וְלֹא־יָכֹלand could notיוֹסֵףJosephלְהִתְאַפֵּקto restrain himselfלְכֹלfor allהַנִּצָּבִיםthat stoodעָלָיוupon himוַיִּקְרָאand calledהוֹצִיאוּcause to go outכׇל־אִישׁevery manמֵעָלָיfrom meוְלֹא־עָמַדand not stoodאִישׁany manאִתּוֹwith himבְּהִתְוַדַּעwhen made himself knownיוֹסֵףJosephאֶל־אֶחָיו׃to his brethren
Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

וַיִּתֵּןand gaveאֶת־קֹלוֹhis voiceבִּבְכִיin weepingוַיִּשְׁמְעוּand they heardמִצְרַיִםEgyptוַיִּשְׁמַעand heardבֵּיתthe house ofפַּרְעֹה׃Pharaoh
And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיוֹסֵףJosephאֶל־אֶחָיוto his brethrenאֲנִיIיוֹסֵףJosephהַעוֹדis there yetאָבִיmy fatherחָיaliveוְלֹא־יָכְלוּand not could theyאֶחָיוhis brethrenלַעֲנוֹתto answerאֹתוֹhimכִּיforנִבְהֲלוּthey were troubledמִפָּנָיו׃from before him
And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיוֹסֵףJosephאֶל־אֶחָיוto his brethrenגְּשׁוּ־נָאdraw near I prayאֵלַיto meוַיִּגָּשׁוּand they drew nearוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲנִיIיוֹסֵףJosephאֲחִיכֶםyour brotherאֲשֶׁר־מְכַרְתֶּםwhich you soldאֹתִיmeמִצְרָיְמָה׃to Egypt
And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

וְעַתָּהand nowאַל־תֵּעָצְבוּdo not be grievedוְאַל־יִחַרnor angryבְּעֵינֵיכֶםin your eyesכִּי־מְכַרְתֶּםbecause you soldאֹתִיmeהֵנָּהhitherכִּיforלְמִחְיָהfor preservation of lifeשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֱלֹהִיםGodלִפְנֵיכֶם׃before you
Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

כִּי־זֶהfor theseשְׁנָתַיִםtwo yearsהָרָעָבthe famineבְּקֶרֶבin the midst ofהָאָרֶץthe landוְעוֹדand againחָמֵשׁfiveשָׁנִיםyearsאֲשֶׁרwhichאֵין־חָרִישׁthere shall be neither plowingוְקָצִיר׃and harvest
For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.

וַיִּשְׁלָחֵנִיand has sent meאֱלֹהִיםGodלִפְנֵיכֶםbefore youלָשׂוּםto preserveלָכֶםto youשְׁאֵרִיתremnant ofבָּאָרֶץin the landוּלְהַחֲיוֹתand to preserve aliveלָכֶםto youלִפְלֵיטָהby a deliveranceגְּדֹלָה׃great
And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

וְעַתָּהand nowלֹא־אַתֶּםnot youשְׁלַחְתֶּםyou sentאֹתִיmeהֵנָּהhitherכִּיthatהָאֱלֹהִיםthe Godוַיְשִׂימֵנִיand has made meלְאָבa fatherלְפַרְעֹהfor Pharaohוּלְאָדוֹןand lordלְכׇל־בֵּיתוֹto all his houseוּמֹשֵׁלand a rulerבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

מַהֲרוּhurryוַעֲלוּand go upאֶל־אָבִיto my fatherוַאֲמַרְתֶּםand you shall sayאֵלָיוto himכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidבִּנְךָyour sonיוֹסֵףJosephשָׂמַנִיhas made meאֱלֹהִיםGodלְאָדוֹןlordלְכׇל־מִצְרָיִםto all Egyptרְדָהcome downאֵלַיto meאַל־תַּעֲמֹד׃do not tarry
Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:

וְיָשַׁבְתָּand you shall dwellבְאֶרֶץ־גֹּשֶׁןin the land of Goshenוְהָיִיתָand you shall beקָרוֹבnearאֵלַיto meאַתָּהyouוּבָנֶיךָand your sonsוּבְנֵיand sons ofבָנֶיךָyour sonsוְצֹאנְךָand your flocksוּבְקָרְךָand your herdsוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לָךְ׃and all that you have
And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:

וְכִלְכַּלְתִּיand I will nourishאֹתְךָyouשָׁםthereכִּי־עוֹדfor yetחָמֵשׁfiveשָׁנִיםyearsרָעָבof famineפֶּן־תִּוָּרֵשׁlest you should become impoverishedאַתָּהyouוּבֵיתְךָand your householdוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לָךְ׃and all that you have
And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.

וְהִנֵּהand beholdעֵינֵיכֶםyour eyesרֹאוֹתare seeingוְעֵינֵיand the eyes ofאָחִיmy brotherבִנְיָמִיןBenjaminכִּי־פִיbecause my mouthהַמְדַבֵּרthat speaksאֲלֵיכֶם׃unto you
And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.

וְהִגַּדְתֶּםand you will tellלְאָבִיfor my fatherאֶת־כׇּל־כְּבוֹדִיall my gloryבְּמִצְרַיִםin Egyptוְאֵתandכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall thatרְאִיתֶםyou sawוּמִהַרְתֶּםand you shall hasteוְהוֹרַדְתֶּםand you will cause to go downאֶת־אָבִיmy fatherהֵנָּה׃hither
And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.

