Genesis 8 בְּרֵאשִׁית פרק ח׳

   וַיִּזְכֹּרvay/yiz/KORand rememberedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־נֹחַet-NO/achNoahוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַחַיָּהkol-ha/chay/YAevery beastוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַבְּהֵמָהve/ET-kol-hab/be/he/MAand all the livestockאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבַּתֵּבָהbat/te/VAin the arkוַיַּעֲבֵרvay/ya/a/VERand made passאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodרוּחַRU/acha windעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsover the earthוַיָּשֹׁכּוּvay/ya/SHOK/kuand abatedהַמָּיִם׃ham/MA/yimthe waters

   And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

   וַיִּסָּכְרוּvay/yis/sa/khe/RUand were stoppedמַעְיְנֹתma/ye/NOTthe fountains ofתְּהוֹםte/HOMthe deepוַאֲרֻבֹּתva/a/rub/BOTand the windows ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimheavenוַיִּכָּלֵאvay/yik/ka/LEand was restrainedהַגֶּשֶׁםhag/GE/shemthe rainמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃min-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heaven

   The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

   וַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand returnedהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמֵעַלme/ALfrom uponהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoingוָשׁוֹבva/SHOVand returningוַיַּחְסְרוּvay/yach/se/RUand abatedהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמִקְצֵהmik/TSEat the end ofחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMfiftyוּמְאַתu/me/ATand a hundredיוֹם׃yomdays

   And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

   וַתָּנַחvat/TA/nachand restedהַתֵּבָהhat/te/VAthe arkבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Iseventhבְּשִׁבְעָה־עָשָׂרbe/shiv/A-a/SARon the seventeenthיוֹםyomdayלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthעַלaluponהָרֵיha/REthe mountains ofאֲרָרָט׃A/ra/RATArarat

   And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

   וְהַמַּיִםve/ham/MA/yimand the watersהָיוּha/YUwereהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoingוְחָסוֹרve/cha/SORand decreasingעַדaduntilהַחֹדֶשׁha/CHO/deshthe monthהָעֲשִׂירִיha/a/si/RItenthבָּעֲשִׂירִיba/a/si/RIin the tenthבְּאֶחָדbe/e/CHADon the firstלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthנִרְאוּnir/Uwere seenרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe tops ofהֶהָרִים׃he/ha/RIMthe mountains

   And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִקֵּץmik/KETSat the end ofאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyיוֹםyomdaysוַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHthat openedנֹחַNO/achNoahאֶת־חַלּוֹןet-chal/LONthe window ofהַתֵּבָהhat/te/VAthe arkאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשָׂה׃a/SAhe had made

   And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

   וַיְשַׁלַּחvay/shal/LACHand he sent forthאֶת־הָעֹרֵבet-ha/o/REVa ravenוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand it went forthיָצוֹאya/TSOgoing forthוָשׁוֹבva/SHOVand returningעַד־יְבֹשֶׁתad-ye/VO/shetuntil were dried upהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמֵעַלme/ALfrom uponהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8. 8

   וַיְשַׁלַּחvay/shal/LACHand he sent forthאֶת־הַיּוֹנָהet-hay/yo/NAa doveמֵאִתּוֹme/it/TOfrom himלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeהֲקַלּוּha/KAL/luif were abatedהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמֵעַלme/ALfrom uponפְּנֵיpe/NEthe face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAthe ground

   Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

9. 9

   וְלֹא־מָצְאָהve/LO-ma/tse/Abut found notהַיּוֹנָהhay/yo/NAthe doveמָנוֹחַma/NO/acha resting placeלְכַף־רַגְלָהּle/KHAF-rag/LAfor the sole of her footוַתָּשׇׁבvat/TA/shovand she returnedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֶל־הַתֵּבָהel-hat/te/VAinto the arkכִּי־מַיִםki-MA/yimfor watersעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEon the face ofכׇל־הָאָרֶץkhol-ha/A/retsthe whole earthוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he put forthיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַיִּקָּחֶהָvay/yik/ka/CHE/haand took herוַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtאֹתָהּo/TAherאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himselfאֶל־הַתֵּבָה׃el-hat/te/VAinto the ark

   But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

    וַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland he waitedעוֹדodyetשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherוַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand againשַׁלַּחshal/LACHsent forthאֶת־הַיּוֹנָהet-hay/yo/NAthe doveמִן־הַתֵּבָה׃min-hat/te/VAfrom the ark

    And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

11. 11

    וַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַיּוֹנָהhay/yo/NAthe doveלְעֵתle/ETat the time ofעֶרֶבE/reveveningוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעֲלֵה־זַיִתa/LE-ZA/yitan olive leafטָרָףta/RAFplucked offבְּפִיהָbe/FI/hain her mouthוַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewנֹחַNO/achNoahכִּי־קַלּוּki-KAL/luthat were abatedהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמֵעַלme/ALfrom uponהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

12. 12

    וַיִּיָּחֶלvay/yiy/YA/cheland he stayedעוֹדodyetשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherוַיְשַׁלַּחvay/shal/LACHand sent forthאֶת־הַיּוֹנָהet-hay/yo/NAthe doveוְלֹא־יָסְפָהve/LO-ya/se/FAand she did not againשׁוּב־אֵלָיוshuv-e/LAYVreturn to himעוֹד׃odany more

