   And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמִן־הַיְאֹרmin-Hay/ORout of the Nileעֹלֹתo/LOTcame upשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפָּרוֹתpa/ROTcowsיְפוֹתye/FOTfair ofמַרְאֶהmar/Eappearanceוּבְרִיאֹתu/ve/ri/OTand fat ofבָּשָׂרba/SARfleshוַתִּרְעֶינָהvat/tir/E/naand they fedבָּאָחוּ׃ba/A/chuin the reed grass

   And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפָּרוֹתpa/ROTcowsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherעֹלוֹתo/LOTcame upאַחֲרֵיהֶןa/cha/re/HENafter themמִן־הַיְאֹרmin-Hay/ORout of the Nileרָעוֹתra/OTill ofמַרְאֶהmar/Eappearanceוְדַקּוֹתve/dak/KOTand lean ofבָּשָׂרba/SARfleshוַתַּעֲמֹדְנָהvat/ta/a/MOD/naand they stoodאֵצֶלE/tselbesideהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsעַל־שְׂפַתal-se/FATupon the bank ofהַיְאֹר׃Hay/ORthe Nile

   And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

   וַתֹּאכַלְנָהvat/to/KHAL/naand they ateהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsרָעוֹתra/OTill ofהַמַּרְאֶהham/mar/Eappearanceוְדַקֹּתve/dak/KOTand lean ofהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARfleshאֵת־שֶׁבַעet-SHE/vasevenהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsיְפֹתye/FOTfair ofהַמַּרְאֶהham/mar/Eappearanceוְהַבְּרִיאֹתve/hab/be/ri/OTand the fatוַיִּיקַץvay/yi/KATSand awokeפַּרְעֹה׃Par/OPharaoh

   And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

   וַיִּישָׁןvay/yi/SHANand he sleptוַיַּחֲלֹםvay/ya/cha/LOMand he dreamedשֵׁנִיתshe/NITa second timeוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשִׁבֳּלִיםshib/bo/LIMears of grainעֹלוֹתo/LOTcame upבְּקָנֶהbe/ka/NEon stalkאֶחָדe/CHADoneבְּרִיאוֹתbe/ri/OTfatוְטֹבוֹת׃ve/to/VOTand good

   And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשִׁבֳּלִיםshib/bo/LIMears of grainדַּקּוֹתdak/KOTthinוּשְׁדוּפֹתu/she/du/FOTand blasted byקָדִיםka/DIMthe east windצֹמְחוֹתtsom/CHOTsprang upאַחֲרֵיהֶן׃a/cha/re/HENafter them

   And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

   וַתִּבְלַעְנָהvat/tiv/LA/naand swallowed upהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהַדַּקּוֹתhad/dak/KOTthe thinאֵת־שֶׁבַעet-SHE/vasevenהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהַבְּרִיאוֹתhab/be/ri/OTthe fatוְהַמְּלֵאוֹתve/ham/me/le/OTand fullוַיִּיקַץvay/yi/KATSand awokeפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdחֲלוֹם׃cha/LOMit was a dream

   And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַבֹּקֶרvab/BO/kerin the morningוַתִּפָּעֶםvat/tip/PA/emthat was troubledרוּחוֹru/CHOhis spiritוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֶת־כׇּל־חַרְטֻמֵּיet-kol-char/tum/MEall the magicians ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְאֶת־כׇּל־חֲכָמֶיהָve/ET-kol-cha/kha/ME/haand all its wise menוַיְסַפֵּרvay/sap/PERand toldפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־חֲלֹמוֹet-cha/lo/MOhis dreamוְאֵין־פּוֹתֵרve/EN-po/TERand there was none to interpretאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלְפַרְעֹה׃le/Far/Oto Pharaoh

   And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

   וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeשַׂרsarthe chief ofהַמַּשְׁקִיםham/mash/KIMthe cupbearersאֶת־פַּרְעֹהet-Par/OPharaohלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֶת־חֲטָאַיet-cha/ta/AYmy faultsאֲנִיa/NIIמַזְכִּירmaz/KIRdo rememberהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMthis day

   Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

    פַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohקָצַףka/TSAFwas wrothעַל־עֲבָדָיוal-a/va/DAYVwith his servantsוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand putאֹתִיo/TImeבְּמִשְׁמַרbe/mish/MARin custody inבֵּיתbetthe house ofשַׂרsarthe captain ofהַטַּבָּחִיםhat/tab/ba/CHIMthe guardאֹתִיo/TImeוְאֵתve/ETandשַׂרsarthe chief ofהָאֹפִים׃ha/o/FIMthe bakers

    Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:

11. 11

    וַנַּחַלְמָהvan/na/chal/MAand we dreamedחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamבְּלַיְלָהbe/LAY/lain a nightאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲנִיa/NIIוָהוּאva/HUand heאִישׁisheach manכְּפִתְרוֹןke/fit/RONaccording to the interpretation ofחֲלֹמוֹcha/lo/MOhis dreamחָלָמְנוּ׃cha/LAM/nuwe dreamed

    And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

    וְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usנַעַרNA/ara young manעִבְרִיIv/RIa HebrewעֶבֶדE/vedservantלְשַׂרle/SARto the captain ofהַטַּבָּחִיםhat/tab/ba/CHIMthe guardוַנְּסַפֶּר־לוֹvan/NE/sap/per-loand we told himוַיִּפְתׇּר־לָנוּvay/yif/TOR-LA/nuand he interpreted to usאֶת־חֲלֹמֹתֵינוּet-cha/lo/mo/TE/nuour dreamsאִישׁishto each manכַּחֲלֹמוֹka/cha/lo/MOaccording to his dreamפָּתָר׃pa/TARhe interpreted

    And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

13. 13

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasפָּתַר־לָנוּpa/TAR-LA/nuhe interpreted to usכֵּןkensoהָיָהha/YAit wasאֹתִיo/TImeהֵשִׁיבhe/SHIVhe restoredעַל־כַּנִּיal-kan/NIto my officeוְאֹתוֹve/o/TOand himתָלָה׃ta/LAhe hanged

    And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֶת־יוֹסֵףet-Yo/SEFJosephוַיְרִיצֻהוּvay/ri/TSU/huand they brought him hastilyמִן־הַבּוֹרmin-hab/BORout of the dungeonוַיְגַלַּחvay/gal/LACHand he shaved himselfוַיְחַלֵּףvay/chal/LEFand changedשִׂמְלֹתָיוsim/lo/TAYVhis garmentsוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand came inאֶל־פַּרְעֹה׃el-Par/Oto Pharaoh

    Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamחָלַמְתִּיcha/LAM/tiI have dreamedוּפֹתֵרu/fo/TERand an interpreterאֵיןenthere is noאֹתוֹo/TOfor itוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tihave heardעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaof youלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAyou understandחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamלִפְתֹּרlif/TORto interpretאֹתוֹ׃o/TOit

    And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

16. 16

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאֶת־פַּרְעֹהet-Par/OPharaohלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבִּלְעָדָיbil/a/DAYit is not in meאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיַעֲנֶהya/a/NEshall answerאֶת־שְׁלוֹםet-she/LOMthe peace ofפַּרְעֹה׃Par/OPharaoh

    And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephבַּחֲלֹמִיba/cha/lo/MIin my dreamהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iעֹמֵדo/MEDstoodעַל־שְׂפַתal-se/FATupon the bank ofהַיְאֹר׃Hay/ORthe Nile

    And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

18. 18

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמִן־הַיְאֹרmin-Hay/ORout of the Nileעֹלֹתo/LOTcame upשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפָּרוֹתpa/ROTcowsבְּרִיאוֹתbe/ri/OTfat ofבָּשָׂרba/SARfleshוִיפֹתvi/FOTand fair ofתֹּאַרTO/arformוַתִּרְעֶינָהvat/tir/E/naand they fedבָּאָחוּ׃ba/A/chuin the reed grass

    And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:

19. 19

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַע־פָּרוֹתSHE/va-pa/ROTseven cowsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherעֹלוֹתo/LOTcame upאַחֲרֵיהֶןa/cha/re/HENafter themדַּלּוֹתdal/LOTpoorוְרָעוֹתve/ra/OTand ill ofתֹּאַרTO/arformמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוְרַקּוֹתve/rak/KOTand lean ofבָּשָׂרba/SARfleshלֹא־רָאִיתִיlo-ra/I/tiI never sawכָהֵנָּהkha/HEN/nasuch as theyבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsin all the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלָרֹעַ׃la/RO/afor badness

    And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

20. 20

    וַתֹּאכַלְנָהvat/to/KHAL/naand they ateהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsהָרַקּוֹתha/rak/KOTthe leanוְהָרָעוֹתve/ha/ra/OTand the illאֵת־שֶׁבַעet-SHE/vasevenהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsהָרִאשֹׁנוֹתha/ri/sho/NOTthe firstהַבְּרִיאֹת׃hab/be/ri/OTthe fat

    And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:

21. 21

    וַתָּבֹאנָהvat/ta/VO/naand they cameאֶל־קִרְבֶּנָהel-kir/BE/nainto their belliesוְלֹאve/LOand notנוֹדַעno/DAcould it be knownכִּי־בָאוּki-VA/uthat they had comeאֶל־קִרְבֶּנָהel-kir/BE/nainto their belliesוּמַרְאֵיהֶןu/mar/e/HENbut their appearanceרַעrawas illכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the beginningוָאִיקָץ׃va/i/KATSand I awoke

    And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

22. 22

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawבַּחֲלֹמִיba/cha/lo/MIin my dreamוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשִׁבֳּלִיםshib/bo/LIMears of grainעֹלֹתo/LOTcame upבְּקָנֶהbe/ka/NEon stalkאֶחָדe/CHADoneמְלֵאֹתme/le/OTfullוְטֹבוֹת׃ve/to/VOTand good

    And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

23. 23

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשִׁבֳּלִיםshib/bo/LIMears of grainצְנֻמוֹתtse/nu/MOTwitheredדַּקּוֹתdak/KOTthinשְׁדֻפוֹתshe/du/FOTblasted byקָדִיםka/DIMthe east windצֹמְחוֹתtsom/CHOTsprang upאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃a/cha/re/HEMafter them

    And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

24. 24

    וַתִּבְלַעְןָvat/tiv/LA/naand swallowedהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהַדַּקֹּתhad/dak/KOTthe thinאֵת־שֶׁבַעet-SHE/vasevenהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהַטֹּבוֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodוָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֶל־הַחַרְטֻמִּיםel-ha/char/tum/MIMto the magiciansוְאֵיןve/ENand there was noneמַגִּידmag/GIDthat could declareלִי׃lito me

    And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶחָדe/CHADoneהוּאhuisאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעֹשֶׂהo/SEis about to doהִגִּידhig/GIDHe has shownלְפַרְעֹה׃le/Far/Oto Pharaoh

    And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

    שֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפָּרֹתpa/ROTcowsהַטֹּבֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsהֵנָּהHEN/naareוְשֶׁבַעve/SHE/vaand sevenהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהַטֹּבֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsהֵנָּהHEN/naareחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamאֶחָדe/CHADoneהוּא׃huis

    The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

    וְשֶׁבַעve/SHE/vaand sevenהַפָּרוֹתhap/pa/ROTthe cowsהָרַקּוֹתha/rak/KOTthe thinוְהָרָעֹתve/ha/ra/OTand the illהָעֹלֹתha/o/LOTthat came upאַחֲרֵיהֶןa/cha/re/HENafter themשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsהֵנָּהHEN/naareוְשֶׁבַעve/SHE/vaand sevenהַשִּׁבֳּלִיםhash/shib/bo/LIMthe ears of grainהָרֵקוֹתha/re/KOTthe emptyשְׁדֻפוֹתshe/du/FOTblasted byהַקָּדִיםhak/ka/DIMthe east windיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofרָעָב׃ra/AVfamine

    And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

    הוּאhuthis isהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have spokenאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעֹשֶׂהo/SEis about to doהֶרְאָהher/AHe has shownאֶת־פַּרְעֹה׃et-Par/OPharaoh

    This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.