וַיִּפֹּלand fellעַל־צַוְּארֵיupon the neck ofבִנְיָמִן־אָחִיוBenjamin his brotherוַיֵּבְךְּand he weptוּבִנְיָמִןand Benjaminבָּכָהweptעַל־צַוָּארָיו׃upon his neck
And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

וַיְנַשֵּׁקand kissedלְכׇל־אֶחָיוto all his brethrenוַיֵּבְךְּand he weptעֲלֵהֶםupon themוְאַחֲרֵיand afterכֵןthatדִּבְּרוּhave spokenאֶחָיוhis brethrenאִתּוֹ׃with him
Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.

וְהַקֹּלand the reportנִשְׁמַעwas heardבֵּיתthe house ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohלֵאמֹרsayingבָּאוּcameאֲחֵיthe brethren ofיוֹסֵףJosephוַיִּיטַבand it was goodבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofפַרְעֹהPharaohוּבְעֵינֵיand in the eyes ofעֲבָדָיו׃his servants
And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.

וַיֹּאמֶרand saidפַּרְעֹהPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףto Josephאֱמֹרsayאֶל־אַחֶיךָto your brothersזֹאתthisעֲשׂוּdoטַעֲנוּloadאֶת־בְּעִירְכֶםyour beastsוּלְכוּ־בֹאוּand go get youאַרְצָהto the earthכְּנָעַן׃Canaan
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;

וּקְחוּand fetchאֶת־אֲבִיכֶםyour fatherוְאֶת־בָּתֵּיכֶםand your householdsוּבֹאוּand comeאֵלָיunto meוְאֶתְּנָהand I will giveלָכֶםto youאֶת־טוּבthe good ofאֶרֶץthe land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptוְאִכְלוּand you shall eatאֶת־חֵלֶבthe fat ofהָאָרֶץ׃the land
And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.

וְאַתָּהand youצֻוֵּיתָהyou are commandedזֹאתthisעֲשׂוּdoקְחוּ־לָכֶםtake for yourselvesמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptעֲגָלוֹתcartsלְטַפְּכֶםfor your little onesוְלִנְשֵׁיכֶםand for your wivesוּנְשָׂאתֶםand you will carryאֶת־אֲבִיכֶםyour fatherוּבָאתֶם׃and come
Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.

וְעֵינְכֶםand your eyeאַל־תָּחֹסdo not regardעַל־כְּלֵיכֶםupon your stuffכִּי־טוּבfor the good ofכׇּל־אֶרֶץall land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptלָכֶםto youהוּא׃is
Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
- 21
וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵןand they did thusבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוַיִּתֵּןand gaveלָהֶםto themיוֹסֵףJosephעֲגָלוֹתcartsעַל־פִּיaccording toפַרְעֹהPharaohוַיִּתֵּןand gaveלָהֶםto themצֵדָהprovisionsלַדָּרֶךְ׃for the way
And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.

לְכֻלָּםto all of themנָתַןhe gaveלָאִישׁto each manחֲלִפוֹתchanges ofשְׂמָלֹתclothesוּלְבִנְיָמִןand to Benjaminנָתַןhe gaveשְׁלֹשׁthreeמֵאוֹתhundredכֶּסֶףof silverוְחָמֵשׁand fiveחֲלִפֹתchanges ofשְׂמָלֹת׃clothes
To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.

וּלְאָבִיוand to his fatherשָׁלַחsentכְּזֹאתafter this mannerעֲשָׂרָהtenחֲמֹרִיםdonkeysנֹשְׂאִיםbearingמִטּוּבof the good things ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוְעֶשֶׂרand tenאֲתֹנֹתfemale donkeysנֹשְׂאֹתcarryingבָּרgrainוָלֶחֶםand breadוּמָזוֹןand nourishmentלְאָבִיוfor his fatherלַדָּרֶךְ׃for the way
And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.

וַיְשַׁלַּחand sentאֶת־אֶחָיוhis brethrenוַיֵּלֵכוּand they wentוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵהֶםunto themאַל־תִּרְגְּזוּdo not fall outבַּדָּרֶךְ׃by the way
So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.

וַיַּעֲלוּand they ascendedמִמִּצְרָיִםfrom Egyptוַיָּבֹאוּand they cameאֶרֶץto the land ofכְּנַעַןCanaanאֶל־יַעֲקֹבto Jacobאֲבִיהֶם׃their father
And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
- 26
וַיַּגִּדוּand they toldלוֹto himלֵאמֹרsayingעוֹדyetיוֹסֵףJosephחַיlivingוְכִי־הוּאand if he isמֹשֵׁלrulerבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוַיָּפׇגand faintedלִבּוֹhis heartכִּיforלֹא־הֶאֱמִיןnot has believedלָהֶם׃to them
And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.

וַיְדַבְּרוּand spokeאֵלָיוto himאֵת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵיall the words ofיוֹסֵףJosephאֲשֶׁרwhichדִּבֶּרspokeאֲלֵהֶםunto themוַיַּרְאand sawאֶת־הָעֲגָלוֹתthe cartsאֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַחwhich sentיוֹסֵףJosephלָשֵׂאתto carryאֹתוֹhimוַתְּחִיand revivedרוּחַthe spirit ofיַעֲקֹבJacobאֲבִיהֶם׃their father
And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
- 28
וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelרַבit is enoughעוֹד־יוֹסֵףJoseph is yetבְּנִיmy sonחָיaliveאֵלְכָהI will goוְאֶרְאֶנּוּthat I may see himבְּטֶרֶםbeforeאָמוּת׃I shall die
And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.
