   וְהָרָעָבve/ha/ra/AVand the famineכָּבֵדka/VEDwas soreבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the land

   And the famine was sore in the land.

2. 2

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenכִּלּוּkil/LUthey had eaten upלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLeatingאֶת־הַשֶּׁבֶרet-hash/SHE/verthe grainאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵבִיאוּhe/VI/uthey had broughtמִמִּצְרָיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimfrom Egyptוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֲבִיהֶםa/vi/HEMtheir fatherשֻׁבוּSHU/vugo againשִׁבְרוּ־לָנוּshiv/RU-LA/nubuy usמְעַט־אֹכֶל׃me/AT-O/khela little food

   And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהָעֵדha/EDprotestהֵעִדhe/IDdid protestבָּנוּBA/nuto usהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־תִרְאוּlo-tir/Uyou shall not seeפָנַיfa/NAYmy faceבִּלְתִּיbil/TIunlessאֲחִיכֶםa/chi/KHEMyour brotherאִתְּכֶם׃it/te/KHEMbe with you

   And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

   אִם־יֶשְׁךָim-yesh/KHAif you willמְשַׁלֵּחַme/shal/LE/achsendאֶת־אָחִינוּet-a/CHI/nuour brotherאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usנֵרְדָהner/DAlet us go downוְנִשְׁבְּרָהve/nish/be/RAand buyלְךָle/KHAfor youאֹכֶל׃O/khelfood

   If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:

   וְאִם־אֵינְךָve/IM-e/ne/KHAbut if you will notמְשַׁלֵּחַme/shal/LE/achsendלֹאlonotנֵרֵדne/REDshall we go downכִּי־הָאִישׁki-ha/ISHfor the manאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usלֹא־תִרְאוּlo-tir/Uyou shall not seeפָנַיfa/NAYmy faceבִּלְתִּיbil/TIunlessאֲחִיכֶםa/chi/KHEMyour brotherאִתְּכֶם׃it/te/KHEMbe with you

   But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלָמָהla/MAwhereforeהֲרֵעֹתֶםha/re/o/TEMdid you deal so illלִיliwith meלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto tellלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manהַעוֹדha/ODis there yetלָכֶםla/KHEMyou haveאָח׃acha brother

   And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidשָׁאוֹלsha/OLaskשָׁאַל־הָאִישׁsha/AL-ha/ISHthe man askedלָנוּLA/nuof usוּלְמוֹלַדְתֵּנוּu/le/mo/lad/TE/nuand of our kindredלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַעוֹדha/ODis there yetאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherחַיchayaliveהֲיֵשׁha/YESHis thereלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאָחacha brotherוַנַּגֶּד־לוֹvan/NAG/ged-loand we told himעַל־פִּיal-piaccording toהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseהֲיָדוֹעַha/ya/DO/aknowנֵדַעne/DAcould we knowכִּיkithatיֹאמַרyo/MARhe would sayהוֹרִידוּho/RI/dubring downאֶת־אֲחִיכֶם׃et-a/chi/KHEMyour brother

   And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵלel-Yis/ra/ELto Israelאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherשִׁלְחָהshil/CHAsendהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe ladאִתִּיit/TIwith meוְנָקוּמָהve/na/KU/maand we will ariseוְנֵלֵכָהve/ne/LE/khaand goוְנִחְיֶהve/nich/YEthat we may liveוְלֹאve/LOand notנָמוּתna/MUTdieגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuboth weגַם־אַתָּהgam-at/TAand youגַּם־טַפֵּנוּ׃gam-tap/PE/nuand also our little ones

   And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones.

9. 9

   אָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIאֶעֶרְבֶנּוּe/er/VEN/nuwill be surety for himמִיָּדִיmiy/ya/DIof my handתְּבַקְשֶׁנּוּte/vak/SHEN/nushall you require himאִם־לֹאim-loif notהֲבִיאֹתִיוha/vi/o/TIVI bring himאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוְהִצַּגְתִּיוve/hits/tsag/TIVand set himלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוְחָטָאתִיve/cha/TA/tithen let me bear the blameלְךָle/KHAto youכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMfor ever

   I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:

10. 10

    כִּיkiforלוּלֵאlu/LEexceptהִתְמַהְמָהְנוּhit/mah/MAH/nuwe had lingeredכִּי־עַתָּהki-at/TAsurely nowשַׁבְנוּSHAV/nuwe had returnedזֶהzethisפַעֲמָיִם׃fa/a/MA/yimtwice

    For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

11. 11

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲבִיהֶםa/vi/HEMtheir fatherאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soאֵפוֹאe/FOnowזֹאתzotthisעֲשׂוּa/SUdoקְחוּke/CHUtakeמִזִּמְרַתmiz/zim/RATof the best fruits ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landבִּכְלֵיכֶםbikh/le/KHEMin your vesselsוְהוֹרִידוּve/ho/RI/duand carry downלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manמִנְחָהmin/CHAa presentמְעַטme/ATa littleצֳרִיtso/RIbalmוּמְעַטu/me/ATand a littleדְּבַשׁde/VASHhoneyנְכֹאתne/KHOTspicesוָלֹטva/LOTand myrrhבׇּטְנִיםbot/NIMnutsוּשְׁקֵדִים׃u/she/ke/DIMand almonds

    And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

12. 12

    וְכֶסֶףve/KHE/sefand moneyמִשְׁנֶהmish/NEdoubleקְחוּke/CHUtakeבְיֶדְכֶםve/yed/KHEMin your handוְאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףve/ET-hak/KE/sefand the moneyהַמּוּשָׁבham/mu/SHAVthat was brought againבְּפִיbe/FIin the mouth ofאַמְתְּחֹתֵיכֶםam/te/cho/te/KHEMyour sacksתָּשִׁיבוּta/SHI/vucarry backבְיֶדְכֶםve/yed/KHEMin your handאוּלַיu/LAYperhapsמִשְׁגֶּהmish/GEan oversightהוּא׃huit was

    And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight:

13. 13

    וְאֶת־אֲחִיכֶםve/ET-a/chi/KHEMand your brotherקָחוּKA/chutakeוְקוּמוּve/KU/muand ariseשׁוּבוּSHU/vureturnאֶל־הָאִישׁ׃el-ha/ISHto the man

    Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:

14. 14

    וְאֵלve/ELand GodשַׁדַּיShad/DAYAlmightyיִתֵּןyit/TENgiveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouרַחֲמִיםra/cha/MIMmercyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manוְשִׁלַּחve/shil/LACHthat he may send awayלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאֶת־אֲחִיכֶםet-a/chi/KHEMyour brotherאַחֵרa/CHERotherוְאֶת־בִּנְיָמִיןve/ET-bin/ya/MINand Benjaminוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERifשָׁכֹלְתִּיsha/KHOL/tiI am bereavedשָׁכָלְתִּי׃sha/KHAL/tiI have been bereaved

    And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

15. 15

    וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand tookהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֶת־הַמִּנְחָהet-ham/min/CHAthe presentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּמִשְׁנֶה־כֶּסֶףu/mish/NE-KE/sefand double moneyלָקְחוּla/ke/CHUthey tookבְיָדָםve/ya/DAMin their handוְאֶת־בִּנְיָמִןve/ET-bin/ya/MINand Benjaminוַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand rose upוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand went downמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimto Egyptוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיוֹסֵף׃Yo/SEFJoseph

    And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

16. 16

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאִתָּםit/TAMwith themאֶת־בִּנְיָמִיןet-Bin/ya/MINBenjaminוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto the one who wasעַל־בֵּיתוֹal-be/TOover his houseהָבֵאha/VEbringאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menהַבָּיְתָהhab/BAY/tahomeוּטְבֹחַu/te/VO/achand slayטֶבַחTE/vacha beastוְהָכֵןve/ha/KHENand make readyכִּיkiforאִתִּיit/TIwith meיֹאכְלוּyo/khe/LUshall eatהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menבַּצׇּהֳרָיִם׃bats/tso/ho/RA/yimat noon

    And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon.

17. 17

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרa/MARsaidיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menבֵּיתָהBE/tainto the house ofיוֹסֵף׃Yo/SEFJoseph

    And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house.

