Hosea 7 הוֹשֵׁעַ פרק ז׳

   כְּרׇפְאִיke/rof/Iwhen I would have healedלְיִשְׂרָאֵלLe/yis/ra/ELIsraelוְנִגְלָהve/nig/LAthen was uncoveredעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוְרָעוֹתve/ra/OTand the wickedness ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaכִּיkiforפָעֲלוּfa/a/LUthey commitשָׁקֶרSHA/kerfalsehoodוְגַנָּבve/gan/NAVand the thiefיָבוֹאya/VOcomes inפָּשַׁטpa/SHATraidsגְּדוּדge/DUDa troopבַּחוּץ׃ba/CHUTSwithout

   When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.

   וּבַל־יֹאמְרוּu/VAL-yo/me/RUand they say notלִלְבָבָםlil/va/VAMin their heartכׇּל־רָעָתָםkol-ra/a/TAMall their wickednessזָכָרְתִּיza/KHAR/tiI rememberעַתָּהat/TAnowסְבָבוּםse/va/VUMhave beset themמַעַלְלֵיהֶםma/al/le/HEMtheir doingsנֶגֶדNE/gedbeforeפָּנַיpa/NAYmy faceהָיוּ׃ha/YUthey are

   And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.

   בְּרָעָתָםbe/ra/a/TAMwith their wickednessיְשַׂמְּחוּ־מֶלֶךְye/sam/me/CHU-ME/lekhthey make the king gladוּבְכַחֲשֵׁיהֶםu/ve/kha/cha/she/HEMand with their liesשָׂרִים׃sa/RIMthe princes

   They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

   כֻּלָּםkul/LAMthey are allמְנָאֲפִיםme/na/a/FIMadulterersכְּמוֹke/MOasתַנּוּרtan/NURan ovenבֹּעֵרָהbo/E/raheatedמֵאֹפֶהme/o/FEby the bakerיִשְׁבּוֹתyish/BOTwho ceasesמֵעִירme/IRfrom raisingמִלּוּשׁmil/LUSHafter kneadingבָּצֵקba/TSEKthe doughעַד־חֻמְצָתוֹ׃ad-chum/tsa/TOuntil it is leavened

   They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.

   יוֹםyomin the day ofמַלְכֵּנוּmal/KE/nuour kingהֶחֱלוּhe/che/LUhave made him sickשָׂרִיםsa/RIMthe princesחֲמַתcha/MATwith the heat ofמִיָּיִןmiy/YA/yinfrom wineמָשַׁךְma/SHAKHhe stretched outיָדוֹya/DOhis handאֶת־לֹצְצִים׃et-lots/TSIMwith scorners

   In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

   כִּי־קֵרְבוּki-ker/VUfor they have made readyכַתַּנּוּרkhat/tan/NURlike the ovenלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartsבְּאׇרְבָּםbe/or/BAMwhile they lie in waitכׇּל־הַלַּיְלָהkol-hal/LAY/laall the nightיָשֵׁןya/SHENsleepsאֹפֵהֶםo/fe/HEMtheir bakerבֹּקֶרBO/kerin the morningהוּאhuitבֹעֵרvo/ERburnsכְּאֵשׁke/ESHas a fire ofלֶהָבָה׃le/ha/VAflame

   For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

   כֻּלָּםkul/LAMthey are allיֵחַמּוּye/CHAM/muhotכַּתַּנּוּרkat/tan/NURas an ovenוְאָכְלוּve/a/khe/LUand have devouredאֶת־שֹׁפְטֵיהֶםet-shof/te/HEMtheir judgesכׇּל־מַלְכֵיהֶםkol-mal/khe/HEMall their kingsנָפָלוּna/FA/luare fallenאֵין־קֹרֵאen-ko/REthere is none that callsבָהֶםva/HEMamong themאֵלָי׃e/LAYunto me

