1. 1

   וַיִּקְרָאand calledיַעֲקֹבJacobאֶל־בָּנָיוto his sonsוַיֹּאמֶרand saidהֵאָסְפוּgather yourselvesוְאַגִּידָהand I will tellלָכֶםto youאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָאthat which shall befallאֶתְכֶםyouבְּאַחֲרִיתin the last ofהַיָּמִים׃the days

   And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

2. 2

   הִקָּבְצוּgather togetherוְשִׁמְעוּand hearבְּנֵיthe sons ofיַעֲקֹבJacobוְשִׁמְעוּand hearאֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵלto Israelאֲבִיכֶם׃your father

   Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

   רְאוּבֵןReubenבְּכֹרִיmy firstbornאַתָּהyouכֹּחִיmy strengthוְרֵאשִׁיתand the beginning ofאוֹנִיmy strengthיֶתֶרthe excellency ofשְׂאֵתdignityוְיֶתֶרand the excellency ofעָז׃power

   Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

4. 4

   פַּחַזunstableכַּמַּיִםas the watersאַל־תּוֹתַרyou shall not excelכִּיbecauseעָלִיתָyou went upמִשְׁכְּבֵיthe beds ofאָבִיךָyour fatherאָזthenחִלַּלְתָּyou defiled itיְצוּעִיmy couchעָלָה׃he went up

   Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

5. 5

   שִׁמְעוֹןSimeonוְלֵוִיand Leviאַחִיםbrothersכְּלֵיvessels ofחָמָסviolenceמְכֵרֹתֵיהֶם׃their swords

   Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.

6. 6

   בְּסֹדָםinto their councilאַל־תָּבֹאlet not comeנַפְשִׁיmy soulבִּקְהָלָםto their assemblyאַל־תֵּחַדlet not be unitedכְּבֹדִיmy honorכִּיforבְאַפָּםin their angerהָרְגוּhad slainאִישׁa manוּבִרְצֹנָםand in their selfwillעִקְּרוּ־שׁוֹר׃they houghed an ox

   O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.

   אָרוּרcursed isאַפָּםtheir angerכִּיbecauseעָזfierceוְעֶבְרָתָםand their wrathכִּיbecauseקָשָׁתָהit was cruelאֲחַלְּקֵםI will divide themבְּיַעֲקֹבin Jacobוַאֲפִיצֵםand I will scatter themבְּיִשְׂרָאֵל׃in Israel

   Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

8. 8

   יְהוּדָהJudahאַתָּהyouיוֹדוּךָthey will praise youאַחֶיךָyour brothersיָדְךָyour handבְּעֹרֶףin the neck ofאֹיְבֶיךָyour enemiesיִשְׁתַּחֲווּshall bow downלְךָto youבְּנֵיthe sons ofאָבִיךָ׃your father

   Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.

9. 9

   גּוּרa whelp ofאַרְיֵהa lionיְהוּדָהJudahמִטֶּרֶףfrom preyבְּנִיmy sonעָלִיתָyou are gone upכָּרַעhe stooped downרָבַץhe couchedכְּאַרְיֵהas a lionוּכְלָבִיאand as an old lionמִיwhoיְקִימֶנּוּ׃shall rouse him up

   Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

10. 10

    לֹא־יָסוּרnot shall be taken awayשֵׁבֶטthe scepterמִיהוּדָהfrom Judahוּמְחֹקֵקand a ruler's staffמִבֵּיןfrom betweenרַגְלָיוhis feetעַדuntilכִּי־יָבֹאbecause shall comeשִׁילֹהShilohוְלוֹand unto himיִקְּהַתthe obedience ofעַמִּים׃peoples

    The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

11. 11

    אֹסְרִיbindingלַגֶּפֶןto the vineעִירֹהhis foalוְלַשֹּׂרֵקָהand to the choice vineבְּנִיmy sonאֲתֹנוֹhis donkeyכִּבֵּסhe washedבַּיַּיִןin the wineלְבֻשׁוֹhis garmentsוּבְדַם־עֲנָבִיםand in the blood of grapesסוּתֹה׃his clothes

    Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:

12. 12

    חַכְלִילִיreddened areעֵינַיִםhis eyesמִיָּיִןfrom wineוּלְבֶן־שִׁנַּיִםand whitened are his teethמֵחָלָב׃from milk

    His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

13. 13

    זְבוּלֻןZebulunלְחוֹףto the shore ofיַמִּיםseasיִשְׁכֹּןshall dwellוְהוּאand heלְחוֹףto the shore ofאֳנִיֹּתshipsוְיַרְכָתוֹand his borderעַל־צִידֹן׃upon Zidon

    Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.

14. 14

    יִשָּׂשכָרIssacharחֲמֹרa donkey ofגָּרֶםstrong bonesרֹבֵץhe restsבֵּיןbetweenהַמִּשְׁפְּתָיִם׃the boundaries

    Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:

15. 15

    וַיַּרְאand sawמְנֻחָהa resting placeכִּיbecauseטוֹבgoodוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץand the landכִּיbecauseנָעֵמָהit was pleasantוַיֵּטand bowedשִׁכְמוֹhis shoulderלִסְבֹּלto bearוַיְהִיand it came to passלְמַס־עֹבֵד׃a servant unto tribute

    And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.

16. 16

    דָּןDanיָדִיןhe will judgeעַמּוֹhis peopleכְּאַחַדas oneשִׁבְטֵיtribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.

17. 17

    יְהִי־דָןlet this be Danנָחָשׁthe serpentעֲלֵי־דֶרֶךְby the wayשְׁפִיפֹןa viperעֲלֵי־אֹרַחin the pathהַנֹּשֵׁךְthe one which bitesעִקְּבֵי־סוּסthe heels of a horseוַיִּפֹּלand fellרֹכְבוֹhis riderאָחוֹר׃backward

    Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

18. 18

    לִישׁוּעָתְךָfor your salvationקִוִּיתִיI had hopedיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.

19. 19

    גָּדGadגְּדוּדtroopיְגוּדֶנּוּshall overcome himוְהוּאand heיָגֻדshall overcomeעָקֵב׃at the last

    Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.

20. 20

    מֵאָשֵׁרfrom Asherשְׁמֵנָהfat shall beלַחְמוֹhis breadוְהוּאand heיִתֵּןshall giveמַעֲדַנֵּי־מֶלֶךְ׃royal dainties

    Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.

21. 21

    נַפְתָּלִיNaphtaliאַיָּלָהa hindשְׁלֻחָהlet looseהַנֹּתֵןhe givesאִמְרֵי־שָׁפֶר׃goodly words

    Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.

22. 22

    בֵּןa sonפֹּרָתfruitfulיוֹסֵףJosephבֵּןa sonפֹּרָתfruitfulעֲלֵי־עָיִןby a wellבָּנוֹתwhose branchesצָעֲדָהrunעֲלֵי־שׁוּר׃over the wall

    Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

23. 23

    וַיְמָרְרֻהוּand have sorely grieved himוָרֹבּוּand they shotוַיִּשְׂטְמֻהוּand hated himבַּעֲלֵיthe masters ofחִצִּים׃arrows

    The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

24. 24

    וַתֵּשֶׁבbut abodeבְּאֵיתָןin strengthקַשְׁתּוֹhis bowוַיָּפֹזּוּand were made strongזְרֹעֵיthe arms ofיָדָיוhis handsמִידֵיby the hands ofאֲבִירMighty One ofיַעֲקֹבJacobמִשָּׁםfrom thereרֹעֶהshepherdאֶבֶןstoneיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

