   In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

   פִּתְחוּpit/CHUopenשְׁעָרִיםshe/a/RIMthe-gatesוְיָבֹאve/ya/VOand-let-enterגוֹי־צַדִּיקgoy-tsad/DIKa-righteous-nationשֹׁמֵרsho/MERthat-keepsאֱמֻנִים׃e/mu/NIMfaithfulness

   Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

   יֵצֶרYE/tserthe-mindסָמוּךְsa/MUKHstayedתִּצֹּרtits/TSORYou-will-keepשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceכִּיkibecauseבְךָve/KHAin-Youבָּטוּחַ׃ba/TU/achtrusting

   Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

   בִּטְחוּbit/CHUtrustבַיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin-the-LORDעֲדֵי־עַדa/DE-adfor-everכִּיkiforבְּיָהּbe/YAin-the-LORDיְהֹוָהAdonaiJEHOVAHצוּרTsurthe-Rock-ofעוֹלָמִים׃o/la/MIMages

   Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

   כִּיkiforהֵשַׁחhe/SHACHHe-brings-downיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthem-that-dwell-onמָרוֹםma/ROMhighקִרְיָהkir/YAa-townנִשְׂגָּבָהnis/ga/VAloftyיַשְׁפִּילֶנָּהyash/pi/LEN/naHe-lays-it-lowיַשְׁפִּילָהּyash/pi/LAHe-lays-it-lowעַד־אֶרֶץad-E/retseven-to-the-groundיַגִּיעֶנָּהyag/gi/EN/naHe-brings-itעַד־עָפָר׃ad-a/FARto-the-dust

   For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

   תִּרְמְסֶנָּהtir/me/SEN/nashall-trample-it-downרָגֶלRA/gelthe-footרַגְלֵיrag/LEthe-feet-ofעָנִיa/NIthe-poorפַּעֲמֵיpa/a/MEthe-steps-ofדַלִּים׃dal/LIMthe-needy

   The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

   אֹרַחO/rachthe-way-ofלַצַּדִּיקlats/tsad/DIKfor-the-righteousמֵישָׁרִיםme/sha/RIMuprightnessיָשָׁרya/SHARO-most-uprightמַעְגַּלma/GALthe-track-ofצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe-righteousתְּפַלֵּס׃te/fal/LESYou-make-level

   The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

   אַףafindeedאֹרַחO/rachthe-way-ofמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָmish/pa/TE/khaYour-judgmentsיְהֹוָהAdonaiO-LORDקִוִּינוּךָkiv/vi/NU/khawe-have-waited-for-Youלְשִׁמְךָle/shim/KHAto-Your-nameוּלְזִכְרְךָu/le/zikh/re/KHAand-to-the-remembrance-of-Youתַּאֲוַת־נָפֶשׁ׃ta/a/VAT-NA/feshthe-desire-of-soul

   Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

   With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

    Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO-LORDרָמָהra/MAis-lifted-upיָדְךָya/de/KHAYour-handבַּל־יֶחֱזָיוּןbal-ye/che/za/YUNthey-will-not-seeיֶחֱזוּye/che/ZUthey-shall-seeוְיֵבֹשׁוּve/ye/VO/shuand-be-ashamedקִנְאַת־עָםkin/AT-amYour-zeal-for-the-peopleאַף־אֵשׁaf-eshyea-the-fireצָרֶיךָtsa/RE/khaof-Your-enemiesתֹאכְלֵם׃to/khe/LEMshall-devour-them

    LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

    LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

13. 13

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO-LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour-Godבְּעָלוּנוּbe/a/LU/nuhave-had-dominion-over-usאֲדֹנִיםa/do/NIMlordsזוּלָתֶךָzu/la/TE/khabesides-Youלְבַד־בְּךָle/VAD-be/KHAonly-by-Youנַזְכִּירnaz/KIRwe-make-mention-ofשְׁמֶךָ׃she/ME/khaYour-name

