Hosea 1 הוֹשֵׁעַ פרק א׳

   The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

   The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

   וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־גֹּמֶרet-GO/merGomerבַּת־דִּבְלָיִםbat-Div/LA/yimdaughter of Diblaimוַתַּהַרvat/TA/harand she conceivedוַתֵּלֶד־לוֹvat/TE/led-loand bore himבֵּן׃bena son

   So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himקְרָאke/RAcallשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameיִזְרְעֶאלYiz/re/ELJezreelכִּי־עוֹדki-odfor yetמְעַטme/ATa littleוּפָקַדְתִּיu/fa/kad/TIand I will visitאֶת־דְּמֵיet-de/MEthe blood ofיִזְרְעֶאלYiz/re/ELJezreelעַל־בֵּיתal-betupon the house ofיֵהוּאYe/HUJehuוְהִשְׁבַּתִּיve/hish/bat/TIand I will cause to ceaseמַמְלְכוּתmam/le/KHUTthe kingdom ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

5. 5

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוְשָׁבַרְתִּיve/sha/var/TIand I will breakאֶת־קֶשֶׁתet-KE/shetthe bow ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּעֵמֶקbe/E/mekin the valley ofיִזְרְעֶאל׃Yiz/re/ELJezreel

   And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.

   וַתַּהַרvat/TA/harand she conceivedעוֹדodagainוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreבַּתbata daughterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himקְרָאke/RAcallשְׁמָהּshe/MAher nameלֹאLoLo-רֻחָמָהru/CHA/maruhamahכִּיkiforלֹאlonotאוֹסִיףo/SIFwill I againעוֹדodany moreאֲרַחֵםa/ra/CHEMI will have mercy onאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכִּי־נָשֹׂאki-na/SObut take awayאֶשָּׂאes/SAI will take awayלָהֶם׃la/HEMthem

   And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

   וְאֶת־בֵּיתve/ET-betbut the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֲרַחֵםa/ra/CHEMI will have mercy onוְהוֹשַׁעְתִּיםve/ho/sha/TIMand I will save themבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוְלֹאve/LOand notאוֹשִׁיעֵםo/shi/EMI will save themבְּקֶשֶׁתbe/KE/shetby bowוּבְחֶרֶבu/ve/CHE/revnor by swordוּבְמִלְחָמָהu/ve/mil/cha/MAnor by battleבְּסוּסִיםbe/su/SIMby horsesוּבְפָרָשִׁים׃u/ve/fa/ra/SHIMnor by horsemen

   But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

8. 8

   וַתִּגְמֹלvat/tig/MOLand she weanedאֶת־לֹאet-LoLo-רֻחָמָהru/CHA/maruhamahוַתַּהַרvat/TA/harand she conceivedוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreבֵּן׃bena son

   Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

9. 9

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidקְרָאke/RAcallשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameלֹאLoLo-עַמִּיam/MIammiכִּיkiforאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areלֹאlonotעַמִּיam/MImy peopleוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iלֹא־אֶהְיֶהlo-eh/YEwill not beלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyours

   Then said God, Call his name Lo-ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.