25. 25

    מֵאֵלby the God ofאָבִיךָyour fatherוְיַעְזְרֶךָּand he will help youוְאֵתandשַׁדַּיAlmightyוִיבָרְכֶךָּand he will bless youבִּרְכֹתblessings ofשָׁמַיִםthe heavensמֵעָלaboveבִּרְכֹתblessings ofתְּהוֹםthe deepרֹבֶצֶתthat liesתָּחַתbeneathבִּרְכֹתblessings ofשָׁדַיִםbreastsוָרָחַם׃and womb

    Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

26. 26

    בִּרְכֹתblessings ofאָבִיךָyour fatherגָּבְרוּhave prevailedעַל־בִּרְכֹתupon blessings ofהוֹרַיmy progenitorsעַד־תַּאֲוַתunto the utmost bound ofגִּבְעֹתhills ofעוֹלָםeverlastingתִּהְיֶיןָthey will beלְרֹאשׁthe head ofיוֹסֵףJosephוּלְקׇדְקֹדand on the crown of the head ofנְזִירhim that was separate fromאֶחָיו׃his brethren

    The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

27. 27

    בִּנְיָמִיןBenjaminזְאֵבthe wolfיִטְרָףshall ravinבַּבֹּקֶרin the morningיֹאכַלhe shall eatעַדthe preyוְלָעֶרֶבand at nightיְחַלֵּקhe shall divideשָׁלָל׃the spoil

    Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.

28. 28

    כׇּל־אֵלֶּהall theseשִׁבְטֵיtribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרtwelveוְזֹאתand thisאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרwhich spokeלָהֶםto themאֲבִיהֶםtheir fatherוַיְבָרֶךְand blessedאוֹתָםthemאִישׁeachאֲשֶׁרwhichכְּבִרְכָתוֹaccording to his blessingבֵּרַךְblessedאֹתָם׃them

    All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.

29. 29

    וַיְצַוand commandedאוֹתָםthemוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵהֶםunto themאֲנִיIנֶאֱסָףam about to be gatheredאֶל־עַמִּיunto my peopleקִבְרוּburyאֹתִיmeאֶל־אֲבֹתָיwith my fathersאֶל־הַמְּעָרָהto the caveאֲשֶׁרwhichבִּשְׂדֵהin the field ofעֶפְרוֹןEphronהַחִתִּי׃the Hittite

    And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

30. 30

    בַּמְּעָרָהin the caveאֲשֶׁרwhichבִּשְׂדֵהin the field ofהַמַּכְפֵּלָהthe Machpelahאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־פְּנֵי־מַמְרֵאupon the face of Mamreבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofכְּנָעַןCanaanאֲשֶׁרwhichקָנָהhe acquiredאַבְרָהָםAbrahamאֶת־הַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldמֵאֵתfromעֶפְרֹןEphronהַחִתִּיthe Hittiteלַאֲחֻזַּת־קָבֶר׃to a possession of a burial site

    In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.

31. 31

    שָׁמָּהthereקָבְרוּthey buriedאֶת־אַבְרָהָםAbrahamוְאֵתandשָׂרָהSarahאִשְׁתּוֹhis wifeשָׁמָּהthereקָבְרוּthey buriedאֶת־יִצְחָקIsaacוְאֵתandרִבְקָהRebekahאִשְׁתּוֹhis wifeוְשָׁמָּהand thereקָבַרְתִּיI buriedאֶת־לֵאָה׃Leah

    There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.

32. 32

    מִקְנֵהthe purchase ofהַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldוְהַמְּעָרָהand the caveאֲשֶׁר־בּוֹthat is in itמֵאֵתfromבְּנֵי־חֵת׃sons of Heth

    The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.

33. 33

    וַיְכַלand had made an end ofיַעֲקֹבJacobלְצַוֺּתto commandאֶת־בָּנָיוhis sonsוַיֶּאֱסֹףand gatheredרַגְלָיוhis feetאֶל־הַמִּטָּהto the bedוַיִּגְוַעand he gave up the ghostוַיֵּאָסֶףand he was gatheredאֶל־עַמָּיו׃unto his people

    And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
