Hosea 2 הוֹשֵׁעַ פרק ב׳

1. 1

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe number ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelכְּחוֹלke/CHOLas the sand ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יִמַּדlo-yim/MADcannot be measuredוְלֹאve/LOnorיִסָּפֵרyis/sa/FERbe numberedוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבִּמְקוֹםbim/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־יֵאָמֵרa/SHER-ye/a/MERwhere it was saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֹא־עַמִּיlo-am/MInot my peopleאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit shall be saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאֵל־חָי׃el-chaythe living God

   Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

2. 2

   וְנִקְבְּצוּve/nik/be/TSUthen shall be gathered togetherבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהbe/NE-ye/hu/DAthe children of Judahוּבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלu/ve/NE-yis/ra/ELand the children of Israelיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherוְשָׂמוּve/sa/MUand shall appointלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesרֹאשׁroshheadאֶחָדe/CHADoneוְעָלוּve/a/LUand they shall come upמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the landכִּיkiforגָדוֹלga/DOLgreat shall beיוֹםyomdayיִזְרְעֶאל׃Yiz/re/ELJezreel

   Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

   אִמְרוּim/RUsayלַאֲחֵיכֶםla/a/che/KHEMto your brethrenעַמִּיAm/MIAmmiוְלַאֲחוֹתֵיכֶםve/la/a/cho/te/KHEMand to your sistersרֻחָמָה׃Ru/CHA/maRuhamah

   Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru-hamah.

   רִיבוּRI/vupleadבְאִמְּכֶםve/im/me/KHEMwith your motherרִיבוּRI/vupleadכִּי־הִיאki-hifor she isלֹאlonotאִשְׁתִּיish/TImy wifeוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand I amלֹאlonotאִישָׁהּi/SHAher husbandוְתָסֵרve/ta/SERand let her removeזְנוּנֶיהָze/nu/NE/haher harlotriesמִפָּנֶיהָmip/pa/NE/hafrom her faceוְנַאֲפוּפֶיהָve/na/a/fu/FE/haand her adulteriesמִבֵּיןmib/BENfrom betweenשָׁדֶיהָ׃sha/DE/haher breasts

   Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

   פֶּן־אַפְשִׁיטֶנָּהpen-af/shi/TEN/nalest I strip herעֲרֻמָּהa/rum/MAnakedוְהִצַּגְתִּיהָve/hits/tsag/TI/haand I will set herכְּיוֹםke/YOMas the day ofהִוָּלְדָהּhiv/va/le/DAshe was bornוְשַׂמְתִּיהָve/sam/TI/haand I will make herכַמִּדְבָּרkham/mid/BARlike the wildernessוְשַׁתִּהָve/shat/TI/haand set herכְּאֶרֶץke/E/retslike a landצִיָּהtsiy/YAdryוַהֲמִתִּיהָva/ha/mit/TI/haand slay herבַּצָּמָא׃bats/tsa/MAwith thirst

   Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

6. 6

   וְאֶת־בָּנֶיהָve/ET-ba/NE/haand her childrenלֹאlonotאֲרַחֵםa/ra/CHEMI will have mercy onכִּי־בְנֵיki-ve/NEfor the children ofזְנוּנִיםze/nu/NIMharlotryהֵמָּה׃HEM/mathey are

   And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.

   כִּיkiforזָנְתָהza/ne/TAhas played the harlotאִמָּםim/MAMtheir motherהֹבִישָׁהho/VI/shahas done shamefullyהוֹרָתָםho/ra/TAMshe that conceived themכִּיkiforאָמְרָהa/me/RAshe saidאֵלְכָהel/KHAI will goאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterמְאַהֲבַיme/a/ha/VAYmy loversנֹתְנֵיnot/NEthat giveלַחְמִיlach/MImy breadוּמֵימַיu/me/MAYand my waterצַמְרִיtsam/RImy woolוּפִשְׁתִּיu/fish/TIand my flaxשַׁמְנִיsham/NImy oilוְשִׁקּוּיָי׃ve/shik/ku/YAYand my drink

   For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

8. 8

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנְנִי־שָׂךְhin/NI-sakhbehold I will hedge upאֶת־דַּרְכֵּךְet-dar/KEKHyour wayבַּסִּירִיםbas/si/RIMwith thornsוְגָדַרְתִּיve/ga/dar/TIand I will build a wallאֶת־גְּדֵרָהּet-ge/de/RAher wallוּנְתִיבוֹתֶיהָu/ne/ti/vo/TE/haand her pathsלֹאlonotתִמְצָא׃tim/TSAshe shall find

   Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.

