   And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֶל־בֵּיתוֹel-be/TOto his houseוְאֶלve/ELand toכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall thatעִמּוֹim/MOwith himהָסִרוּha/SI/ruput awayאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיet-e/lo/HEthe gods ofהַנֵּכָרhan/ne/KHARthe foreignerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבְּתֹכְכֶםbe/tokh/KHEMamong youוְהִטַּהֲרוּve/hit/ta/ha/RUand purify yourselvesוְהַחֲלִיפוּve/ha/cha/LI/fuand changeשִׂמְלֹתֵיכֶם׃sim/lo/te/KHEMyour garments

   Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

   וְנָקוּמָהve/na/KU/maand let us ariseוְנַעֲלֶהve/na/a/LEand let us go upבֵּית־אֵלBet-elBeth-elוְאֶעֱשֶׂה־שָּׁםve/e/e/SE-shamand I will make thereמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarלָאֵלla/ELto Godהָעֹנֶהha/o/NEwho answeredאֹתִיo/TImeבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofצָרָתִיtsa/ra/TImy distressוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhin the wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָלָכְתִּי׃ha/LAKH/tiI went

   And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

   וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveאֶל־יַעֲקֹבel-Ya/a/KOVto Jacobאֵת־כׇּל־אֱלֹהֵיet-kol-e/lo/HEall the gods ofהַנֵּכָרhan/ne/KHARthe foreignerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMin their handוְאֶת־הַנְּזָמִיםve/ET-han/ne/za/MIMand the ringsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבְּאׇזְנֵיהֶםbe/oz/ne/HEMin their earsוַיִּטְמֹןvay/yit/MONand hidאֹתָםo/TAMthemיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobתַּחַתTA/chatunderהָאֵלָהha/e/LAthe oakאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעִם־שְׁכֶם׃im-She/KHEMby Shechem

   And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

   וַיִּסָּעוּvay/yis/SA/uand they journeyedוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasחִתַּתchit/TATthe terror ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעַל־הֶעָרִיםal-he/a/RIMupon the citiesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichסְבִיבוֹתֵיהֶםse/vi/vo/te/HEMwere round about themוְלֹאve/LOand notרָדְפוּra/de/FUdid they pursueאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיַעֲקֹב׃Ya/a/KOVJacob

   And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

   וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobלוּזָהLU/zato Luzאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanהִואhivthat isבֵּית־אֵלBet-elBeth-elהוּאhuheוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleאֲשֶׁר־עִמּוֹ׃a/SHER-im/MOthat were with him

   So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him.

   וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtשָׁםshamthereמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altarוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledלַמָּקוֹםlam/ma/KOMthe placeאֵלElElבֵּית־אֵלBet-elBeth-elכִּיkibecauseשָׁםshamthereנִגְלוּnig/LUwas revealedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּבׇרְחוֹbe/vor/CHOwhen he fledמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom the face ofאָחִיו׃a/CHIVhis brother

   And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

8. 8

   וַתָּמׇתvat/TA/motand diedדְּבֹרָהDe/vo/RADeborahמֵינֶקֶתme/NE/ketthe nurse ofרִבְקָהRiv/KARebekahוַתִּקָּבֵרvat/tik/ka/VERand was buriedמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatbeneathלְבֵית־אֵלLe/VET-elBeth-elתַּחַתTA/chatunderהָאַלּוֹןha/al/LONthe oakוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledשְׁמוֹshe/MOits nameאַלּוֹןAl/LONAllon-בָּכוּת׃ba/KHUTbachuth

   But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.

   וַיֵּרָאvay/ye/RAand appearedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶל־יַעֲקֹבel-Ya/a/KOVto Jacobעוֹדodagainבְּבֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he cameמִפַּדַּןmip/Pad/DANfrom Padan-אֲרָםa/RAMaramוַיְבָרֶךְvay/VA/rekhand blessedאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

   And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.