29. 29

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsבָּאוֹתba/OTare comingשָׂבָעsa/VAplentyגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsin all the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

30. 30

    וְקָמוּve/KA/muand there shall ariseשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofרָעָבra/AVfamineאַחֲרֵיהֶןa/cha/re/HENafter themוְנִשְׁכַּחve/nish/KACHand shall be forgottenכׇּל־הַשָּׂבָעkol-has/sa/VAall the plentyבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְכִלָּהve/khil/LAand shall consumeהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineאֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃et-ha/A/retsthe land

    And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

31. 31

    וְלֹא־יִוָּדַעve/LO-yiv/va/DAand shall not be knownהַשָּׂבָעhas/sa/VAthe plentyבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEby reason ofהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineהַהוּאha/HUthatאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenfollowingכִּי־כָבֵדki-kha/VEDfor grievousהוּאhuit shall beמְאֹד׃me/ODexceedingly

    And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

32. 32

    וְעַלve/ALand for thatהִשָּׁנוֹתhish/sha/NOTwas doubledהַחֲלוֹםha/cha/LOMthe dreamאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohפַּעֲמָיִםpa/a/MA/yimtwiceכִּי־נָכוֹןki-na/KHONbecause establishedהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingמֵעִםme/IMbyהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוּמְמַהֵרu/me/ma/HERand will hastenהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַעֲשֹׂתוֹ׃la/a/so/TOto do it

    And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיֵרֶאYE/relet look outפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohאִישׁisha manנָבוֹןna/VONdiscerningוְחָכָםve/cha/KHAMand wiseוִישִׁיתֵהוּvi/shi/TE/huand set himעַל־אֶרֶץal-E/retsover the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34. 34

    יַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SElet do thisפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוְיַפְקֵדve/yaf/KEDand let him appointפְּקִדִיםpe/ki/DIMoverseersעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsover the landוְחִמֵּשׁve/chim/MESHand take up the fifth part ofאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptבְּשֶׁבַעbe/SHE/vain the sevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofהַשָּׂבָע׃has/sa/VAthe plenty

    Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

35. 35

    וְיִקְבְּצוּve/yik/be/TSUand let them gatherאֶת־כׇּל־אֹכֶלet-kol-O/khelall the food ofהַשָּׁנִיםhash/sha/NIMthe yearsהַטֹּבוֹתhat/to/VOTthe goodהַבָּאֹתhab/ba/OTthat comeהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְיִצְבְּרוּ־בָרve/yits/be/RU-varand let them lay up grainתַּחַתTA/chatunderיַד־פַּרְעֹהyad-Par/Othe hand of PharaohאֹכֶלO/khelfoodבֶּעָרִיםbe/a/RIMin the citiesוְשָׁמָרוּ׃ve/sha/MA/ruand let them keep it

    And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

36. 36

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beהָאֹכֶלha/O/khelthe foodלְפִקָּדוֹןle/fik/ka/DONfor a storeלָאָרֶץla/A/retsfor the landלְשֶׁבַעle/SHE/vafor sevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתִּהְיֶיןָtih/YE/nashall beבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְלֹא־תִכָּרֵתve/LO-tik/ka/RETand shall not be cut offהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landבָּרָעָב׃ba/ra/AVthrough the famine

    And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

37. 37

    וַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVand it was goodהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוּבְעֵינֵיu/ve/e/NEand in the eyes ofכׇּל־עֲבָדָיו׃kol-a/va/DAYVall his servants

    And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

38. 38

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־עֲבָדָיוel-a/va/DAYVto his servantsהֲנִמְצָאha/nim/TSAcan we findכָזֶהkha/ZEsuch a one as thisאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבּוֹ׃bois in him