18. 18

    וַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand were afraidהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menכִּיkibecauseהוּבְאוּhuv/Uthey were broughtבֵּיתbetinto the house ofיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARbecause ofהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefthe moneyהַשָּׁבhash/SHAVthat was returnedבְּאַמְתְּחֹתֵינוּbe/am/te/cho/TE/nuin our sacksבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the firstאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weמוּבָאִיםmu/va/IMbrought inלְהִתְגֹּלֵלle/hit/go/LELthat he may seek occasionעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוּלְהִתְנַפֵּלu/le/hit/nap/PELand fall uponעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוְלָקַחַתve/la/KA/chatand takeאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלַעֲבָדִיםla/a/va/DIMfor bondmenוְאֶת־חֲמֹרֵינוּ׃ve/ET-cha/mo/RE/nuand our donkeys

    And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.

19. 19

    וַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUand they came nearאֶל־הָאִישׁel-ha/ISHto the manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wasעַל־בֵּיתal-betover the house ofיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand they spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himפֶּתַחPE/tachat the door ofהַבָּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

    And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidבִּיbiOאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordיָרֹדya/RODcome downיָרַדְנוּya/RAD/nuwe came downבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the firstלִשְׁבׇּר־אֹכֶל׃lish/BOR-O/khelto buy food

    And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:

21. 21

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּי־בָאנוּki-VA/nuwhen we cameאֶל־הַמָּלוֹןel-ham/ma/LONto the lodging placeוַנִּפְתְּחָהvan/nif/te/CHAand we openedאֶת־אַמְתְּחֹתֵינוּet-am/te/cho/TE/nuour sacksוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכֶסֶף־אִישׁKHE/sef-ishevery man's moneyבְּפִיbe/FIin the mouth ofאַמְתַּחְתּוֹam/tach/TOhis sackכַּסְפֵּנוּkas/PE/nuour moneyבְּמִשְׁקָלוֹbe/mish/ka/LOin full weightוַנָּשֶׁבvan/NA/shevand we have brought againאֹתוֹo/TOitבְּיָדֵנוּ׃be/ya/DE/nuin our hand

    And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

22. 22

    וְכֶסֶףve/KHE/sefand moneyאַחֵרa/CHERotherהוֹרַדְנוּho/RAD/nuwe have brought downבְיָדֵנוּve/ya/DE/nuin our handלִשְׁבׇּר־אֹכֶלlish/BOR-O/khelto buy foodלֹאlonotיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowמִי־שָׂםmi-samwho putכַּסְפֵּנוּkas/PE/nuour moneyבְּאַמְתְּחֹתֵינוּ׃be/am/te/cho/TE/nuin our sacks

    And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeace beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאַל־תִּירָאוּal-ti/RA/ufear notאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוֵאלֹהֵיve/lo/HEand the God ofאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherנָתַןna/TANhas givenלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמַטְמוֹןmat/MONtreasureבְּאַמְתְּחֹתֵיכֶםbe/am/te/cho/te/KHEMin your sacksכַּסְפְּכֶםkas/pe/KHEMyour moneyבָּאbacameאֵלָיe/LAYto meוַיּוֹצֵאvay/yo/TSEand he brought outאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹן׃et-Shim/ONSimeon

    And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

24. 24

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menבֵּיתָהBE/tainto the house ofיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיִּתֶּן־מַיִםvay/YIT/ten-MA/yimand gave waterוַיִּרְחֲצוּvay/yir/cha/TSUand they washedרַגְלֵיהֶםrag/le/HEMtheir feetוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveמִסְפּוֹאmis/POprovenderלַחֲמֹרֵיהֶם׃la/cha/mo/re/HEMto their donkeys

    And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses provender.

25. 25

    וַיָּכִינוּvay/ya/KHI/nuand they preparedאֶת־הַמִּנְחָהet-ham/min/CHAthe presentעַד־בּוֹאad-boagainst cameיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephבַּצׇּהֳרָיִםbats/tso/ho/RA/yimat noonכִּיkiforשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey heardכִּי־שָׁםki-shamthat thereיֹאכְלוּyo/khe/LUthey should eatלָחֶם׃LA/chembread

    And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.