    And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

13. 13

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּאַחַתbe/a/CHATin the oneוְשֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹתve/SHESH-me/OTand six hundredthשָׁנָהsha/NAyearבָּרִאשׁוֹןba/ri/SHONin the firstבְּאֶחָדbe/e/CHADon the firstלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthחׇרְבוּchor/VUwere dried upהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersמֵעַלme/ALfrom offהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand removedנֹחַNO/achNoahאֶת־מִכְסֵהet-mikh/SEthe covering ofהַתֵּבָהhat/te/VAthe arkוַיַּרְאvay/YARand lookedוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdחׇרְבוּchor/VUwere driedפְּנֵיpe/NEthe face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAthe ground

    And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14. 14

    וּבַחֹדֶשׁu/va/CHO/deshand in the monthהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIsecondבְּשִׁבְעָהbe/shiv/Aon the sevenוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentiethיוֹםyomdayלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthיָבְשָׁהya/ve/SHAwas driedהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

15. 15

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶל־נֹחַel-NO/achto Noahלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And God spake unto Noah, saying,

16. 16

    צֵאtsego forthמִן־הַתֵּבָהmin-hat/te/VAfrom the arkאַתָּהat/TAyouוְאִשְׁתְּךָve/ish/te/KHAand your wifeוּבָנֶיךָu/va/NE/khaand your sonsוּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָu/ne/SHE-va/NE/khaand the wives of your sonsאִתָּךְ׃it/TAKHwith you

    Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

17. 17

    כׇּל־הַחַיָּהkol-ha/chay/YAevery living thingאֲשֶׁר־אִתְּךָa/SHER-it/te/KHAthat is with youמִכׇּל־בָּשָׂרmik/KOL-ba/SARof all fleshבָּעוֹףba/OFof birdsוּבַבְּהֵמָהu/vab/be/he/MAand of livestockוּבְכׇל־הָרֶמֶשׂu/ve/KHOL-ha/RE/mesand of every creeping thingהָרֹמֵשׂha/ro/MESthat creepsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthהַיְצֵאhay/TSEbring forthאִתָּךְit/TAKHwith youוְשָׁרְצוּve/sha/re/TSUthat they may swarmבָאָרֶץva/A/retsin the earthוּפָרוּu/fa/RUand be fruitfulוְרָבוּve/ra/VUand multiplyעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retson the earth

    Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

18. 18

    וַיֵּצֵא־נֹחַvay/Ye/TSE-NO/achand Noah went forthוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsוְאִשְׁתּוֹve/ish/TOand his wifeוּנְשֵׁי־בָנָיוu/ne/SHE-va/NAYVand the wives of his sonsאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

19. 19

    כׇּל־הַחַיָּהkol-ha/chay/YAevery beastכׇּל־הָרֶמֶשׂkol-ha/RE/mesevery creeping thingוְכׇל־הָעוֹףve/KHOL-ha/OFand every birdכֹּלkolwhateverרוֹמֵשׂro/MEScreepsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיהֶםle/mish/pe/cho/te/HEMafter their familiesיָצְאוּya/tse/Uwent forthמִן־הַתֵּבָה׃min-hat/te/VAout of the ark

    Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

20. 20

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtנֹחַNO/achNoahמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookמִכֹּלmik/KOLof everyהַבְּהֵמָהhab/be/he/MAbeastהַטְּהֹרָהhat/te/ho/RAcleanוּמִכֹּלu/mik/KOLand of everyהָעוֹףha/OFbirdהַטָּהוֹרhat/ta/HORcleanוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he offeredעֹלֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsבַּמִּזְבֵּחַ׃bam/miz/BE/achon the altar

    And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21. 21

    וַיָּרַחvay/YA/rachand smelledיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־רֵיחַet-RE/achthe savor ofהַנִּיחֹחַhan/ni/CHO/achsoothingוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־לִבּוֹel-lib/BOto His heartלֹא־אֹסִףlo-o/SIFI will not againלְקַלֵּלle/kal/LELcurseעוֹדodany moreאֶת־הָאֲדָמָהet-ha/a/da/MAthe groundבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmanכִּיkiforיֵצֶרYE/tserthe imagination ofלֵבlevthe heart ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmanרַעrais evilמִנְּעֻרָיוmin/ne/u/RAYVfrom his youthוְלֹא־אֹסִףve/LO-o/SIFneither will I againעוֹדodany moreלְהַכּוֹתle/hak/KOTsmiteאֶת־כׇּל־חַיet-kol-chayevery living thingכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשִׂיתִי׃a/SI/tiI have done

    And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

22. 22

    עֹדodwhileכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthזֶרַעZE/raseedtimeוְקָצִירve/ka/TSIRand harvestוְקֹרve/KORand coldוָחֹםva/CHOMand heatוְקַיִץve/KA/yitsand summerוָחֹרֶףva/CHO/refand winterוְיוֹםve/YOMand dayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand nightלֹאlonotיִשְׁבֹּתוּ׃yish/BO/tushall cease

    While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