    And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39. 39

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהוֹדִיעַho/DI/ahas shownאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֶת־כׇּל־זֹאתet-kol-zotall thisאֵין־נָבוֹןen-na/VONthere is none so discerningוְחָכָםve/cha/KHAMand wiseכָּמוֹךָ׃ka/MO/khalike you

    And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40. 40

    אַתָּהat/TAyouתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beעַל־בֵּיתִיal-be/TIover my houseוְעַל־פִּיךָve/AL-PI/khaand according to your wordיִשַּׁקyish/SHAKshall be ruledכׇּל־עַמִּיkol-am/MIall my peopleרַקrakonlyהַכִּסֵּאhak/kis/SEin the throneאֶגְדַּלeg/DALwill I be greaterמִמֶּךָּ׃mim/MEK/kathan you

    Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41. 41

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephרְאֵהre/Eseeנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI have setאֹתְךָot/KHAyouעַלaloverכׇּל־אֶרֶץkol-E/retsall the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42. 42

    וַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand took offפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶת־טַבַּעְתּוֹet-tab/ba/TOhis signet ringמֵעַלme/ALfromיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveאֹתָהּo/TAitעַל־יַדal-yadupon the hand ofיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיַּלְבֵּשׁvay/yal/BESHand arrayedאֹתוֹo/TOhimבִּגְדֵי־שֵׁשׁbig/DE-sheshin garments of fine linenוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand putרְבִדre/VIDa chain ofהַזָּהָבhaz/za/HAVgoldעַל־צַוָּארוֹ׃al-tsav/va/ROupon his neck

    And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43. 43

    וַיַּרְכֵּבvay/yar/KEVand he made to rideאֹתוֹo/TOhimבְּמִרְכֶּבֶתbe/mir/KE/vetin the chariot ofהַמִּשְׁנֶהham/mish/NEthe secondאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lowhich he hadוַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they criedלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himאַבְרֵךְav/REKHbow the kneeוְנָתוֹןve/na/TONand he setאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַלaloverכׇּל־אֶרֶץkol-E/retsall the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44. 44

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephאֲנִיa/NIIפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוּבִלְעָדֶיךָu/vil/a/DE/khaand without youלֹא־יָרִיםlo-ya/RIMshall not lift upאִישׁishany manאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handוְאֶת־רַגְלוֹve/ET-rag/LOand his footבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsin all the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

45. 45

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohשֵׁם־יוֹסֵףShem-yo/SEFJoseph's nameצָפְנַתTsa/fe/NATZaphnath-פַּעְנֵחַpa/NE/achpaaneahוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹvay/YIT/ten-loand he gave himאֶת־אָסְנַתet-A/se/NATAsenathבַּת־פּוֹטִיbat-PO/tithe daughter of Poti-פֶרַעFE/rapherahכֹּהֵןko/HENpriest ofאֹןonOnלְאִשָּׁהle/ish/SHAto wifeוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephעַל־אֶרֶץal-E/retsover the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46. 46

    וְיוֹסֵףve/Yo/SEFand Josephבֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁיםben-she/lo/SHIMa son of thirtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsבְּעׇמְדוֹbe/om/DOwhen he stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרָיִםME/lekh-Mits/RA/yimking of Egyptוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presence ofפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand went throughoutבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsin all the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47. 47

    וַתַּעַשׂvat/TA/asand brought forthהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landבְּשֶׁבַעbe/SHE/vain sevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofהַשָּׂבָעhas/sa/VAthe plentyלִקְמָצִים׃lik/ma/TSIMby handfuls

    And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48. 48

    וַיִּקְבֹּץvay/yik/BOTSand he gatheredאֶת־כׇּל־אֹכֶלet-kol-O/khelall the food ofשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָיוּha/YUwereבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוַיִּתֶּן־אֹכֶלvay/YIT/ten-O/kheland laid up the foodבֶּעָרִיםbe/a/RIMin the citiesאֹכֶלO/khelthe food ofשְׂדֵה־הָעִירse/DE-ha/IRthe field of the cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichסְבִיבֹתֶיהָse/vi/vo/TE/hawas round about itנָתַןna/TANhe laid upבְּתוֹכָהּ׃be/to/KHAin its midst