10. 10

    וַיֹּאמֶר־לוֹvay/YO/mer-loand said to himאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodשִׁמְךָshim/KHAyour nameיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobלֹא־יִקָּרֵאlo-yik/ka/REshall not be calledשִׁמְךָshim/KHAyour nameעוֹדodany moreיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobכִּיkiforאִם־יִשְׂרָאֵלim-Yis/ra/ELbut Israelיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beשְׁמֶךָshe/ME/khayour nameוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOhis nameיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

11. 11

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲנִיa/NIIאֵלelGodשַׁדַּיShad/DAYAlmightyפְּרֵהpe/REbe fruitfulוּרְבֵהu/re/VEand multiplyגּוֹיgoya nationוּקְהַלu/ke/HALand an assembly ofגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beמִמֶּךָּmim/MEK/kaof youוּמְלָכִיםu/me/la/KHIMand kingsמֵחֲלָצֶיךָme/cha/la/TSE/khafrom your loinsיֵצֵאוּ׃ye/TSE/ushall come out

    And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

12. 12

    וְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלְאַבְרָהָםle/Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamוּלְיִצְחָקu/Le/yits/CHAKand to Isaacלְךָle/KHAto youאֶתְּנֶנָּהet/te/NEN/nawill I give itוּלְזַרְעֲךָu/le/zar/a/KHAand to your seedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youאֶתֵּןet/TENI will giveאֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃et-ha/A/retsthe land

    And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

13. 13

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upמֵעָלָיוme/a/LAYVfrom himאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERwhere He spokeאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

14. 14

    וַיַּצֵּבvay/yats/TSEVand he set upיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobמַצֵּבָהmats/tse/VAa pillarבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERwhere He spokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himמַצֶּבֶתmats/TSE/veta pillar ofאָבֶןA/venstoneוַיַּסֵּךְvay/yas/SEKHand he poured outעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon itנֶסֶךְNE/sekha drink offeringוַיִּצֹקvay/yi/TSOKand he pouredעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon itשָׁמֶן׃SHA/menoil

    And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

15. 15

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe name ofהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himשָׁםshamthereאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבֵּית־אֵל׃Bet-elBeth-el

    And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.

16. 16

    וַיִּסְעוּvay/yis/Uand they journeyedמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom Beth-אֵלelelוַיְהִי־עוֹדvay/HI-odand there was yetכִּבְרַת־הָאָרֶץkiv/RAT-ha/A/retsa stretch of landלָבוֹאla/VOto comeאֶפְרָתָהEf/RA/taEphratahוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreרָחֵלRa/CHELRachelוַתְּקַשׁvat/te/KASHand had hard laborבְּלִדְתָּהּ׃be/lid/TAwhen she gave birth

    And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְהַקְשֹׁתָהּve/hak/sho/TAwhen she was in hard laborבְּלִדְתָּהּbe/lid/TAwhen she gave birthוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלָהּlato herהַמְיַלֶּדֶתham/yal/LE/detthe midwifeאַל־תִּירְאִיal-ti/re/Ido not fearכִּי־גַם־זֶהki-gam-zefor this alsoלָךְlakhto youבֵּן׃bena son

    And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

18. 18

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּצֵאתbe/TSETas was departingנַפְשָׁהּnaf/SHAher soulכִּיkiforמֵתָהME/tashe diedוַתִּקְרָאvat/tik/RAand she calledשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameבֶּן־אוֹנִיben-O/NIBen-oniוְאָבִיוve/a/VIVand his fatherקָרָא־לוֹka/RA-localled himבִנְיָמִין׃Vin/ya/MINBenjamin

    And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

19. 19

    וַתָּמׇתvat/TA/motand diedרָחֵלRa/CHELRachelוַתִּקָּבֵרvat/tik/ka/VERand was buriedבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhon the way toאֶפְרָתָהEf/RA/taEphratahהִואhivthat isבֵּיתBetBeth-לָחֶם׃LA/chemlehem

    And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.