    O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

    מֵתִיםme/TIMthe-deadבַּל־יִחְיוּbal-yich/YUthey-shall-not-liveרְפָאִיםre/fa/IMthe-shadesבַּל־יָקֻמוּbal-ya/KU/mushall-not-riseלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeפָּקַדְתָּpa/KAD/taYou-have-visitedוַתַּשְׁמִידֵםvat/tash/mi/DEMand-destroyed-themוַתְּאַבֵּדvat/te/ab/BEDand-made-to-perishכׇּל־זֵכֶרkol-ZE/kherall-memoryלָמוֹ׃LA/moof-them

    They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

    Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO-LORDבַּצַּרbats/TSARin-troubleפְּקָדוּךָpe/ka/DU/khathey-have-sought-Youצָקוּןtsa/KUNthey-poured-outלַחַשׁLA/chasha-whisperמוּסָרְךָmu/sa/re/KHAYour-chasteningלָמוֹ׃LA/moupon-them

    LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

17. 17

    כְּמוֹke/MOlikeהָרָהha/RAa-woman-with-childתַּקְרִיבtak/RIVthat-draws-nearלָלֶדֶתla/LE/detto-give-birthתָּחִילta/CHILis-in-painתִּזְעַקtiz/AKand-cries-outבַּחֲבָלֶיהָba/cha/va/LE/hain-her-pangsכֵּןkenthusהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe-wereמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khabefore-Youיְהֹוָה׃AdonaiO-LORD

    Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

18. 18

    הָרִינוּha/RI/nuwe-have-been-with-childחַלְנוּCHAL/nuwe-have-been-in-painכְּמוֹke/MOas-it-wereיָלַדְנוּya/LAD/nuwe-have-brought-forthרוּחַRU/achwindיְשׁוּעֹתye/shu/OTdeliverancesבַּל־נַעֲשֶׂהbal-NA/a/sewe-have-not-wroughtאֶרֶץE/retsthe-earthוּבַל־יִפְּלוּu/VAL-yip/pe/LUand-have-not-fallenיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthe-inhabitants-ofתֵבֵל׃te/VELthe-world

    We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

    יִחְיוּyich/YUshall-liveמֵתֶיךָme/TE/khaYour-deadנְבֵלָתִיne/ve/la/TImy-dead-bodyיְקוּמוּןye/ku/MUNshall-ariseהָקִיצוּha/KI/tsuawakeוְרַנְּנוּve/ran/ne/NUand-sing-for-joyשֹׁכְנֵיshokh/NEyou-that-dwell-inעָפָרa/FARdustכִּיkiforטַלtalthe-dew-ofאוֹרֹתo/ROTherbsטַלֶּךָtal/LE/khaYour-dewוָאָרֶץva/A/retsand-the-earthרְפָאִיםre/fa/IMthe-shadesתַּפִּיל׃tap/PILshall-cast-out

    Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

    לֵךְlekhcomeעַמִּיam/MImy-peopleבֹּאboenterבַחֲדָרֶיךָva/cha/da/RE/khainto-your-chambersוּסְגֹרu/se/GORand-shut(דלתיך)dalatayakh[דְּלָתְךָ]de/la/te/KHAyour-doorsבַּעֲדֶךָba/a/DE/khaabout-youחֲבִיcha/VIhide-yourselfכִמְעַט־רֶגַעkhim/AT-RE/gafor-a-little-momentעַד־(יעבור)־[יַעֲבׇר־]זָעַם׃ad-yvavar-ya/a/VOR-za/AMuntil-the-indignation-be-overpast

    Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21. 21

    כִּי־הִנֵּהki-hin/NEfor-beholdיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDיֹצֵאyo/TSEcomes-outמִמְּקוֹמוֹmim/me/ko/MOfrom-His-placeלִפְקֹדlif/KODto-punishעֲוֺןa/VONthe-iniquity-ofיֹשֵׁב־הָאָרֶץyo/SHEV-ha/A/retsthe-inhabitant-of-the-earthעָלָיוa/LAYVupon-himוְגִלְּתָהve/gil/le/TAand-shall-discloseהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe-earthאֶת־דָּמֶיהָet-da/ME/haher-bloodוְלֹא־תְכַסֶּהve/LO-te/khas/SEand-shall-not-coverעוֹדodany-moreעַל־הֲרוּגֶיהָ׃al-ha/ru/GE/haher-slain

    For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