    And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

49. 49

    וַיִּצְבֹּרvay/yits/BORand gatheredיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephבָּרbargrainכְּחוֹלke/CHOLas the sand ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaהַרְבֵּהhar/BEvery muchמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyעַדaduntilכִּי־חָדַלki-cha/DALthat he left offלִסְפֹּרlis/PORnumberingכִּי־אֵיןki-enfor it was withoutמִסְפָּר׃mis/PARnumber

    And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

50. 50

    וּלְיוֹסֵףu/Le/yo/SEFand to Josephיֻלַּדyul/LADwere bornשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoבָנִיםva/NIMsonsבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeתָּבוֹאta/VOcameשְׁנַתshe/NATthe year ofהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיָלְדָה־לּוֹya/le/DA-lobore to himאָסְנַתA/se/NATAsenathבַּת־פּוֹטִיbat-PO/tithe daughter of Poti-פֶרַעFE/rapherahכֹּהֵןko/HENpriest ofאוֹן׃onOn

    And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.

51. 51

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe name ofהַבְּכוֹרhab/be/KHORthe firstbornמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehכִּי־נַשַּׁנִיki-nash/SHA/nifor has made me forgetאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־כׇּל־עֲמָלִיet-kol-a/ma/LIall my toilוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־בֵּיתkol-betall the house ofאָבִי׃a/VImy father

    And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

52. 52

    וְאֵתve/ETandשֵׁםshemthe name ofהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondקָרָאka/RAcalledאֶפְרָיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimכִּי־הִפְרַנִיki-hif/RA/nifor has made me fruitfulאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofעׇנְיִי׃on/YImy affliction

    And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

53. 53

    וַתִּכְלֶינָהvat/tikh/LE/naand endedשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofהַשָּׂבָעhas/sa/VAthe plentyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAwasבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

54. 54

    וַתְּחִלֶּינָהvat/te/chil/LE/naand beganשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשְׁנֵיshe/NEyears ofהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineלָבוֹאla/VOto comeכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרa/MARhad saidיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasרָעָבra/AVthe famineבְּכׇל־הָאֲרָצוֹתbe/KHOL-ha/a/ra/TSOTin all the landsוּבְכׇל־אֶרֶץu/ve/KHOL-E/retsbut in all the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptהָיָהha/YAthere wasלָחֶם׃LA/chembread

    And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

55. 55

    וַתִּרְעַבvat/tir/AVand when was famishedכׇּל־אֶרֶץkol-E/retsall the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוַיִּצְעַקvay/yits/AKand criedהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohלַלָּחֶםlal/LA/chemfor breadוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohלְכׇל־מִצְרַיִםle/KHOL-mits/RA/yimto all Egyptלְכוּle/KHUgoאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephאֲשֶׁר־יֹאמַרa/SHER-yo/MARwhat he saysלָכֶםla/KHEMto youתַּעֲשׂוּ׃ta/a/SUdo

    And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

56. 56

    וְהָרָעָבve/ha/ra/AVand the famineהָיָהha/YAwasעַלaluponכׇּל־פְּנֵיkol-pe/NEall the face ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand he openedיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatבָּהֶםba/HEMwas in themוַיִּשְׁבֹּרvay/yish/BORand soldלְמִצְרַיִםle/Mits/RA/yimto the Egyptiansוַיֶּחֱזַקvay/ye/che/ZAKand waxed soreהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

57. 57

    וְכׇל־הָאָרֶץve/KHOL-ha/A/retsand all the landבָּאוּBA/ucameמִצְרַיְמָהMits/RAY/mato Egyptלִשְׁבֹּרlish/BORto buyאֶל־יוֹסֵףel-Yo/SEFto Josephכִּי־חָזַקki-cha/ZAKbecause was soreהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃be/KHOL-ha/A/retsin all the land

    And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