20. 20

    וַיַּצֵּבvay/yats/TSEVand he set upיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobמַצֵּבָהmats/tse/VAa pillarעַל־קְבֻרָתָהּal-ke/vu/ra/TAupon her graveהִואhivthat isמַצֶּבֶתmats/TSE/vetthe pillar ofקְבֻרַת־רָחֵלke/vu/RAT-Ra/CHELthe grave of Rachelעַד־הַיּוֹם׃ad-hay/YOMto this day

    And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

21. 21

    וַיִּסַּעvay/yis/SAand journeyedיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיֵּטvay/YETand pitchedאׇהֳלֹהo/ho/LOhis tentמֵהָלְאָהme/HAL/abeyondלְמִגְדַּל־עֵדֶר׃Le/mig/DAL-E/derMigdal-eder

    And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּשְׁכֹּןbish/KONwhen dweltיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַהִואha/HIVthatוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentרְאוּבֵןRe/u/VENReubenוַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand lay withאֶת־בִּלְהָהet-Bil/HABilhahפִּילֶגֶשׁpi/LE/geshthe concubine ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardיִשְׂרָאֵ͏ל׃Yis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereבְנֵי־יַעֲקֹבve/NE-ya/a/KOVthe sons of Jacobשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר׃she/NEM-a/SARtwelve

    And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

23. 23

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofלֵאָהLe/ALeahבְּכוֹרbe/KHORthe firstborn ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobרְאוּבֵןRe/u/VENReubenוְשִׁמְעוֹןve/Shim/ONand Simeonוְלֵוִיve/Le/VIand LeviוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahוְיִשָּׂשכָרve/Yis/sash/KHARand Issacharוּזְבֻלוּן׃u/Ze/vu/LUNand Zebulun

    The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

24. 24

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofרָחֵלRa/CHELRachelיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוּבִנְיָמִן׃u/Vin/ya/MINand Benjamin

    The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

25. 25

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofבִלְהָהVil/HABilhahשִׁפְחַתshif/CHATthe handmaid ofרָחֵלRa/CHELRachelדָּןDanDanוְנַפְתָּלִי׃ve/Naf/ta/LIand Naphtali

    And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

26. 26

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofזִלְפָּהZil/PAZilpahשִׁפְחַתshif/CHATthe handmaid ofלֵאָהLe/ALeahגָּדGadGadוְאָשֵׁרve/A/SHERand AsherאֵלֶּהEL/letheseבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיֻלַּד־לוֹyul/LAD-lowere born to himבְּפַדַּןbe/Fad/DANin Padan-אֲרָם׃a/RAMaram

    And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.

27. 27

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֶל־יִצְחָקel-Yits/CHAKto Isaacאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherמַמְרֵאMam/REto MamreקִרְיַתKir/YATKirjath-הָאַרְבַּעha/ar/BAarbaהִואhivthat isחֶבְרוֹןChev/RONHebronאֲשֶׁר־גָּר־שָׁםa/SHER-gar-shamwhere sojournedאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוְיִצְחָק׃ve/Yits/CHAKand Isaac

    And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

28. 28

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacמְאַתme/ATone hundredשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוּשְׁמֹנִיםu/she/mo/NIMand eightyשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

    And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

29. 29

    וַיִּגְוַעvay/yig/VAand gave up the ghostיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedוַיֵּאָסֶףvay/ye/A/sefand he was gatheredאֶל־עַמָּיוel-am/MAYVto his peopleזָקֵןza/KENoldוּשְׂבַעu/se/VAand full ofיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוַיִּקְבְּרוּvay/yik/be/RUand they buriedאֹתוֹo/TOhimעֵשָׂוE/SAVEsauוְיַעֲקֹבve/Ya/a/KOVand Jacobבָּנָיו׃ba/NAYVhis sons

    And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