26. 26

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephהַבַּיְתָהhab/BAY/tahomeוַיָּבִיאּוּvay/ya/VI/uand they broughtלוֹloto himאֶת־הַמִּנְחָהet-ham/min/CHAthe presentאֲשֶׁר־בְּיָדָםa/SHER-be/ya/DAMwhich was in their handהַבָּיְתָהhab/BAY/tainto the houseוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לוֹvay/yish/ta/cha/VU-loand bowed themselves to himאָרְצָה׃AR/tsato the ground

    And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

27. 27

    וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand askedלָהֶםla/HEMthemלְשָׁלוֹםle/sha/LOMof their welfareוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהֲשָׁלוֹםha/sha/LOMis wellאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherהַזָּקֵןhaz/za/KENthe old manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomאֲמַרְתֶּםa/mar/TEMyou spokeהַעוֹדֶנּוּha/o/DEN/nuis he yetחָי׃chayalive

    And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive?

28. 28

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMis wellלְעַבְדְּךָle/av/de/KHAwith your servantלְאָבִינוּle/a/VI/nuour fatherעוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuhe is yetחָיchayaliveוַיִּקְּדוּvay/yik/ke/DUand they bowed their heads(וישתחו)vayashatachav[וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ]׃vay/yish/ta/cha/VUand made obeisance

    And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.

29. 29

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he lifted upעֵינָיוe/NAYVhis eyesוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־בִּנְיָמִיןet-Bin/ya/MINBenjaminאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherבֶּן־אִמּוֹben-im/MOhis mother's sonוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהֲזֶהha/ZEis thisאֲחִיכֶםa/chi/KHEMyour brotherהַקָּטֹןhak/ka/TONthe youngestאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomאֲמַרְתֶּםa/mar/TEMyou spokeאֵלָיe/LAYto meוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיׇחְנְךָyoch/ne/KHAbe gracious to youבְּנִי׃be/NImy son

    And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.

30. 30

    וַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand made hasteיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephכִּי־נִכְמְרוּki-nikh/me/RUfor yearnedרַחֲמָיוra/cha/MAYVhis bowelsאֶל־אָחִיוel-a/CHIVupon his brotherוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand soughtלִבְכּוֹתliv/KOTto weepוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand enteredהַחַדְרָהha/CHAD/rainto the chamberוַיֵּבְךְּvay/YEVKand weptשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

31. 31

    וַיִּרְחַץvay/yir/CHATSand he washedפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outוַיִּתְאַפַּקvay/yit/ap/PAKand refrained himselfוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidשִׂימוּSI/muset onלָחֶם׃LA/chembread

    And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

32. 32

    וַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they set onלוֹlofor himלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOby himselfוְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand for themלְבַדָּםle/vad/DAMby themselvesוְלַמִּצְרִיםve/Lam/mits/RIMand for the Egyptiansהָאֹכְלִיםha/okh/LIMwho did eatאִתּוֹit/TOwith himלְבַדָּםle/vad/DAMby themselvesכִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotיוּכְלוּןyukh/LUNcouldהַמִּצְרִיםham/Mits/RIMthe Egyptiansלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatאֶת־הָעִבְרִיםet-Ha/iv/RIMthe HebrewsלֶחֶםLE/chembreadכִּי־תוֹעֵבָהki-to/e/VAfor an abominationהִואhivthat isלְמִצְרָיִם׃le/Mits/RA/yimto the Egyptians

    And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

    וַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand they satלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himהַבְּכֹרhab/be/KHORthe firstbornכִּבְכֹרָתוֹkiv/kho/ra/TOaccording to his birthrightוְהַצָּעִירve/hats/tsa/IRand the youngerכִּצְעִרָתוֹkits/i/ra/TOaccording to his youthוַיִּתְמְהוּvay/yit/me/HUand marveledהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאִישׁishoneאֶל־רֵעֵהוּ׃el-re/E/huat another

    And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another.

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he tookמַשְׂאֹתmas/OTportionsמֵאֵתme/ETfromפָּנָיוpa/NAYVbefore himאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַתֵּרֶבvat/TE/revbut wasמַשְׂאַתmas/ATthe portion ofבִּנְיָמִןBin/ya/MINBenjaminמִמַּשְׂאֹתmim/mas/OTthan the portions ofכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveיָדוֹתya/DOTtimesוַיִּשְׁתּוּvay/yish/TUand they drankוַיִּשְׁכְּרוּvay/yish/ke/RUand were merryעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.