9. 9

   וְרִדְּפָהve/rid/de/FAand she shall follow afterאֶת־מְאַהֲבֶיהָet-me/a/ha/VE/haher loversוְלֹא־תַשִּׂיגve/LO-tas/SIGbut she shall not overtakeאֹתָםo/TAMthemוּבִקְשָׁתַםu/vik/SHA/tamand she shall seek themוְלֹאve/LObut notתִמְצָאtim/TSAshe shall findוְאָמְרָהve/a/me/RAthen shall she sayאֵלְכָהel/KHAI will goוְאָשׁוּבָהve/a/SHU/vaand returnאֶל־אִישִׁיel-i/SHIto my husbandהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstכִּיkiforטוֹבtovbetterלִיlifor meאָזazthenמֵעָתָּה׃me/AT/tamore than now

   And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

10. 10

    וְהִיאve/HIfor sheלֹאlonotיָדְעָהya/de/Adid knowכִּיkithatאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tigaveלָהּlato herהַדָּגָןhad/da/GANthe grainוְהַתִּירוֹשׁve/hat/ti/ROSHand the new wineוְהַיִּצְהָרve/hay/yits/HARand the oilוְכֶסֶףve/KHE/sefand silverהִרְבֵּיתִיhir/BE/timultipliedלָהּlato herוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldעָשׂוּa/SUthey preparedלַבָּעַל׃lab/BA/alfor Baal

    For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

11. 11

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאָשׁוּבa/SHUVwill I returnוְלָקַחְתִּיve/la/kach/TIand take awayדְגָנִיde/ga/NImy grainבְּעִתּוֹbe/it/TOin its timeוְתִירוֹשִׁיve/ti/ro/SHIand my new wineבְּמוֹעֲדוֹbe/mo/a/DOin its seasonוְהִצַּלְתִּיve/hits/tsal/TIand will recoverצַמְרִיtsam/RImy woolוּפִשְׁתִּיu/fish/TIand my flaxלְכַסּוֹתle/khas/SOTto coverאֶת־עֶרְוָתָהּ׃et-er/va/TAher nakedness

    Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

12. 12

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֲגַלֶּהa/gal/LEwill I uncoverאֶת־נַבְלֻתָהּet-nav/lu/TAher lewdnessלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEin the sight ofמְאַהֲבֶיהָme/a/ha/VE/haher loversוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹא־יַצִּילֶנָּהlo-yats/tsi/LEN/nashall not deliver herמִיָּדִי׃miy/ya/DIout of my hand

    And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.

13. 13

    וְהִשְׁבַּתִּיve/hish/bat/TIand I will cause to ceaseכׇּל־מְשׂוֹשָׂהּkol-me/so/SAall her mirthחַגָּהּchag/GAher feast daysחׇדְשָׁהּchod/SHAher new moonsוְשַׁבַּתָּהּve/shab/bat/TAand her sabbathsוְכֹלve/KHOLand allמוֹעֲדָהּ׃mo/a/DAher solemn feasts

    I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

14. 14

    וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִיva/ha/shim/mo/TIand I will lay wasteגַּפְנָהּgaf/NAher vinesוּתְאֵנָתָהּu/te/e/na/TAand her fig treesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichאָמְרָהa/me/RAshe has saidאֶתְנָהet/NAa hireהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areלִיlito meאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתְנוּ־לִיna/te/NU-lihave given meמְאַהֲבָיme/a/ha/VAYmy loversוְשַׂמְתִּיםve/sam/TIMand I will make themלְיַעַרle/YA/ara forestוַאֲכָלָתַםva/a/kha/LA/tamand shall eat themחַיַּתchay/YATthe beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶה׃has/sa/DEthe field

    And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

15. 15

    וּפָקַדְתִּיu/fa/kad/TIand I will visitעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon herאֶת־יְמֵיet-ye/MEthe days ofהַבְּעָלִיםHab/be/a/LIMBaalimאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereinתַּקְטִירtak/TIRshe burned incenseלָהֶםla/HEMto themוַתַּעַדvat/TA/adand she decked herself withנִזְמָהּniz/MAher earringsוְחֶלְיָתָהּve/chel/ya/TAand her jewelsוַתֵּלֶךְvat/TE/lekhand she wentאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterמְאַהֲבֶיהָme/a/ha/VE/haher loversוְאֹתִיve/o/TIand meשָׁכְחָהsha/khe/CHAshe forgotנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.

16. 16

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְפַתֶּיהָme/fat/TE/hawill allure herוְהֹלַכְתִּיהָve/ho/lakh/TI/haand bring herהַמִּדְבָּרham/mid/BARinto the wildernessוְדִבַּרְתִּיve/dib/bar/TIand speakעַל־לִבָּהּ׃al-lib/BAto her heart

    Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.

