהas-they-goוּבְרַגְלֵיהֶםand-with-their-feetתְּעַכַּסְנָה׃making-a-tinkling
Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

וְשִׂפַּחtherefore-will-smite-with-a-scabאֲדֹנָיLordקׇדְקֹדthe-crown-of-the-head-ofבְּנוֹתthe-daughters-ofצִיּוֹןZionוַיהֹוָהand-the-LORDפׇּתְהֵןtheir-secret-partsיְעָרֶה׃will-lay-bare
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

בַּיּוֹםin-the-dayהַהוּאthatיָסִירwill-take-awayאֲדֹנָיLordאֵת־תִּפְאֶרֶתthe-bravery-ofהָעֲכָסִיםthe-ankletsוְהַשְּׁבִיסִיםand-the-tiarasוְהַשַּׂהֲרֹנִים׃and-the-necklaces
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

הַנְּטִפוֹתthe-eardropsוְהַשֵּׁירוֹתand-the-braceletsוְהָרְעָלוֹת׃and-the-scarves
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
- 20
הַפְּאֵרִיםthe-bonnetsוְהַצְּעָדוֹתand-the-armbandsוְהַקִּשֻּׁרִיםand-the-beltsוּבָתֵּיand-the-boxes-ofהַנֶּפֶשׁperfumeוְהַלְּחָשִׁים׃and-the-amulets
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

הַטַּבָּעוֹתthe-ringsוְנִזְמֵיand-ornamentsהָאָף׃of-the-nose
The rings, and nose jewels,
- 22
הַמַּחֲלָצוֹתthe-cloaksוְהַמַּעֲטָפוֹתand-the-mantlesוְהַמִּטְפָּחוֹתand-the-gownsוְהָחֲרִיטִים׃and-the-handbags
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

וְהַגִּלְיֹנִיםthe-gauzeוְהַסְּדִינִיםand-the-fine-linenוְהַצְּנִיפוֹתand-the-hoodsוְהָרְדִידִים׃and-the-veils
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
- 24
וְהָיָהand-beתַחַתinstead-ofבֹּשֶׂםa-sweet-smellמַקa-stenchיִהְיֶהthere-shall-beוְתַחַתand-instead-ofחֲגוֹרָהa-girdleנִקְפָּהa-ropeוְתַחַתand-instead-ofמַעֲשֶׂהwell-setמִקְשֶׁהhairקׇרְחָהbaldnessוְתַחַתand-instead-ofפְּתִיגִילa-fine-dressמַחֲגֹרֶתa-girding-ofשָׂקsackclothכִּי־תַחַתinstead-ofיֹפִי׃beauty
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

מְתַיִךְyour-menבַּחֶרֶבwith-the-swordיִפֹּלוּshall-fallוּגְבוּרָתֵךְand-your-mightyבַּמִּלְחָמָה׃in-the-battle
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
- 26
וְאָנוּand-shall-lamentוְאָבְלוּand-mournפְּתָחֶיהָher-gatesוְנִקָּתָהand-she-being-desolateלָאָרֶץupon-the-groundתֵּשֵׁב׃shall-sit
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