   They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

   אֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimבָּעַמִּיםba/am/MIMamong the peoplesהוּאhuheיִתְבּוֹלָלyit/bo/LALhas mixed himselfאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimהָיָהha/YAisעֻגָהu/GAa cakeבְּלִיbe/LInotהֲפוּכָה׃ha/fu/KHAturned

   Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

9. 9

   אָכְלוּa/khe/LUhave devouredזָרִיםza/RIMstrangersכֹּחוֹko/CHOhis strengthוְהוּאve/HUand heלֹאlonotיָדָעya/DAhe knowsגַּם־שֵׂיבָהgam-se/VAyea gray hairsזָרְקָהZAR/kaare sprinkledבּוֹboupon himוְהוּאve/HUand heלֹאlonotיָדָע׃ya/DAhe knows

   Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

    וְעָנָהve/a/NAand testifiesגְאוֹן־יִשְׂרָאֵלge/ON-Yis/ra/ELthe pride of Israelבְּפָנָיוbe/fa/NAYVto his faceוְלֹא־שָׁבוּve/LO-SHA/vuand they do not returnאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוְלֹאve/LOand notבִקְשֻׁהוּvik/SHU/huthey have sought Himבְּכׇל־זֹאת׃be/KHOL-zotin all this

    And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand isאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimכְּיוֹנָהke/yo/NAlike a doveפוֹתָהfo/TAsillyאֵיןenwithoutלֵבlevheartמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptקָרָאוּka/RA/uthey call toאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaהָלָכוּ׃ha/LA/khuthey go to

    Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

12. 12

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיֵלֵכוּye/LE/khuthey goאֶפְרוֹשׂef/ROSI will spreadעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themרִשְׁתִּיrish/TImy netכְּעוֹףke/OFlike the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensאוֹרִידֵםo/ri/DEMI will bring them downאַיְסִירֵםay/si/REMI will chastise themכְּשֵׁמַעke/SHE/maaccording to the reportלַעֲדָתָם׃la/a/da/TAMto their congregation

    When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

13. 13

    אוֹיoywoeלָהֶםla/HEMto themכִּי־נָדְדוּki-na/de/DUfor they have fledמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meשֹׁדshoddestructionלָהֶםla/HEMto themכִּי־פָשְׁעוּki-FASH/ubecause they have transgressedבִיviagainst meוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIthough Iאֶפְדֵּםef/DEMwould redeem themוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/mayet theyדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUhave spokenעָלַיa/LAYagainst meכְּזָבִים׃ke/za/VIMlies

    Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

14. 14

    וְלֹא־זָעֲקוּve/LO-za/a/KUand they have not criedאֵלַיe/LAYto meבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartכִּיkiwhenיְיֵלִילוּye/ye/LI/luthey howledעַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָםal-mish/ke/vo/TAMupon their bedsעַל־דָּגָןal-da/GANfor grainוְתִירוֹשׁve/ti/ROSHand new wineיִתְגּוֹרָרוּyit/go/RA/ruthey assemble themselvesיָסוּרוּya/SU/ruthey turn awayבִי׃viagainst me

    And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iיִסַּרְתִּיyis/SAR/tihave trainedחִזַּקְתִּיchiz/ZAK/tistrengthenedזְרוֹעֹתָםze/ro/o/TAMtheir armsוְאֵלַיve/e/LAYand to meיְחַשְּׁבוּ־רָע׃ye/chash/she/VU-rathey devise evil

    Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

16. 16

    יָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey returnלֹאlonotעָלAlthe Most Highהָיוּha/YUthey areכְּקֶשֶׁתke/KE/shetlike a bow ofרְמִיָּהre/miy/YAdeceitיִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUshall fallבַחֶרֶבva/CHE/revby the swordשָׂרֵיהֶםsa/re/HEMtheir princesמִזַּעַםmiz/ZA/amfor the rage ofלְשׁוֹנָםle/sho/NAMtheir tongueזוֹzothis shall beלַעְגָּםla/GAMtheir derisionבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
