Hosea 13 הוֹשֵׁעַ פרק י״ג

   כְּדַבֵּרke/dab/BERwhen spokeאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimרְתֵתre/TETtremblingנָשָׂאna/SAhe exalted himselfהוּאhuheבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin Israelוַיֶּאְשַׁםvay/ye/SHAMbut when he offendedבַּבַּעַלbab/BA/alin Baalוַיָּמֹת׃vay/ya/MOTand he died

   When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיוֹסִפוּyo/SI/futhey addלַחֲטֹאla/cha/TOto sinוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand have madeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesמַסֵּכָהmas/se/KHAmolten imagesמִכַּסְפָּםmik/kas/PAMof their silverכִּתְבוּנָםkit/vu/NAMaccording to their own understandingעֲצַבִּיםa/tsab/BIMidolsמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofחָרָשִׁיםcha/ra/SHIMthe craftsmenכֻּלֹּהkul/LOall of itלָהֶםla/HEMof themהֵםhemtheyאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayזֹבְחֵיzov/CHEthey that sacrificeאָדָםa/DAMmenעֲגָלִיםa/ga/LIMcalvesיִשָּׁקוּן׃yish/sha/KUNkiss

   And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeיִהְיוּyih/YUthey shall beכַּעֲנַן־בֹּקֶרka/a/NAN-BO/keras the morning cloudוְכַטַּלve/khat/TALand as the dewמַשְׁכִּיםmash/KIMearlyהֹלֵךְho/LEKHthat passes awayכְּמֹץke/MOTSas the chaffיְסֹעֵרye/so/ERthat is driven with the whirlwindמִגֹּרֶןmig/GO/renout of the floorוּכְעָשָׁןu/khe/a/SHANand as the smokeמֵאֲרֻבָּה׃me/a/rub/BAout of the chimney

   Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.

   וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIyet I amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוֵאלֹהִיםve/lo/HIMand a godזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIbut meלֹאlonotתֵדָעte/DAyou shall knowוּמוֹשִׁיעַu/mo/SHI/aand a saviorאַיִןA/yinthere is noneבִּלְתִּי׃bil/TIbeside me

   Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

   אֲנִיa/NIIיְדַעְתִּיךָye/da/TI/khadid know youבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofתַּלְאֻבוֹת׃tal/u/VOTgreat drought

   I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

   כְּמַרְעִיתָםke/mar/i/TAMaccording to their pastureוַיִּשְׂבָּעוּvay/yis/BA/uso were they filledשָׂבְעוּsa/ve/Uthey were filledוַיָּרׇםvay/YA/romand was exaltedלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeשְׁכֵחוּנִי׃she/khe/CHU/nihave they forgotten me

   According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

   וָאֱהִיva/e/HItherefore I will beלָהֶםla/HEMto themכְּמוֹ־שָׁחַלke/MO-SHA/chalas a lionכְּנָמֵרke/na/MERas a leopardעַל־דֶּרֶךְal-DE/rekhby the wayאָשׁוּר׃a/SHURwill I observe them

   Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

   אֶפְגְּשֵׁםef/ge/SHEMI will meet themכְּדֹבke/DOVas a bearשַׁכּוּלshak/KULbereaved of her whelpsוְאֶקְרַעve/ek/RAand will rendסְגוֹרse/GORthe caul ofלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartוְאֹכְלֵםve/okh/LEMand I will devour themשָׁםshamthereכְּלָבִיאke/la/VIlike a lionחַיַּתchay/YATthe wild beast ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldתְּבַקְּעֵם׃te/vak/ke/EMshall tear them

   I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

   שִׁחֶתְךָshi/chet/KHAyou have destroyed yourselfיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelכִּי־בִיki-vibut in meבְעֶזְרֶךָ׃ve/ez/RE/khais your help

   O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

10. 10

    אֱהִיe/HIwhere isמַלְכְּךָmal/ke/KHAyour kingאֵפוֹאe/FOnowוְיוֹשִׁיעֲךָve/yo/shi/a/KHAthat he may save youבְּכׇל־עָרֶיךָbe/KHOL-a/RE/khain all your citiesוְשֹׁפְטֶיךָve/shof/TE/khaand your judgesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomאָמַרְתָּa/MAR/tayou saidתְּנָה־לִּיte/NA-ligive meמֶלֶךְME/lekha kingוְשָׂרִים׃ve/sa/RIMand princes

    I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?

    אֶתֶּן־לְךָet/TEN-le/KHAI gave youמֶלֶךְME/lekha kingבְּאַפִּיbe/ap/PIin my angerוְאֶקַּחve/ek/KACHand took him awayבְּעֶבְרָתִי׃be/ev/ra/TIin my wrath

    I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.

12. 12

    צָרוּרtsa/RURis bound upעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofאֶפְרָיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimצְפוּנָהtse/fu/NAis hidחַטָּאתוֹ׃chat/ta/TOhis sin

    The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.

13. 13

    חֶבְלֵיchev/LEthe sorrows ofיוֹלֵדָהyo/le/DAa travailing womanיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall comeלוֹloupon himהוּא־בֵןhu-venhe is a sonלֹאlonotחָכָםcha/KHAMwiseכִּי־עֵתki-etfor the timeלֹא־יַעֲמֹדlo-ya/a/MODhe should not stayבְּמִשְׁבַּרbe/mish/BARin the breaking forth ofבָּנִים׃ba/NIMchildren

    The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.

    מִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolאֶפְדֵּםef/DEMI will ransom themמִמָּוֶתmim/MA/vetfrom deathאֶגְאָלֵםeg/a/LEMI will redeem themאֱהִיe/HIwhere areדְבָרֶיךָde/va/RE/khayour plaguesמָוֶתMA/vetO deathאֱהִיe/HIwhere isקׇטׇבְךָko/tov/KHAyour destructionשְׁאוֹלShe/OLO SheolנֹחַםNO/chamrepentanceיִסָּתֵרyis/sa/TERshall be hidמֵעֵינָי׃me/e/NAYfrom my eyes

    I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

    כִּיkithoughהוּאhuheבֵּיןbenamongאַחִיםa/CHIMbrethrenיַפְרִיאyaf/RIbe fruitfulיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeקָדִיםka/DIMan east windרוּחַRU/achthe wind ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִמִּדְבָּרmim/mid/BARfrom the wildernessעֹלֶהo/LEshall come upוְיֵבוֹשׁve/ye/VOSHand shall become dryמְקוֹרוֹme/ko/ROhis springוְיֶחֱרַבve/ye/che/RAVand shall be dried upמַעְיָנוֹma/ya/NOhis fountainהוּאhuheיִשְׁסֶהyish/SEshall spoilאוֹצַרo/TSARthe treasure ofכׇּל־כְּלִיkol-ke/LIall vessels ofחֶמְדָּה׃chem/DAdesire

    Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