17. 17

    וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will giveלָהּlato herאֶת־כְּרָמֶיהָet-ke/ra/ME/haher vineyardsמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוְאֶת־עֵמֶקve/ET-E/mekand the valley ofעָכוֹרA/KHORAchorלְפֶתַחle/FE/tachfor a door ofתִּקְוָהtik/VAhopeוְעָנְתָהve/AN/taand she shall singשָּׁמָּהSHAM/mathereכִּימֵיki/MEas in the days ofנְעוּרֶיהָne/u/RE/haher youthוּכְיוֹםu/khe/YOMand like the day ofעֲלוֹתָהּa/lo/TAshe came upמֵאֶרֶץ־מִצְרָיִם׃me/E/rets-mits/RA/yimfrom the land of Egypt

    And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

18. 18

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַיּוֹם־הַהוּאvay/YOM-ha/HUin that dayנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDתִּקְרְאִיtik/re/Iyou shall call meאִישִׁיI/SHIIshiוְלֹא־תִקְרְאִי־לִיve/LO-tik/re/I-liand shall call me noעוֹדodmoreבַּעְלִי׃Ba/LIBaali

    And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.

19. 19

    וַהֲסִרֹתִיva/ha/si/ro/TIand I will removeאֶת־שְׁמוֹתet-she/MOTthe names ofהַבְּעָלִיםhab/Be/a/LIMthe Baalimמִפִּיהָmip/PI/hafrom her mouthוְלֹא־יִזָּכְרוּve/LO-yiz/za/khe/RUand they shall not be rememberedעוֹדodany moreבִּשְׁמָם׃bish/MAMby their name

    For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.

20. 20

    וְכָרַתִּיve/kha/rat/TIand I will makeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatעִם־חַיַּתim-chay/YATwith the beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldוְעִם־עוֹףve/IM-ofand with the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְרֶמֶשׂve/RE/mesand the creeping things ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe groundוְקֶשֶׁתve/KE/shetand the bowוְחֶרֶבve/CHE/revand the swordוּמִלְחָמָהu/mil/cha/MAand the battleאֶשְׁבּוֹרesh/BORI will breakמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the landוְהִשְׁכַּבְתִּיםve/hish/kav/TIMand will make them lie downלָבֶטַח׃la/VE/tachsafely

    And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

21. 21

    וְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְve/e/ras/TIKHand I will betroth youלִיlito meלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverוְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְve/e/ras/TIKHand I will betroth youלִיlito meבְּצֶדֶקbe/TSE/dekwith righteousnessוּבְמִשְׁפָּטu/ve/mish/PATand in judgmentוּבְחֶסֶדu/ve/CHE/sedand in lovingkindnessוּבְרַחֲמִים׃u/ve/ra/cha/MIMand in mercies

    And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

22. 22

    וְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְve/e/ras/TIKHand I will betroth youלִיlito meבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAin faithfulnessוְיָדַעַתְּve/ya/DA/attand you shall knowאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

23. 23

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאֶעֱנֶהe/e/NEI will answerנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֶעֱנֶהe/e/NEI will answerאֶת־הַשָּׁמָיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְהֵםve/HEMand theyיַעֲנוּya/a/NUshall answerאֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃et-ha/A/retsthe earth

    And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

24. 24

    וְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the earthתַּעֲנֶהta/a/NEshall answerאֶת־הַדָּגָןet-had/da/GANthe grainוְאֶת־הַתִּירוֹשׁve/ET-hat/ti/ROSHand the new wineוְאֶת־הַיִּצְהָרve/ET-hay/yits/HARand the oilוְהֵםve/HEMand theyיַעֲנוּya/a/NUshall answerאֶת־יִזְרְעֶאל׃et-Yiz/re/ELJezreel

    And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

25. 25

    וּזְרַעְתִּיהָu/ze/ra/TI/haand I will sow herלִּיlifor meבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthוְרִחַמְתִּיve/ri/cham/TIand I will have mercy onאֶת־לֹאet-LoLo-רֻחָמָהru/CHA/maruhamahוְאָמַרְתִּיve/a/mar/TIand I will sayלְלֹא־עַמִּיle/LO-am/MIto Lo-ammiעַמִּי־אַתָּהam/MI-AT/tayou are my peopleוְהוּאve/HUand heיֹאמַרyo/MARshall sayאֱלֹהָי׃e/lo/HAYmy God

    And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
